CW57, one of the local DumFox stations, aired an “infomercial” for a seminar, books and training videos on how to take advantage of the housing market crash, telling the Gullible that if they buy the properties ON CREDIT (even though they’re targeting people who are already in bankruptcy and facing foreclosure) then sell them to rich real estate developers for tens of times what the houses are currently priced, financed on both transactions with an Adjustable Rate Mortgage by the same investment banks which wrote a blank rubber check for the last time this scam was perpetrated. Now, the paper they hung on us last time, it wasn’t the primary cause of the Recession Massive Economic Collapse it was just (normally, as everybody knows, I avoid cliché like the plague, but I’m going out on a limb and doing it anyway) the straw that broke the camel’s back.
30 straight years of unfunded Reaganomics, the collapse of the infrastructure, such as levies, bridges, roads, other privately owned public utilities, unfunded war-for-profit where those who made the profit from other people dying paid no taxes on the blood money, destruction of the unions, done at public expense and again for private profiteers, and the legalization of Predatory Capitalism and relaxing every rule set in place to correct These Same Causes during the Great Depression of the 1930s… provided both the rest of the burden that poor camel was carrying AND starved and beat the living Hell out of him so he was incapable of carrying the burden.
Fox uses the standard disclaimer that “The views expressed in this broadcast do not reflect those of NewsCorp” what a bunch of lying pukes. Fox News has spent BILLIONS of dollars ranting that this type of unfunded speculative investment could not possibly have harmed the economy. Nor that the Corporations getting welfare subsidies AND huge tax breaks, would increase the budget and double-trouble it by their obscene tax breaks.
Instead, they blame the 51% of the people who make less than $22,360 a year for a family of four and thus are at poverty level.
Or below. Couldn’t possibly be the multi-Trillion Dollar giveaways to the Rich.
The cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan has recently been estimated at 1.5 Terabucks, or, for those who no speak geek, trillion dollars. That would have to ignore the at least 5 Trillion paid out to private corporations to “rebuild” Iraq and completely dismiss all the money spent on Afghanistan.
And the fact that before 1991 Iraq had the strongest economy and best infrastructure on the Arabian Peninsula, even more than the Subsidized (by us) Sovereign State of Israel. That they had more female graduates from universities per capita than anybody else on the Peninsula, that their literacy rate even now surpasses that of the United States, More female Doctors.
And that they weren’t allowed to use what money they had (which was considerable) to rebuild their country for more than a decade, based on the “They’re Developing WMDs” LIE.
They lie to us about the cause of the war, the cause of Iraq being in such poor condition, and the cost of the war coupled with paying the same Warmongering ChickenHawk Cowards like Richard Cheney who paid a lot of public money getting Iraq destroyed, to have no-bid contracts to rebuild it.
Much like they broke the unions at public expense for private profit, and put more than half of Americans into Wage Slavery and massive debt.
You can’t pay people less than it costs to live and expect anything other than massive poverty and debt.
And, Fox News, and their Parent Corporation NewsCorp, have been pushing all of that agenda for decades. They’re good at what they do, but what they do is promote the wealth of a Very Few at the expense of the Vast Majority, not only Americans but the entire world.
They’ve succeeded to the point that the scions of those Very Few don’t have to pick up arms themselves to force the Working Class around the world to work for slave wages. Because they have so many people who are willing to accept the not-much-better conditions afforded by being Hired Thugs for the Corporations and murdering and enslaving their fellow poor PEOPLE.
Hey, Be All That You Can Be. And ignore the fact that those who are urging your Murder Campaign against the other PEOPLE in the Working Class, aren’t joining the StormTroopers along with you.
If you listen to DumFox Noose and their radio affiliates, it’ll be a lot easier for you to close off whatever is left of your mind.
Gulliver’s Travels, and another treatise entitled “A Modest Proposal” were works of allegory against the continued enslavement of the people of Ireland, of which Jonathan Swift, the author, was a native.
In “A Modest Proposal” he poses the notion that the Irish could simply be raised as herd animals, selling their children as table meat for the British Wealthy Elite. Except for a few who would be kept alive long enough to breed and to perform labor until they were no longer fit to do so. Regrettably, according to Swift, those who were slaughtered after the age of 15 would not fetch as high a price in the meat market as the toddlers would, but they could be fed to the hounds of the English Master Race and perhaps to the Irish “cattle”.
And of course the young Irish girls could be sold as whores to the English until they, too, could no longer breed or were no longer attractive.
This was written in 1729 and Swift himself died in 1745, a century before the Irish Potato Famine. which had its “roots” which I just noticed is a really bad pun in the British Conquest.
And the Crown, like they and their accomplices in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, punished the Irish with capitalism.
It wasn’t that there was no food produced in Ireland, much like the vast reserves of Iraqi oil, it was that the food production had to be given to the British overlords as reparations for the cost of conquering and governing them.
The Brits kept some wonderfully careful records, detailing the number of hundreds of tons of wheat shipped out of Ireland on one page of the ledgers and on the next, the number of Irish who died of starvation.
The wealthy also, like now, blamed the Working Class for their own poverty. Some things never change.
Swift ended his treatise with the very sharply worded challenge to the British, why not actually eat the flesh of the poor literally?
As the English landlords already did so figuratively.
As for the Real Estate Speculation FOX is pushing, it’s taking advantage of the desperation of people who have already been pushed into bankruptcy by The Last Real Estate Speculation “boom economy” that the Lying Bastards at FOX pushed in exactly the same way.
People who are thinking about buying into it, please consider… The Investment Banks and their minions in the Real Estate Fraud Industry, they’ve gotten their money guaranteed them in the form of “too big to fail” bailouts. Why exactly are THEY not buying up the properties to resell, and why would they offer such an opportunity to make and take all their profit margin?
