Flow of oil into Gulf “more than was reported”

What a news flash! except the reports have an ugly habit of adding another digit to the estimated flow. That multiplies by TEN. And this is today’s report.
Meanwhile, the head of MMS, the “Mineral extraction lease” division of Bureau of Land Management/Department of the Interior was sacked. For whatever it’s worth, the agency is top-heavy with folks who weren’t appointed by Bush. Bottom heavy too. Or by Obama.
We’re talking about a hard core enclave of Reaganite Sucks here. Deregulation and so-called “Free” Market at its lowest possible point, zenith at the highest, nadir at the lowest, well, this is lower than nadir.

Which illustrates how very difficult it is for We the People to get any real change in government. The crap that BP talks about how they’re the experts, the only ones who actually have experience in deep water oil accidents (so what exactly was their experience with similar oopsies and why did the “regulators” at MMS not tell anybody? Well, the second part answers itself…) So they’re the only ones to be trusted to fix it… and destroy any evidence… Charlie Manson running the CSI investigation at the Sharon Tate residence…

But the reason hard core Reaganite non-regulators are allowed to remain in power is, after 30 years, how many candidates are there for their replacements? So they have the “experience”.
If the beast is decapitated, like the Hydra, (tip o’ the hat to Greek Mythology) it grows a new head from within it’s belly. Yet that’s the solution proposed.
Removing the conductor because the string section didn’t tune their fiddles, the percussion section and the woodwinds all got good and sloppy drunk before the concert and the Chorus never rehearsed together… That would be an almost appropriate analogy.

Especially if the Last Conductor actively encouraged such behavior.

So, Jonah, that’s your pathetic response to those that would propose holding the Democratic Party accountable for its own actions? Plus, you didn’t even respond to the proposal to hold both these 2 conductor (political parties) responsible, which is what I have proposed for NMT to do from time immemorial, Eric the Great. You two do make a perfect team of hard core DP voting liberal fools together, Eric! It’s simply a perfect match!

Today there was yet another pathetic Democratic Party tied liberal just like Jonah, writing out little fairy tales to make his wretched, let’s put our faith in Obama, plea.

Here from Common Dreams website we read….

    ‘by John Atcheson
The progressives are up in arms over the oil spill. Like a scene from Frankenstein, the good citizens are storming the hydrocarbon castle with torches ablaze, and pitchforks held high.’

….and then he pulls out this little story of a frog carrying a scorpion across a river, and Lo and Behold get stung as both the scorpion and frog sink into the water in the middle of the crossing.

All these fairy tales to end up with where Brother Jonah is stuck at in the Lesser of Two Evils mud and this pathetic gurgle of oil….

‘Mr. Obama, will you be that leader?’

    NO HE WON’T, YOU DUMMIE!

JONAH! You, too, are worse than a MOONIE, just like this other clown is. Drop your religious faith and breathe some fresh air at least once in your life before you die. The DP is not ever going to save you from the RP! Get over it! It’s just not going to happen.

    “““““““““““““““““““““““
-Brother Jonah’s words of religious faith to the donkey

Remove all the mechanisms of government, perhaps. Because there’s no redemption from within, true enough. For instance, the NKVD and KGB weren’t created by the Communists. They were the enforcement arms of the Tsar. Likewise the Red army was commanded and led, after Red Oktober, by persons who had gained their organizational experience in the Imperial Army.

When Truman fired McArthur in 1951, Big Mac’s replacement was one of Big Mac’s proteges. If, for a “change” we take Petraeus out and put McChrystal in, it’s the same deal. How far down the chain of command would we go to find officers who don’t have some degree of personal loyalty to the mechanisms of the Regime?

Had we put Nader in the White House rather than Obama, or maybe a Kucinic Nader ticket arranged K-N or N-K, either way, they would have still had the same entrenched monster to slay.

And what happens if we, the people, simply remove all current government employees? Still wouldn’t make a clean slate re-start of democracy. There are enough of the manipulative types, with experience at manipulation, to rush in and take advantage of the temporary chaos.

It doesn’t help or hinder that the last Conductor actively encouraged and financed the behavior.

To be the direct source of the problem Obama would have to have been born 400 years ago. When the Mayflower Compact established the first totally Capitalist government in America.

What next? Storm the bunkers of the Very Rich? It’s possible.

The U.S. has been on the brink before, but what if it isn’t the Communists or Socialists or Anarchists who take the prize?

If it seems like I’m getting a bit weary, it’s because I am. I spent the day trying, fruitfully I hope, to secure adequate and dependable health care for Miss Johnnie. From, of all people, the Government. What say, a game of Contradictions, eh? The same government who took the life of her husband.

Spit on trying to get Private Corporations to give a damn.
Or les faux revolutionaires avec la “Tea Party”. howk a big ol’ loogey and spit on that.

A lot of times it looks like nothing will ever change, at least for the better. Doesn’t stop people from trying though.

There’s more than one stumbling block in the way of real reform. Like, a whole minefield of them. It might seem futile to attack them one at a time, but it’s even more futile to attack them all en masse.

No one person can stand down the problems, because they’re caused by a host of enemies of mankind.
And it’s been building for centuries.

Meanwhile, keep making the world better around you. Maybe we can. Me, you, Eric… I know you have before and trust you will again.

As for the war, it’s going to end our participation in it whether or not “our” leaders do the ending. As for BP, same way. We won’t choose the time, the time will choose us. I’m not particularly happy about it either.

I have faith in God, and in the people He created. The whole of humanity., even the Democrats. They haven’t steered humanity off the rocks, neither have we, neither has humanity itself. Do we then condemn each group or maybe each individual who hasn’t steered us into a successful thriving society, one with actual Justice and actual concern top to bottom and back to the top for the well being of all mankind?

