Nebraskan elders around a bonfire

This is a detail from a gruesome photograph taken of a 1919 lynch mob posing around their burning victim, African-American Will Brown. 10,000 Nebraskan grandfathers and great-grandfathers recorded the moment for posterity at the intersection of 17th and Dodge in Omaha.
