Pullout from Afghanistan? not for another 3 years..

BBC had a story "An hour away from Kabul, despair grows as NATO discusses exit..." Meaning, the BBC is required to report that the war is a positive thing for Afghan people so they focus on government officials who got their jobs handed to them by the American and British Conquerors and Occupiers errr "liberators and nation builders" and will, justifiably, have their heads handed to them by people who had friends and family (anybody in Afghanistan) Murdered, raped, imprisoned and tortured by the NATO Occupation forces. And the reader/listener is supposed to take pity on these poor, sad, wretched pathetic Traitors who sold their own people to the invaders as a means of gaining Puppet Local Dictator status. Awwwwww.... Shed a fake tear with me, Glenn Beck showed us how, put Vicks Vapo-Rub under your eyes... On the other hand, if 3 more years of the Mightiest Empire on earth wouldn't be enough time to build up a sense of safety in the Karzhai Puppet Regime, how long WOULD it take? Analysts who aren't in the pay of the Pentagon say there's no way, and that if the occupation succeeds it could only be by being Permanent. Finally, in other news, Oceania has ALWAYS been at war with Eastasia.

Karl Rove admits error in Iraq strategy

ERROR? wtf? Since when, exactly, does a long string of bald-faced Lies work out as being mistakes? Saying something is orange when it's actually red is a "mistake". Losing count of how many beers you drank before getting behind the wheel is a "mistake". Voting for Bush once would be a "mistake" and twice would be unspeakable stupidity, (or Complicity).   Underestimating the strength of the will of Human Beings to not be conquered, murdered and robbed might be a very large and stupid mistake, but once it's been pointed out that it never works and has historically FAILED every damn time, then it becomes Sheer Arrogance to push on with it. Not a "mistake". After being warned, calling everybody who warned you "Traitors, Idiots, Moonbats, Bleeding Hearts, Deluded, Crazy, Terrorist Sympathizers" and so forth, then having your collective nose rubbed in the big steaming pile of your own "mistake"... and then pushing on... that's not a "mistake". That's, in the case of sending Americans to kill and die for your money and your arrogance, Treason. And Murder. Thousands of counts of Capital Murder just for the American Soldiers, made airtight Capital Murder by the Patriot Act and several Executive Orders that Karl Rove wrote. Any one count of a serviceman murdered by their treasonous actions would get the entire Bush Administration including Rove and their Ministry of Propaganda Fox News HANGED. Much as I'm opposed to Capital Punishment, I believe I'd buy tickets to the event. Then there are the murders of Iraqi and Afghan and Somali and Sudanese and Pakistani and Uighur and Filipino and the list goes on Civilians and Prisoners of War, Each one of them an act of Capital Murder by reason of it being Terrorism. And again, through the definitions provided by Rove and Jeb Bush and Condi Rice and their fellow PNAC Imperialists. Which one would be a Mistake?

Errant missile a setback for 12 Afghans

NATO spokesmen are preempting accusations of insensitivity concerning two US rockets which killed twelve Afghan civilians in Marjah, the latest operation against the Taliban. Six of the unintended victims were children. Military brass are expressing worry that such collateral damage will prove a setback to winning the hearts and minds over the latest US antipersonnel maneuvers. US Marines are complaining that new rules of engagements are making the fighting more arduous and protracted. The stricter rules dictate that US soldiers cannot fire at people unless they commit a hostile act or show intent. This new policy abides by Geneva Conventions, meaning the earlier rules did not. Before its resurged insurgence, Fallujah was not considered a setback. In other headlines, Secretary of State Clinton declared that Iran is heading toward being a military-led regime, the potential of nuclear weapons posing a terrifying threat. I don't know about Iran, can we say that about the USA?

About Afghanistan, shoot the messenger

This time let's learn something from the travesty of Vietnam. The interests which drove US soldiers into the hamlets of Southeast Asia are directing the massacres today. We call them the hawks, as if war was mere blood sport. Though South Vietnamese collaborators were forced to flee for their lives from Saigon, their US cohorts were never held to account. This time as America extricates itself from terrorizing Afghanistan, let's note those among us with blood on our hands and prosecute. Not the soldiers, but the warmongers in the charge: those commanders who every month reported the war "is still winnable" those propagandists who blamed the failure of occupation on waning public resolve, those politicians who rationalized inhumanity, and the war industrialists, all of them.

