Racists don’t care about hurricanes in Puerto Rico or typhoons hitting Guam

American viewers saw no coverage of Hurricane Irma as it hit Cuba, even as Irma was the 24/7 headline story. Instead we watched live feeds from Florida as TV crews braved the wind and wet to report on preparations there. It was boring stuff compared to what we could surmise was being blacked out from Cuba. The understanding was clear: Americans only care about natural disasters as they impact Americans. Perhaps it's more accurate to say, by America we mean the United States of America. When Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico, our news networks ignored it like a disaster befalling any other third world republic of colored people. Puerto Rico is a US territory. We deny Puerto Rico statehood or representation in Congress --essentially the protections stateside citizens enjoy against unfettered free trade capitalism-- but Puerto Ricans are Americans. Viewers apparently also don't care about typhoons which hit Guam or American Samoa in the Pacific for the same reason. So while Puerto Ricans suffer, domestic news coverage is dominated by the NFL taking a knew, or football players linking arms to prevent spoilers taking a knee. And the media make that about the flag and the anthem instead of about the protest's original focus, police brutality against dark skinned people. Point fingers at your insufficiently schooled allies or at southern rebels or at white pride weirdos, but whose racism surpasses them all is America's corporate media.

Those statues they’re taking down honored REBELS. Let that sink in.

If we're really aiming to discredit historic personages who faught for slavery we've got a lot more statues to take down. The Alamo first responders come to mind. Boone, Crockett, and gang delivered the Texas territories from Mexico which had abolished slavery there. Gringo Texas land grabbers needed slaves for their intended plantations. And we can go back to the colonial declarers of independance, who resented taxation without representation. What was England trying to foist on America without representation? ABOLITION OF SLAVERY. The statues being taken down in New Orleans are no doubt going to rich collectors to decorate vast private gardens. There the statues wil definitely be appreciated for overt racist and segregationist themes. In the historic town centers where those monuments belong, those statues celebrate REBELS. Let that sink in. Before the victors chose the title "Civil War" for their prerogative to write the history, it was called the War of Rebellion. When Honest Abe heard the news about your fall, The folks thought he'd call a great victory ball. But he asked the band to play the song "Dixie" For you Johnny Reb and all that you believe. 'Cause you fought all the way, Johny Reb, Johnny Reb. Yeah, you fought all the way, Johnny Reb. That's what those statues are about, you Freedom-Fries munching knee-jerks!

Modern Nat Turner insures Dallas cops cannot assail Black lives with impunity

Was ANYBODY going to stop the unfettered lynching of people of color in America? Did President Obama ever deliver anything more than a eulogy? Few police officers are being convicted or even indicted. Videotaped killings of black men by lawmen have become so common, those disseminating the videos are being accused of harboring fetishes. People expressing offense online are being shamed for being clicktivists, though clearly the only fuels firing public outrage are the videos. Meanwhile Black Lives Matter spokespeople have become so jaded they ridicule the efficacy of street protests. And now everyone is condemning the lone direct action taker. The killing of any human being is terrible, but the retaliatory killings of police in Dallas could have been prevented. Not by expecting minority communities to stomach further and unending extrajudicial assassinations, but by having police curb their racism and use of lethal force. Or of course by disbanding militarized police departments. Public officials can't even broach that conversation. Do we expect the police state to dismantle itself? Self-styled black revolutionary Micah Xavier Johnson, a typical PTSD-hardened Afghan vet, put "suicide by cop" to the service of his embattled community and avenged the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. He didn't shoot their actual killers, but he didn't hit innocents either. Johnson targeted America's systemic enforcers of inequity, hitting twelve police officers, five of whom have now died. Let's note those cops weren't "protecting the first amendment rights" of a spontaneous protest of the Sterling and Castile murders, but were harassing and detering demonstrations. The officers could have chosen not to, and hopefully, their comrades in other cities, molesting other legal assemblies, may now choose to stand down, because now authoritarian bullying has come in the line of fire. There is poetic justice for those who would decry "Blue Lives Matter". If they're going to pretend it, let them feel the oppressive threat of violence which black lives bear. For one evening, in a small corner of Dallas, Texas, police brutality faced a comeuppance. For now Johnson's act is being condemned as an atrocity, as a massacre even, though obviously his victims 1) met every standard of belligerent adversary, 2) were armed, and 3) outnumbered him. Let's concede that Johnson is a credit to his military training. He confirms how our soldiers could so murderously rapage through our war zones against lesser equipped combatants. Johnson's motive echoes that which provoked US atrocities overseas, seeking revenge against civilians, exacting collective punishment for deadly IEDs. If we acknowledge the violence with which African Americans are oppressed, and the mendacity of its apologists and enablers, can we condemn violent resistance? International law accords oppressed peoples the human right to resist. Slave rebellion leader Nat Turner is recognized today as a hero, but was exhaustively vilified in his day because he killed slave owners, indescriminate of old or young. Whites retaliated and killed many more blacks. More violence follwed from abolitionsists and Jayhawkers, all of it lamentable.

