By and large the protests and standoffs by the Kolas have been really peaceful. At least by the Protectors. Of course the cops and National Mercenary Guard tell a far different story with their actions. Blowing off a paramedic’s arm leaps to mind.
That could change. It should be noticed that the Military Police State recruits from the poorest of the masses. Certainly when the Selective Service was in charge the Rich didn’t get drafted. There’s a saying about that, the way to get out of the Rez, Ghetto, Barrio or Appalachia was to either go to the Army or go to prison. Either way, once you left those institutions you wound up back in the same place you left. And generally with a really pissy attitude. The GI rebellion, the real and most important resistance to the VietNam war, got a large recruitment value of their own simply because they were ordered to be shock troops against Other Not-Rich Americans.
If the Trump-Perry Express intend to have the Peasant Army doing their bidding and shooting their fellow poor folks, well, this might just get interesting.
