Colorados’s Libertarian tax evader crusader, Doug Bruce, heads off for jail

Denver American Civil Liberties Union lawyer failed to keep Libertarian tax cheat and slum lord, Doug Bruce, from deservedly heading into jail for 6 months for his tax evasion. Doug Bruce is the Libertarian big time ideologue now famous for authoring the TABOR Amendment legislation, which has helped demolish the quality of public education in this state among the many other negative consequences of this backward looking and reactionary bill.

So perhaps Doug Bruce will be now better able to campaign among fellow inmates for Libertarian Republican Ron Paul 2012 from his new home in the prison cell? And be sure to keep that toilet clean, Doug! It’s good manners, Prison Dude.

Thinking about Doug a bit more, a citizen should be able to see that electing fellow Libertarian Ron Paul president would be about as negative a thing a country could ever do. It would be like putting Doug Bruce into the governor’s seat instead of putting him in prison cell where he definitely does belong. Got to pay some taxes, Libertarians, because we need government but we need a better one than we got, or that you reactionaries would ever help arrange us to get.

Sorry, Bruce, but a government has the right to raise funds in order to implement social programs even if you Libertarians have trouble seeing it due to your excessive love of Big Business interests. Pay your taxes and stop whining, Bruce.

Ayn Rand SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let me first begin with how I was exposed to Ayn Rand. I am in high school and awhile back my teacher was doing a course on homelessness. In a ‘prompt’ that she gave me as to what are the causes of homelessness, I answered CAPITALISM. A week later I was astonished to get back my paper with a Zero. I showed this to many people all of whom agreed that it was in no way deserving of a zero. My dad and I took this question as to why I had gotten a zero on  my paper to the teacher. I wasn’t expecting much but even after one hour of asking my English teacher why I had gotten a zero on my paper she had no reasonable answer other than that I had not followed the ‘format’ correctly, even though I had a previous organizational sheet on which I based my writing on following her format. she ended by saying I was a horrible writer;  we gave up trying to get to through to such a numbskull.

I didn’t quite understand why she had given me a zero until a couple months later, and so began my experience with Ayn Rand. My teacher took us to get the book. As I read the summary I knew it would be some sort of method for her and d-11 to push their politics on students;  however I had no previous knowledge of who Ayn Rand was.  The next day in class she gave us a powerpoint on the background of Ayn Rand and what the book Anthem was about. It was filled with negative comments on communism including that communism supposedly takes away knowledge, individuality and free expression.   As I was assigned to read more and more of Ayn Rand I realized how horrible of a writer she was. I started to listen to Ayn Rand’s interviews. I then understood that  they were forcing me to read a writer who didn’t believe in helping anyone, because she was a racist, a nationalist and a pure evil witch. These interviews can be found on <youtube> and <bluecorncomics> among many other articles revealing Ayn Rand to be a racist.

The more and more I read into the book the more i was infuriated at the pure ridiculousness and hypocrisy of it.  In the ending chapters it is written by Ayn Rand that

“The word WE is the lime poured over me, which sets and hardens to stone, crushes all beneath it, and that which is white and that which is black are lost equally in the grey of it. It is the word by which the depraved steal the virtue of the good, by which the weak steal the might of the strong, by which the fools steal the wisdom of the sages. What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and the impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?”

As i read this I wasn’t sure whether to laugh, throw up, or rip the book apart . I was sickened by how when I had expressed my “free speech” I was given a ZERO; by how I had to read an author who believes being selfish is  a virtue. And by how every day, whenever I went to class instead of being taught English literature I got the teachers Right Wing, anti-communist politics thrown into my face. Each time a question on the book was asked I didn’t hear an opinion on whether the book was good or bad i only heard questions on how communism takes away individuality and how  Ayn Rand is right on what her idea of what communism is? I said the teacher was expressing personal opinion and the whole class started to yell at me to shut up. I got so alienated and depressed after they  said that communism makes robots, and brain dead people  even though I couldn’t find more brain dead robots as hard as I looked than the ones that were sitting right next to me.

