The publisher of Counterpunch has just died of cancer. Alexander Cockburn’s website has been the best source of information in the English speaking world for years now, and we’re sure that the foundation of free thought he constructed there will continue to make Counterpunch a refuge for Freedom of Speech in the English speaking world. The work of Alexander Cockburn has always been an inspiration for Left Wing radicals and we will sadly miss him now that he has passed away. It is just a very sad occasion knowing that he will not be fighting The System alongside us any more. Goodbye, Alex, Friend.
