Say goodbye to 2011 and bad bad Walmart

OCCUPIED COLORADO SPRINGS- Occupy Walmart continues today at Platte and Chelton. JOIN US. Why Walmart — where have you been?! If the 99% can come together on anything, it’s against capitalism’s most despotic retailer. Judging by the support from traffic passing on Platte Avenue, 99% agree, this new year will not sustain such a greedy business model. Here are photos from Friday’s protest.

Friday’s action attracted four CSPD cruisers right from the start, followed by periodic drive-bys, videotaping and parking nearby.

When the popo try to intimidate us, we occupy them.

High winds were a challenge for everything but Jack’s snare drum.

    Well done, Eric.

You and your band of useful idiots have convinced Wal Mart to build a data center in Colorado Springs.

Maybe you can get a job as a greeter – but you would have to give up your unemployment checks.

  2. American Idol, McDonalds, Wal-Mart, Microsoft…everyone except the public hates them.

  3. Avatar Ann Ominous says:

    Apparently not ALL the public.
Your statement and of course publius’ usual retarded statement, useful idiot for the Corporate Whoremasters that (s)he is, sounds like the statement from the Mississippi Sheriff saying “Ouah Nigras wuz perfectly happy with segregation until all these heah Outside Agitators came down stirin’ things up.”

Face it, you two or is it one, if we’re so weak and helpless why do your Coward PIG enforcers keep showing up wearing armor and using force to try to convince us to give up?

Maybe you like the idea of slave labor because you’re paid slightly more than the other slaves? Sellouts, in other words. Hold the people in bondage like good little Nazis.

The Gestapo couldn’t control the Reich by themselves, they had to have sellouts among the various conquered populations.

  4. Avatar Ann Ominous says:

Yeah, I played the “fellow-traveler, head-nigger-in-charge, Uncle Tom, compliant little bitches, informants, collaborators, Fifth Columnist, pinko, whatever insult Rush Limbaugh tells you to throw out” card that you Knee Jerk Back The Badge Right Wing MORONS throw our way.

Why? Because you’re really fucking stupid and that’s the only type of argument you reich-tards understand.

A collar of gold is just another slave-collar and a golden chain is just another chain.

Simon LeGree in real life would have been a slave who was given the same level of “authority” you two jerkoffs hope to achieve. It’s called Head Nigger In Charge, and it’s a plantation insult given by both the slaves who they helped to hold down and by their owners.

It expresses the notion that you’re only “in charge” if you’re told to be by Yo Massah, and backed up by the military, police, courts etc system of the Plantation South.

Much like cops who feel they’re so very powerful as long as they’re in their gang of other Pathetic Uniformed Coward Morons.

You want power to rule over your fellow slaves but you only have it as long as YOU obey your Masters. Some “freedom” y’all got going there, kind of like your Momma’s virtue and your daddy’s Trojan, they don’t really stand up under pressure.

Freedom to lick your master’s boot. If you lick their boots enough maybe they’ll let you sleep in the Big House… on the floor right next to the Massa’s dogs.

I bet your owners put you on public display too. “Look at our obedient little dog-slaves” and the other masters laugh at your pathetic little pretend authority.

  5. I am very aware of how affirmed and complete one can feel inside, by feeling that one is the only brave one, a lone voice of courage and reason amid a horde of shambling pod people. But if you would turn your attention back to my point for a moment (I’m not publius, btw), please consider: Wal-Mart’s low prices are like a tax cut for people living in poverty. Such people do not share the letist ideal, that everyone should make their living knitting potholders on some hippie commune. If it is good for you to be able to live your life with as little unnecessary hardship as possible, why isn’t it good for them?

  6. Avatar Ann Ominous says:

Spend a lot of time telling us that “all is lost, give up, you have no chance!” then having the pigs tear gas us, club us and all in all treat us as though they’re very very frightened.

A tax cut for people living in poverty, like the people who supply the ultra-cheap crap Wally World sells? The ones who live in Third World Hell and work their collective ass off for a dollar a day?

I worked for a Temporary Labor Contractor in Texas whose only product was OUR labor, for which they charged the customers SIX TIMES what they paid us.

That’s an 82% tax taken straight out of our pay just for the privilege of working for the thieves. Run by Halliburton and their recruitment subsidized by the PIGS. Refuse to work under the Texas “right to work” law and you spend a lot of time in jail, that’s what happens when you have no unions.

YOUR God-damn corporate masters felt so much concern for the well being of the workers, why don’t the motherfuckers pay us enough money to pay our landlords, utilities, health care, grocers, and other creditors?
Why do THEY have a right to make a profit on OUR labor and WE don’t even have a right to break even?

But they “care for the well being of the workers” right?

    You lying piece of shit.

Also out of that minimum wage I was supposed to pay my own health insurance. And my own workmans compensation.

When the fuckers broke my foot beyond repair, on the job, due to one of the other factors of “right to work”, No Safety Regulations Enforced, I was abandoned by the company.

