But, according to them, it’s environmental protection legislation that caused the problem.

yeah, yeah yeah… Obama is the root of all Evil, nothing wrong ever occurred before January 19th 2009.
Meanwhile, it might have escaped your attention, being as it’s local, but the Oil Company and their principal cheerleaders, including the TeaBags and their divine Heroin (she’s a Dope) want to poison our LOCAL waters (more than they have already) with the Shale Oil Extraction. Some of them even using the BP spill as an opening.
The theory is that those Bad ol’ wicked Environmentalist Hippies have prevented them from exploiting sources of oil and coal in sensitive areas onshore. Like here.
The last time they seriously came this close to doing there were half as many people here and still not enough water to satisfy both the extraction process and the people, plus of course the local wildlife. Which is why the project was shelved. But apparently not forgotten.
Another thing you seem to have missed is that the Drill Baby Drill crowd like to use their own interpretations of the Bible as justification for destroying the earth. And, yes, they DO read these things. Call people crazy for pointing out and countering the fact that they do so, and also use the same readings of Scripture to justify the Wars they start, eh.

The federal government of this Democratic Party Administration attempted to pass all the blame onto BP for their own failed policies, in much the same way that liberal Democrats Marie, Eric, and Jonah try to pass all the blame onto Wingnut Sarah Palin and her Far Right Wing crowd. Hysterical DP Centrism just has so few real answers to anything these days.
It just won’t work anymore. The Democrats have no answer for any of the pressing problems of the day. This blog is dead in cyberspace because it has tied itself stupidly to a dying and paralyzed DP.
