Smokey Bear wants to prevent fires, does he belong to your resistance?

So there's a t-shirt being pitched by the alt-mod-left, who want to coopt the anti-Trump rallying cry RESIST. It's Smokey Bear with his head down and fist raised, invoking the Black Panther salute made iconic at the 1968 olympics. Except his fist is on FIRE, and it's Smokey. WTF. Is he resisting putting it out? Smokey Bear's singular catch-phrase is about YOU, PREVENTING FIRES. As usual, he's holding a shovel, a reminder that fighting forest fires is essentially ditch-digging. So what is Smokey resisting? The urge to douse the fire burning up his hand? The image reminds me of the innanity of moderate democrats. Both "Smokey" and "Bear" have long become euphemisms for cops. This Smokey wants to embed with your resistance crew. Knock him out with a shovel.

Occupy Your Liberal Tendencies

"OCCUPY YOUR LIBERAL TENDENCIES". Yeah, it doesn't mean what you think it means. Dems love the slogan because they read it as "embrace liberalism". Iliterate radicals fall for the same misconception. Occupy activists know the concept means to DISRUPT or BLOCK you liberal inclination. This slogan separates those who understood the Occupy Wall Street encampment from hipsters who always look for excuses not to participate when a movement is catching on. 44830

Wall Street is why we can’t have nice things. Your gullible good nature is why America can’t change that.

Cops are people too, voting matters, use honey not vinegar, the only way is nonviolence, yada yada. Try this against your old liberals' tales: If one million indignados foreswore property destruction, a policeman with a sharp pencil could subjugate them all, the state could spend more on amassing capital, and the press wouldn't have to report a thing, etc. Occupy is a revolutionary movement rallying support for the understanding that we must burn down this castle of inequity and injustice. Those urging demonstrators to lower the pitchforks are the primary defensive line of the system. Armored police are nothing compared to the duped stooges who circulate among us enforcing conformity and dissent within-limits. Occupy Wall Street targeted Wall Street because it pulls the strings in DC. We can continue to protest corporations and the military but our biggest adversaries are our own defeatist tendencies. They are neither accidental nor transcendent, they are malignant.

“In the footsteps of Martin Luther King”, as if he’d lead a meaningless ask-for-nothing commemoration

Another million pawn march, to nowhere, commemorating the corporate brand of "MLK" sterilized of instructional efficacy, sanitized of King's ultimate demands: jobs, economic justice, peace. This weekend's 50th anniversary of the dream speech was the usual reminder that professional organizers abound who will gladly wear out would-be activists until they have no energy for real demonstrations. Of course there's "work that remains to achieve King's Dream", who knows that better than the assholes waylaying it, then every year genuflecting before their sainted fictional MLK.

Mother Jones was not a Democrat!

Mother Jones Magazine sent me an email the other morning, subject: "BREAKING", first line: "URGENT" so I opened it wondering if it was possibly about more than asking for money, how silly of me. Apparently, Stephen Colbert's sister stands a chance to beat Republican Sanford in a senate race somewhere, as if that mattered to Mother Jones! Has a Democrat yet delivered anything to cheer about? Like President Obama, they are worse than Republicans because we pretend they are kinder gentler rapists and they're not even that, they're doublespeaking rapists whispering sweet nothings, this latest has the last name "Busch."