I couldn’t take the class anymore as it was an insult to who I was, what I believed in, and all the people I respected were continually insulted and lied about. I started skipping the class after my dad not only talked at a school board meeting but also to my assistant principal, in both cases we were given the cold shoulder and treated horribly rude. I decided to go to the class again and deal with it. As I read the quote given above in that class and as I looked around i became terrified of being like them. I was torn between staying and swallowing my believes and to be JUST LIKE THOSE SHEEP or to get up and leave. The overwhelming fear of being lost into them made me get up and walk out of the class. Later that day the assistant principal took me out of a class and made me feel like an outsider, like a weird person that needed to be put in a psychiatric hospital. I complained that I was being pushed politics in a public school and his response was that no other students felt like I did. When I told him that the teacher had given me a zero and was now failing me out of the course, who had said I was a horrible writer; he said He didn’t believe me and that I was wrong. He told me that if I was to walk out again I would have to deal with the consequences even though he wouldn’t deal with a teacher pushing politics.   He smiled as I cried for being  looked at as being an idiot and a weirdo kid ; it took me about two hours to get with it. We continued to try to get me switched out of the class, which finally we did only to find that Ayn Rand was being taught in that course too and  in all English classes for that matter.

I realize I will probably never get them to change, to respect students, parents and INDIVIDUALITY. But this  continuing fight which is probably the hardest I’ve ever had to fight proved to me that I would stand up for myself against a herd of flesh eating zombies, that I would NEVER BE LIKE THEM . And I felt pride in knowing I stood up to being brainwashed by  anti communist right wingers.

Is Ron Paul really against supporting more US government war making?

Many desperate citizens have this round of corporate Presidential selectioning, taken to supporting Ron Paul and his Libertarian backed campaign in hopes of finding some avenue forward to changing the sorry state of current US politics. We think that a very mistaken idea, as Ron Paul in no way seems to be even slightly anti-Pentagon militarism, let alone an advocate for decent domestic policy changes. In fact, his domestic policy positions are truly horrifying, and advocate for doing away with public schools and social security and not the Police State, the prison camps, and excessive US BIG government military presence seen across the globe.

The following is some of what Ron Paul has himself posted on his own web site and it should give people hoping to change America for the better some very real reason to pause and think a wee bit more, before they find themselves rushing in madly with support for this Texas based Right Winger. Unfortunately, like the crazy drive to support Barack Obama 4 years ago, many lost American souls just seem simply to want to self delude themselves as much as they possibly can, while trying to find some politician saint or other to worship. Dead end city though! Ron Paul would be a total disaster for the US if he were to get selected. Please stop and think some, before you cast your vote for this guy!

From ronpaul.con

—Ronald Reagan: “Ron Paul is one of the outstanding leaders fighting for a stronger national defense. As a former Air Force officer, he knows well the needs of our armed forces, and he always puts them first. We need to keep him fighting for our country.”—

Pardon? Why would any real advocate of change away from the current American government’s war mongering be putting up an endorsement by now deceased, ex US President war monger Ronnie Raygun on his own website? Doesn’t that seem strange if you think this guy as being something of an anti US government war making guy? Let’s read still more from Ron Paul’s own web site…

—Ron Paul is a proud Air Force veteran. He served as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force from 1963 to 1965 and then in the U.S. Air National Guard from 1965 to 1968. During his military service Ron Paul spent time on the ground in Iran, Pakistan, South Korea, Turkey, Ethiopia and other countries. Ron Paul is very popular with the military. He receives more donations from active duty military personnel than all other Republican candidates combined.—

Well whoopee, Ron! Sounds like there is one big government program you are certainly behind, and that is the Pentagon’s. Did you enjoy your personal part in the US military occupations’ of other peoples countries? Seems as if you did… Ron Paul definitely wants us all to know that he is not against all that big government military funding that has helped drown us all in debt. Take note then.