No health care, no chance at redress of grievances in the Courts which supposedly protect everybody but really only protect the rich, and your Same Right To Work overlords who “care so much for the poor” took away even what protections and rights we had in court.

The upshot of that is that next month I might lose my foot, I’ve already had two decades of pain from it, the “best” I can hope for is two more decades of pain. And then some lying ass Right Wing Puke says the Corporations actually give a fuck about the welfare and the rights of the workers?

That’s called “tort reform” which is a not very subtle way of the rich saying that OUR lives aren’t equal to those of Their Royal Majesties.

Then they get semi-educated MORONS like yourself to tell us that, over and over again.
You chicken-shit Elitists wouldn’t be so annoying if you actually WERE better than us, which is exactly what you’ve spent two comment posts saying.

The “poster child” case you non-elite Elitists including Ron Paul and Ron Reagan used to take away our rights in court, through tort reform?
    Bhopal, India.
Union Carbide set up a plant there for the cheap labor and deregulation, exactly like the WalMart suppliers whom MORONS like yourself think you can convince REAL workers that they actually care about us.

The plant had a chemical leak. Deregulation and anti-union strikes again.

The official immediate death toll was 2,259 and the government of Madhya Pradesh has confirmed a total of 3,787 deaths related to the gas release.[2] Others estimate 3,000 died within weeks and another 8,000 have since died from gas-related diseases.[3][4] A government affidavit in 2006 stated the leak caused 558,125 injuries including 38,478 temporary partial and approximately 3,900 severely and permanently disabling injuries.[5] As many as 25,000 deaths have been attributed to the disaster in recent estimates.[6]

The compensation for it, which Right Wing Elitist-Extremists like Ron Paul screamed, sniveled and whined about it being “way too much, because after all, the only ones killed were Poor People”.

The Corporate “Kind, caring and concerned about the welfare of the Poor” like you claimed?

UCC Chairman and CEO Warren Anderson was arrested and released on bail by the Madhya Pradesh Police in Bhopal on December 7, 1984. The arrest, which took place at the airport, ensured Anderson would meet no harm by the Bhopal community. Anderson was taken to UCC’s house after which he was released six hours later on $2,100 bail and flown out on a government plane. In 1987, the Indian government summoned Anderson, eight other executives and two company affiliates with homicide charges to appear in Indian court.[53] Union Carbide balked, saying the company is not under Indian jurisdiction.[53]

In 1991, local Bhopal authorities charged Anderson, who had retired in 1986, with manslaughter, a crime that carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. He was declared a fugitive from justice by the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Bhopal on February 1, 1992, for failing to appear at the court hearings in a culpable homicide case in which he was named the chief defendant. Orders were passed to the Government of India to press for an extradition from the United States.

The U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal of the decision of the lower federal courts in October 1993, meaning that victims of the Bhopal disaster could not seek damages in a US court.[49]

See, they owned the property, and the lives of the workers, but they somehow weren’t liable for any damages they committed.

The compensation for the lost lives and permanently injured?
Even for those compensated, only about 10% of the dead and injured? Less than $300 per person.

YOU might think YOUR child or your own life to be worth less than that of the Rich Bitches like Warren Anderson, but the rest of us don’t.

Oh, and you remember me writing about another Mega-corporation, Halliburton, maiming me at work, uncompensated?
They get their money tax free and given to them by government actions, Tax Subsidized government actions like the unprovoked attacks on Iraq and Afghanistan. They’re the Ultimate Welfare Recipients.

The “service” they charged me 82% of the money that was paid for MY labor?

Unions provide that for free to their members.
Yeah, bad ol’ Union Dues, something like 5 to 10% of your pay…

That’s one hell of a lot less than a 5/1 split in favor of the Corporate Thieves. Subsidized by the Texas Courts and Texas Police who arrest people for trying to organize Labor Unions.

But you bitches really really love you some workers, right?

Go lie to yo momma, she might be stupid enough to believe your bullshit.

  7. Avatar Pubilius says:

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama’s socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama’s plan”. All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A…. (substituting grades for dollars – something closer to home and more readily understood by all).
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.
The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F. As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed. It could not be any simpler than that.

    1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
    2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
    3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
    4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
    5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

  8. Avatar Ann Ominous says:

Your side attempts to legislate the workers into perpetual poverty by denying us the RIGHT to organize and negotiate our own wages. Walmart, for instance, has thousands of lawyers whose only job is to keep the workers in wage slavery.

One worker, negotiating for himself, doesn’t have a chance to hire even ONE lawyer.

Your Corporate Parasite Class also have gotten exactly ALL their wealth at the expense of others. The workers here, of course, and their foreign suppliers.

Like the Union Carbide workers and their neighbors in Bhopal.
    Talk about legislating equality?
We ARE your equals, Bitch. Legislating recognition of that equality seems to be what pisses off you pseudo-intellectual pseudo-Elites.

I bet you’re one of those who teaches your nasty little demon spawn piglets to go into the homeless peoples camps and destroy what few belongings they have, aren’t you?