Denver art student informs Tale of Two Hoodies with Goya’s Third of May 1808. This KKK cop executes the black child.

DENVER, COLORADO- Here's what the Denver Post article didn't explain about the Denver high school art student who was pressured to remove her controversial piece from public display. Where was it being shown? At the Wellington Webb Building. That's not irrelevant because it's where viewers became offended. You could go inquire about the incident, if you knew where to ask, or where to protest the work's removal. The WELLINGTON WEBB BUILDING downtown on Colfax. What's so controversial, the scene is real isn't it? There's more. The student's drawing is essentially a reproduction of Michael D'Antuono's 2014 piece "A Tale of Two Hoodies" which still sparks outrage. Missing in this version is the bag of Skittles which the black child offers the cop, locking the two figures in a standoff. Or obviously a mugging. The Skittles of course recalls Trayvon Martin and we know how that ended. The hands in the air references "Hands Up Don't Shoot" and Michael Brown who shared the same fate. All else about the Denver student's contextualization of D'Antuono's work is the same, the confederate flag uncovered from beneath the wallpaper of Old Glory. In the student's piece the American flag appears worn through. In D'Ontuono's original the racist flag has bursted through. The cop and hood are the same, except in the original the cop was maybe more fat. What's also missing in the DenPo whitewash is the context of the unamed student's assignment. She was tasked with contextualizing TWO works. The influence of the second piece is not as apparent as the first. The boy's hands-up wasn't merely recalling the mantra of the Black Lives Matter movement, it was evoking the student's other chosen influence, Goya's famous "The Third of May 1808." In that iconic work, a firing squad is executing a rebel with outstretched arms. KNOWING THIS, you can see the student's policeman has drawn his gun for an EXECUTION, not an arrest. The boy is not following an order or raising his hands in surrender. If even in resignation, this boy's upheld arms communicate a plea. How does that inform you about this young Denver student's understanding of "Hands Up Don't Shoot" or "I Can't Breathe"? The officer's Klan hood certifies that this shooting is a lynching. Many lynchings in the traditional sense were perpetrated by deputized citizens. Denver Chief of Police Robert White said of the student's work: "I'm greatly concerned about how this painting portrays the police." Well sure, and Chief White didn't know the half of it. Should you go complain at the Wellington Webb Building? The Denpo article mentions Chief White intends to "have a conversation with the student and her parents." You may want to caution that the Office of the Independent Monitor be invited attend that conversation, as a ride-along so to speak, to assure it isn't the one-sided transaction to which we are becoming accostomed and inured. Does Chief White think that racially enhanced officer involved extrajudicial executions should not be a student's concern? He needs to look

