The weirdo was Janis Heuberger who’s made it a personal crusade to cleanse Colorado Springs of its homeless. Though she interrupted the rally pretending she was an active advocate for the homeless, in reality she’s led the attack against them, online (writing at GT as “funinsnow” )and in city council. Janis, aka disbarred realtor Janice Heuberger-Hilt, filed a complaint with the EPA in her personal effort to clear out the camps.
Like, one of those who have Libertarian fought against the EPA, tooth and nail, over stuff like, you know, the bad ol’ Nanny State Socialists insisting on not allowing them to alter water channels, force them to pay their share for filtering the polluted water that flows from their Subsidized (by that bad ol’ Welfare State through property and income tax breaks) Developments, flows into the streams and rivers that water the entire western two thirds of the Nation?
My my. The Hypocrites sent one of their loose cannons in to this battle.

This protest is validated for me that you, Rita Ague, and Ed Billings are Activist News Junkie. I don’t mind at all – Just stick to subjects that you are involved in with the community and have a working knowledge of.

If I misread your real estate broker scandal I’m sorry, but I have read up on your opinions online and based on how you misrepresented yourself at City Hall, I find you to be a vile character. Until you learn some manners, and morality, I do not encourage you to “participate” in community ventures.

Also it was confirmed today by the Head of Security at the Marian House, that they escorted Rita Ague off the premises the morning of the “Peace Rally” because she was passing out flyers and trying to recruit the Homeless while they waited in line to eat to hold signs.
Honestly – This was low – The folks standing behind me on Friday were the homeless that I have befriended that will confirm this to the Press.
That flier was circulated for two weeks, was that the first you saw it?
Yes, Rita was kicked out on Friday for her efforts to organize participants. We’ll assure reporters they can reach you to corroborate that shameful story.

I’ve been homeless, not proud but God-Damn if I’ll be ashamed of it. I know the type of “respect” the so-called “good People” have for homeless PEOPLE or anybody else who’s not as wealthy as they are.
The “Good People” of this town tell their Piglets that Homeless PEOPLE are bums, Hoboes, either Lazy or Crazy or Hazy from Drugs and therefore not worthy of any kind of human rights or dignities.
If you say otherwise I’ll personally call you a liar.
The “Good People” encourage such a culture of Hatred against the poor that their kids will go and burn or otherwise trash out somebody’s camp. They’ve even gone so far as beating a homeless PERSON to death with a baseball bat.
This isn’t the first community that’s provoked such violent acts against the poorest, there have been similar instances wherever the Prince Siddhartha types who don’t want to actually SEE the poverty caused by their system become so angry that they’ll take it out on the most helpless victims.
The planned Police Action is just another example of that, only this time the Violent Assault will be done by organized squads of Uniformed Thugs.
Which has also happened before.

A big thank you to all the community members who wrote to the City Council in support of the ordinance which passed 8 to 1 vote in favor of “No Camping”.
1249 total homeless (300+ in tent camps)
412,000 Colorado Springs community members.
Less than 1/2 percent of the population living in tent camps in the creek beds, which are in a 100 year flood plain.
Residents of the tent camps are in clear violation of the Clean Water Act – Federal EPA.
Just FYI – In my 51 years on this earth, I have never attended a Rally. When I was alerted in the early am of that day. I did my research before hand and got this information right from your sight