Black Pirates meted Southern Justice

Dutch NATO forces rescued 20 hostages off the coast of Africa last week without loss of life. They thwarted a pirate attack, confiscated the booty, but must release the captured pirates owing to International Maritime Law. Contrast this with American cowboy rules of engagement. Several US Navy warships faced a solitary lifeboat on which three teenage Somali pirated held hostage Maersk Alabama captain Richard Phillips. The covered lifeboat remained tethered to the stern of one of the Navy ships while negotiations, we're told, progressed. Going into day three, before the American TV audience could lose interest, US Navy Seals rescued the captive Phillips at a cost of a 100% casualty rate to the pirates. Although the DoD did not initially want to reveal its anti-pirate tactics, spokesmen have admitted that the "daring rescue" was in effect three precisely-simultaneous sniper shots to the heads of the three captors. The fourth pirate already having been entrusted to the US ship's custody for medical care. The captain freed, the wounded pirate's collateral was thus gone, and his grant of safe-passage was rescinded. The official story is that US infrared imagery revealed that the American captive's life was in danger. One of the pirates was holding a gun to his head, and this act prompted the snipers to intervene. Negotiations, apparently, were not proving fruitful. I'm guessing that this account reflects the exact opposite of what happened. The navy snipers had been holding their fire until the moment Captain Phillip was NOT in a pirate's crosshairs. Although the Somali pirates were just teens, I bet they knew from brutal experience, what most of us know from violent television, that holding your gun to a hostage's head is the only way to prevent your rivals from gunning you down. Trapped in a lifeboat, the pirates knew that high powered US weaponry would be trained upon each of their heat silhouettes. The moment their captive was not in the predicted trajectory of the crossfire, nor threatened by a collateral death-spasm squeeze of a trigger, the pirates would be toast. The rescue operation began with a greater-than-three number of US snipers aiming weapons at the little boat. The more the better, to assure that at every instant, complicated by the rocking and turning of the lifeboat in the waves, at least one sniper could claim one pirate, without the hostage laying vulnerable to leeward bullets. The images in the sniper scopes were wired to a director's console, where the determination could be made when all three targets were spoken for, and the order could be given to fire. The last hurdle remained for the pirate who held his gun on the hostage to drop his guard for just an instant, lest he squeeze off a round into the hostage. Wanna bet that's what happened? Great marksmanship, no question. Plenty of training no doubt. We can take nothing away from the heroism shown in braving responsibility for jeopardizing Captain Phillip's life. It is probably also a common law

Pro-US gov defeated in Czech Republic

The current leadership of the Czech Republic has been defeated by opposition parties, but corporate US and UK news outlets aren't reporting the whole of why it happened. Global Network activist and hunger striker, Jan Tamas writes from Prague: Dear friends, I am very happy to announce that the Czech government has fallen. The Parliament voted the no-confidence. For us it is a great victory: we knew that the only way to stop the installation of the US radar base was the fall of the government and we worked for more than 2 years in this direction with permanence and coherence. A government that represented the interests of the US military industry has fallen. Our work has been fundamental in encouraging the members of the Parliament who already were against the radar and to spread doubts in the ones who were in favor. And it was just the change of mind of some deputies that made the fall of the government possible. On the other hand, pressed by the hunger strike, the Social-Democratic Party had to take a clear position supporting us and this will make it more difficult for them in the future to change their opinion about the radar. The collaboration with the Communist Party, that has always supported our initiatives, has been decisive as well. Thanks to all of you for the support you gave us in many activities, support that was critical. Thanks to all the pacifist organizations, thanks to the members of the European Parliament who believed in our fight, thanks to the mayors of different countries, thanks to the Humanist Movement, that allowed this protest to expand to many European countries and to reach other continents. A great space should be given to this news. Now the US must rearrange their plans because of the protest of a people who don't want foreign troops on this territory. And the invading armies should withdraw from all the occupied territories of the world. Now it is necessary to develop a strong opposition to the "Star Wars" and in favor of the nuclear disarmament also in other countries. Now in the Czech Republic a new chapter of our struggle begins. A strong hug Jan Tamas Prague, Czech Republic