Police toss brutality victims and video evidence in box with Schrodinger’s cat

DENVER, COLORADO- Denver jailers killed 50-yr-old schitzophrenic Michael Marshall in the exact manner they killed Marvin Booker five years ago except this time they kept it under wraps. By throwing their victim's body in with Schrodinger's cat. Authorities in Denver and Minneapolis have learned you can have your cake and kill it too, so long as you postpone the public learning what the outcome was. It's the lesson of Schrodinger's Cat. If you kill an unarmed man, for god's sake don't drape him in a shroud. Ship his body to the hospital under guard and stick it on life support. Medical privacy laws forbid health workers from disclosing the patient's fate. Minneapolis police held off public outrage over the shooting of Jamar Clark with the same technique: say he's on life support until it's no longer plausible. Schrodinger's box works for damning videos too. Until the public can open the box, hopefully never, the police did AND didn't commit the atrocity.

Who okayed Chicago’s $5 million hush payment for killing Laquan McDonald? Did buck stop with Rahm Emanuel?

Laquan McDonald's murder was covered up for over a year, five million was paid to his family to keep the killing under wraps. The Chicago police officer who shot McDonald was only charged after the video came to light. Laquan McDonald was killed on October 20, 2014, two months after Michael Brown. Ferguson protests were in full swing. Imagine if the communities of South Chicago had seen the video when Black Lives Matter was in ascendance. It's hard to say from how high heads should roll over this scandal. Were the Ferguson and Baltimore riots countered from above? Was riot police strategy coordinated by agencies above municipal hierarchies like Chicago's? We know the Baltimore protests were monitored by FBI surveillance flights. Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel most certainly should be forced to resign, but the authority which quashed the Laquan video is no doubt sitting on others, and this abuse extends beyond racism. Laquan McDonald's killing and coverup didn't just happen 400-odd days ago. It happened in the thick of Black Lives coming to Matter. Chicago cops were deleting Burger King security camera video while Ferguson solidarity protests were happening in Chicago.

Confederate flag still flies over Denver

DENVER, COLORADO- All eyes have been on South Carolina, Bree Newsome, and the White Supremacist rallies which have percolated since, but Colorado indignants could note that a Confederate battle flag does still fly over Denver. The historic Riverside Cemetery commemorates Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and notable Civil War anniversaries with flags honoring American soldiers. They don't fly Old Glory over the Confederate vets and the manager assured me they don't plan to dishonor the Rebels with a Union flag anytime soon. On the graveyard's Northwest side, nearest to the Evans crypt there's a cobblestone patch where the bricks are engraved with the names of Colorado veterans who served the Confederacy. Over the gathering is a flag pole which was dedicated in 2003. It's a discrete affair visible to only visitors touring the cemetery's historic tombstones or dog-walkers heading out to the Riverside's wetland conservation area.

Requiring activists to “make space” for black or brown voices, if apolitical or reformist, is a counterinsurgency trap.

OFF-STREET ACTIVISM floweth over with do-gooders begging for a seat at the table, literally, tables, where the powers-that-be want them. Street protest organizers are berated about providing forums for disenfranchised voices, as if indoor choir-singing yields redress of grievances. Leaders of disadvantaged communities mistake cis-gendered, white activists for their actual oppressors, because that's easier than facing down the police. But the dynamic is disingenuous subterfuge and it's not coming from the allies who matter. The people of Ferguson did not wait for white social justice groups to "make space" for their protest. You'd think the lesson of Ferguson is obvious. Across non-Ferguson, religious community leaders and token spokespeople of color insist that they should monopolize local manifestations of anti-racism movements. Never mind that their call is for people to sit in church pews, meet with cops, vote, GOTV, petition, or join intra-city marches to nowhere, nowhere more than away from urban uprisings. In Denver I have never seen black resistance voices or leadership unwelcome at any rally no matter the subject. But I have seen tokenism at #BlackLivesMatter events used to discredit radicals and diffuse public outcry. The making space argument certainly applies to entrenched nonprofit leadership but among militant voices it's a laugh. If anyone is oppressing upstart minority voices it's the seniority membership who don't want unscheduled rocking of the boat. Reformist claptrap is the police state's first line of defense. "Black Lives Matter" must be shouted loudly even if your token black appointees won't. Don't mind the usual detractors peddling apolitical identity politics, let's call them IDENTITY A-POLITICS, they're a counter-revolutionary tactic to divide natural allies. This has been used against insurgents across the country, from Deep Green Resistance to Occupy, as fly-paper to waylay alliances or force effective organizations to go down the old rabbit holes occasioned by the usual novice errors. Ferguson has shown the way. The anniversary of Mike Brown's killing on August 9, 2014, correctly commemorates the public uprising not the policeman's bullet. Unsurprisingly the early emphasis is being placed on ensuring crowd anger doesn't get out of control. The eyes on the ball, whether blue or brown, focus on the racist police state. The Black Lives Matter activists who interrupted Netroots Nation shared knowing themes through a people's mic. Here's a transcript of what they chanted until shut down by the speakers on stage. If I die in police custody. #BlackLivesMatter at #netrootsnation If I die in police custody, Do not let my parents talk to Don Lemon, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Or any of the motherfuckers Who would destroy my name. Let my parents know That my sisters got this. If I die in police custody, Say my name, say my name. Say the name that I chose, Not the one that I was given. If I die in police custody, Make sure that I am remembered. Make sure my sisters are remembered. Say their names. Say their names. If I die in ICE custody, Say that I am not a criminal. Stop funding prisons and detention centers! Shut ICE down

