DENVER- Karl Rove signed books with impunity today, but not many, and not without irreverent walk-ins (the line was so short, so their cameras didn’t fire up before they were already being escorted outside). Denver Police were called on the sign-bearers outside, but unlike the Rove handlers and Barnes & Noble staff, they were amenable to negotiation.

Better Rove strategy…
Instead of sending one squad in to take him, send two or three. Maybe get some guy who LOOKS like a Security Goon, while the Real Goon Squad are doing their Escort The Dissident routine, (might have to distract twice, thus more than just a couple of squads) and maybe wearing a uniform and packing a walkie-talkie (hey, my spell check recognizes walkie-talkie .. far out…) make with the official “Mr Rove, we have to get you out of here fast” routine and lead him out the back door…. he he he he he… do the Extraordinary Rendition thing he’s defended so successfully. Have him duct taped, diapered and doped and on the next plane to the Hague so fast his fat head will spin.
At the very least just the thought of it could keep him a prisoner of his own security for a long time. Like Nixon holed up in the White House, National Guard surrounding the White House… Paranoia, may destroy ya…
One thing about the Hague, they don’t waterboard and they don’t execute.
California does. So does Colorado.
He’d be getting a better deal than he ever handed out.