NO TO NATO Protest 2009

A No to NATO Protest 2009 is being organized in Strasbourg, France, but where is the US Antiwar Movement? A similar protest against NATO should and could be built on the same date in Washington DC at the Pentagon, so why does the American Antiwar Community always give NATO a free ride? Look below at the organizing committee for the Strasbourg event and notice how the US antiwar Community is simply MIA. That's very sad... No to NATO Protest Saturday 4th April 2009 - Sunday 5th April 2009 Details to be confirmed.................................................. A protest is being organised outside the NATO conference in Strasbourg, France marking the 60th anniversary of NATO. Sixty years of NATO are enough. NATO is the main driving force behind global war. NATO stands for the missile defense system, military bases around the world, nuclear weapons and military interventions and expenditure. NATO is a rival to the UN and the system of international law, and it is intertwined with the European security and defense system. But NATO is not all-powerful, indeed it is under extreme pressure right now in Afghanistan. Members of the open preparation committee for the protest at the 60th anniversary of NATO include: Arielle Denis (Le Mouvement de la Paix, France) Reiner Braun (IALANA, speaker of Cooperation for Peace, Germany) Chris Nineham (Stop the War Coalition, UK) Tobias Pflüger (MEP, IMI, Germany) Thomas Magnusson (International Peace Bureau, Sweden) Sotiris Kontogiannis (Stop the War Coalition, Greece) Elaheh Rostami Povey (Stop the War Coalition, UK/Iran) Peter Strutynski (Federal Committee Peace Council, Germany) International Peace Bureau (IPB) International Network of Engineers and Scientists for Global Responsibility (INES) International Association of Lawyers against Nuclear Arms (IALANA Europe) War Resisters' International International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW), Germany Le Mouvement de la Paix, France Stop the War Coalition, Great Britain Stop the War Coalition, Greece Cooperation for Peace, Germany Federal Committee Peace Council, Germany Further details of the NO TO NATO demonstration will be available shortly. Somalia and the Pentagon Pirates of the Indian Ocean

It is a clear indication of how iron clad government controlled is the US corporate press that news reporting about Somalia in the last couple of weeks has been centered on the stoning to death of a young girl and 'pirates'. Never mind those millions of starving refugees in the country that the Pentagon has created, it's 'Indiana Jones' time here for the American media! And pirates are always fun to play with! But who are the real pirates off the coast of Somali in the Indian Ocean? Asia Times Online gives us some insight into just that question... NATO reaches into the Indian Ocean India was once a neutral player in the old Cold War, but not anymore these days and times. The US has captured another satellite government to use in its geopolitical warfare against China and Russia... and that country is India. That old ally of the US, Pakistan?... well let's just say that their new role is to be turned into a battlefield zone in Southern Asia for the Pentagon. The US based military industrial complex needs to get the Pentagon firmly into that region for more sales for them to be funded from US taxpayers. How better to keep the welfare system for them going? They need Federal 'bailout'! As to the Somali 'pirates' seizing ships inside their coastal waters? Look at it from their viewpoint? Nobody complained much about the US/ Ethiopian piracy in their homeland, now did they? How about those $300,000,000 of fish annually pirated from their coastal waters by international fisheries based in other countries? Who cares about fish piracy stealing from the starving Somalians? Did you even hear about it? Then why not Somali 'pirates' getting into the big game? The US government is into a big geopolitical play to corner the world's last remaining natural resources away from China and Russia. Southern Asia is the new zone of combat and the Indian Ocean sits strategically placed between Asia and Africa and most of all, the Middle East. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization is now into piracy in the Indian Ocean in a big way, all under the direction of the USA, and that wonderful little building in Northern Virginia, the Pentagon! Peace Now, Y'all. I'm sure that Obama plans to deliver 'PEACE'... lol. He's going to fight the Big Bad 'pirates' in Africa!

US imperialism in check with Detente

First there's Georgia, where Russia pushes back US efforts to muscle further NATO expansion. Then in our own hemisphere, Bolivia and Venezuela expel their US ambassadors, as Russian long range bombers land in South America in advance of joint naval maneuvers in the Caribbean. It's not a resumption of the Cold War with the USSR, Russia is advancing no Communist Iron Curtain. But could a rival super power, in league with the unaligned nations, be a challenge to US hegemony? We could hope so.