Drop symbols of White Supremacy, but don’t embolden government supremacy

SORRY, I DO HAVE A PROBLEM with government telling me how to think or telling me what I can't say. Flags mean a lot to me and I CAN imagine MY flag being declared hateful or a public threat. How is anyone to rally like-minded dissenters when a government and its corporate media can declare their rallying symbol non grata? I don't like the Confederate rebel flag either, it is modern code for unrepentant white racism, but I'm hugely skeptical when Big Brother is driving the bandwagon. How amusing that activists eager to burn Confederate flags find that the major retailers have already banned them. There's a statement you're being prevented making. Scrap White Supremacy but we must cling tightly to the supremacy of individuals over their government. Could the censors come for your flag too? I'm not big on national flags. However, the flags with which I associate ideologically, let's be honest, scream regicide. Imagine if the next mass shooter lunatic leaves selfies with an Anarchist flag or an Anon mask. "Rise up" is hate speech to oligarchs. Guys, when Walmart, Target, Dixie politicians and the White House are on your side, you're fantasizing and you're on the wrong side. If the vocabulary of racism, such as the word "nigger", is effaced, how are we to talk about it? We had this argument about Mark Twain's use of the word in Huckleberry Finn. Literature lost as I remember. How blessed we would be to forget about slavery, except the same demographic is enslaved today in the prison system, while we white-out the words we need to recognize it. Let's be generous for a moment. The "Rebel" Flag, even as it draws racists like flies, is also about rebellion. Did you know the Civil War wears a revisionist title? Until America's foreign excursions, the Civil War was called the War of Rebellion. Formal documents of the period are still bound as the Union's record of the War of Rebellion. Who effected the name change and why? Did it benefit the victor to write the history of the Civil War to cast slavery as its predominant issue? To justify the sacrifice of lives and trampling of state sovereignty? The American national identity is that of revolutionaries rebelling against authoritarian rule. Was it confusing to let the bad guys usurp the rebel image? I think it's a lie to believe the common Southerner fought to preserve slavery. Just as it is to pretend the common German soldier defended the extermination camps. The average Johnny Rebel fought off the Yankee foreigner. Johnny Rebel was racist but no more so than his northern adversary. Lynchings of black men happened in both North and South. If you want to hold a flag to account for racism, you'll find a greater offender in the Union Flag, and today's fifty star equivalent. The Stars and Stripes flew over the slave trade, the genocide of Native Americans, and the conquest and exploitation of indigenous peoples everywhere since. If you want to fight

PHOTOS: Activists calling for Justice for Jessica Hernandez in 2015 Denver Pride Parade, blocked police joining in.

