Gun ownership does nothing to protect Freedom- So stop spreading the big lie that it does, Right Wingers!

The biggest lie of the Right Wingers in our country is that their gun ownership somehow is protecting Freedom and Liberty. Of course, this lie is straight corollary with the dullard jingoist notion that US governmental militarism and the bloated US military are supposedly together protecting 'our' Freedom and Liberty, when that is certainly not the case. The contrary! However, the ditto brained Right Wingers seem to think that if they repeat their lies often enough, some how the evidence will back them up. However, countries like Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen have high personal amounts of gun ownership and quantity of guns around, too. Are they living in Freedom? Who could claim that? Freedom and Liberty are related by Peace and Economic and Social Security, nothing of which we in the US have that much of these days.

So Aurora shooter James Holmes has “lawyered up” and “is not cooperating” – you’d think he did something wrong

If law enforcement spokespeople are to be believed, James Holmes has "lawyered up", EXCEPT that he turned up at his arraignment alone, with a public defender. Does "lawyered up" mean something else, like invoking your right not to be interrogated without advice of a lawyer? Was the statement meant to fill in the villainous mold according to the public's "law and Order" TV notion about how police can mistreat suspects? By surrendering himself, by warning officers about his boobytrapped apartment and now telling of the notebook he'd mailed to his university, James Holmes' behavior seems to contradict everything the police are pretending. There's nothing to defend about the Aurora shootings, I mean that outside the courtroom, but why add stripping ourselves of our right to remain silent as we cheer for James Holmes' blood?

More gun fetishist news

Because of the incredible militarization of the US, much of the male population, and a huge group of women too, have a gun fetish. To have this fetish is to oftentimes experience heartbreak or to give it out to others. The latest news item about this is: Cop shoots and kills son after reportedly mistaking him for an intruder.

Corporate personhood: unintended consequences

yes/no: are corporations persons? Are Corporations composed of shareholders? Do Corporations act on behalf and with the explicit consent of the shareholders? Has the corporation, with said consent, used any consideration of value including the intellectual property of the corporate officers or of salaried employees or contractors ever made statements supporting the Death Penalty or joined as paying members any organization supporting the Death Penalty? Do they accept without question the definitions of Capital crimes including giving false testimony which results in the death of another human being, killing for money, treason? Of the shareholders holding a majority of the stocks bonds or other assets of the corporation, do ANY have stocks in Advertising AND firearms corporations AND Data/Software Corporations which publish movies or video games glorifying violence? Do any of the corporate Persons advocate the notion that firearms are necessary for self defense? Have any of the corporate persons made statements advocating lenience in the cases of persons condemned to death as accessories to capital murder, such as the "getaway driver"? Does the corporation support acts of retaliation against the perpetrators of 9/11? Does the Corporation support such acts even against nations which were NOT the perpetrators, such as Iraq, Iran, Palestine, Afghanistan? Combine the answers with facts such

Pueblo Health Dept wants to know why more Teen Pregnancy…

I thought medical science had already answered that question. In other news, a grenade was found at prospect lake. Police are wondering how it got there. Well, you see, a flock of swallows migrating from a warmer climate, more conducive to the growth of the hand-grenade trees, dropped it there. OK so that's about as far as I'll go toward ripping off the Python Players at least for this one joke. After detonating the device, which, surprise, wasn't a fake... Police are trying to find out who placed it there. Here's a wondrously simple explanation, Occam's Razor and all. There's a lot of pissed off people in the world, some of whom are in the United States Military. Or WERE in the U.S. Military. Or wanted to be but couldn't pass whatever tests the Army has. One such person, obtaining several grenades and carrying them in his pockets in his equally surplus-store BDUs, dropped one and didn't realize that it was gone. And really, who among us hasn't misplaced a grenade or two? Or, perhaps the overgrown infant had purchased ONE Grenade, fantasizing about being the next Rambo (there's a new RamButt movie coming out too...) then upon being surprised by the CSPD on park patrol, ditched it in the

Jeanne Assam, rogue private security shooter, friend of George W Bush, to be honored in Colo. Springs for being gay

That's it, my romance with the local GLBT community is over. Yes I had some qualms when my fey friends leaned hard on Gay Marriage when it was made a wedge issue in the election of 2004. Yes I rebuffed the campaign against Don't Ask Don't Tell because it implicitly encouraged military service in a time of US war crime. But I remained in the fold because I was reminded that equal rights for gays and lesbians are fundamental to the embrace of universal equality. Now my humanitarian tolerance is being tested by having to extend equality to moral-idiocy. Today I received an invitation to a GLBTA gala honoring former Colorado Springs lesbian Jeanne Assam, the most famous lesbian they could tap apparently. Famous for what? The name rang a bell. Assam was the disgraced police officer, redeemed New Life Church security volunteer, who preempted a presumed massacre by a teen abused-churchgoer come home to roost. He was bent on an armed rampage, but does that excuse Assam shooting him from a concealed position, without even an attempt at apprehension? Local GLBTA leaders think it does apparently, and maybe it's no surprise then that they chose this photo to promote

Never mind the dog, beware of owner… Cute, maybe. Effective, nope.

Guns are what you call "simple". They're a simple piston engine, the very simplest being a piece of tubing, a nail and something to snug the nail to the inside of the tube for maximum pressure, then you simply make with a puff of air. With a little practice you can put that nail right through somebod errr Some Thing. Accurate shooting of anything only takes a little practice. Bow and arrow, slingshot, off your mouth, ... a couple of hours of practice and you have that part down pat. What takes a lifetime commitment is how to NOT shoot accidentally, not shoot in fits of rage, not become a murderer. AND, keeping YOUR gun out of the hands of people who don't care about safety or Human Life in general or specifically. When you take up the Gun, like taking up the Sword, your intention is to kill somebody. Pure and simple and you can dress it up as "self defense" if you want, but it's still Killing Some Human Being. By the way, an AK 47 or any other military rifle isn't a hunting device. Unless you want to gut-shoot the animal thus rendering the meat really unsafe

Rock papers scissors blunderbuss

US Army says our GIs may need bigger guns. No, better history lessons. It appears as if America's gun makers are lobbying for another US standard issue. The stories are creeping into the newswires that US soldiers need bigger guns. Our 5.56mm isn't enough stopping power anymore, which explains the relentless insurgencies, they're not stopping. Well, making historical comparisons isn't going to serve your argument. 17247

Yeee-Haww! Gun Totin’ Elmer Fudd students to plan next Columbine at CU

Of course, they don't want to actually shoot PEOPLE, mind you, just the faceless (to them) threats like Liberals, Blacks, "meskins" Indians, Ay-Rabs, and anybody smarter than themselves. --Dudes, I'll put this to you bluntly... carrying a Gun is not going to turn you into a Bad-ass. Rambo was a movie. A work of Fiction. John Wayne was an Actor and to the best of anybody's knowledge never shot anybody. Every single one of his movies, including the "historical dramas" was a work of Fiction. I know, he didn't star in Rambo, but the same logic applies to Sylvester Stallone. Your fears about whichever of Your Fellow Americans you intend to shoot or try to intimidate into submission with your Big Bad Gun won't go away, and neither will the people you think will be intimidated by Your Big Bad Gun. 16034