The NATO tug of war

The US and Britain are pulling NATO in one direction and France and Germany seem increasingly rather reluctant to follow along. The US wants a NATO ready to start nuclear war with Russia and ready to dismember Pakistan's national integrity, but the French and German governments don't seem fully on board this imperialistic US game plan. They sit by silently in apparent disbelief, as the US also foments civil war in Ukraine. As a result of this French and German discord with the US war drive, NATO has issued a comment or two that it will not participate in US destruction inside Pakistan. NATO says won't take part in Pakistan raids And France and Germany have tried to bargain with Russia separate from the US about the Georgia/ US-Russian conflict, but without any real success. Inside the US, we have seen no split in the unity of the ruling 2 parties in their apparently united desire to push conflict with Russia to the wire. We have seen not the faintest sign that there is any disagreement at all between the DP and RP over dragging Pakistan further into civil war pushed by outside forces, i.e. the US government. There has been no apparent Democratic Party response to Palin's comments that she was ready to war with Russia. And the DP-voting bloggers have even gone along totally, too. There is a clear US government drive to increase world conflict in order to establish yet more US hegemony across the planet. Americans as a whole seem utterly content with this at the moment, since they still see no price to pay that will involve themselves. Such a level of ignorance and stupidity is truly disheartening, and Americans will ultimately discover what a catastrophe they went along with as their leaders plotted and planned.

Nawabad Afghanistan civilian casualties

Oops. US military spokesmen have had to do an about-face on their account of the NATO air raid on Nawabad which may have killed in excess of 60 Afghan children. It turns out a western doctor on the scene the next day made a video record on his cell phone which depicted more bodies than the US Special Forces had admitted, by a factor of too many. UN and Afghan representatives are calling for an investigation into the over 90 casualties. Their counts are corroborated by the villagers and eyewitnesses. The official US and NATO casualty figure is still eight. This is the number recorded by the ISAF soldiers and corroborated by an embed reporter, working for none other than Fox News, and being none other than Oliver North!

Confusing actuarial lies for statistics

LYING WITH STATISTICS. It's a worn truism, but what do you do when the public's mathematical literacy ebbs ever lower? Lie without statistics. Give new meaning to mean, median and average. Use false statistics to reinforce the new lie. Here are a couple ugly examples. ISAF Air Raid on Nawabad Afghans are up in arms about a recent US air raid in Herat Province which they say claimed more than 90 lives, the majority of which were children. US spokesmen claim the death toll was not ninety, but five, er, eight. A disparity which they explain could be complicated by the rubble from the bombs. US puppet Hamid Karzai is standing by the Nawabad villagers, likewise is the UN. So it's NATO and the US versus Afghanistan and the UN, as to whether the NATO International Security Assistance Force air raid should be investigated so that Karzai might be able to assure his people that US warplanes will be more careful next time. The US press have been phrasing their interviews like mediators hoping to find a middle ground figure to reconcile the vastly disparate casualty record. But is that how casualties of war are accounted for? Can you imagine OJ refuting his ex-wife's demise? Would a criminal court consider that an agreeable fraction of Nicole Simpson was murdered that night? LA law enforcement found two bodies on the front steps of Nicole's Brentwood residence. Just as tangibly, survivors on the ground in Afghanistan were able to count their missing. Journalists, UN workers, and Afghan authorities on our payroll have had access to the bodies, graves and witnesses. American military personnel admit they may not know the full extent of the casualties, conceding that some might have been buried in the stony debris. Consider how horribly disingenuous is this admission. We've all seen the leaked aerial gun-sight video footage on which we know the airmen can see every heat-emiting body. The bombers and their command-center triggermen on land can see little white bodies running around before they are hit, and then the faint gray pieces of human beings as the warmth leaves their ex-lives. Thus, American soldiers are lying, to whatever degree it makes a difference. Regardless, is the murder of civilians any place to equivocate with median approximations? Bisphenol A Here's another example in pharmaceutical news. Studies have been released to show that the chemical Bisphenol A is a danger to humans. Well, news presenters well tied to the chem-agra-pharma industry are careful to note that some of the scientific results are inconclusive. So we have, on one side, harmful, and on the other, uncertain, championed by the FDA. The corporate media advises us that the conclusion probably lies somewhere in the middle. Oh? It's a toss up, is it? Heads and tails is a toss up. Heads --and can't read the face of the coin exactly-- is heads. Bisphenol A harms human brain activity, or at best, half-harms it. We're muddied or partially muddied. It takes evidence to the contrary to muddle a middle. The corporate media

American barbarians at work in Afghanistan

....An operation by international forces in western Afghanistan on Friday killed 76 civilians, including 50 children and 19 women, the Afghan interior ministry said. Many of the cowardly American barbarians that bomb civilians from way up on high received their military 'combat' training right here in Colorado Springs. I shouldn't really call this training to slaughter children from high up in the air combat training though. Coalition air strikes kill 76 Afghan civilians: Govt Where's the combat in this? These people who train to fly for the Pentagon are merely cowardly careerists who don't give a damn about people at all.