DENVER, COLORADO- A #JusticeForJessie action led by Branching Seedz of Resistance jumped into the Denver Pride Parade to block a police contingent from joining the procession. Activists held off the DPD for 10 minutes while leaders spoke against the January 26 murder of queer Latina teen Jessica Hernandez by DPD. After the disruptive standoff, BSEEDZ stood aside and was cheered by passing paraders until tucking themselves back into the parade under cover of allied group. Despite the #Black Lives Matter theme of the MLK Marade earlier this year, no opposition was shown to marching side by side with Denver police. At PRIDE, community youth leaders were having none of that. Just after the start of the parade, BSEEDZ wove through the crowd until they were ahead of the DPD cycles. Then with cries of JUSTICE FOR JESSIE and DISARM THE DPD they stopped the show.

Last Rhodesian Dylann Roof was racist and white supremacist AND mentally ill

When a white racist mass murderer is apprehended, it's a Western law enforcement tradition not to treat the suspect as cops do suspects of color. Fortunately television audience are now rejecting this inequity, and predictably they call for blood, instead of suggesting that all pre-trial interaction with police be conducted with respect for the presumed innocent. Similarly, white shooters and bombers are not called terrorists or racists but rather loners struggling with mental illness. I think it's hugely important to call out the racism and xenophobia which breeds antisocial renegades like Dylann Storm Roof, and NOT judge Roof differently than the rare but much abused non-white even un-domestic insurgent. But why dismiss the insanity defense, when it obviously plays a part in more crimes not fewer. Dylann Roof was on psych meds. That's another nightmare altogether, by which I mean for the pharmaceutical industry, who I think have a perfect record for supplementing white mass shooters. American prisons are filled with mental illness and mental disability and mental shortcomings. The justice system needs to be reformed with respect for mental health challenges, not with calls to get tougher on those with lesser ability to cope in society. Dylann Roof's alleged manifesto shows he's not the brightest bulb either. I was not raised in a racist home or environment. Living in the South, almost every White person has a small amount of racial awareness, simply because of the numbers of negroes in this part of the country. But it is a superficial awareness. Growing up, in school, the White and black kids would make racial jokes toward each other, but all they were were jokes. Me and White friends would sometimes would watch things that would make us think that “blacks were the real racists” and other elementary thoughts like this, but there was no real understanding behind it. The event that truly awakened me was the Trayvon Martin case. I kept hearing and seeing his name, and eventually I decided to look him up. I read the Wikipedia article and right away I was unable to understand what the big deal was. It was obvious that Zimmerman was in the right. But more importantly this prompted me to type in the words “black on White crime” into Google, and I have never been the same since that day. The first website I came to was the Council of Conservative Citizens. There were pages upon pages of these brutal black on White murders. I was in disbelief. At this moment I realized that something was very wrong. How could the news be blowing up the Trayvon Martin case while hundreds of these black on White murders got ignored? From this point I researched deeper and found out what was happening in Europe. I saw that the same things were happening in England and France, and in all the other Western European countries. Again I found myself in disbelief. As an American we are taught to accept living in the melting pot, and

