Hillary 2016 as Rosie the Riveter: like we really need another war-machinist.

You've seen meme: Hillary Clinton's face superimposed over Rosie the Riveter, the original image used to boost war production during WWII. It became a feminist icon in the 70s as historic proof women could do the job of men. Reprising the theme for Hillary 2016, Democratic party photoshoppers opted to erase the source of the original poster, as if it wasn't true now more than ever. I restored it. Hillary 2016, brought to you by the WAR PRODUCTION CO-ORDINATING COMMITTEE.

U.S. SOLDIERS ARE READYING FOR A MASSIVE DEPLOYMENT

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO- You thank them for their service. You support them, they're only following orders. You know they're not at liberty to divulge everything they do or WHERE. As their supporters you are complicit, but whatever. Now your soldiers are keeping a HUGE secret from you. They're GOING TO WAR. You'd think that would be too controversial to be a state secret. If you leave in a military town, near a base, fort or camp, you need only ask around. Pawn shops and car dealerships seem to have their finger on the pulse of troop movements for some reason. In Colorado Springs, everybody knows. Friends and neighbors have already deployed overseas to establish contractor services. Others in readiness training. Of course the big secret for awhile has been Africa. American soldiers have been involved in covert operations across Africa which none are still allowed to talk about. Those aren't undeclared wars, just police actions. This time, again, it's Iraq. Going back. I shall return. Are they waiting on Spring? Summer weather? The election? Commander in Chief Clinton? Likely. It used to be soldiers didn't talk about mobilization. "Loose lips sink ships" etc. Of course in those days the public knew the nation was at war. War had been declared on us, or a fascist belligerent attacked. Today when the US launches offensive wars, illegal wars they're called in the Hague, its troop movements have to be extra covert. Or not, actually, when mobilization is prelude to Shock and Awe. Troop sneakiness seems to be all about sneaking past the American pulbic. Sneaking past us to unknown conflict zones in Africa and Asia, sneaking past us to redeploy to Iraq. At some point those soldiers have to understand what they're doing is not only unpopular, it's likely wrong.

Who spends so much on weapons that they can’t feed or house their people?

North Korea's leader as a mere toddler -that's rich. Kim Jong Un is the preeminent adversary of our Pentagon. This New Yorker cover is wishful thinking I suppose if also insulting to our own sense of shame. The New Yorker depicts junior Kim's military success as child's play, though he continues to hold Western gunboat diplomacy in abeyance. The old saw is that North Korea has been starved of economic prosperty owing to its regime's unfettered militarism. Sound more like someone else you know? The US can't house its poor, can't feed its children, can't rebuild its infrastructure, nor provide safe drinking water to disfavored urban populations. The US spends more on war than everyone else put together. It can't provide healthcare. Even Kim Jong Un can do that. Likewise Un doesn't start wars, or expend ordnance to require the manufacture of more. North Korea's war footing isn't our capitalist sinkhole for weapons industry profiteers. That baby with the warheads would be better played by an average American preadolescent, shortly to be a PTSD'd amputee.

You want to protest a pro-rape rally? Try Veterans Day. Don’t feed the trolls.

DENVER, COLORADO- So-called men's rights advocates slash pick-up culture misogynists are making publicity for themseves by calling for rallies across the US to legalize rape. They suggest rape should be legal --in the home at least-- a sort of Stand Your Ground haven for wife-beaters. To indemnify domestic abuse. These liberated emasculates are nostalgic apparently for when most sexual assault stigmatized the victim and stayed in the closet unreported. These freaks are trolling, obviously, but prompting indignant cries to mobilize counterprotests. So much so that the reassert-your-male-privilege meet-ups have been cancelled. Reportedly. See that's the problem. It's Phelps Bundyism NAMBLAism enabling the corporate media to paint "activists" in sordid stripes. DO YOU WANT TO PROTEST AGAINST RAPE? Protest systemic rape by occupation forces, whoever's. Protest militarism. Protest American troops who try to rape 70% of their female soldiers and succeed with 40%, although who doubts that is underreported. Protest professional rapism to address the injustice of sexual violence. Let's be fair. Rapists are also victims of rape culture. Protest rape culture.

