In defense of China against US imperialism today

China and Russia might have both been turned backwards towards capitalism by their own 'communist parties', but that is no reason today to let them remain undefended while under constant threats of direct military attack by Western Imperialism led by the Pentagon and Nato. 38114

Agents of injustice

"Law never made men a whit more just; and, by means of their respect for it, even the well-disposed are daily made the agents of injustice. A common and natural result of an undue respect for law is, that you may see a file of soldiers, colonel, captain, corporal, privates, powder-monkeys, and all, marching in admirable order over hill and dale to the wars, against their wills, ay, against their common sense and consciences, which makes it very steep marching indeed, and produces a palpitation of the heart. They have no doubt that it is a damnable business in which they are concerned; they are all peaceably inclined. Now, what are they? Men at all? or small movable forts and magazines, at the service of some unscrupulous man in power? 7927

Honor heroes not war criminals

A special Memorial Day banner for those who would confuse supporting our troops for a blank check endorsement of militarism. Remember the dead and veterans of 1812. No subsequent war has been about protecting American freedoms, but rather to increase our imperial business interests overseas. Declare another holiday if you must for the blimp-necked brutes who supply the muscle for US belligerency.

Darfur, the Israeli lobby & US Democrats

What does it mean for Africa when right wing end-of-the- world-is-near evangelical Christians join forces with the Robert F. Kennedy Center For Human Rights? What does it mean for African Americans when Bush, Obama, and nearly all last year's presidential candidates from both parties encourage the continuation of an African civil war rather than a political settlement between the parties? What does it mean when 21st century PR firms employ FaceBook, slick viral marketing and millions of dollars to create a simple, satisfying, feel-good excuse for military intervention on the African continent? --from Is There a Save Darfur Industrial Complex? 7729

American arrogance

Protests as US warship docks in Nagasaki What incredible arrogance and bad taste! This is your military and government, Americans! Look in the mirror and weep!

When you don’t pay ‘war taxes,’ is it ‘peaceful nonviolence’ or more like smug self-righteous religious complacency?

Monday night I got asked out of the clear blue sky at a meeting of self described 'Peace' advocates if I paid taxes? I was kind of drowsy from shift work I had just finished doing, and didn't really consider the fact that Jesus was asked just about the same question in his time, but by those he considered to be spies of the Roman Empire. I was being asked the question though from a self righteous and complacent 'Quaker' woman who was in the process of giving me her idea of a litmus test, for whether I would be allowed by her and her husband to be in one local antiwar grouplet here in Colorado Springs called the PPJPC? 6179

US will use Mumbai events to increase its wars in Pakistan and Afghanistan

The evidence is already in that the US government will use the Mumbai events as justification for pushing more of its war machine further into Afghanistan and Pakistan. To do so is crucial in in its geopolitical battle plans against Russia and China, and a Barack Obama directed Pentagon battle plan is already made up to do just that. 5674

Kashmir, Israel, India, LeT, and the Mumbai events

Many Indian government figures are beginning to point the blame towards an organization called LeT, or Lashkar-e-Taiba, as being behind the attacks on targets inside Mumbai, India. LeT is an organization of resistance to Indian control over a major portion of Kashmir, where the India government has terrorized the people there for decades now, in one of the longest, bloodiest and nastiest conflicts worldwide, if not the very worst of them. 5644

The United Nations pushes war and starvation onto the peoples of Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Congo, and Haiti

Aid workers: Hungry kids dying in Haiti- At least 26 malnourished children have perished; scores others treated You saw that picture of the starving young girl in Haiti in the US media last week as they reported the rise of starvation inside Haiti post this year's hurricane season. They didn't mention though that the United Nations is overseeing this starvation on behalf of the United States government. 5613

Innocent Voices

There have been many effective antiwar movies made through the years, but the most moving antiwar movie about the US wars in Central America that our population funded back in the late '70s and '80s is a movie called Innocent Voices. It came out in 2005 and got little notice inside the US although it deserved to win the Academy Award for the best foreign film of that year. However with Bush firmly in power and the US government committing atrocities in Afghanistan and Iraq as elsewhere and as before, the film got downplayed here at home. 5551