Pedantic US Pentagon hectoring of Russia continues

The US and its allies continue to try to bully and lecture Russia about Russia's rebuttal of NATO-Pentagon's' push toward going to war with them. But surprise! This won't work. Russia says withdrawal complete The DC government thugs and buffoons can hiss and howl all they want, alongside their civilian Empire propaganda media cohorts, but Russia is fed up with US imperialism and will no longer be cajoled to just retreat worldwide. What are all the pacifist types in the US 'Peace' babble Movement going to do now, talk more Church? We need a real antiwar movement and one that knows what's really going on and that has backbone enough to stand up to the Democratic Party's efforts to control and derail all protest. Russia is drawing a line and will not continue to let NATO just advance. They are in the right and we need to organize to stop our own country's imperialist war making now! Iraq is just a sideshow in what the neocons and Pentagon are now engaged in doing.

Russia rejects NATO, refuses to be dismembered like Yugoslavia and Iraq

When the Russian Communist Party re-established capitalism in the former Soviet Union, its top misleaders at the time(including Putin) thought that the place that Russia would be granted in the new world disorder would be somewhat akin to the position that Germany, France, and Italy are granted by the US. These Russian top dogs thought that they would become the new capitalist politicos of capitalist junior partner national governments underneath the broad US Empire's umbrella. Poor students of Lenin these guys were indeed. Things started to look very sour as living standards plummeted everywhere in the fSU, not least of all in Russia itself. Then the US began to play off bits and pieces of the fSU against itself, kind of like they are now doing in Iraq. These sad sack formerSoviet Union leaders looked on sadly as they saw Yugoslavia dismembered piece by piece after piece. Divide and conquer, not assimilate and assist as they had rather simply believed would be the case. Putin is now a leader of a bloc of politicians, generals, and other assorted big wigs in the new Russian capitalist state. They now have lost their previous delusions entirely. They correctly see that it was never meant to be that they would be offered integration into junior partnership with the US and its Western European Klan. The US-Brit kingdom wants only to turn Russia into a gigantic, but utterly divided colony to better plunder the natural resources there. Russia has had its back against the wall and it has not been able to consolidate an alliance with India and China against the US Empire. The US has so far successfully managed to divide and play off these 3 countries against themselves. Russia is backed against a wall as the US occupies Iraq and Afghanistan and is set to do the same with Iran, and has moved the missile systems of US-NATO into forward positions everywhere. Russia knows that the US government thinks and wants that it can win a nuclear war against them, and has funded and worked to do so for the last 2 decades, not to mention the many decades when Russia was the core of the fSoviet Union. Further the Russians know that the forces for Peace inside the US and its allied countries are weak, play stupid, and are largely ineffective barriers to the war drive of our governments. They cannot look to these forces as brakes on our own governments. We are at a scary moment because Russia is starting to refuse to be pushed around any further, yet the thugs that head the US government up have convinced themselves they can bully Russia down all the more, and not less. They think that they can destroy 'the enemy', independent countries everywhere. and their arrogance can very well become the fall of us all.... the cause

Algerian torture academy blown sky high

Suicide attack at Algerian police academy kills 43 in corporate newspeak from the Associated Press. Let's translate that to Torture Academy blown sky high by Amnesty International.   Might it well have been one of the family members of the disappeared and/or tortured victims that was what the corporate Christian Jihad press calls a "suicide bomber?"   PS. I wonder why those ten French soldiers got blown away in Afghanistan?

‘Missile shield’, or nuclear war weapon placement in Poland?

It is a sign of the Orwellian double speak of our imperialist capitalist Empire times, that a weapon to wage nuclear war with is now being called a 'missile defence shield'. See Polish President Lech Kaczynski stressed the missile defence shield was purely a defensive system and not a threat Of course it is no such thing, but rather is instead weaponry designed to help win a nuclear war for a US Empire that is straining at its reins to fight one. Seeing how the US has advanced its systems for waging nuclear war into being placed in The Czech Republic and Poland, it is easy to see why the former Soviet Union did what it did in Hungary in 1956. It invaded the small satellite country in Eastern Europe to militarily protect itself from an aggressive empire. Russia today is a capitalist country but that has not stopped the US Empire from continuing to try to militarily dominate it. Like in 1956 Russia has to currently decide just how far it will allow an offensive military system designed to win a nuclear war against it to advance itself toward its borders? Georgia was their limit, and so is Ukraine. We have to ask ourselves though, why is our capitalist economy so intent on 'winning' a nuclear war? Is this written into our for-profit economic system? Ask yourself....?