Those who want yet some more thoughts about why Ron Paul might be quite a bit more a danger than any grand political inspiration, should read the excellent commentary published in this weekend edition of CounterPunch by Andrew Levine titled A Snare and a Delusion- Ron Paul’s Anti-Imperialism Levine correctly points out that the long term menace ahead even more than 76 year old Ron Paul himself, is his even nuttier son, Rand Paul, and the even nuttier US Libertarian Movement itself, pushing their Ayn Rand theology non stop on us as they try to convert whatever gullible nativist wanderer tehy can find. No thanks though.

Personally, I’d sooner convert to becoming a Mormon Christian any day long before I would go out and push and traffic in that obnoxious, self serving Libertarian ideology of the supposed virtue of promoting more world capitalism, while all the while also celebrating the personal selfishness of the US superrich, which is what American Libertarianism really does close to heart. No thanks, Ron. I don’t buy what you are trying to push off on us. You are not antiwar or much anti US militarism at all.. anyway. Nor would you ever help move us away from the destructive selfishness of American corporate driven society.

Don’t see any reason why anybody should be a hollerin’ for Ron this campaign, or at any time. Sure it’s a ‘protest’ against mainstream politicians, but sure as Hell it is really not.

Tea Partying with the Freak Brothers

Whew! These Occupy posts are far more difficult to pry from myself than their predecessors; the hands-on mechanics of putting the earlier stuff into practice in the present world, amongst the isolated pools of individuated consciousness we humans represent, each with his or her own vision of the whole, has been at the very least disorienting. I’ve lately revived an old motto i swiped from the good people at Oat Willie’s down in Austin, Texas: Onward Through the Fog! How odd is it that i’ve recently connected with some folks that hark back to that place in ways that are deeply surreal. Oat Willie’s and Fat Freddie will seem to be completely out of place in this bit, in which i mean to address the notion of cooperation amongst disparate factions, but not permanently i hope. By the end of this post, i hope to connect Occupy, The Tea Party, disparate passions, and yes, Hippies. It will be necessary to engage in some relatively surreal thinking.

Last night on a new Facebook page, “UNITE: OCCUPY,” (cap lock and all), i got into a conversation about this stuff started by a guy that asked whether anyone thought a joint event between Occupiers and Tea Partiers might be possible. Sure, i said, our Colorado Springs group had lots of Tea Partiers among its earliest enthusiasts, and although many have pulled away, there still exists a close association with many that veer sharply toward the Te Party camp, especially among Ron Paul supporters. The common ground Occupy shares with the Tea Party, at least t a grass root level, is substantial. There can be no doubt of the equally substantial differences. I suspect that it would take some pretty serious ideological barnstorming to bring the two camps together, but nothing prevents the groups from at least tentative discussion to find commonalities.

Tonight our Occupy group staged a talk by Tea Party stalwart, Constitutionalist Mike Holler. Mike seemed for all appearances to be an earnest and well-versed supporter of Constitutional “fundamentalism,” if you will. He peppered his talk with lots of my favorite quotes from my favorite founding fathers. He got a little testy about the revisionist history his kids bring home from college early on–perhaps indicative of one point of separation between Occupiers and Tea Partiers. Some of those are important. Occupy is international, where the Tea Party can display degrees of jingoism. I, personally, respect the earnest efforts of our Enlightenment founders, but recognize that they were flawed, and aver that their document was dated by racist, sexist, and elitist provisions and thinking that they might be excused from by noting their temporal milieu. We don’t have the same luxury. Occupy is legitimately grass root, supported by sweat and blood more than funded, where TP is, or at least became very quickly corporately funded “astroturf,” disingenuously proffering libertarian ideals as a smoke screen for corporate license to plunder. Occupiers are in my experience far more diverse than Tea Partiers. Socialist and Anarchist Occupiers are common, as are assorted races, genders, orientations, and religious persuasions, where Tea Partiers seem to my limited observation to be relatively homogeneously white Christian capitalist patriots. Mike interjected that both groups had been misrepresented by the media, and that seems likely to be so given that mainstream media seems content to misrepresent ’bout anything they report in this country, but Fox news and the rabid right like the Tea Party so much i have to wonder if he’s fallen victim to a personal soft spot.

