John Paul 2 a saint? Don’t make us laugh…

Pope Benedict 16 says that John Paul 2 is a saint. No doubt he is to Pope RATzinger. They have found miracle #1 out of the two needed to make John Paul 2 a saint. He is said to have cured a nun of her Parkinsin’s Disease, O’ Halleluyah! Might we say that miracle #2 should be in how he made Pope RATzinger pope. It took a miracle to take a former Nazi youth group leader and make him into an ‘acceptable’ leader of the Catholic Church, we think. John Paul 2 a saint? What a pathetic joke.

  1. The College of Cardinals decided on Ratzinger. That much I know, but I’m not Catholic, so I don’t know if the Pope decides who gets to be a Cardinal or if it’s the College of Cardinals themselves…

One thing conspicuously missing is Ratzinger cum Benedict making the casus belli or the jus ad bellum that John Paul 2 also denied to the Bush-Blair Bitch Project…

The right wing had such high hopes for him too…

But then again, Reagan thought JP2 was going to be a tame Pope because of his anti-communist stance.

Hannity was crowing that Ratzinger had made a statement that supposedly defeated and derailed a Marxist takeover of the Church.

    Meaning ‘Liberation Theology’.

Although neither JP2 nor, strangely, Ratzinger have made the next step of excommunicating any priests or bishops who advocate L. T., like our own beloved Bishop Sheridan threatening to excommunicate Democrats.

So what next? Is Ratzinger “kicking him upstairs”? Giving him a faster promotion so his ghost won’t be haunting him during whatever sinister plots he has hatching?

    Don’t know, can’t say…

Since some of the most vocal and strongest advocates of peace are connected to the Church, BUT mostly the aforementioned Liberationists.

Father Phil Berrigan (late) of Jonah House comes to mind.

Which reminds me, I haven’t checked back that way in EEEEK 2 months now…

Of course me, I’m a protestant in all senses of the word, and I suppose that even atheists would wonder why an Almighty God would need a Pope to decide who gets to heaven and who doesn’t….

And a lot of Catholics do as well.

I think Ratzinger is well aware of that fact, and how precarious his position in the Church actually is..

So his pushing for sainthood of a Pope who was far more popular than he himself ever will be, might be a political maneuver…

OK more than just “might be” , it’s pandering on the Grandest Scale.