Denver pro-war rally gets Code Pinked!

DENVER, COLORADO- The No-Peace-For-Iran rally hosted by Zionist front group Americans Against Terrorism (AAT) on the capitol steps on Sunday was outnumbered by pro-Palestinian activists shouting from below. While one racist warmonger told the crowd "pay no attention to the kebabs on the sidewalk", a Code Pink activist was able to hold up a banner right in front of the podium. Her banner read: "STOP THE NEXT WAR NOW! WARMONGERS BEGET TERRORISTS!" but it took the audience a minute to register that her message clashed with theirs. Then she was grabbed and pulled forcibly away. The AAT rally was much smaller than the year previous. Enthusiasm for Christian Zionist end-time-ism, Islamophobia, anti-Iran sentiment, and Standing-with-Israel, appears to be expiring. Another measure of the success of the counterprotest was AAT deciding to take down a large Israeli flag which they'd draped on the capitol as a backdrop when antiwar activists arrived with a similarly blue-striped banner reading "Israel is a terrorist state". Along with Code Pink and Occupy Denver, counterprotest included many Jewish peace activists, even a couple who were Israeli. David Anderson, who took the photograph above and who insisted the pro-war goons unhand their unwelcome guest, described the scene thus: It should be noted that when Republicans and Israel call their group "Americans Against Terrorism". They mean the opposite, They want to bomb and terrorize Iran just as they have done in Palestine for years. This is a tired old trick that the citizens are catching on to. The AAT would not exist, were it not for the funds from Israel. Another smoke screen by Israel is to call their group "Americans". This is called; whip your friends into a frenzy, then get them to fight your battle for you. And there you have the reason this one small woman with a message of truth strikes fear into the hearts of liars and hypocrites.

USA, al-Qaeda, Saudi Arabia, and Israel are making war on people of Yemen

What an unGodly mess! The insanity that is US foreign policy in the Middle East is destroying totally yet another region still! However, nobody in the US has been paying much attention to Barack Obama's drone attacks inside Yemen nor the D.C. regime's support for Saudi Arabian funded Islamic terrorism world wide, except when the blowback really gets hot. And now it's beginning to heat up, because the people of Yemen are sick of US and Saudi imposed terrorism against them. The israelis go along for the bloody war mongering ride, too, since much of the Yemen population is supportive of Iran. And that of course is also why Saudi Arabia is spearheading the new fighting. See Yemen crisis: Who is fighting whom? for some much needed background info in regard to the hellhole that US foreign policy has made inside Yemen.   Yemen is one of the world's great cultures with great food, music, and beautiful architecture. See Music of Yemen, Sana'a - Ya Rabbat el-Husn (Oh Goddess of Beauty) to sample some of the music. These are the people that the war mongers will be killing....

When Michael Moore said snipers are cowards, he gave Americans a pass

Michael Moore criticized AMERICAN SNIPER for glamorizing snipers, because they are in essence cowards who shoot victims in the back. It hit home, no doubt because exploiting the unfair advantage, shooting people unseen, doesn't just apply to soldiers who carry sniper rifles. The act of targeting people who can't fight back is carried out by many more specialists than snipers. It applies to helicopter gunners, soldiers who shoot civilians, soldiers who use night vision goggles, drone operators, bomber pilots, and of course the entire Chair-Force and Navy, whose every shot is taken from afar. America's war machine is designed to target the lesser-abled. In the title AMERICAN SNIPER, I'm not sure the second word describes cowards more than the first.

