NonBelief in Global Warming as US political fashion statement

As luck would have it, a long time friend of mine (exLeftist) visited right about the time that the PEW Poll was released which the corporate media pushed off as supposedly showing that less Americans were worried about Global Warming than before. My friend was very adamant in telling me that he didn’t think that there was any real Global Warming going on caused by humankind and I know why he was telling me this. It is simply a form of Centrist Fashion Statement in the US to express ‘doubts’ about the reality of Global Warming or not? It is, in fact, a ‘What, me worry?’ sort of statement of political fashion. Mad!
Here is another poll below that measures US beliefs in whether Global Warming is something we should be worried about or not? It shows that about 1/4 of Americans will say all is ‘hunky-dory and could not be better.’ 4 out of 10 will say ‘Duh, Fair…’ and about 1/3 will say ‘Yuck!’ It’s kind of like the breakdown for Belief in the Power of Positive Thinking. Ask me about this and I will say… SHIT. Ask the church lady and she will go on and say….’It’s all so true as she croons on about ‘Faith’, etc.
ABC News/Planet Green/Stanford University poll. July 23-28, 2008. N=1,000 adults nationwide. MoE ± 3. “How would you rate the condition of the natural environment in the world today: excellent, good, fair, poor, or very poor?”
