Occupy Denver tells DPD to GET BACK!

Denver occupiers took to the streets last night in solidarity with OCCUPYs nationwide to protest the brutal January 27 clampdown on an attempted squat in Oakland, California. My favorite chant of the evening was “THEY SAY GET BACK, WE SAY FUCK THAT!” but by the march’s end it was DPD officers who were told to back off. As the protesters took Colfax Avenue and adjacent street, Denver cruisers kept traffic away, eliminating potential witnesses or passersby who might join in. But when Occupy Denver led their protest to the police station, officers with riot control weapons closed in to encircle them in what’s now referred to as a “kettle”, or extrajudicial detainment. Taking a page from the DPD manual the occupiers told their would-be attackers to “GET BACK, GET BACK!” and Obi-Wan-Kenobied their way out of the uncivil-liberty trap. [more on the evening's account later today]

Occupy Wall Street mentor Adbusters issues latest tactical briefing. Chicago. May. Occupy.
Vancouver’s Adbusters Magazine sent the initial callouts to occupy Wall Street, to be the natural successor to unfinished revolutions in Tahrir Square and Madrid. Quickly enough it escaped their grasp. Adusters has issued two dozen “Tactical Briefings” since before September 17 to advise the growing rebellion, to be interpreted coming from a valued mentor, albeit an outsider, technically now, a non-occupier. The distinction was never more obvious than when one of their briefings advised striking the camps and waiting out the winter. But their briefing #25 offers more than retreat, it sets OWS sights on the joint NATO-G8 summit to be held in Chicago this May, against which very large demonstrations are already being planned. No specific advice on the other hand for local occupies, wisely perhaps, where tacticians can add no more to the strategy than hold your ground, by definition, occupy.

Ft Carson conducts pro forma town hall to clear way for environmental impact of proposed helicopter brigade

OCCUPIED COLORADO SPRINGS- Ft Carson’s environmental PR team held what’s called a “draft Environmental Assessment,” prerequisite to their addition of a Combat Aviation Brigade to America’s “Best Hometown in the Army”. Except for a car-dealer and realtor giving their attaboys, the citizens comment section weighed solidly AGAINST expansion of war-making and war-training. In true pro forma, Garrison Commander McLaughlin shrugged off the opposition, stating that public input would be answered while the army proceeded as planned. And that’s where Occupy will have something to say.

Israel- Should a nation of land thieves really be considered as being somehow a democracy?
Robert Fantina asks this question and answers it well in his excellent commentary Stolen Land- Israel, Settlements and Democracy The green on the maps above represent the original land that Palestinians had for their people back in 1946, now being rapidly stolen away by others up to the year 2000, on the maps, and continuing into the present…

Egypt- Revolution not yet made
The conventional corporate media scribble is that Egyptians made a revolution a year ago when they overthrew the dictator Mubarak. However, Mubarak was not alone what oppressed Egypt and made their country one of poverty and lacking in human rights. It was the US constructed ‘Egyptian’ military that ruled over them, and it still does. Throughout the world in multiple countries, it is the US Pentagon that is the de facto ruler over other peoples, and so it is still in Egypt today.

In the Leigh of the Storm
“Because we all share an identical need for love, it is possible to feel that anybody we meet, in whatever circumstances, is a brother or sister. No matter how new the face or how different the dress or behavior, there is no significant division between us and other people. It is foolish to dwell on basic differences, because our basic natures are the same.” — Dalai Lama

The Battle of the Strait of Hormuz might be just about to begin?
Two countries, Iran and the United Arab Emirates, lie opposite each other at the Strait of Hormuz, and those two countries have enjoyed a long history of relative peace with each other as compared to the situation of many other areas in the Middle East. However, the US and its European allies, France and Britain may be just about to send that peace up into bloody flames? Britain, America and France have just sent six warships, led by a 100,000 ton aircraft carrier right through the highly sensitive waters of the Strait of Hormuz and to right offshore of Iran. Britain, US and France send warships through Strait of Hormuz

This loyal Middle East henchman and US servant issued this statement upon his departure….

America’s counter revolution in Libya begins to turn sour
While the reign of Moammar Gadhafi and his family was not exactly paradise for many Libyans, the overthrow of his government ending in the US directed torture death of Gadhafi himself is not bringing anything good to Libya at all. And the Western imperialist counter revolution is now falling into total disrepute as Libyans begin to despair of their present and their futures. Benghazi, Libya was the center of the counter revolution that toppled Gadhafi. Here is today’s news report from there Libyans storm transitional government headquarters

State of Colorado admits torturing prisoners
Solitary confinement is the favorite manner that the US tortures people with and the State of Colorado has just admitted to torturing people in this manner to the federal government, yet the Obama Administration will not begin to punish the governments in Colorado that use this torture method on prisoners held, since the Federal government uses it, too. The Obama Administration did ask that the State of Colorado not use it to torture TOO many prisoners with though. How nice. See Colorado to move 321 inmates out of solitary

Is Ron Paul really against supporting more US government war making?
Many desperate citizens have this round of corporate Presidential selectioning, taken to supporting Ron Paul and his Libertarian backed campaign in hopes of finding some avenue forward to changing the sorry state of current US politics. We think that a very mistaken idea, as Ron Paul in no way seems to be even slightly anti-Pentagon militarism, let alone an advocate for decent domestic policy changes. In fact, his domestic policy positions are truly horrifying, and advocate for doing away with public schools and social security and not the Police State, the prison camps, and excessive US BIG government military presence seen across the globe.

Good riddance, Rick Perry
Just one week after defending the actions of US soldiers who were pissing on corpses of Afghans and laughing about it and filming it, Rick Perry has had to withdraw from the race to get the Republican nomination for President. Perry defends Marines accused of urinating on corpses Good riddance, Rick. It would be nice if the state of Texas would get rid of you, too.

The US FDA has helped create a new Tuberculosis plague that threatens us all
In 1972, that (FDA) task force published a report acknowledging that the use of antimicrobials in food-producing animals was associated with the development of antimicrobial-resistant bacteria. Over the past several weeks, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been in the news for its stance on antibiotic use in farm animals. Yet instead of making good on its 1977 promise to limit these drugs in livestock, the agency continues to move in the opposite direction. Read more »

I’d rather this Monday was called the Black Panther Party Ten Point Plan Day instead of MLK Day
Point 8- WE WANT AN IMMEDIATE END TO ALL WARS OF AGGRESSION
We believe that the various conflicts which exist around the world stem directly from the aggressive desire of the United States ruling circle and government to force its domination upon the oppressed people of the world. We believe that if the United States government or its lackeys do not cease these aggressive wars it is the right of the people to defend themselves by any means necessary against their aggressors.
Contrast Point 8 of the Black Panther 10 Point Plan alone to the limp rhetoric that MLK Day has come to be associated entirely with these days. Here is the entire original Ten Point Plan of the Black Panther Party TenPoint.htm The ‘dream’ has still to be anywhere near achieved.
