Hillendale Farm bursts pastoral cliche

The recall of salmonella-tainted eggs reaches half-billion as second farm implicated. Wait a minute, we’re only up to two farms? What kind of “farm” yields 250 million eggs? Not one you’d picture called Sunny Farms, or Sunny Meadow, or Wholesome Farms, or West Creek. These are the pastoral facades behind Hillendale Farm, the latest source of factory food-sourcing contamination. But the mother of all deceptively cruel trade name conjures “over hill and dale,” the expanse of concentrations of cages required to “farm” those chickens.

  1. From “hatch to hatchet” untouched by human hands.
How long will it be before the Human Workers errr “workforce” is standardized like that? O brave new world, that has such creatures in it. O, brave, brave new world!

  2. That’s a quarter billion eggs in about a week.

The “How it’s Made” shows on the Egg and Chicken Factory subject, horrifying.

In order to enhance the growth AND keep the chickens from having a wildfire epidemic blazing through their Über-concentrated Confinement Areas, they pump them full of steroids and antibiotics.

So if you notice your daughters growing full beards by the time they’re 7, that’s probably one source of the problem.

And, it’s much like the SuperBug MRSA and the SuperBug Turberculosis don’t come from treating infected humans with too much antibiotics. Although it would have done so eventually.

No, they come from treating CATTLE with antibiotics as a preventative measure. In Concentrated Animal Feeding Enterprises.

An Unhappy Meal on steroids. Literally.
Would you like fries with that?

  3. But “wasting” public money to promote healthier diets and exercise is Socialism…

    Ahhhhh… SOCIALISM! SOCIALISM! AHHHHHHHHHHH!

And a United Nations plot to take over Colorado. According to TeaBag favorite Dan Maes.
