Why Rivera refused to take 42 million in “bailout” money.

Because it’s “earmarked” specifically to create jobs from the bottom up, instead of, as his USUAL corporate welfare installments made directly to the “leaders” of the Military Industrial Complex are, to the Richest Citizens and with the wink wink nudge nudge say no more Gentleman’s Agreement that some of the People’s Money should “trickle down” like Ronald Reagan pissing on Americans, to the people who actually BUILD the wealth for the Rich.
Rich Bastards like Rivera and Herpin don’t believe that the working class actually feed and support their Parasite Class. And say so. Loudly and often. The 42 million would have been earmarked for Infrastructure rather than bribery and graft.
unlike the $260 million allocated to the Road To Nowhere, 24West project, which starts and ends at two bus stops.

They’d rather the money go to subsidize their Oil and Gas and Coal Waste-all-resources Industries, subsidize the Constitutional “Right” guaranteed right there in the Bill of Rights to drive one person in a car made for eight and spend the resources of Other People to support it.

Here’s another clue for you all, the money that’s being spent in hundred-billion dollar increments to support a series of Wars of Conquest, more than is being spent on All Other government services, and if you include the spending for the Police State Apparatus that’s being cloned in Iraq and Afghanistan, on the public dime, and placed in effect first HERE, that total comes to TWICE what’s paid for all the rest of Government Spending combined.

  1. No, REALLY, it’s true! The Constitution DOES guarantee the right to take other peoples’ monies to support your conceited pleasure driving. It’s outlined in the books written by Washington, Jefferson, and Tommy Paine, who consulted NostrilDumbAss and came up with the knowledge that SUVs would be invented for the self-image of those who believe that they’re victims.

“I’ll show them thar smart-alecky Hippies with their bus and bicycle theories, I’ll show them good… I’ll run their bikes off the road and clog the roads with my Pollution Special and eat Public Resources till they can’t possibly afford having the Bus and Bicycle transportation”.

Unfortunately, The Trilateral Commission edited the Bill of Rights and searched out every copy of it, and the books showing the clear Original Intent of the Founding Fathers, and burned them. But not to worry, Dan Maes, our Republican Candidate for Governor, sees right through that conspiracy and even though he doesn’t have any proof, he’s gonna stop that thar Liberal UN Trilateral Commission takeover of Denver Bicycle and Bus Plot.

    This comes as no surprise

Have you noticed bus service to the Broadmoor has never been even considered to be cut! A lot of the workers that use the bus to get to the Broadmoor are low paid alien workers. We would not want to upset this delicate balance. Why did FREX survive while in town services were cut? Why were senior bus drivers replaced with less experienced drivers? It is time to shut off the money that is being wasted! First ask the state legislature to amend the state constitution so the voters have the option to repeal the 2004 vote to create the PPRTA, contact your US congress members, federal dept of transportation, transit and labor and ask for investigations into where the monies went! Last but not least, get organizations like AARP, The ARC, Easter Seals, Goodwill, Disabled American Veterans and other groups that assist or support social programs for the disabled, elderly,

students, less fortunate and business groups that need lower paid workers to do business to unite and support public transit. With these groups united the political pressure can force change.

Smite the word “alien” from it and you’re starting on the right track, Low Paid Workers. Political divisions like borders are exploited the way skin color is exploited, to keep the workers insulated and isolated from each other.

Trying just on a local level, a good sign and chant for our next rally, half the crowd says “Who Needs Bus Service?” and the other half points to anybody who looks both prosperous and smug “YOU need bus service!”

Because they do. WE all do. The rich as well as the poor.

Was that my eyesight fading out on me or in the first pictures of the rally yesterday, was that a black Rolls Royce pulled up in front of City Hall? (and parked curbside, which is a whole other basket of foul eggs) One of our new friends, Mary, said “Hey, the poor and disabled need to get to the stores!”

Well, the stores need for the poor and disabled to come to them as well. It’s a two way arrangement. There is NOBODY who actually lives in our town who is NOT affected adversely by bus cuts. If we don’t have a business of our own that is DIRECTLY connected to the bus line, then we do business with people whose businesses ARE. I’ve a friend who is a waitress at a restaurant on the east side, and lives on the West side. The wealthy or moderately wealthy people who dine there depend on her, the cooks, the dishwashers, the manager, … let’s put forth a couple of “if-then-else” statements, yes?

    Straight logic.

If the waitresses, cooks etc have to pay more to get to work

Then they need to be paid more. Or THEY are paying for the privilege of serving the rich.

Then the price of the meal goes up.

    Else, the Rich are reverse-Robin-Hood.

Since the word “freedom” comes up every time any budget raise comes up, think this, the Bus Drivers, the Firemen, The Street Workers, even, yes, the PIerrr… cops, they all have to be paid enough to produce their labor, same as the waitress in the above illustration. If Doug Bruce and his Demented Disciples like Rivera can actually see that replacing, repairing and other maintenance tasks on the roads, for instance, costs more in labor and more in materials, then hiding their Robbery of the workers and the suppliers of the materials behind TABOR is exactly that… Robbery.

The price of asphalt, the main ingredient in roads, has increased more than double in the past decade or so.

The price of Concrete, which involves using high heat (can YOU generate a lot of heat without paying for it?) to burn the lime to make the stuff, has gone up commensurate to the price of the fuel needed to make it.

The TABOR advocates typically are Real Estate investors who only make money with population growth. They then try to kick the bottom out of their own market by refusing to upgrade the roads, the Water Supply, the cleaning of that water once it leaves Our Water Supply and flows into every other water supply in the western 2/3 of America… The BUS services… because it costs more. And they create, with their own businesses, More Demand.

They have a simplistic view of Capitalism called supply and demand. Then they want to keep the supply side cheap while increasing the demand. Ain’t Happenin’ babies.

There’s another saying of theirs, “A rising tide lifts all boats” BUT, they try to make sure the only boats that get lifted are their own. Ska-roo that noise.

Good Idea Jim, Getting these organizations to do that is like a shot in the dark, for some odd reason they are afraid of Rivera