US Global War On Terror finally drops pretense of not being war on Islam

We're AT WAR WITH THE ISLAMIC STATE! ISIS being not merely al-Qaeda in Iraq or Mesopotamia or the Levant, depending on who's spinning your translation, but terrorists bent on establishing an Islamic State in Iraq and Syria! Someone is going to get an advertising award for the ISIS brand, though it sounds like an episode of Ad Men pitching a concept for Get Smart. What exactly is the West's objection to an Islamic Califate? We already support the Jewish califate of Israel which has a regular record of far greater atrocities. If Americans are upset by the beheading videos attributed to ISIS it's because ally Saudi Arabia doesn't allow its frequent and similarly executed spectacles to be broadcast publically. Well, at least President Obama has abandoned the irrationality of a Global War on Terror, in favor of calling what critics have always known it to be, a War on Islam. When we're finally candid we can admit we are defending Western imperialism from the forces who oppose usury, exploitation and slavery.

UN disinviting Iran confirms Syria talks aren’t about peace but Western victory

So it turns out the "Syrian Peace Talks" were of the Mideast Peace variety: terminal consessions to an aggressor's demands, as per usual Zionist. The US has successfully pressured the UN to rescind the invitation for Iran to join the Syrian peace conference, apparently because Iran doesn't agree that a peaceful outcome must include President Assad's abdication. Does regime change sound like a fair and impartial solution for Syria, or does it resemble the goal of the Western nations who continue to back the instability? As usual, instead of pursuing peace, the US is talking extortion.   NOW THIS: US expresses horror [that someone is vying to beat US record] of torture and execution --is what the headline should read. Can the US "express horror" at torture and execution, alleged no less?!

If Syria could defend itself I bet you’d see American colors run like mad crap!

So there's a little good news as the ambush of Syria gains momentum. It's unlikely to be true, but let's indulge ourselves for a mo. It's being reported that Russia will jump to Syria's defense by attacking the Saudis, and that Iran would retaliate against Israel. Both developments deserved and overdue, but who's going to take the primary culprits, the Western colonial powers, to task? If anyone should bear the "consequences" of an illegal bombardment of Syria, the US surely has it coming. Would the US strike Syria if the Syrians could hit back? How our colors would run if, for once --it hasn't happened since 1812-- the warmaking reached our shores. Our patriot palor would blanche to ashen, I'm guessing into a full streak of yellow in no time. Must it take a Hannibal to march on the "Home Front" before Americans care enough to curb their dogs of war?   Imagine it, the cretinous feudal House of Saud decapitated. They oversee Mecca, impose a repressive Islamic code on their populace, while engorging their family wealth and flesh like medieval popes. And Israel, that last colony of white settlers bulldozing over Palestinian land and lives, dismissing them like Native Americans falling before their Euro Middleast Manifest Destiny. Could a Syrian debacle spell the end for the feral Arab warlordships and for Palestine's Jewish exceptionalist Apartheid? It might be worth it. Especially as we won't be paying for it with OUR lives.   "International consequences." I like the sound of that precedent.

No! No War On Syria! Bad Dog of War! Bad Dog! Off my leg you ill-mannered Yankee cur!

The carnage in Syria should "shock our conscience" really? It's fraternity hazing compared to US collateral atrocities. And how simply grotesque for an American statesman to accuse anyone of "moral obscenity". Is the USG so sure another Maning or Snowden isn't going to unveil the real agents behind the "chemical attack" and the unidentified snipers firing on UN inspectors? And using Kosovo as a precedent for an air war to depose Bashar Assad, we've seen it before, and it was illegal then.