On Nikki Haley, calling for the Death Penalty

Let's all grab our pitch forks, run around and find something to kill. There now! that should make us all feel better about what happened. If you listen to moron politicians like Nikki Halley, then you are the sucker she is counting on. "Kill Dylann", there! problem solved.   It was reported by some news media, that Dylann wanted to start a race war, because he lost a girl he liked to another boy who happen to be black. Guess Dylann wasn't keeping up with current events, there is already a race war in progress. You need only look at the fact that he is still alive, after the horrific crime he is suspected of, while many, many black men, women and children are dead, committing no crime at all. The number of these racially motivated crimes by the police are hidden for fear the citizens will see the true nature of their "Protect and Serve" law enforcement. Here are some facts; 1. The NRA; Since 1998, the NRA has spent $28.2 million on lobbying in Washington and employed between 16 and 35 lobbyists in any given year. 2. While The Bureau of Justice Statics does not provide the annual number of arrest-related deaths by race or ethnicity, a rough calculation based on its data shows that black people were about four times as likely to die in custody or while being arrested than whites. 3. Black men were more than six times as likely as white men to be incarcerated in federal and state prisons, and local jails. 4. While people of color make up about 30 percent of the United States’ population, they account for 60 percent of those imprisoned. I could provide more facts and figures, they are there for anyone wishing to see the truth. As for Nikki and her comments; She is the worst of politicians, she is only appealing to the emotions of the moment. According to a March 29, 2011 Congressional Research Service report, Congress has approved a total of $1.283 trillion for military operations, this taxpayer money was spent to protect Americans from the "Terrorist", you know, that brown skinned man who lives in some foreign land. While at home, in the USA, the "Terrorist" is protected by the second amendment. "There have been at least 70 mass shootings across the country, with the killings unfolding in 30 states from Massachusetts to Hawaii. Thirty-three of these mass shootings have occurred since 2006. Seven of them took place in 2012 alone, including Sandy Hook". Mass shootings toll exceeds 900 in past seven years, we can now add another 9 people to that list. How many tax dollars have been spent keeping guns out of the hands of the "American Terrorist?" ZERO. The NRA has made sure of this with their control of congress. It should be noted that the NRA supports the supply of weapons to both the American and Foreign "Terrorist". The NRA like most of American Corporations sole function is to make money, and they have now militarized

FreddieGray’s spine was severed at the neck. I believe literally that is lynching.

African American Freddie Gray died as a result of his spine being severed at his neck. It's no hyperbole to describe the continuing police murders of young black men as deputized, mob LYNCHINGS. The overwhelming victims of these extrajudicial executions are people of color. As if to underline this point, Baltimore police made this clear in no uncertain medical terms. I'm not a doctor, but what injury could better support the inference that Freddie Gray was lynched?

Tulsa sheriff lets yahoo donors ride along to taser or shoot black suspects

So. Black man Eric Harris was killed by Oklahoma lawmen last week, accidentally shot in the back by a deputy who thought he was triggering his taser, not his gun. He didn't unholster one instead of the other, he actually jumped out of the cruiser with a weapon in each hand! Funny thing about that deputy... --But first let's make clear that the Tulsa County Sheriff has already excused the officer of wrongdoing, likewise all the other cops who piled on Harris as he died, mocking his final breath. "Fuck your breath" said one cop as they kneed Harris' face into the pavement until he died. So triggerman Robert Bates was an "Advance Reserve" deputy, a retired insurance exec who donated to the department and thus was allowed to ride along with regular deputies and use tasers on people and other fun stuff. Bates used to be a cop in 1965 when black men were lynched more regularly --so White America believed. It turns out nothing has changed since those days. Except that today's lynch mobs are not open to the public, today extrajudicial executioners have to wear a badge. Naturally good ol' boys like Bates want a piece of that action. It turns out, to be a volunteer donor-deputy is also a license to kill. Bates flat out shot Eric Harris as he laid on the ground. Though lawmen were converging from multiple vehicles and the winded Harris was already prone, someone called "taser, taser". That's when Bates pulled his gun instead and fired. Then Deputy Oops said "I'm sorry. I shot him!" The other deputies now pretend they didn't hear Bates, or the gunshot. That is their defense for climbing on the victim and hastening his death. The whole gruesome execution is on video, which the Tulsa County Sheriff supplied to make the case that the officers acted appropriately. One of these days, a video will emerge of a deputized-donor riding along wearing a white hood and a noose.