Mike spoke eloquently enough in his effort to simplify the Constitution, focusing on issues of freedom, and state’s rights. He said very little with which i could find disagreement. He pointed out two major points of confluence between Occupy and the Tea Party–personal liberty, and a rally-cry, “No more Bailouts!” I suspect he fastidiously avoided some points he knew or at least feared might be contentious, like for example the ludicrous assertions i’ve heard often that environmental warnings from the scientific community stem from some kind of Satanic control scheme from the–well just whom is never too clear. The Vatican or something. Commies, i guess. That just maybe the best way for Tea Partiers and Occupiers to interact, though, for now, concentrating on the common aversion to what amounts to Fascism. Interacting from that perspective could exclude much conversation. It could put the Tea Party in the same position as the Occupy movement, after their Fascist sponsors withdraw in horror. Whatever. We Occupiers got on just fine with Tea Party Mike–“Mr. Constitution.”

Mike largely expressed notions we Occupiers could embrace. I suppose he could have done a bit of research and tailored his speech toward that end, but i think we just agree; he seemed a grassroot kind of guy, to me. He briefly alluded to schisms within the Tea Party, and there’s no sensible reason to avoid acknowledging the same within Occupy. Last night’s event was attended by Occupy people that have had such extreme altercations in their attempts to wrestle a semblance of ideological unity from a stubbornly liquid platform that it could easily enough have disintegrated into bedlam. I attended with my dear friend Thomas, with whom i often disagree. In fact, he and i often disagree so strongly that sometimes i feel like smacking him in back of the head. I expect he feels the same way about me at times. Maybe much of the time. Take note, war-mongers of the world: Thomas is a great guy, and even though we disagree with one another, sometimes strongly, neither of us has smacked the other in back of the head. Get it?

So here we were last night, disparate Occupiers engaging a Tea Party mouthpiece in a room full of people that have all experienced the vagaries of human interaction under a fairly pressurized circumstance over the past few months. No butterflies fluttered around the room, but no one worked up a bickering session, either. We worked together. All of us. One could recall the old adage that “The enemy of my enemy is my friend,” but that would be devolution. I prefer to imagine that those with arguments present recognized the futility of scrapping amongst friends, if only below the radar of their Egos. Whether my nobler hopes for those pained souls in the room last night are valid or not, the assertions i made in these non-pages well before Occupy began remain true. The system we wrestle against is collapsing around our heads. And the solution is spiritual, to a far greater extent than it is temporal.

Fat Freddy is a comic book character that lives in Denver. Seriously. I met him a little while ago. (This only seems out of place, i promise.) Mr. Constitution Mike Holler expressed the opinion last night that our American republic, our constitutional federation of states, is in its final throes; that we are in a position where, ” it’s too late to save the country, but too early to start shooting.” Mike seemed tentative in expressing his hope that God might pull some kind of supernatural rabbit from his celestial hat to resolve our monumental national woes. I expect he feared perturbing the often non-Christian sensibilities of the Occupiers. He needn’t have worried quite so much–we may be largely skeptical of literal interpretations, but we’re pretty tolerant of that sort of thing. When i met Fat Freddy–an icon of counter-cultural activism important to me since childhood, an old-school Hippie with connection to the most famous and infamous of that crowd–he singled me out and pulled me aside to explain in some detail his expectation for a spiritual upheaval in coming days. Freddy’s taken up with the Urantia Book, a tome i’ve heard Christians disparage as devilish. I couldn’t see anything devilish about what he showed me. He earnestly explained his expectation for resolution. Soon.