Blockading
Grounding, Protecting and Blockading
Centering:
When you are centered, you are calm, stable, present in the moment, and hard to push off balance physically or emotionally. You can also have a calming effect on those around you. In order to center yourself, focus on your center of gravity. It’s just below your navel, deep inside your body. Focus here when you feel upset or under pressure in order to ground yourself and reconnect with your power within.
Focus on attack:
You can make a violent attack very visible by getting everyone in the vicinity to sit down so the attacker is suddenly visible to all and to the media.
Puppy pile:
To protect someone being attacked on the ground. One person kneels and forms a bridge with their body over the victim; others then pile onto the bridge. Don’t squash the person attacked!
Protection:
Step in between perpetrator and demonstrator. Keep your palms open and visible, try not to touch the attacker, or at very least, do not hold onto him or her. Just inter-positioning yourself can often be enough to stop an attack. Talk reassuringly to the attacker.
Form a U:
Surround and move perpetrator away: With several people, step between the attacker and the demonstrator, form a U shape around the perpetrator, and move him or her away. Don’t completely surround the attacker; make sure to leave him or her an ‘out’. Talk with the attacker reassuringly as you do this.
Form an O:
Surround and absorb demonstrator: Totally surround a demonstrator who’s being attacked and absorb him or her back into the crowd.
Blocking:
Form a line between opposing factions. Knees relaxed and not locked, stand shoulder-width apart. Be aware of how strong a line you need to make and the different impacts of different stances, eg.: standing separately > holding hands > linking elbows > linking wrists.
Staying put:
For holding your ground in a blockade. Center yourself, send your roots down deep into the earth, feel yourself relaxed and heavy.
Sitting in a row:
Place larger people to the ends.
Sitting in a circle:
Cross your hands between your legs and hold each others’ wrists with a strong grip. In this formation, you can see each other and give emotional support. Make sure to warn each other about what’s happening behind, where the other side of the cannot see.
Sitting in a column:
Wrap your legs round the person in front, lean forward, put your hands around the chest of the person in front of you, and keep your head down.
Self-defense posture:
First lace your hands together at the base of your skull, with your elbows together protecting your temples. Curl up in a foetal position on the ground, lying on your right side to protect your liver. Most main organs and head are thus protected, although your kidneys are still vulnerable.

The year I was homeless, that was my most reliable source of real news in town, God knows the Gazette and local Klan “news” propaganda-casts weren’t much help.
Really, though, this playing the victim role that your sock-puppet did for 15 of the thirty posts made on the subject of this thread and “Jesus Springs Rejects Christ”. That’s kind of shorter than the actual title, but to my mind a lot more accurate…. well, it’s kind of stale.
But, you know, somebody feeling “victimized” because people point out that you didn’t earn or create the land you sell, therefore, you didn’t earn the money that keeps you personally in a nice house, a house that the CSPD isn’t going to trash, throw you out of, and then destroy what possessions you can’t scurry away with them on your back… That’s kind of Whiny and dare I say it (why, yes, I do Dare say it) Bitchy.

Those homeless people have been involved in the multiple non-profit meetings, homeless camping meeting and even city council meetings speaking for themselves.

FYI, the rally was my idea origionally if you must know Janis, and the whole point was to relay the message that the homeless shouldn’t be treated as criminals. Not once have I said anything against shelters or other such services. The whoe point behind proposing that ordinance was because it didn’t look good. I ride the bus to work every day and I tlk to homeless people too every homeless person I have talked too wants to work. I wanted to work when I was homeless, and I did which was no picnic. When I finally left the sreets I vowed never to forget I was there, I don’t think I could forget that even if I wanted to. You say that I am ineffective, all I can say is say what you want you have the right to say that and call me a name or two, you can even heckle me if I do protest again, you wouldn’t be the first or the last to do that.
The problem with our city council is that ifyou are either a homeless prson, or a blue collar worker the city council won’t have anything to do with you I know this from experience.
But when a white collar person like yourself raises hell about what doesn’t look good they are your best friend.
Looking for ways to help the homeless is good, just don’t treat them like 2nd class, homeless people are veterans, others are people who lost their jobs and homes.
I told City Council that homelessness & unemployment would increase if Evening and weekend public transportation were eliminated and gee whiz I was right. Mayor Rivera only wants people who work 9 to 5 monday through friday to live in this city, he has proven that time and time again. Whenever your average blue collar joe blow like my self says something we are automatically wrong but the white collar always prevails.
Ed – I have rode bus everyday as well for 10 weeks while understanding this issue. As well I have walked the tent camps, ate at the Marian House, hung out at the library, watched a homeless guy get beat up, picked up trash in the tent camps, been to endless countless meetings with agencies, concerned business people, concerned community members, city council meetings. Know about the bat gangs,
crimes in the tent camps, the long dedicated hours of the CSPD Homeless Outreach Team, the 222 calls in 6 months with CSFD. Health issues, VA issues, ID issues.
Took a couple of friends to Springs Rescue Mission to transition them from the tent camps to Shelter.
Non-Profits are supported by Federal and State dollars as well as private donations.
You are protesting against the wrong governmental group!
We need the entire community’s support in ending homelessness in Colorado Springs.
That includes you – Eric – Rita – Sabrina – Brother Jonah – College Students/