US militarism is on the increase, and so is American societal racism- First Look

Americans tend to see racism in terms of being solely a Black and White, White versus Black sort of issue. And since we no longer have an overt and blatant, separate but not very equal Apartheid State, White Americans tend to pat themselves on the back and then deny that much any racism actually still exists in US society. This mindset then goes on to blame Blacks for there still being huge problems in their communities. Whites have done their part to make equality supposedly happen say these Whites, and if US Blacks are worse off today, it is only because they are not as good and hard working as Whites mostly think that they themselves are. These American Whites then go on to especially believe that Blacks have been given equal opportunities inside the Pentagon war machine, and therefore ALL societal racism has basically gone bye bye. Heck! The Commander in Chief himself is Black, so what's the real complaint any lazy no good 'un American' has in attacking our US society as still supposedly being largely a racist one? How so? It just cannot be! If anything, it is all us Whites who are victims of being falsely accused of always being victimizers, when we Whites have changed ourselves so drastically from back when MLK had to fight the police dogs! Enough is Enough! Let's ALL TOGETHER move on! Racism is just not a deep problem today anymore in the USA. What is still a problem, is how Blacks feel that thy are all so entitled, and yada yada yada.... So is this a true picture of US society, with White on Black racism just evaporating, and racism as an issue now no longer being a relevant issue in America? Has opportunity opened up, and is that now the end of story? Or, is it perhaps more factual, that this frame of reference about US racism that most Whites have about society is entirely wrong and off the wall to begin with? Is racism a problem that principally centers just around how American Whites treat Blacks, or is there more to it than that? What more might there be? As the title to my commentary shows, I believe that societal racism in the US is getting worse and worse, and that the bloated US military machine is the reason for that, rather than being solution to only a past racism that is being disposed of. We will examine why it can be argued that the US military is making institutional racism in the US worse, in the next look we take examining this issue.

New Yorker cover sparks controversy, inserts cop among lives that matter

The New Yorker Magazine's MLK Day issue has everyone upset. It's not that there are no women in the march, sorry. That's another issue. Marching with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. are now iconic men of color whose lynchings have sparked recent protests. There's Eric, Trayvon, Michael, and ...WTF, one of the NYC cops whose murder might be attributable to the unrest. Maybe. But it wasn't due to his race. To the elite, these lives may be equivalent, and to hell with #BlackLivesMatter. One of these things doesn't belong here, one of these things just isn't the same. One of these things killed all the other, including Martin. WHICH OF THESE MARCHERS WASN'T KILLED BY A COP, WANNABE-COP, OR THE US GOVERNMENT?

NON, JE NE SUIS PAS CHARLIE. Charlie Hebdo publie des connerie racistes

Might a satirist consider exercising SOME discretion in one's pursuit of Freedom of Speech? AS IF that is Charlie Hebdo's lofty ideal. Heralded as court jesters, I would submit they are weapons of cultural imperialism, the point men propagandists in a very real, genocidal war. Playing along with the corporate spin that the Paris gunmen simply had no sense of humor, I can hardly imagine that American Taliban, many of our armed soldiers among them, would stomach similar desecrations of their Lord Jesus. One has merely to Google "Charlie Hebdo" to see the paper's unrelentingly racist attacks on Islam. I do not condone executing their cartoonists, but I'm not about to stand in solidarity with their foolishness and bigotry, or their condescending secular ridicule in promotion of Western fascism.

Office of Colorado Springs N.A.A.C.P. bombed for some reason but whose?

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO- Someone tried to firebomb the Springs office of the NAACP yesterday. A pipebomb failed to ignite a can of gasoline left leaning behind the building located in Hillside, the city's traditionally African American community. The FBI claims to be interested in a white male with a beat up pickup truck. Across the state activists are alarmed at the subdued media response and lack of outrage. I'd like to explain why this bomb, a typical racist MO, has yet to resonate here. Colorado Springs is a cesspool of racism and institutionalized Jim Crow, but as usual the drama is complicated and local minority leaders are hesitant to point the finger. As befits the Springs' conservative nature, the local NAACP is headed by a card-carrying member of the TEA PARTY! You heard that right! For a decade this NAACP chapter has been estranged from its black community, mostly poor and neither elitist nor libertarian. Dr. James Tucker, publisher of the African American Voice, accuses this NAACP of complacency, malfeasance and worse. He claims they are under investigation so it's hard to predict whose interests might be served by torching the office. I'm certainly not suggesting that Colorado Springs bigots are not also too stupid to attack an ineffectual organization, but taking the high road means profiting from no accusation until the facts are in. Outsiders may want to protest, but locals also don't want to be mistaken for supporting this chapter, which has actively de-escalated calls for solidarity with Ferguson. Actually the national NAACP too deployed counter-insurgency tactics to calm the Ferguson rebellion. Whether yesterday's bombing was authentic or not, we don't need to get to the bottom of it before repudiating the usual pattern of racist acts of domestic terrorism against colored institutions. Of course we must also protest that the corporate media looks the other way. But let's not get distracted from figuring out that today's N.A.A.C.P. has no Association with the Advancement of Colored People unless they're bourgeois.