We had come to Denver to talk about foreclosures and bank jiggery-pokery with another guy, and pulled up at Freddy’s house without knowing it. It just happened that way. These old Hippies like Tea Party fave, Ron Paul. (Follow along, now, i know it’s weird, and yeah, i know a lot of Occupiers don’t like Paul; i’m not sure about him myself). Also in attendance at that meeting was a woman i had been conversing with on line for quite a while in the context of Occupy. It took me nearly through the whole meeting to recognize her, because i knew her to live down in the Four Corners neighborhood of Colorado. She lives at Freddy’s now. This juxtaposition is so weird that now i’m expecting the Mad Hatter, or Lewis Carroll himself to pop up at some meeting quoting from Jabberwocky. Mike Holler holds out for resolution to the country’s woes in a traditional Christian context. My own suspicion, shared with J.B.S. Haldane, is that the Universe is not only queerer than we suppose, but queerer than we can suppose. But somewhere in the mix i am convinced that some divine Thing many of us think of as God is deeply interested in the little proceedings here on our little blue marble and that our interactions are subsequently and necessarily thus influenced.

We live right here. We have no choice but to manage things on a coarse, physical level; but we also live, i think, on an overlapping and less tangible plane, where we have more influence than we might ordinarily imagine. At the same time, things seem to occur herethere without our conscious direction. We’ll need to keep plugging away at things like grasping the Constitution, and taking on massive, quixotic quests like fighting banks and a world full of renegade, intransigent governments and power brokers, not to mention our own internal battles, as finely defined as within our own Souls. We’ll need to recognize the Truth in one another, even when it’s obscured by a bunch of worldly disagreement and fog. And so far as i can tell, were learning. Whatever that means.

So, “White Rule”, “Wait wait”, “Your Superior” and “I’m Not sure” are apparently the same troll

Why would one person need three computers at the same College Library in D.C. to publish his pseudo-conservative bullshit? What, are the Right Wing that piss-poor they can’t afford separate IP addresses?
Of course, WhiteWaitSuperIorSure, if I wrote as consistently badly as you do I’d take measures to hide my Identity too.

Ms Czeladtko, temper temper…

Threatening people with police action for making fun of you? That’s not the actions of somebody who isn’t Fascist. Especially when the most pointed barbs were about your sneering condemnation of people you consider inferior because of their economic status. Apparently, making the arbitrary decision that people who are so desperately poor that they’re actually not able to find housing… are “insane”.. That’s a little over the top, don’t you see? Saying further that anybody who even LOOKS homeless should be banned from parks and other publicly funded places and services, “to protect the children” was really just God-damned stupid. Also hateful. Vicious. And displays the attitude that PikesPeakOcean and JCP1800 lampooned so thoroughly.

You’ve sent out a clear message that you’re intending to represent the Rich more “equally” than the Poor. And that was before you pulled the Typical Colorado Springs Establishment stunt of threatening dissidents with police actions.

Publicly. Shoot, even the cops are usually smarter than that, announcing publicly beforehand that they intend to violently repress dissidents. Does your paid boyfriend Chacon of the Gazette have the power to spin this? Sorry, Chacon, but don’t you wish, ever, that you worked as a REAL journalist for a REAL newspaper that has things like Ethical Standards? No wonder their parent corporation is in bankruptcy.

It’s almost superfluous to point out that the “leaders” of the Colorado Springs Establishment are morally challenged. Unfortunately there are some people in town who Just Don’t Get It. They get the Gazette instead.

Being openly in favor of the “Give More Money to the Rich and everything will work better for everybody” Politico-economic structure, the one which has consistently tanked, time after time after time, leaving more people in poverty each time, pretty much seals the deal.

Why not just work as a Paid Lobbyist for the Very Rich? Oh, that’s right, you’re running for office HERE. My bad.