Russia should no longer try to appease US/NATO imperialism

Russia and China have been trying to stay out of the line of fire by appeasing the US/NATO drive for perpetual war, but it has not worked, will not work, and cannot work. Russia should not pull its troops out of the Abkhazia and South Ossetia regions, areas considered by the US/NATO to be part of their new country of Georgia, which the US set up at the fall of the former Soviet Union. These regions are actually full of other nationalities other than just Georgians, and have absolutely no reason to be considered Georgian property at all by the rest of the world. Further, the whole question of what exactly should be considered Georgia territory and what should be considered territory of other peoples is not the central question in this US versus Russia conflict. Much of the area surrounding the borders of Russia, as much of Russian territory itself, is a land where multi nationalities reside. This area of world territory lies far away from American territory and outside of the US, where our corporate dictatorship located in Washington DC now wants to dictate the fates of other peoples of the world. The Pentagon and the US government that directs it is trying to position itself to win a world nuclear war that they might potentially decide to fight against Russia and/or China, and that's really what this current flare up of US-Russian hostilities is actually about. The American people need to stop playing stupid about this and begin to more actively oppose the war drive of our government. Russia should stand firm against this US sponsored aggression that began way before the last round in South Ossetia. It will not serve them or us to give in to the threats of the US government and NATO at this point, since every time in the past they have done so has simply just led to more bloodshed. Our corporate dictatorship in DC does not represent the interests of the American people, nor any peoples of the world today. It threatens us all with a future unlivable planet, and continual warfare on the road to that horrifying future for Planet Earth.

Poland, Ukraine and Georgia are three troops in US battle plan against Russia

The US is advancing its battle plans against Russia on multiple military fronts, with Georgia, Ukraine, and Poland being the most key ones. That is not to forget about US missile plans in The Czech Republic and the US manipulations in other tiny nation-lets now under at least partial US command, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. All this NATO-Pentagon joint buildup against Russia goes on under a virtual blackout of media coverage. Shhhh.... says the corporate press. It's not news you need to know. Russia is vocally telling the US what it plans to do about this, and we should all be up in arms about the Pentagon game plans for conflict with Russia. Russia could strike Poland over U.S. shield: report But quite frankly, with all 'resistance' contained by the Democratic Party, Americans are basically a flock of passive sheep. Add to that, the antiwar movement under liberal church direction is now dead asleep. What are you personally doing to help change all that? Oh, and does that 'missile Defense Agency' logo seem somewhat familiar? Head on over to Colorado Springs' Schriever Air Force Base to see who's goading on a possible nuclear war with Russia? You can see that logo there once again.

How the US and Georgia violated the South Ossetia peace plan

The Russians have issued a peace plan for Georgia and the US to accept, and SURPRISE! It's the same peace plan that was in place before, which the US and Georgia violated by entering and attacking South Ossetia. The peace plan calls for non- aggression in South Ossetia to be monitored by peacekeeping troops. FACTBOX-Peace plan for Georgia: what is it? This peace plan is essentially the same one that the European Union has already proposed and that was already once in place. However, it is obvious to all that the US and Georgian governments do not feel in the least obligated to abide by this plan since they have already violated it once by unilatrally sending troops into South Ossetia. Further the official US government propaganda mills in the US (the New York Times, Washington Post, George Dubya Bush, Rice, etc.) have made it clear with their continued belligerency that this attack on South Ossetia was only the beginning of the continued US government plan to now constantly attack Russia. They have no desire at all to retreat despite the human suffering their war plans are causing. They want to control the natural resources of Asia for US corporate interests and that is all that counts for them. It seems clear that this is the new Republican plan to try to advance John McCain's chances for entering into the White House, too, and since the Democrats share the same foreign policy goals of the Republicans they will not be able to counter the Republican offensive but will instead echo everything the Bush Administration does. The Republican plan is to simply reignite Cold War rhetoric against the nationalist capitalist regime of the country today named Russia, and to attack the Democratic Party for being supposedly weak in this campaign. Liberal pacifists and academic Left Libertarians in the Peace Movement are also not prepared to do anything against this new neocon propaganda offensive against Russia. They also tag along with the Republicans spewing out constant anti- Chinese and anti- Russia vitriol all on their own. Their mantra has always been merely a call to equally and incessantly blame victims of US aggression alongside the blame they toss out against the US government for causing the chaos and conflict in the world today. But how can a US Antiwar Movement be built on such a foundation like that? In fact, you hardly see these people active even going through the motions of organizing a US Antiwar Movement. It is all talk and writing for the liberal community that they are engaged in and propagandizing for, and nothing of real organizing an Antiwar Movement. By equalizing responsibility as they do, in fact they expose themselves as being US nationalists themselves despite their criticisms of the US corporate government, simply because who is to blame is not equal at all in the least. Russia