Democrats prepared to beat up on the elderly with their buddies, the Republicans

~~~ We could see this a long time coming... Obama 'offering to cut US pensions' for deficit deal ...Time to kick both parties to the side and stop that 'Kiss me I'm a liberal (Democrat) bullshit. In fact, it's way past the time to have done so. Neither Democrat nor Republican come the next round of corporate ruling class (s)elections! Voting for these people is like putting a bullet to your head. This country can hardly be called a democracy at all.
2,000?
The media today did a casualty count for the war against Afghanistan and its mistreated people, and came up with the magical number 2,000 (Sorry Afghans, nobody in the US hardly cares about your deaths). We are all supposed to ponder and reflect (according to the Pentagon fed corporate US media) about the supposed sacrifices that Americans have made to supposedly benefit the people of Afghanistan. Doesn't it just make you sick, Democrats, to know how 'your' political party, for which you vote constantly, views this war as being a good war? No, I guess it doesn't. 37138
Obama pushes to return White House to the Republican Party by coming out for Gay Marriage to unite Republicans
At a time when the Republican Party was infighting at every level, Barack Obama and Joe Biden with the 2 Clintons found a unique way to unite the Republican Party behind a weak and universally disliked Mitt Romney. They decided to make the dividing line between the two corporate parties Gay Marriage! Will it work? Will the Democrats once again be successful at returning themselves into the position of being the pretend oppositional party, where they can safely keep the Democratic Party's 'liberal' community thinking of themselves as some sort of dissidents instead of the milquetoast pro corporate class 1%-ers they really are? 33653
The Democrats propose to tax corporations even less!
In typical double speak method, the Democratic Party Obama Administration is proposing to supposedly raise corporate tax revenues by actually lowering them! The tax rate for corporations is now at 35% with numerous loopholes out of actually paying that, so Obama has come along with a proposal to lower the rate even more to 28%. Really, Obama? 30567
Dems pass Monsanto anti real food act
The corporate US House of Lords, aka Senate, passed Big Agra's "Food Safety and Modernization Act" which aims to further impede the natural agriculture resurgence while shielding the real sources of food contamination, factory animal farms. Count BOTH Colorado Dems among the corrupt legislators who I guess pretend they don't know better. Yes, Senator Mark Udall and newly entrenched incumbent Michael Bennet. Here's the full list of DP-led Monsanto/ADM shills, courtesy of Natural News. 20664
While the rest of the world celebrates Armistice Day…
We have Veterans Day, or, as I like to put it, "your recruiter lied to you and society used your entire childhood to condition you to accept that, so to make up for getting screwed like that we'll have a postal holiday and a parade for you". Just, you know, don't actually expect those benefits they promised you BEFORE you signed the enlistment or induction papers, and try to keep in mind as every politician with access to a microphone is praising your decision to "serve the country", that the renaming of the day as Veterans Day was a deliberate ploy to try to ease the sting of the use of United States soldiers, led by Doug McArthur, Dwight Eisenhower and Patton, to fire on an encampment, daily parade and daily petition to President Hoover to actually honor the promised benefits to Spanish War and World War 1 veterans. Instead Hoover gave their pensions to Investment Bankers, like his party and their TeaBag affiliates are promising to do AGAIN, only now they've got Social Security to give to the Investment Bankers along with them. They've also got enough RepubliFascists who ran under the false flag of Democracy selling your benefits to the Banksters
I’m voting early, and I vote NO
I'll show you an absentee ballot. As the election looms, the Klieg lights intensify on the TP bogey-persons, TV talking heads harp about what a nail-biter this will be, pollsters dance with them that brought 'em, Michael Moore does his usual U-turn, to urge us to suck it up for the Dems, Medea Benjamin defends her eternal faith that activism "might" still move Obama, and ever multiple emails presume Obama's options must be preserved at all costs, usually a donation. Again I anticipate hearing from a friend who monitors local precinct printouts and calls to whip his charges to the polls. I've lost count of how many Facebook prompts I've gotten to pledge to vote -- but this time I'm going to make my ballot count. No amount of corporate-sponsored fear-based gap-closing civic-enthusiasm is going to coerce me to play this game. I will not support war, lack of health care, and class war unchallenged. The beasts unleashed by Citizens United will not buy my participation. 20436
Muslim Mommas never cry and other heinous lies
What got me started on this offering was a TV show on at midnight, only lasted (from my perspective, because the channel got changed quickly) for about two minutes. The show was about 9/11 survivors. One of them said “That’s the difference between America and everybody else... in America when there’s great tragedy and danger people band together and help each other out”. So that means the only people on the entire surface of the planet where people actually have Human Feelings is in America, and everybody else is incapable of actual humanity. Subhumans in other words. Nothing Racist about that? No Religious bigotry either, like when a Muslim preacher orating at a funeral says the deceased is in Paradise, that’s supposedly cold-hearted brainwashing and encouraging the other members of the congregation to do suicide bombings. 19754
Operation Home Front = fake patriotism