Tripoli and the Original Intent of the Founding Great White Fathers.

You know the first line of the Marine Corps Hymn, ends with “to the shores of Tripoli” So, why, exactly, was Tripoli so important? Well, since American Capitalism was and still is heavily dependent on goods and services produced by Slavery, an important slave-shipping region like the Barbary Coast (North Africa from western Egypt to the Gibraltar Straits) was the “Raw Material” source for American, British and French Capitalism. Slaves. Human cargo. The Bush family and the Harvard trust and the Yale trust got simultaneously Fantastically Wealthy through the ‘necessary evil’.

Capital can only work if the Richest make other HUMAN BEINGS poorer. The “rising tide lifts all boats” bullshit is simply that. In a system of finite resources, and there is no resource which isn’t… the Rich can only gain and maintain their wealth at the expense of everybody else.

Just as with Roman Capitalism, the foundation of that wealth has to come from conquest. The “free” market = the Slave Market.

The Barbary Pirates as they’re usually called in American History also made huge amounts of money selling captive Africans to White European-stock Americans like Washington, Hamilton, Jefferson. Those who didn’t own slaves, benefited by transporting, selling and providing the “seed money” Capital to the Slave Industry. They rode the whip-shredded backs of African slaves to “freedom” and wealth.

For a short while the Barbary Coast slave traders worked it in both directions. Not that the American and British and French “christian” Slavers were averse to white people being enslaved, heck no. They had plenty of white slaves themselves, just held in bond through chains of debt. Get the Suckers to believe that if they work really hard for really low wages and then turn around and re-invest part of their meager fortune into the Corporations of Their Masters, like a 401-k plan, and they too might become wealthy. It was a lie then and a lie now.

But the “pirates” perhaps by mistake sold some of the Aristocrats into slavery. OOPS.

So, the Marines were sent in.

Actually, the Marines lost. It would be considered humiliating, if they couldn’t spin it somehow.

While they were busily trying to arrange a coup-d’etat, which failed, The “pirates” renegotiated their supply contract with the American envoys, with a clause that they should refrain from taking White Aristocrats as slaves.

So the Marines, to save face, have to say that their machinations, which failed, and cost Marine lives, must have frightened the “pirates” into compliance.

When instead it was just (slave) business as usual. A miscommunication between divisions of essentially the Same Corporate Entity. Nothing to see here, SLAVE Citizen, keep moving, get the Hell back to work, nothing to see…

Fundamentalists might heed a Catholic, or not

But some will be swayed by people who only speak English, and that not much goodly, (bad joke and I’d have to go to a seance and ask Shakespeare if it’s actually grammatically correct, which leads to==>>) but will insist that Shakespearean/Jacobite English mistranslates “Thou Shalt Not Kill” when the original Hebrew grammar translates as “Thou Shalt Not MURDER”, that killing human beings on ones own initiative is Very Bad, Wicked, Naughty and (rightfully at that) considered “murder” and a crime, sin and a flaw in the basic working of the Human Soul.
Whereas doing it at the command of the King (basically because somebody else told you to do it and you’re too weak-minded to question his authority to demand such actions) is actually ordained by God as being righteous.
Thus somebody who also doesn’t speak any language other than English, and that poorly, like the fire-non-fighters from Tennessee recently made “Conservative” icons, can also insist that since the Shakespeare/King James English translated Ancient Hebrew badly, BECAUSE SOMEBODY ELSE WHO SPEAKS NEITHER jACOBITE ENGLISH NOR ANCIENT HEBREW TOLD HIM SO AND HE’S TOO WEAK MINDED TO QUESTION THAT PERSONS INTERPRETATION OF TWO LANGUAGES WHICH THAT PERSON DOES NOT SPEAK, WRITE OR ACTUALLY READ…

permits him to commit Arson-by-default by refusing to extinguish a potentially fatal home fire even though he had the equipment, training and a job which gives him the actual duty to extinguish potentially fatal home fires.