Tibetans forced to pass Monarchy to son of old King

'In a massive, whitewashed fort-cum-monastery, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel had the crown, mounted with a raven and adorned with skulls, placed on his head by his retiring father.' Coronation in the Dragon Kingdom Yes, those Buddhists sure have grand respect for the dignity of human life (an ALL life, it is said by many), do they not? Nothing else quite like using human skulls in your political ceremonies! 5478

Lazy thinking Americans want safe ‘change’ and they will only get Obama

Wow! 175,000 show up on one day in Missouri at Democratic Party rallies to help elect political hack, Barack Obama. They are looking for CHANGE, capital letters. Sadly to say they will only get Barack Obama into office, and that is no change anybody can really believe in at all. Except for lazy thinking Americans who want change that is actually more of the same thing... IMPERIALISM. 5177

Rwanda and Congo on the verge of war

The US supported government of Rwanda is tearing down the less than 'peace' in Congo and open hostilities are on the near horizon between the two countries once again. The US, British, and French governments have nothing good to offer up to Africans anywhere on the continent and should just get out of African affairs altogether. That especially goes in regard to the US AFRICOM, the Pentagon's African warfare command center. Here is the latest... 5060

Bolivian president talks about US subversion in his country

The Bush Administration and US government are promoting a terrorist campaign against supporters of the Bolivian president, Evo Morales. In fact, the US government is promoting and fomenting Civil War there, as it backs Rightist elements that have engaged in racist witch hunts against the indigenous community, whom in their great majority are backers of the 'Change' that their current president is trying to bring about. You tube has an interview with Morales just recorded this week. Check it out.

The Demon of Iran talks to Larry King

After all the US government propaganda about The Demon of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, it appears that this gentleman is much less a clutz and monster than all those lined up against the guy. That was the case in both his United Nations speech and on his appearance on the Larry King show shown in 6 parts on youtube.com- See for yourself. 4883

South America unites in rejecting US subversion on continent

Much of Latin America has watched on in disgust as the US government has fomented regional strife, civil war, and racist pogroms against the indigenous community in Bolivia that has claimed at least 30 lives so far. Reuters reports though that South American leaders back Bolivia's Morales and not Washington DC in this battle. 4788

US drug war export to Mexico is tearing the country apart

The US drug war is tearing Latin America apart and nowhere more so than in Mexico. The US government struts around the Americas ordering others to do their dirty work, fomenting civil strife and regional separation (Bolivia), and implementing coups without any regard to the disasters they make for others. 4755

US imperialism in check with Detente

First there's Georgia, where Russia pushes back US efforts to muscle further NATO expansion. Then in our own hemisphere, Bolivia and Venezuela expel their US ambassadors, as Russian long range bombers land in South America in advance of joint naval maneuvers in the Caribbean. It's not a resumption of the Cold War with the USSR, Russia is advancing no Communist Iron Curtain. But could a rival super power, in league with the unaligned nations, be a challenge to US hegemony? We could hope so.

The Pentagon creates the ultimate terror in Pakistan

Now that the US neocons have lost their favorite dictator stooge, Pakistan's Pervez Musharraf, they are left with a troupe of rotating circus clowns to work with. It's like the Bush Administration looked around and asked itself, 'How can we create more terrorists to fight?' They came up with the thought that it would really work to destabilize Pakistan as much as possible, and this they are now on a quest to accomplish. 4630

Human Rights Watch lied to world press about who dropped cluster bombs where?

Shame on you, Human Rights Watch! You lied didn't you? You lied to help whip up international support for the US attack on South Ossetia that their Georgian government stooges carried out. At a key moment you spread lies that Russia had dropped cluster bombs on Georgia throughout the world press and now you've been caught at it! Human Rights Watch says Georgia admits to dropping cluster bombs in S. Ossetia This news comes from the Associated Press. 4590
