Shock and Awe, Oderint Dum Metuant and the term 1%

It finally occurred to me why I had so much difficulty with the term "1%" as applied to Banksters. It's a biker term. Someone in the late 50s, a motorcycle enthusiast magazine, had said "99 percent of all motorcycle riders are decent, honest law abiding citizens" (very true) and it was a response to a growing distrust of motorcyclists by the general public. Probably fed to the public by propaganda because the Wall Street types would make more money selling people cars than bikes. So a lot of the Sonny Barger types (he was president of the Hells Angels) took to tattooing "1%" on their forearms where it would be really prominent. Some undoubtedly were and are Billy. You know Billy, right? Billy the Badass? Some had never met Billy and others had met Billy and got their lunch money taken and sent home crying. Menacing glares and display of anger can be faked and your average citizen wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Me, I ride because I enjoy it, and to get from one place to another in a reasonable amount of time. Never gave a crap about the Leader of the Pack attitude. Although I heard one joke about that, "Any biker who hangs out at candy stores picking up schoolgirls must ride a Honda" which is really unfair to Hondas. But riding a bike is like flying, on the ground. Also gas-saving. I can see where making people afraid of you would be entertaining to a point. The point being that people who are afraid don't enjoy the feeling of fear and take steps to remedy it. Liking shooting your ass right off the top of your legs. That's not fun. Then I thought about the Junior Police Explorer argument we've been having with people who are obviously minions of the 1%. The whole "Shock and Awe" and "Oderint dum Metuant" part are actually slogans or mottos of the people who CLAIM to be against terrorism and are, also, minions of the 1%. Oderint dum Metuant means "Let them hate us, as long as they fear us". Wall Street is perfectly happy with Terrorism as wielded by various Imperial Military groups. They're OK with people capitulating out of fear because it means less money in the short run than actually killing everybody and taking the riches off their dead bodies. Like Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. But then, some people get a little tired of living in fear-based subservience and rebel. Like the Saudi group al Qa'eida. That's when things start getting interesting. Somebody using a weapon and threat of death to rob another, the way the U.S. Military does to every-damn-body in the entire damn world.... runs the risk of having to carry out those threats (which obviously doesn't bother them) or... Get shot at themselves, which DOES bother them. The Oderint Dum Metuant is supposed to only work unilaterally. The Police State want to make it unilateral. "keeping" it unilateral isn't possible because it's never actually been one way. Then I

PA Homeland Security Chief: Burning Hate Flag = Terrorism

That's right, folks, according to the PA Homeland Security Privatized Terror Alert System, National Burn The Confederate Flag Day, a protest against the TeaTard Racist "patriot" party, is an act of Terrorism. Meanwhile the TeaTards inciting Mosque Burning, Scripture Burning, Assaults and even Murders on behalf of their Racial Purist Agenda, doesn't raise a red "flag" with the Private Pig Group. Public Rallies, Town Hall Meetings where environmentalists were expected to testify against new coal, oil and gas leases polluting their land and water and putting their lives at risk for Corporate Profit, also considered "Terror Threats". But not the TeaTard rallies. Or the equally Racist Minutemen Rallies like the one where both the "rebel" flag and the Nazi Flag are shown. Yep, you can spout Anti-American Terrorist Rhetoric, denounce your fellow Americans as not deserving of any equal rights because you don't consider them Americans, advocate and champion acts of violence against Americans, but you'd better not talk back to the TeaTards, the Minute"men" or their Corporate Masters. Alle Sieg Heil am der Korporatisch-Überfuhrer! In case the usual whiners think I'm being too harsh in my opinion on Sarah Palin, the MinuteKlan and the Ku Klux Klan Tea Party so-called "patriots"... People who say, as they HAVE, loudly and continually since their Hate Agenda was voted down two years ago, and before that even, that I don't have any rights as an American or even as a Human Being, because of my "racial" background and disabilities and economic status, can kiss my broken feet, broken courtesy of their Reaganite "free" market policies and by constant denial of health care for 14 YEARS afterward. There's no amount of LYING about them being just "conservatives concerned about excess taxation" that will make me believe in their supposedly benign nature, EVER. Once you've been told that you don't even deserve to LIVE you realize that the PUKES don't actually like you or respect you, so, Why Should I Like Or Respect The Hate-Mongering Murdering Bitches?

Obama breaks truth to widows: Miners died as Corporate Slaves, get used to it

Not really. He said they died in pursuit of a better life. But since the Coal Companies and other Corporate owners of West Virginia aren't going to actually invest anything in developing some other way for the people who live there to survive, and the people have not nearly enough opportunity to build their own enterprises, it IS a cycle of corporate slavery. The Horatio Alger and Ragged Dick rags-to-riches stories were Bullshit when they were first published, and still are today. The Mine Workers union song popularized by "Tennessee" Ernie Ford, 16 Tons, says it more realistically. "you load 16 tons what do ya get? Another day older and deeper in debt St Peter don'cha call me cause I can't go I owe my soul to the Company Store." The same people who lobby hard against Unions and fair wages, lobby for "Tort Reform" meaning a Landlord's Lien not only on your possessions, should you default on your lease, but a period of bond-service, debt slavery, should you default. The Mining corporations, in particular, used this as a way of keeping the workers docile. The Company Store, just that, the only way you could get groceries or clothing or any other necessities of life was to purchase them from a commissary owned by the Company. Your lodgings were also owned by the Company. A rigged system where you always owed the Boss for the privilege of working for him. Paid less than you're forced to spend to survive. Try to leave and you get a warrant for your arrest under the Fugitive Laws, have the equivalent of Dog the Bounty Hunter chasing you down, putting you into the County Prison to work out your debt. In a county that's owned by, you guessed it, your Loving Employer. America is sliding backward into that quagmire of Corporate Dictatorship. The saddest part, many of the miners and their families actually eat that crap up with a spoon, the Corporate Lies that they're working for a better future and for their freedom, and that of their children. It's a shameful thing for ONE political party to pay homage to that Blatant Lie. For ALL of the three largest political parties in America, Democratic, Republican, and Tea Parties, to pander to that meaningless CRAP is beyond shameful. Maybe he simply misspoke, and was off by one letter, they were working for a bItter life.

“Energy (oil) ministers say 23 Trillion in investment needed” according to AP

--to find new sources of Oil and natural gas, of course. Strangely, that's about what my estimate of the cost of the recent 8 years worth of Federal Giveaways to the Oil Corporations would total. So, do the Oil Corporations REALLY need Welfare from all the governments of the world? Where would that much-ballihooed "Free Market" supremacy account for such a huge bailout to what's supposedly the single most profitable industry of the past century? To be honest, I didn't read past that shocking headline. I just DON'T need to ruin my day reading veiled threats (almost typo-ed "vealed" as in Fatted Calf) from the richest people on the planet about what will happen if they're not given the rest of the Planetary Treasury, the fealty of every son of Adam and a lien on the souls and service of our children for generations to come.