Prince Harry displays British hypocracy to uneducated Colorado warmongers

Want to know where you can find Prince Harry on his war cheerleading US tour? Half of it is in Colorado. On Friday he'll be at a UK Consul-General's reception at the private Sanctuary Golf Course in Sedalia. Between Denver and Castle Rock, that's the Castle Pines exit off of I-25. He's staying overnight in Colorado Springs and leads the opening ceremonies of the Warrior Games at the US Olympic Training Center at Union and Uintah. He concludes his Colorado visit on Sunday at the Air Force Academy on Sunday before flying east for a polo match. How unseemly for American media to be fawning over a British royal, and what a slap in the face for Colorado Springs Tea Partiers, if they weren't so uniformly stupid, to celebrate a monarch for which they claim so much credit for having expelled. Nathan Hale would have hung a second time and a third and forth presumably to have had the chance to show smug twits like Prince Harry the door. Harry pretends to continue the work of his mother Lady Diana, ridding the world of land mines, yet how much credit does he get when he advocates for their root cause, war?

James Steele, Pentagon organizer of Iraqi torture and death squads, again exposed in new documentary

--- Why is the horrible sectarian violence still continuing in Iraq today? A new documentary exposes how the US-Pentagon organizer (James Steele) of Iraq's death squads post overthrow of Saddam Hussein began his campaign of Pentagon made torture squads in Vietnam, carried it forward into organizing Central America's militaries' death and torture squads as well, and now most recently into US troop occupied Iraq where the US war makers used Shia against Sunni residents. James Steele's job was to organize Shia torture and death squads. This Pentagon soldier/thug's legacy lives on 'till this day. Is the name 'James Steele' an amalgam of the names of James Bond and Joseph Stalin? Stalin means Steel in Russian... See James Steele: America's mystery man in Iraq - video

US forces push women to front lines, canon fodder being traditional minority role

Pentagon lifts ban on women in combat. I guess US prisons have consumed the traditional canon fodder labor pool. What's the upside to this news --a kinder gentler militarized empire? Fail. Our culture of violence doesn't breed matriarchs. American women on the front lines is good news for insurgents in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, etc, etc, now Mali, who must welcome the chance to even the score, US forces having targeted so many of their women. And this retaliatory killing comes with no karmic debt, unlike our civilian casualties, because US female soldiers, like gay don't-ask-don't-tell turnstile jumpers, are gung-ho eager-for-carnage volunteers. Have at it ladies. Insurgents must be really encouraged by recruiting trends in US schools which promise the prospect of the US soon deploying kids. We owe our colonial victims so many children's lives.

Gun Control for weapons makers not users, for war mongers not hillbillies

I'm really not big on this call for gun control, mostly because it means to further restrict individual liberties, and especially because the outcry is a media induced hysteria of disreputable provenance, aimed at America's violence junkies instead of its dealers. Really? Is Going Postal the result of a citizenry not having laws enough to control itself? US prisons reflect a conflicting diagnosis. In tragic synchronicity with the Sandy Hook school shooting which prompted US public calls for gun control, a knife-wielding madman in China assailed twenty schoolchildren with no resulting fatalities, giving rise to perhaps the first time the non-Mongol West has ever thought it glimpsed greener pastures over the Great Wall. My takeaway from Bowling for Columbine was not "Gun Control Now!" but the toxic volatility of America's culture of fear-of-violence-mongering and its gun-ho idolatry. Michael Moore called for a stepping up to our responsibilities, not a surrender to dumbassedness. I hold our national arrested adolescence to be a character flaw of pioneer, frontier provincialism, an adaptation of the civilian contractor settlers conscripted for the Westward Expansion, shock troops of the Enlightenment which became the onslaught of industrial capitalism. Americans are hicks --we celebrate it-- who define our personal space with armed borders. For us it's bombs not education, simplistic fraternal evangelism over scientific sibling-hood, our pretended easy camaraderie really armed detente: trust but verify. Because of course, American frontierism, yet unable to see itself as invasive, from Columbus to Manila Bay, has been imperial for as long as "Yankee" has been a pejorative; Americans blissfully, Disneyfically unaware. America's gun problem isn't just domestic, it's export. For gun control I'd like to see a ban on production, not consumption. Unlike drugs whose source is organic, the manufacture of weapons is a centralized racket, easily constricted and regulated. The "Gun Show Loophole" is a stop gap for small fry; let's muzzle the beast itself. And if you think reining in the weapons industry is improbably Herculean, why-ever do you think now is the time for Hercules to dispense with his Second Amendment protection? Just because the Right to Bear Arms has come to exclude bazookas or drones, doesn't mean its intent was not to protect our democracy from authoritarianism. If anyone had construed the Second Amendment as a mere hunting license, Theodore Roosevelt's national parks would have been seen as encroachments on our revolution-conferred sovereign's right to poach. Are Americans thinking that democracy is lost because we can't have bazookas -- that the Second Amendment is inapplicable because the high courts adjudge the masses incapable of self-governance? The "well regulated militia" has surely gone the way of the Home Guard or Neighborhood Watch Committee, as our civic nature moved from social to anti, but it doesn't diminish the need to have minute-men insurgents to counter would-be tyrants. Obviously we're not talking about Minute Men privateers to whom police departments can outsource xenophobic vigilantism. If Occupy Wall Street proved anything, it lifted the fog on America's militarized police state. Public gun