You also probably teach them to be physical cowards as well as moral and intellectual cowards, and only do their assaults when the homeless Working People are out at the day-labor slave market job. MOST homeless people do that, you know.
Or maybe when it comes to knowledge like that, you simply choose to refuse.

Since your Corporate “heroes” have spent back some of their Corporate Welfare (actually, they deduct legal fees, lobbying and buying elections from their taxes so they don’t really pay for that either) they DO legislate through their bought off “justice” department, the Bought Off Corporate Supreme Court, the Bought Off Country Club Senate and House, and the state and local equivalents everywhere (Like Colorado Springs City Hall) they DO legislate themselves acquiring wealth at the expense of the entire rest of the world.

A retard like you wouldn’t be able to figure that out on your own so somebody has to teach you.

You’ll probably refuse that knowledge as well, but others won’t and I write for their benefit.

You can go back to selling the real estate which was gotten at publicly funded gunpoint from the original inhabitants, Janis.

And be sure to tell your piglets that they and you actually earned that land.

  9. Avatar Ann Ominous says:

Oh, and that WalMart data center you babbled about?

Congratulations, you’ve just sucked out a chunk of Corporate Bullshit while you were kissing their ass.
That’s a result of DOWNSIZING only now they’re calling it “consolidation” because they switch their buzzwords every time enough people catch on to the other ones.

The jobs they’re bringing to the Springs are the same as when one battalion of infantry moves from one Corporate Empire vassal state to another, like when your Corporate Conquistadors moved soldiers from Iraq to Afghanistan or to Panama or Nicaragua, or when Ronald Reagan, in a publicity stunt to divert attention from him and Ollie North and the rest of their nest of Traitors sold a literal shipload of American weapons to the same people who subsequently bombed the American Embassy and the airport in Beirut, killing 300 U.S. Marines and some French paratroopers.

You’d probably not be interested in the French as they, like the workers WalMart and it’s Corporate Empire partners enslave in Other Countries, are considered to be Subhuman by elitists like yourself.
Reagan then moved a U.S. fleet with thousands of Marines to a Caribbean island, Grenada, to beat up on a medical school run by Cuba. See, no actual creation of jobs.

They also did the whole deal, moving drugs and weapons through Lebanon, Israel, Colombia, Miami, Panama, Iraq, Iran etc to get money to pay their Terrorist “contra” militia to murder mostly civilians, including priests, doctors, nuns, school teachers, school children, bombing hospitals and schools and churches and even a Catholic orphanage in order to bring those Nicaraguan people about whom you shed so many crocodile tears back into Corporate Slavery.
But you’re probably proud of that.

Closer to home, when Hewlett Packard and Intel moved out of their heavily subsidized (by tax breaks given by your Corporate Sponsored City Council and County Commissioners) because they got an even bigger taxpayer-funded bribe to move to Little Rock Arkansas… they also “restructured” “downsized” consolidated operations the same way WalMart is doing here.

The “jobs” they’re bringing already have workers filling them, who are going to add to the overpopulation problem, WalMart will once again be using City and County resources, police, fire, water, sewage treatment, road maintenance, traffic control etc and once more they’ll have a tax break so the burden will be shifted onto the existing Colorado Springs taxpayers.

And they hoped to flim-flam everybody in Colorado into believing they’re doing a good thing.
They’re also eliminating about two thirds of the jobs from the data centers they’re consolidating.

See, like the revolution in Mexico, subsequently the nationalization of their Oil industry, which funded the medical care system, education of doctors (including at the Medical Schools Reagan and his Corporate Imperial StormTroopers liberated on Grenada) and public education of the general population, we have public education in America.
Due to legislation pressed onto the Corporate Government by the Unions you so despise.

In Mexico prior to the overthrow of El Porfirisma, 80 percent of the people couldn’t read or write.
That was with the private school and Hoam Skewel system your Elitists say will save American education.

Now most Americans can at least read and write, a partial success from the partial socialization of America.

In Mexico, before the revolution, 90% or more of the people had never actually seen a Medical Doctor.
Now everybody there has health care that’s better than the U.S. and their literacy rate is higher than the U.S.

But since there is some Public Education available in America, like in Mexico, the Working Class at whom you direct your Elitist sneers can read the insults you pour out on them.

They can clearly read and understand you telling them that you’re better than we are.

and they can read the answers written by a person who was a day-laborer, being taxed at an 82% rate by his employer until his employer chose to break his body.

See, that’s another success of Socialism and of the Unions.
It’s probably also the reason you Corporate Elitists are attacking Public Education.

  10. Avatar Tony Logan says:

Huh? Ann, just this one paragraph of yours below was so hilariously uninformed and idiotic that it alone made me laugh for over half an hour.

‘In Mexico, before the revolution, 90% or more of the people had never actually seen a Medical Doctor. Now everybody there has health care that’s better than the U.S. and their literacy rate is higher than the U.S.’

Stop smoking so much weed, Ann. Or stop snorting that glue or whatever you are on…. HONESTLY!