Martin King, and the Freedom Riders, didn’t change the world into a just place, are they then to blame, because they didn’t succeed, that they didn’t stop the freight train of Mad Hatred that infests the world and runs rampant?

My tooth is hurting, I have to end this thought, for now, and tend to it. We’ll probably both be here tomorrow, take up the discussion again.

You’re a good man, Jonah, I don’t doubt that. It’s just that you see the Democratic Party as a true oppositional party to the Republicans, and I don’t.

They, the DP and RP, simply most often work together with each other. They are collaborators, not opposition. People who see collaborators as a group of fellow oppositional activists seriously mislead and destroy any formation of a real opposition being able to get off the ground. But you have a good heart, Jonah. Get that tooth fixed up!

  4. Avatar Brother Jonah says:

We don’t have very many options to effect real change in the world, especially with national and international politics. Like War, Corporate Rule, things like that, the stuff we’ve opposed and hope to change.

We could either attempt to make the changes through the democratic process which sometimes involves the Democratic Party, OR

We could simply declare war on the Parasite Class. As entertaining as that sounds, there’s a lot of drawbacks. One is that the people we’d most likely be fighting will be our fellow poor. Because the Working class bear the full weight and expense of every revolution or any other war. The TeaBags don’t seem to mind that, FOR NOW, but that’s because there’s not a full-on Civil War going.

Once they realize that they’re dying or impoverished by the Civil War they’ll start to understand. If the Revolution, either Right Wing or Left Wing, actually quote “succeeds” end quote it will most likely fall to people who have no conscience and who are competent at the art of Running Other People’s Lives.

Those who have no experience in doing so won’t be able to withstand those who do. And people with conscientious values will most likely be targeted during the “civil” war simply because they have that trait about them. They would be recognized by the Control Freaks as a threat to their plans to take over whatever is left after the “civil” war.

Then there’s the simple FACT that with or without the “civil” term it would be a War. You remember War, right? The stuff we’re opposed to? Along with doing damage to, enslaving, impoverishing, dispossessing, killing or otherwise oppressing the Poor. Which happens to be our class. Also the War will destroy even more of the environment and no matter who wins everybody will LOSE. As I recall from our many discussions on these points, that’s one of the major reasons for opposing wars. That and Killing People is inherently immoral.

So given the (albeit slight) chance of actually reforming the world through a terminally broken political system, through what limited power a vote here or there will give, I’ll take that over destroying Human Lives any day.

The TeaBags are throwing a massive tantrum because their ultra-right wing ideals got slapped down in a vote. That and their Lily-White candidates got defeated by a “Half-Rican American” although they sometimes and with increasing frequency leave off the part about “American”, a “Secret Muslim” who pals around with Terrorists (like, for instance, Us) who is according to them a Hippie-dippy flower power Liberal who they’re afraid will take away their War and not give it back to them.

Hardly the way You would describe or have described him, yes? That’s the threat from the right. I’m certain you don’t join into that crap.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, we’ve gotten either because or despite the election success, some movement on health care, some movement on the environment, some movement on reform of the Corporate Oligarchy. If it doesn’t move far enough we simply push it further. Not abandon all attempts. Dig our heels into the gains we already have and keep advancing.

I would be pickled tink if we can get anything resembling reform without having a bunch of people killed and our families left destitute. That would be described neatly as “nice”.

This is the worst sort of apologism and fake pragmatism for doing absolutely nothing other than continuing to vote (DP in Jonah’s case) in a society that really doesn’t have much of a functioning democratic process.

‘If the Revolution, either Right Wing or Left Wing, actually quote “succeeds” end quote it will most likely fall to people who have no conscience and who are competent at the art of Running Other People’s Lives.’

And your Democratic Party, Jonah, is not just exactly like the people you are supposedly saying that will be even worse than them? The Democratic Party is just exactly as manipulative as the Republicans are, but they are charged with manipulating a different bloc of the population and keeping them in line for the corporate pig masters (I have to speak in your vocab for you to have even the slightest chance of actually understanding what’s being said, Jonah. That’s sad…). That’s all.

The problem with most liberals like you, Eric the Evil Jew Zionist Witch Hunter, and Marie are in how conservative you folk actually really are. I don’t really even see you as being a fraction more to the Left than the main grouping of PPJPC folk are, who are all pretty much damn conservative Democrats as a group.

Jonah goes on with his argument for total surrender to doing absolutely nothing that might make a radical change, instead of some small little nothing, pretend ‘reform’ that might be thrown out by the Democratic Party to keep him partially breathing…….

‘Also the War (read Revolution here) will destroy even more of the environment and no matter who wins everybody will LOSE. As I recall from our many discussions on these points, that’s one of the major reasons for opposing wars. That and Killing People is inherently immoral.’

You would label any radical proponent of change a potential murderer with this sort of apologistic pro- DP dribble, Jonah. I think it’s quite shameful and shows me that Not My Tribe really is not my tribe. I’m glad I told Eric I could not continue to write commentaries and provide him with a Left screen for this sort of centrist bullshit, that you three continually have come up with.

In the case of Eric, it’s even worse with me in some ways than with yourself, Jonah. With Eric, I think that the antiwar stuff is really nothing more than a cloak for him to continually launch into his antiZionist stuff, that usually has a tone of antiJewish character to it. At the center of what he does, that’s really is where his head is at, and that is worse than being a stuck in the mud DPer in my book. He’s really a guy that wants to promote rabid hate against Right Wing Jews politically, if not directly on a personal level. It is his super fetish, and not just a side component of his seeming ‘pro PEACE mode.