The US Left doesn’t understand much about the current state of the Pentagon and the US military

Much of the US population has been told by US Left liberals that the US 'lost' the Vietnam War and that the US military is some sort of paper tiger, when in reality the US military continues to be a very capable US ruling class killing machine that has killed millions around the globe since post WW2. Here following, I will list 2 recent examples of how the liberals and Left mislabel the US military this way by claiming that it is weak, and some few of the many reasons why they often do such. First is this example in an article in the newspaper 'Socialist Worker' of the International Socialist Organization, the larger of the US trotskyist leftover groups. Here they argue that the Syrian groups being used by the Pentagon in its efforts to overthrow the Assad government of Syria are not really aligned with US government efforts to fight the anti-Israel/ anti US forces in the Middle East, most especially those of Syria and Iran. It is a ridiculous argument, but here it goes... 'The U.S. is in a period of deep structural economic crisis, Kailah wrote, which has led to a "significant decrease in the Department of Defense budget, and in the number of American forces, including the Marines." The U.S. "can only wage one war (and it is now stuck in Afghanistan)." Therefore, Washington will not intervene militarily at this moment (in Syria) because it is not prepared to deal with a potential regional war.' and ...'The scale of foreign intervention currently in Syria is in the other direction--heavily weighed towards Russian and Iranian military and logistical support for the Assad regime. The problem of foreign intervention in Syria is not due to Syrian revolutionary fighters who accept weapons from the outside in order to protect themselves and engage the regime's forces.' Almost all the author says is a complete and total misassessment of current US government and US military intentions and current US military strength. See Syria's revolutionary resilience Yusef Khalil examines the latest developments for the Syrian revolution. Instead of warning the American people that the US government plans more war in the Middle East and elsewhere worldwide and is ALREADY actually engaged in multiple wars right now, the Marxist author actually attempts to convince us that the Pentagon and US politicians are incapable of doing so! Talk about doctrinaire idiocy! It shows the author's total noninvolvement in any antiwar activity, too. This guy, PLUS the organization International Socialist Organization, are both living in dream worlds. The second example of this sort of lazy, aberrant, and misleading underassessment of the US military can be found today at Counterpunch and is written by their frequent commentator, Mike Whitney where the argues that the US has lost the Afghanistan War! Really, he does! See Cut-and-Run Time Afghanistan: the Smell of Defeat Here is the concluding summary of his opinion that the Pentagon is a paper tiger... 'But the

Nato and the US government continue their not so covert war against Syria

NATO says plans in place to defend Turkey from Syrian attacks so goes the corporate reporting of the US instigated war on the Syrian government. The phrasing of this report is all bullshit because Syria is not attacking Turkey but rather defending itself from attacks launched against itself from Turkish territory with the full complicity and aid of the US, Nato, and Turkey itself. But the US press knows that is readers are none too bright, so away flies the insipidly stupid formulation of this pro- more war for all of us, propaganda.

