Well, engaging the Israeli Internet Megaphone was an interesting experiment, although the popular consensus interjected the qualifier “hardly.” Now smeared across the NMT comment record is the indelible impression of what an industrial strength, defense department white-wash program can do to an open blog forum. It’s particularly distinct at NMT because we don’t have the red-neck yahoos which usually camouflage the disinformation agents. Well, we’ve documented the propaganda mechanism, it’s provided the scat samples, now it’s time to close the study.
Much as we’re plenty eager to take on the front line soldiers working PR combat, we must also realize our limitations. Their eloquence may be invitingly mud-hued, but they’ve got a machine gun to our dueling sword.
In every war, of chief concern to aggressors is the strategy to dominate what’s being said about them, from propaganda leaflets to postal censors to intelligence departments directing the press. It should be no surprise that the blogosphere would be of intense interest to them. It’s become cliche to say it, but in war “the first casualty is the truth.” Whereas journalism is always misperceived as representing the truth, blogs are truth’s living, breathing aspirants. Up against mercenary contractor liars, truth-adherents will asphyxiate.
Here’s what we’re going to do. When we detect comment coming from a documented military intelligence source, it’s gone. Well, replaced with a link to this post. That way Not My Tribe can still bear witness to the frequency of the onslaught. And if we’re then hit with denial-of-service attacks, we’ll serve as a record of those too. Freedom of speech on the internet is not going down without a fight.
And so we bid the truth-assassins adieu, and thanks for the fish. You’ve helped us demonstrate how it’s done, who’s doing it, and to what lethal extreme. Israel is not the only military maneuvering online. China and the US have legions working sabotage and censorship. NMT represents only the blogosphere arena, and only an English-language sampling. No doubt whichever governments commit atrocities, they have military advisers tell them the job isn’t done until public discussion is controlled.
But you’ve given us a ray of hope too. No matter what the budget, I don’t care if you’re paid $1000/hr, your voice will never resonate above the intellect of a dullard. As universities know, brains don’t come cheap, and the best are free. Thank goodness. Your voice may be loud and brash, but nothing which will get traction with thinking folk.
We do not really mind the Israeli spam machine’s presence if it were simply to limit its number of posts it makes daily and make them without pasted in written- before- hand materials glued to the usual sentence or two of personal insults added on. However, it is hardly fair for a Jewish State software program, that can deliver an overwhelming number of posts to a blog, to just be left free to flood the site with their vetted and offensive materials unhindered in any way. We simply do not have the time to reply to each post that this spamware unit can deliver online to this blog.
What has been most offensive is the continued denial of these posters that they are in fact part of a coordinated campaign when we simply can see quite well that they are, in fact, just that. We do not have to even allow any of this software output of this program to swarm onto the site, but we actually do try to be fair and allow the unknowing observer of these political spam assaults time to learn from the experience of reading this material and seeing over a period of time the coordination of the propaganda assault simply, so they can understand for themselves what is actually being attempted by this software driven propaganda machine?
In our opinion, the purpose is simply to choke off all and any discussion about Israel’s militarism and ethnic cleansing using computer software to do that with. That simply will not be allowed here on this blog, and denial by the users of this machine about what is in fact being attempted by them will not persuade us at all at this point. Attempts to call us nuts or to tell us that this is not a coordinated effort will simply be removed offline. We will not go over these points endlessly from now on and forever with them.

It was rather amusing to hear Jonah talking “property rights” in this blog, after the exchange I had several months ago with Eric and Tony, wherein I described the scenario of the wealth of Eric’s Bookman store being “redistributed” to his new competitors, Carlos and Lee Roi. Eric, you appeared to have no problems with helping these minority business owners, even unto sharing the use of the company truck. But Jonah is eminently correct that the owner of this blog has every right to limit the views expressed therein (the right of free speech doesn’t mean that you have to provide a forum for dissenting views…let ’em start their own blog!). (But query: if the funding for this blog actually comes from Marie’s ex-husband, the good doctor, via his alimony and child support payments for those six kids, shouldn’t he have a say also?)
I have been conspicuously absent from this whole Israeli/Arab discussion, and with good reason: I couldn’t care less what happens in the Middle East. It was a damn fool idea to put Israel there in 1948, right in the midst of their ancestral enemies, when it would have been just as easy to create the new Israel in Utah (lots of sand, the Great
Salt Lake being just like the Dead Sea, and those Mormons are one of the Lost Tribes anyway).
The only possible outcome in the Middle East will be when one of those crazy Arab states launches a nuke against Israel, Israel launches ten or twenty back, and all that sand is turned into a sea of glass, inaccessible for the next 2000 years (or at least until Elon Musk, boy-genius founder of PayPal, Tesla Motors, and now SpaceX, figures out a safe way to get to the oil).
The basic problem, that can never be solved via posts on the internet, is that both the Arabs and the Israelis base their decisions and values on the “Will of God”. You can get away with any atrocity, any violation of someone else’s rights, if Yahweh or Alllah is telling you to do it. Reason and logic are the only guides to survival and peaceful co-existence, and the separation of church and state is vital. But we know that can never happen in the Middle East.

As to what we’ll do to the Internet Megaphone crowd? I wouldn’t call that censorship exactly. The Internet Megaphone is designed to drive an excessive number of posts onto blogs that they decide beforehand that hate their Jewish State racialism. It is the sheer flood of them that was the problem and not really so much the tripe that was contained in each post of theirs.
If we wrote 5 replies, they bombarded us with 10 posts… if we wrote ten replies, they bombarded us with 20…. and so on. We were responding to a machine driven (by software) program that was spamming us an excessive flood of posts pushing Israeli military propaganda.

As noted in my response that was not posted by NMT, freedom of speech applies to the public sphere, only. NMT is a private website hence it can limit discussion, as it has done so in becoming a moderated site that suppresses dissenting viewpoints.

Sorry. We already saw the text paste-ons used in so many of the supposedly individualized posts that spammed into our site. They were used to try to make yourselves look much more accomplished than you really are. Plus, we know that you are an interconnected system of some sort, that can turn on the volume of posts, or turn it down to low, as deemed needed by some sort of coordinator.
Don, we don’t intend to discuss the system much with you though, or debate whether it is a system or not. We already know that it is and that point is settled with us. NMT has been forced to use a form of semi moderation with your software group. We simply don’t want to eliminate discussion with Zionists entirely but just to moderate the amount of flow for ourselves, rather than have you flood the site at will with IDF spam propaganda cloaking itself as being expression of Free Speech.

Don, the source for virtually ALL of the comments in question was one computer.
Meaning, since it’s impossible for all 25 or so being on the same computer at the same time, they were sharing a gateway.
It was automated.
This wasn’t the only site to which that particular IP address was posting.
How fast do YOU type? I do 60wpm fairly accurately with lots of practice and a really good keyboard layout (dvorak)…

The whois database identifies your IP as being on a U.S. military installation.
That makes a significant difference.