Also support executions and wars as being valid because Other People with government jobs said so.

Ron Paul = Reagan = Beck = Palin = Endless War For Capital

just not, you know, according to Capitalist “free” Market Suck Justin Raimondo who wants us to all stop focusing on anything else but the fact that the war is unwinnable. And is costing mucho dinero. Which of course it IS, on both counts, but what Saint Ron Paul’s Acolyte fails to mention is his Master rode into power in the 80s, along with Newt Gingrich and other unsavory types, bought into power by the Reaganite Sucks who started the war. The Iraq invasion and Afghan Invasion are nodes of a war started 29 years ago when Reagan first took office and brought in the “free” market Capitalism Reign of Error in full unregulated force.
The things Mr Paul instructs Raimondo to tell us poor stupid peasants are that we’re not supposed to focus any attention on any of the other nodes of the Beast they and Bush and now the current War Cabinet serve. We’re to Just Say No to Workers Rights, Public Health, Health Care, Social Justice in any form, and if we burn all these issues on the altar of the god Capital and it’s Unholy Priesthood starring, of course, Ron Paul and his bootlicking Acolyte J. Raimondo… they’ll end the War for us.
Until, of course, it becomes convenient for Capital to make Imperialistic War once again. They very Imperiously, in fact, Demand such obeisance to their agenda.

In the link at the top, Raimondo suggests that Capitalists such as his Tea Party allies, the ones who DON’T oppose the war in any way, the ones who oppose the census, which gives us the data about how MUCH Poverty, one in three Americans, actually exists… but they should take full control of the Anti-War movement. What will Mr Paul and his sycophants do to silence the rest of us?
We already know what their Ku Klux Klown comrades did in Kentucky, lynching a Census Worker at the instigation of Messieurs Beck and Limbaugh and with the full Cooperation-by-Silence of Monsieur Paul and Madame Palin.

I for one am not going to forget that the Ron Paul Klan including his (equally) Racist Son stood with Ronald Reagan not only planting the roots of the Imperial Wars he now claims to oppose. Or his bravely taking a stand against Workers Rights, or against Health Care Reform, or any other challenge to the very source of HIS war. Which is Unrestrained Capitalist Greed. He has stood with the Death-Mongers far too long to pretend that he doesn’t know them or serve them. In short, he lies his ass off, as he invites us in to worship at the Temple of The Almighty (dollar)

I can easily see, too, how killing off True Freedom in America, like the rights of Workers to organize and bargain collectively for fair wages, to try to pull themselves out of the Poverty for which Capital offers no hope… he and his fellow Reaganites offer many platitudes like pulling ourselves up by the non-existent bootstraps they’ve already stolen from us through 3 decades of constant wage slavery.

From last Friday’s action, some pictures, some linked commentary

The linked commentary isn’t about the bus lack-of-service, it’s to fellow local activist Loren Wirbel made a short documentary film just showing a FEW of the multi-gazillionaire “defense” plants around town. You know the ones, our Magnificently Superior Business Experts at City Hall made the command decision for us to give them Tax Exemptions that would make Reagan blush, to draw them to a Strategic Location where they were going to come anyway. So they get local services on the local dime far disproportionately to what they actually paid for. It’s bad enough that We The People have to subsidize Corporate Welfare Cheats like Lockheed but they’re also Corporate Warfare Daddy Warbucks types who make their money from other people DYING.
Deathmongers getting a free ride from our Wise and Noble and Ever So Much Better that us City Hall. The rest of us paid our fare, but we don’t get the ride. That’s not fair.
By the way, that last line isn’t complaining, it’s telling the Ayn Rand worshipers that they’re complete Liars when they say stupid shit like they’re actually a Free Market where everybody has a chance. Lying… Cowardly… PUKES. A swarm of Parasitic Slugs in search of a bag of salt.