Prince Harry the Hedonist shows war for what it really, really should not be

A young prince who can do anything he wants, might go to war for some noble cause, if he hadn't already exposed his and its deeply immoral character. After his Vegas binge, Prince Harry has returned to Afghanistan, his request this time to be a gunner on an Apache attack helicopter in the UK squad with the highest kill rate. It reminds me of the Hapsburg emperor who liked to shoot a peasant each day before breakfast --eventually his handlers had to enlist actors and load the old man's rifle with blanks. We prefer to look back at old Franz Joseph as senile, but what is the truth about unrestricted inhuman whim?   A recent Taliban attack on Camp Bastion, Prince Harry's base in the Helmund Province, may have been aimed at the bloodthirsty prince. Who can blame the Taliban for targeting a pro-war figurehead which the UK itself is exploiting? It could be however that Prince Harry's secondary strategic benefit is not dissimilar to the American misuse of anti-Muhammad taunts to provoke insurgents. Drawing more Taliban fighters out of the shadows probably does not displease his royal trigger-happiness. Probably unarmed Austrians shared just as unfavorable odds as Afghans with AK-47s against Harry's gunship. Let's hope not.

US, Britain, France, and Germany versus Russia and China- Battle Zone Syria

Those Americans who tend to see the Syria battle out of its geo-politcal context are playing stupid and mainly fooling only themselves. Here from a news report... 'Another item which the two leaders will most likely discuss is how Russia and China may protect themselves from a network of air defense facilities, which the US is now unveiling in Asia. China’s authorities are very concerned about the fact that the US is deploying missiles and air defense systems in Japan and on the Philippines, because this is obviously done as a reaction to China’s program of developing nuclear missiles.' (from What Russian, Chinese leaders may discuss during APEC summit) All this takes place in the context that the US, Britain, France and Germany may ignore the Russian and Chinese objections to their plans to use their militaries anyway to force regime change on the Syrians, while ignoring the vetoes against this at the United Nations. There is no 'revolution' in Syria freely made by Syrians themselves. The war in Syria was MADE IN USA.

Barack Obama’s 2012 campaign slogan revealed at Colorado College: FOR WAR

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- After President Obama's campaign stop at Colorado College, the crowd clears, a reporter files his story, while an indiscreetly placed tree obstructs just enough of the Obama 2012 campaign logo to restore truth to the election season doublespeak. Does "forward" mean much more than the ol' bla-bla-bla? --to quote a friend who heard his speech. Without the D you have "FOR WAR" which makes a lot more sense, and that "D" stood for Democrat.

Mitt Romney trips upon brilliant foreign policy idea, gives Israel’s plan to attack Iran an idiot’s stamp of approval.

On the heels of making A TWIT of himself in London, self-caricaturized Romneyshambles, GOP presidential foil-candidate Mitt Romney traipsed over to Israel and depth-charged their bellicose policy of menacing Iran with continuous threats of preemptive attack by proclaiming his "respect" for it! Then he mistook the capitol of Israel for Jerusalem in the Palestinian occupied territories!   American billionaires aren't underwriting Mitt Romney's campaign because they think he can be president. They don't need him. Pro- corporate Barack Obama is already their internationally-populist figurehead. The money the oligarchs are pouring into Election 2012 is to convince a post-hope public that voting still matters. To ease voter buy-in the electoral decision is being made easy: choose smart versus stupid. Barnum dictates you can't underestimate the American public, but Romney's lack of political sense may out-dumb common wisdom.   UPDATE: What did Romney do next? He praised the Israelis for being more economically successful than the Palestinian neighbors they'd dispossessed, crediting the stereotypical Jewish culture! He closed his standup tour by deliberately soliciting foreign campaign contributions.