Michael Brown’s killers felt mocked by St Louis Rams “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot”

Maybe St. Louis police were offended by the NFL Rams' "HANDS UP, DON'T SHOOT" salute because police would never consider brutalizing wealthy black football players. I doubt it, but this could suggest that police abuse of power is about CLASS more than race. That St. Louis police feel it is their place to tell African American players how to act would confirm this is about RACE.   In other Ferguson news, African American church leaders tell Ferguson protesters to go to hell. While students and solidarity activists organize protests nationwide, spiritual "community leaders" have been gathering in churches in a coordinated effort to ease police-community relations. Some of these are even religious ceremonies which feature law enforcement commanders as honored guests. "Make Change Not Noise" read a local program. The fence-sitters are forgetting that President Obama already got the CHANGE thing covered.

White St Louis cop kills another black teen, for aiming a sandwich at him

With crowds still in the streets of Ferguson protesting the murder-by-cop of African American teen Michael Brown, another white officer in neighboring St. Louis has pumped another two digit number of bullets into another black teen. The off-duty policeman was attempting a "pedestrian check" --a term authorities are yet reluctant to explain-- when according to him the victim began firing. Insensed residents are again taking to the streets. No confirmation yet on whether video will emerge to prove witness accounts that the victim was holding a sandwich and not the 9mm which the police claim to have found. Community leaders urge calm but fortunately St. Louis locals are undeterred. In Denver, where commuynities of color are still reeling from a string of typical lynchings by police, religious keepers-of-peace are successful at diffusing the outrage. They admonish against misplaced anger, declare we've made ourselves heard, laud us for bringing attention to racism, and urge everyone to all go home. Here, have a sandwich.

One less racist misogynist philanderer, but Instagram popularity is off chart

"You can fuck Magic Johnson for all that I care, just don't put him on Instagram" billionaire Donald Sterling told his mistress in a now infamous recording in which he also explained he didn't want her bringing black people to his basketball games. The NBA responded by stripping the LA Clippers owner of his franchise because they won't abide blatant racism, as if the NBA performer audience color divide wasn't overt enough. Who could have envisioned a boyfriend being more jealous of Instagram than actual physical infidelity? KUDOS INSTAGRAM! And three cheers for billionaires so greedy that they can't abide a sex-worker mistress being compensated with a house and car. Sterling's wife sued the mistress to recover less than one percent of their tax-evading family trust, in spite of being forwarned that an incriminating tape would be leaked to the press. But I'm really curious about the friends Sterling said were complaining to him about the Instagram pic. Who sees someone posing with Magic Johnson and asks "why is your girlfriend standing next to a BLACK MAN?"

New Mexico State Police treat African American family just like down home

OUT OF CONTROL. New Mexico state police stopped a minivan for speeding and the African American mother at the wheel decided, correctly it turned out, that she and her five children risked who knows what on a rural backroad at the hands of white cops. Oriana Ferrell of Tennessee --perhaps of no small relevance-- tried to drive her family to safety after officers reacted violently when her 14-year-old son lunged to protect her from being tased. Officers fired at the minivan as Ferrell drove her children to a public location in Taos where there would be witnesses to the inevitable police assault. Ferrell and her son are charged with felonies. Hopefully the officers who fired tasers and guns into the vehicle full of children have friends who are just insufficiently racist to tell them not to brag about it.