A LOT of canes and wheelchairs, and a few burnout refugees-from-the-70s Ahem..

Cyrus of course.

Just some of our friends. Notice the preponderance of canes and wheelchairs.
There’s a reason for this, it’s because the other people who depend on the buses were at their jobs waiting their turn to be injured then disposed of.
Timing of the event has to be when buses are running, it’s a Catch-22 of massive proportions.
The bus service abruptly cuts off at shift change.

If you’ll notice, the Bus Service people had their Q&A session scheduled for the middle of the afternoon as well. Intentionally? Orders from Above? Eh.
One of the people who uses the bus to go to and only occasionally FROM work, said “Hey, they didn’t even actually pay attention to the badly disabled, how are they going to handle the Working Poor?”

How indeed. Republicans and Ayn Rand “libertarians” tend to take the short view when it comes to Workers and our rights. If it isn’t happening to them personally, immediately, they just don’t see it happening. If they personally aren’t staring down the barrel of the gun, they’ll simply say “Gun? What gun? I don’t see any gun… nothing to see here, citizens, keep moving, nothing to see..”

Would you sell your kid for 253 dollars?

That’s what the people of Bhopal India were told to do when the “compensation” was announced 24 years ago. That’s after 2 years of LawyerFights over Limited Liability and “Tort Reform”. The Reaganites including Ron Paul, the Dad-part of the Paul and Paul Father-son Hate Team, rather than celebrate the judgment of 12,400 rupees per each dead Indian, bitched and whined that it was Too Much.

The BAIL for the Guilty Parties, or at least the lower level Guilty parties, nine in all, one deceased and one “hiding” in a Country Club gated community on Long Island, was 25,000 rupees apiece. $502. For 25,000 counts of Murder. That’s three times the “official” count. The official count was 8000 initially and another 9000 since.
If Union Carbide wants to call that libel or slander, it would be up to them to prove it.

The Union Carbide Corporation, the truly guilty party, is not required to meet the responsibilities of a Real Human Citizen even though they have more “rights” than a real human citizen. Ron and Rand Paul and all the other Reaganite Corporate Sucks say Amen.

I was charged with possession of a knife that doesn’t fold up in Texas once, the bail for that was $800. The actual BOND for it was $2000. You know, that makes me feel especially hard core when my bond for merely carrying a knife was 4 times that for 25,000 counts of Capital Murder.

Incidentally, the BBC report only counts the initially killed, not those who have died subsequently. The clinic that Union Carbide opened to “treat the injured” closed about 12 years ago. The residues of that explosion and all the accumulated Union Carbide waste chemicals over the decades are still killing people. Sans the $253 payout per dead kid.

Maybe the criminals at British Petroleum will receive a stiffer payment. It would be next to impossible for the punishment to be lighter than that.
No, Really. Look up “impossible” in the dictionary and right next to it will be a picture of somebody getting a lighter slap on the wrist for a heinous crime.

But, after all, the economic victims of BP are (for now) mostly American citizens, a large part of them White and there’s even the damage to some of the Playground Beaches where the richest like to go, when their Very Important Jobs holding down their office chairs, keeping them from drifting off into space, become too wearisome and they need a break.

I figure one oil stained beach on a Private Island will fetch more in damages than 25,000 dead Indians.

Contrasting the Libertarians with UFPJ

The Democratic Party-tied, United For Peace and Justice (the largest beginning of a kernel of a national US antiwar coalition), has been a disaster for those wanting truly to mobilize antiwar sentiment in the US. So has the Democratic Party-tied organization, MoveOn.

Meanwhile, the remnants of the old leadership of the US antiwar movement during the Vietnam Era continue to busy themselves talking in Marxist tongues and contemplating their own navels at Louis Proyect’s do-nothing site, Marxmail.

But what about the Libertarians? Check out John Walsh’s commentary, ‘Shaming the Official Antiwar Movement‘.