Heads kept down in Colorado Springs as professional gunman, Army Ranger ‘Little Monster’, threatens rampage

COLO. SPRINGS-- The CSGT morning headline described Aurora shooter: GUNMAN WAS LIKE ASSASSIN GOING TO WAR, but the next news cycle warned of a pro, this time an Army Ranger, cruising the city, who'd flown from Fort Lewis, Washington with the intention of killing his ex-fiance, her new boyfriend, then himself. The 5-foot-5 Sgt. Joshua Johnston Daner, a special forces soldier nicknamed "Little Monster", has three guns, "violent tendencies" and possibly an injured hand from punching a wall. If you think having to look out for one Army Ranger is bad, imagine a city in a US war zone, Iraq or Afghanistan where Daner served for example, bracing for teams of "Little Monsters", a death squad of Rangers, or brigades of regulars behaving with less discipline than special ops, with the authority to hit you as they would a wall. With no clue to the whereabouts of said ex, Colorado Springs residents are bracing for a city wide free fire zone, though a drive-by at a strip-bar seems the most likely scenario. If you're not chatting up a stripper looking to scam a soldier for their life insurance, you're probably not in the line of fire. So far the Gazette has this: Daner has served eight four- or five-month tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, said Mark Edwards, an Army Human Resources spokesman. He most recently returned in February 2011 from a five-month tour in Afghanistan, Edwards said. Daner entered the Army in 2003, completed ranger training in July 2006 and has been stationed at Fort Lewis since around that time, Edwards said. Daner has received numerous military commendations, including the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with one campaign star, as well as the Iraq Campaign Medal with one campaign star, Edwards said. Army Rangers are a group of highly-trained troops who specialize in airborne operations, along with raiding facilities and enemy compounds, according to the Army. The 2nd Battalion of the 75th Ranger Regiment is stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. No reports yet of a Daner rap-sheet, though obviously investigators should look to his deployment record for priors.

Kofi Annan troops to Moscow on behalf of the Pentagon

Poor Kofi, it is not easy being the head of the 'United Nations' brigade of the US military. Here he is, trooping off to Moscow pleading with Putin to allow the Pentagon to continue to try to smash up the Assad government in Syria. Annan Finds Mild Response in Russia on Syria. 'Russia, Help us out here!' must have been Kofi's plea. 'Mild Response in Russia'? The Pentagon propagandists really know how to be mealy with their words, don't they? Here below was the actual response to Annan, which was basically to tell Kofi to go to Hell! 'Russia supports a simple three-month extension of the observers' mandate. Western powers want language that could open the door to military action by outsiders. In Russia, that topic is taboo. Fyodor Lyukanov, editor of Russia in Global Affairs magazine, says the Putin government will not budge. “There is a red line which Russia will never cross. I will say never. This is legitimization of any kind of outside intervention, military intervention in Syria,” Lyukanov said.' Will Russia stand firm against the new Pentagon aggressions in the Middle East? That still waits to be seen....

Waldo Canyon Wildfire gives Colorado Springs a front range seat to war zone movie set, says Governor Hickenlooper

COLORADO SPRINGS- Governor Hickenlooper made the remark after touring the Waldo Canyon Fire by helicopter. After touching down on the grounds of Coronado High School, cleared mid-press-conference because it fell in the freshly designated evacuation area, the governor said the wildfire resembled the movie set of a military invasion. Predictably the media clipped his observation to just "movie set", adding the fire chief's "epic" and "historic". President Obama is expected to visit the disaster zone on Friday. I wonder if he'll match our governor's candor. He is certainly in the position to say whether our present horror is any match for the devastation unleashed by our invasions. Perhaps he can tell us the fire's equivalency in drone strikes. Is 100 homes a week's worth? If President Obama wanted to be partisan about it (pretending his Democratic Party was the antiwar party) he might suggest that conservative war-mongering, race-baiting, climate-denying Colorado Springs had this front range seat coming. Unless sentimentally doused in prayer-sharing reverence, our local disaster, with Governor Hickenlooper's unedited comment, could be an empathy-learning moment.