Bush sicks Georgia onto Russia and the Democrats tag along

We are not seeing much protest against the joint Georgia-US-governments' game in South Ossetia from the American liberal community, because DP voting liberals sense that the political party they continue to follow like sheep, The Democratic Party, is tagging along behind the Neocon game plan, enabling it to continue and multiply its negative results to peace worldwide. Obama is as quiet as a church mouse about how Georgia began the hostilities by bombarding civilians in South Ossetia. He's an imperialist behind NATO aggression, every bit as much as Dick Cheney's troops are. You won't hear Obama contradicting the crap coming out of DC from Dubya Bush that declares Russia supposedly initiated this conflict. It is hard to get away from the reality though, that Georgia began this conflict by murdering several thousand innocent civilians and causing thousands of others to become refugees from their homes. It was an effort by the Georgia government to ethnically cleanse a troubling region for themselves. Washington now wants to spin their war effort in another manner altogether, and the Democratic Party aligned liberal intellectuals are mute. The blame game has them attacking Russia instead of owning up to what they, the US government, authorized the Georgian government to do.

South Ossetia a land grab by US Georgia

The US is decrying Russian aggression in South Ossetia, a breakaway province of Georgia, itself a breakaway of the ex-Soviet states. Georgia is a US proxy and a NATO beachhead aimed toward Russia and the Middle East. South Ossetia is a critical part. Here's analysis from Global Research: War in the Caucasus: Towards a Broader Russia-US Military Confrontation? By Michel Chossudovsky, Global Research, August 10, 2008 During the night of August 7, coinciding with the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics, Georgia's president Saakashvili ordered an all-out military attack on Tskhinvali, the capital of South Ossetia. The aerial bombardments and ground attacks were largely directed against civilian targets including residential areas, hospitals and the university. The provincial capital Tskhinvali was destroyed. The attacks resulted in some 1500 civilian deaths, according to both Russian and Western sources. "The air and artillery bombardment left the provincial capital without water, food, electricity and gas. Horrified civilians crawled out of the basements into the streets as fighting eased, looking for supplies." (AP, August 9, 2008). According to reports, some 34,000 people from South Ossetia have fled to Russia. (Deseret Morning News, Salt Lake City, August 10, 2008) The importance and timing of this military operation must be carefully analyzed. It has far-reaching implications. Georgia is an outpost of US and NATO forces, on the immediate border of the Russian Federation and within proximity of the Middle East Central Asian war theater. South Ossetia is also at the crossroads of strategic oil and gas pipeline routes. Georgia does not act militarily without the assent of Washington. The Georgian head of State is a US proxy and Georgia is a de facto US protectorate. Who is behind this military agenda? What interests are being served? What is the purpose of the military operation. There is evidence that the attacks were carefully coordinated by the US military and NATO. Moscow has accused NATO of "encouraging Georgia". Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov underscored the destabilizing impacts of "foreign" military aid to Georgia: . “It all confirms our numerous warnings addressed to the international community that it is necessary to pay attention to massive arms purchasing by Georgia during several years. Now we see how these arms and Georgian special troops who had been trained by foreign specialists are used,” he said.(Moscow accuses NATO of having "encouraged Georgia" to attack South Ossetia, Russia Today, August 9, 2008) Moscow's envoy to NATO, Dmitry Rogozin, sent an official note to the representatives of all NATO member countries: “Russia has already begun consultations with the ambassadors of the NATO countries and consultations with NATO military representatives will be held tomorrow," Rogozin said. "We will caution them against continuing to further support of Saakashvili." “It is an undisguised aggression accompanied by a mass propaganda war,” he said. (See Moscow accuses NATO of having "encouraged Georgia" to attack South Ossetia, Russia Today, August 9, 2008) According to Rogozin, Georgia had initially planned to:

The US spreads its aggression from the Balkans to the Caucasus region

Tskhinvali, capital of South Ossetia.   The attack of the Georgian military, allied with the US and NATO, against Russian supported South Ossetia has widened the US military encirclement of Russia to another level and another region. The US Antiwar Movement has slept in the years since the ex-Soviet Union fell from the blows of the Cold War and ignored the continued US belligerence towards a now capitalist Russia. Much of this 'Peace' Movement consists of liberals immersed in a reactionary campaign against China, another nation that the Pentagon and US government are waging a world war against, though the fighting between these 2 countries now is mainly at the level of propaganda wars. In regards to China, the liberal 'Peacenics' find themselves allied more with the Pentagon than they do with their beloved abstract 'nonviolence' religion. And they definitely are allied with voting for the Democratic Party, a pro-war party of the corporations. Most of the liberal US and European Left actively supported the US-NATO bombardment of Yugoslavia, so they are even more poorly placed to understand the inter relationship between the previous fighting in the Balkans, and the now hot eruption of war in South Ossetia and Georgia. In short, they are in a total fog of complete ignorance about how the bipartisan US government has promoted policies of aggression towards Russia that has led up to this new fighting. The liberals that make up the 'Peace Community' don't like to come to grips with the realities of US society at all. They want to think that if they just tinker a little that the whole nation will begin to see how righteous they are. They are on Cloud Nine when it comes to understanding basic US geopolitics around the Globe, and their idea of a 'Peace' Rapture is totally void of reality. This is a hard fight and they are only into offering a choreographed film of 'resistance', not roughing it out to build an Antiwar Movement any larger than their small liberal church followings. We can expect a surge of international propaganda pushed by the US government and its allies where they promote themselves though the media as being goodhearted and completely disinterested observers of this fighting from afar. Far from that, the US and its allies are flat smack dab in the middle of the responsibility for this Georgian attack on South Ossetia, and Russia is unlikely to back off and allow the US con game much room for maneuver. Russia tried to warn the US and its allies that making Kosovo an independent country would provoke this sort of new fighting where their country would be directly involved and utterly resistant to being forced to surrender their own national interests before the onslaught of US aggression. But the hawks in the US government, both DP and RP hawks, would have none of it and today we are

Afghans persist in face of annihilation

Horror! The Taliban is reported to have taken back a half-dozen Afghan towns around Kandahar. It's an inevitable development of course, the catastrophic consequences of which will be equally unavoidable if America sticks to its guns on the matter. Refugees are already pouring out of the areas. Are they fleeing the Taliban fighters? From the reports of our jingoist embed press, how will we ever know? I'm pretty sure the Afghan refugees are fleeing our retaliatory air strikes, which are certain as rain to blanket every living occupant now determined by US precision weapons to be dark skinned combatants. It will be like Waco without the interminable siege. Who are we kidding? Our unmanned drones are named "Predators" and "Reapers." They're armed with missiles of "Hellfire."

NATO, Ukraine’s Orange Counter-Revolution

Ukraine President Viktor Yushchenko is a US puppet who wants to push Ukraine into NATO, although less than 30% of the Ukraine public backs the idea. NATO head pledges to forge consensus on Ukraine NATO is an offensive war alliance, led by the US government, whose main current goal in the world is to dominate China and Russia. Why doesn't the US 'Peace' community talk about NATO more and oppose the alliance for war? The answer is simple. The Democratic Party is thoroughly supportive of NATO, and the leadership of all these liberal church fed 'peace' groups is thoroughly tied into Democratic Party dope pushing, so you won't see them talk about NATO much at all, except perhaps to call on NATO to militarily intervene in Darfur and Kosovo, and even to occupy these areas. Absent is any call for NATO to get out of Afghanistan, too. The so-called Ukraine 'Orange Revolution' is in fact a counter-revolutionary, counter democracy movement largely funded from Western Europe, the US, and Canada. It is an anti-Russian movement, despite the fact that many Russians live in Ukraine itself. We need to watch these scoundrels as they try to get the US to take over Ukraine militarily through NATO. We need to demand that NATO be eliminated, not spread further throughout the world. The US Antiwar Movement must open its eyes and ears! The time to do so about NATO is upon us.
