More surgery

Well, I found out this morning that the small lump protruding from my outside right heel is in fact a screw which was used to hold the titanium shank in place while the bone calcifies around it. It seems to have unscrewed a little, so they have me scheduled for surgery next tuesday to repair it.

Doctor says “Diagnosis: you have a screw loose.”

Tres amusant.

at least it wasn’t as bad as my febrile imagination might have otherwise made it.

Jonah. I’m internet old school I guess. I found great beauty in chat rooms for the power of direct exchange, but recall their failings as well. I’ve plondered into this web blog still wondering if its intent is free political speech or art zone combined with politics.

I finally made it over to the Not My Tribe About Us section and started reading the mini-bios. No help to this question. I decided I’d rather not ask it.

Wonder how I’d post my own bio. I have a lot of artistic glee in being a numeric but am not well versed in math. It’s a problem for the calculators I insist!

So until I figure out whether a picture humanizes or creates bias, I guess I’m stuck with the words. My neon heart against the gray matter.

I can’t plug/unplug this net jukebox thing without it seeming dubious or trite. Graphics enthrall me. Words are a strain.

So I have yet to post a numeric bio, nor figured one. (self-laugher while the language ennumerates more pundit pungence!)

Behind the shadow and light of writing, and what I’m trying to say falls out of blog land… (tres amusant? mais oui!)

Jonah, I hope all goes well with upcoming surgery. And likewise, may your total recovery be forever debated in good company.

Well, it is about my continuing story of how i fell of a roof in texas because the pendejo i was working was such a cheap fuck that he took the ladder to another jobsite. Had us walking up and down a conveyor belt to get on and off the roof.

I busted three bones in my right foot , right at the superjoint that gives all the motions you take in a normal stride. I also had a descending fracture of the left tibial plateau.

They rigged in some metal to hold it together until it healed and said that it would be taken out in 2 years. That was over 14 years ago.

They took out the metal last July. But between October 1992 and July the only treatement I had gotten for the injury was one shot of Cortisone in the foot joint. 5 years ago.

you see, texas is a third world country when it comes to workers rights and health care for the indigent. Even the indigent who are broke and helpless because they got injured on the job.

In the 14 years the bone in the superjoint (specifically the talus) necrosed. Meaning it was dead inside my foot and ankle. So December 1st they put a titanium shank through the heel to halfway up the shin bone.

Which is now requiring a little adjustment.

But at least they’re finally doing something about it. at least until the Commander in Chimp drains the budget so dry that medicaid will no longer be an option.
