ADDENDUM: Who can know the minds of the WTC victims who chose to jump into the void of city sky out their windows, sooner than being engulfed in flames. With no aerial help on its way, did they hope that rescuers might be hustling up a means to catch those who jumped?

Are people who Google “9/11 jumpers” just voyeurs? Why is there so little information available about one of the most terrifying aspects of 9/11? The mainstream press made the “jumpers” appear like some type of crazy sideshow. In reality, about 1 in 5 to 1 in 7 perished in this manner. Still, the city of NY refuses to acknowledge that they “jumped” — rather, they use the term “forced out” or “blown out”. Because mainstream media outlets censored the images of the jumpers, they cropped up via other less savory internet sources. Regardless of the source, the images are valid testaments to what happened on 9/11 — to those people, to their courage and elegance amidst chaos. Should we really want to avert our eyes? Looking away is not an option, at least not for me anyway.

How would you feel if you were part of the family of any of those victims who though there was no hope for their own survival? Insane people aren’t always safe with others around them. But there are some cases where insane people are actually right about what they think is right or wrong.