Enough already. If you "support" the troops or the war, then why don't you actually "support" them? Dig down deep and pay your God-damn taxes to fund it. Can't afford the war under the current Tax Scheme? Too GOD-DAMNED BAD. You should have protested George Bush and his Corporate Thieves when they STARTED the bitch. You should have protested THEN and you really need to protest it NOW, the tax-breaks given to the Wealthiest People On The Planet so they don't have to pay for the "troops" to go out and rob one of the poorest nations on the planet, Afghanistan, on their behalf. Those Corporate Murderers who are benefiting from the war are getting their blood money essentially for FREE because STUPID PEOPLE or LAZY PEOPLE wouldn't ever stand up to them. Some of you who have influence in the major parties, maybe people with military titles in front of your names? The kind of name-and-title combinations politicians drool over when it's election time... YEAH, YOU! Get off your Fat Uniformed Butt and make Congress aware that THEIR bribe-taking and favoritism to the Blood-sucking Corporations have NOT gone un-noticed. TeaBags, you bitch and whine about a health care plan that might stop
Refudiating the misunderestimation of Sarah Palin
Even my Democrat friends are tired of apologizing for their party. They can point to nothing they and Obama have accomplished that's reason enough to rally for Democrats in November, EXCEPT the specter of Sarah Palin. Ya think? --because I don't. There may be American voters who prefer to elect a president they can drink a beer with, but in the feminine that's going to be a Budweiser Girl. My apologies to feminists, but Bush's dumbfuck shtick from the mouth of a woman comes across as a shrew. Palin's invention of "refudiate" is no funnier than a common Bushism. It's a sign her writers think they can crib the Bush playbook, but this time for a bogeyman, I think they misunderestimate the American public.
America Wins! Tea Party LOSES!
One of their congressional whiners, from Michigan: "The American people know you can't reduce health care costs by spending $1 trillion or raising taxes by more than one-half trillion dollars. The American people know that you cannot cut Medicare by over one-half trillion dollars without hurting seniors," said Rep. Dave Camp, R-Mich. (as though the lying hypocrite ever gave two shits about seniors or the deficit) "And, the American people know that you can't create an entirely new government entitlement program without exploding spending and the deficit." (unlike the current over ten trillion deficit with more to come from an "entitlement program" for the Oil and Coal corporations and the War Industry billioniares) 15541
Obama does not need your support
Apparently Americans aren't showing President Obama enough love in the White House. Apparently he's not seeing the groundswell of support he needs to address any of our problems. American politics, apparently, always compounds injury with insult. This Kool-Aid's not only allegorical, it's really poisoned. Barack Obama doesn't need your support. That's just the rope with which they'll hang his failure on you. 13351
Colo. Dem reps only half Blue Bounders
Neither of Colorado's Blue Canis Familiaris Democrats acted the heel enough to merit tar and feathers on yesterday's HCR vote. But these Dems need to go. 64 Democrats voted to load an anti-abortion provision unto the House healthcare bill, among them District 3's John Salazar. The Stupak-Pitts amendment passed, but 23 of the blackguards later voted against the bill, meaning they had acted to try to sink health care reform. Here are their names, via sharedferret/dkos: 11225
Oh, and the House just passed the Health Care bill.
I don't know if the "trigger" part is still in but even if it is, the states that need it the very most, already hit the "trigger". The press is trying to spin it as a victory for Republicans because "it'll weaken the chances of Democrats in the mid-term". I guess that all depends on how much of a delay they can make on implementing the measures. 11194
Big Insurance greed? COS is Sick Of It!
KRDO's Eric Singer called today's health care reform rally "very one sided," so much so, seeing it, "you might have done a double-take." Because it wasn't our backwater's customary Teabag Pity Party where agitated ignorants throw their own hopes for adequate health care into the drink; but KRDO doesn't report those anti-rallies as one-sided. Of course, KRDO's advertisers are the medical system conglomerates, pharmaceuticals, and big insurance! Greed. We are sick of it! The Gazette repeated their usual mantra that health care reform is unaffordable, but offered a refreshingly frank representation of Pattie's nuanced address to the energized crowd. 10024
COS Health Care Reform Rally Sept 7
Your next chance in Colorado Springs to voice support for health care reform is Monday, Sept 7, from 2-3pm. The Printers Home will host a rally, followed by a march across the street to Senator Mark Udall's office. (Because the historic Printers Home is a patriotic UNION facility, the beautiful grounds will be off limits to health care deniers!) 8585
Obama’s ‘health care’ bait and switch
Today, for the first time, President Obama has finally revealed to the American public what his 'reform' of 'health care insurance' actually would involve. Obama's messenger was Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, who revealed that Obama was actually pushing for something called (by the corporate media) as being 'nonprofit insurance cooperatives' to become the new lynch pin and center foundation stone for US insurance, as they continue to disrupt the actual delivery of American Health care. 8436
Instant Pentagon Slaughter on the way
Borrowing a page from the recent Israeli military slaughter in Gaza, Residents asked (by the Pentagon and CIC Barack Obama) to leave homes in Pakistan's Swat ...Well you warned them, didn't you, Barack Baby? You told them to leave and if any of their children now get in the way, you have washed yourself of all their blood in responsibility, now haven't you Mr. First Black President? What a change you are from the Dubya crowd! 7643
