Nineteen years

That's how long it's been. I fell, at work, on this date 19 years ago. Broke the talus, cuboid, and fourth metatarsal on the right foot and dislocated the foot (it looked like Joe Theissman's ankle when the Cowboys got him)(and then lost the game with zero points anyway) and my left tibial plateau. (man I was messed up from the pain last night, I had his name written as Jes) As horrendous as that damage was, it could actually have been treated. They patched the bones together into more or less anatomical position then told me the screws and plate they used would be taken out in two years, and with therapy I would make a good recovery. The pendejo who had the bright idea of saving money by not buyng a second ladder for the second jobsite, and instead taking the ladder to one site and leaving us to walk up and down a conveyor belt like a ramp, promised he would make it right on the medical care. Well, danged if that ol' boy didn't just sell his company to his brother and skip state so as not to pay me a damn thing. The Mega-Rich excusez moi Tera Rich

Shit I learned in school

...because, really, I DO believe there's a deliberate sabotage of Public Education being done simply by handing a "liberal" program over to be administered by "conservatives". In 7th grade in Texas you're taught Texas History. Some of it would be almost unrecognizable from a Yankee point of view. For instance, we were taught that the Civil War wasn't about slavery, it was about State's Rights. State's Rights to spend civic money and exercise military and police powers to enforce slavery. We were also told, and I have reason to believe that it's gotten worse, we were told that the Slaves were well treated, given decent food and housing, and Medical Care. Happy Days on de ol' Plantation wif all de Darkies singin' and happy and de Massa jes' lubbin all of dem! O, de sun shines bright on my old Kentucky home it's summer and the darkies are gay... You smile and laugh and sing because the Massah would beat you and maybe have you killed if you indicated any dissatisfaction with the arrangement. It's that simple. The Slaves were all Happy and Content and Well Treated... so why do the Corporate Slaveholders of the Modern Plantation, the ones who advance this bald-face lie about how good

Bernie HerPin, Billionaire Propagandist Rush Limbaugh, have a lot in common

--Like business ties to BP. The USOC deal the City Council made was also a BP front.   Then there's their Anti-Worker ARROGANCE like this. Neither I nor Miss Johnnie can actually WALK anywhere. Both of us thrown to the wolves by the Corporatists, told that the medical treatments that could have kept us from becoming this badly disabled were “Too Expensive” and the Governments which THEY own, and are going to spend BILLIONS to stack with even more of their Greedy Political Whores, such as at local level our entire City Council, enforce that Corporate Welfare decision with "right to work" Slavery and "Tort Reform". 19395