Yeah, right. Here’s an Idea I’ve been floating around the People.
You know, the ones you want to dispossess, violently? Yeah, THOSE people. One is for the city to re-open the restrooms at Dorchester (sp?) Acacia and America the “beautiful” Parks.
Another is for the city to provide one Dempsy Dumpster for the use of Tent City.
Another is for the Tent City Homeowners (because they own their tents, legally recognized by Supreme Court rulings as “homes”) to form a Homeowners Association for self governance, thereby taking away any excuse you might have dreamed up for sicking the Pigs on them.
Then a class action lawsuit against you and City Council for harrassment and terroristic threats. You did, in fact, threaten them with acts of physical violence including the invasion of their homes in order to seize their property with no compensation , and the extremely violent act of arresting them.
That’s really peaceful and loving, but, hey, who am I to criticize hypocrisy.
I figure, whooping out my ol’ Mental Calculator, that the cost of keeping the restrooms open, providing a dumpster and perhaps a Porta-potty, number one would be a lot less expensive than the Violent Acts proposed against the People of Tent City.
And it would address the issues you CLAIM about sewage and trash removal.
I used to do trash removal along the highways in Texas, working for Goodwill. The trash that the “Good People” toss out the windows of their Single Occupant Vehicles all day every day.
I saw the invoices from TxDOT about how much Goodwill was charging for removing the Rich Folks Trash, more 8 digit numbers than Bill Gates’ payroll. (Hyperbole for the sake of humor, however, it did come to more than a billion a year for Tarrant, Dallas, Parker and Johnson Counties)
I’ll further Ass U and Me that the state of Colorado, having an equivalent proportion of Trash driving SUVs, and throwing out trash from their windows (Litter bags? We don’ need no Steekeeng Litter Bags, we got the entire roadside for that)
Not to mention the ongoing for at least a decade overwhelmed sewer system here in the Springs spewing more multiples of the amout of Raw Sewage into the watershed than the Tent City could ever possibly match.
Yet you’re not proposing dispossessing the Rich for THEIR extremely polluting and trashy ways.
Just the poorest of the poor. Remember what Jesus said?
“If ye do thus to the least of My brethren you do it unto me”
I guess the Poor are an easier target. The parking lots at Motor City put more toxins into the watershed than the Tent City could ever generate, and that’s just one example.
You’re not proposing evicting them either. I don’t know, maybe it’s the Heuberger name, that makes me suspect that hits closer to your home than you’d care to admit, or to have other people consider.

Of course, I’ll not propose that I’m better than Christ.
But you’re treading on dangerous grounds there, lady.
When you start off the debate by passing an ordinance that gives the known Sadists in the Police Establishment the “right” to assault even more people and on even flimsier charges than they could get away with previously, it makes your whole argument about how much you “love” these people stink.
Like last month’s shrimp cocktails on a warm summer day.
It makes me think that you’re Lying. That you have the backing of all but one of the professional Thieves and Liars on City Council speaks pretty loudly too.
Yet I’m to trust your motives or stop telling others to distrust your motives? I think that I shan’t be doing that.

The Homeless PEOPLE in what’s Their Town Too, unless you get away with taking away all rights and privileges of Citizenship just because they don’t have as much money as you do… are being made the goat in the ongoing Theft perpetrated by City Hall.
It has the Stench of Lionel Rivera and the rest of the so-called “liberty” party feeling the nooses tightening around their own necks and throwing the Tent City to the increasingly vocal critics of their mis-Administration.
“well, sure, we robbed the city blind and then stole the seeing eye dog, but wait, look, over there! Homeless People! They must be the ones to blame!”
