The US drug war is tearing Latin America apart and nowhere more so than in Mexico. The US government struts around the Americas ordering others to do their dirty work, fomenting civil strife and regional separation (Bolivia), and implementing coups without any regard to the disasters they make for others.

Mexico needs to run as far as it can from this US Drug War, rather than get suckered in by US funding for its police and military units. That is a recipe for certain disaster, and that disaster is already well under way.
