Sorry no, Reich is not the resistance.

Robert Reich is great. His historical analysis is sound, though hardly radical. His economics challenge the dominant media narrative. If his illuminations work for you, fine. But sorry no, Robert Reich is not the resistance. Reich is only playing the foil to Trump's villain. And how hard is that, really? Reacting to Trump is the Democratic Party line. Resistance means more than the third law of physics. But this focus on the Mueller probe is not even that. It's pure fourth fundamental state of matter.

Scalia cheats hangman and robs voters of excuse to elect a Democrat in 2016

HAHA. The Supreme Court's most contemptible crony is dead and President Obama can appoint a more bluish replacement. Apparently that's a key reason to have your party's president in the White House. Obviously SCOTUS justices will always be pro-corporate and conservative of the status quo, in the interest of both right and center-left-of-right parties. At face value Scalia's sudden demise is a welcome development for the so-called people's party. Except it leaves Election 2016 bereft of the only reason being pitched as to why voters must hold their nose and elect another Democrat.

Democratic Party and Obama force strike onto Chicago teachers and the corporate run press begins badmouthing the teacher’s union

Rahm Imanuel, the former Obama Chief of Staff who is now Chicago's mayor, Arnie Duncan, and President Barack Obama himself have all teamed together and forced the Chicago teachers into a defensive strike against the Democratic Party's plan to push privatization off against yet more public schools while implementing more cutbacks to public schools themselves. Their plan is to make the teachers pay for this educational cutback and then to blame them afterwards for the bad results that will continue to accrue due to corporate and religious Right demands for yet more and more privatization of the country's educational system. The corporate media has already started to badmouth the teacher's union and blame the union for this strike they pushed the teachers into! Unfortunately, another union, the SEIU signed a contract separate from the teachers union, and therefore will now use that as their excuse ("it is illegal to not cross the picket lines due to our SEIU contract") and to not honor the teachers' picket lines even as they mouth verbal support for the teachers. This strategy is very typical of the scabby pro Democratic Party SEIU nationally. Shame on them! Their crass support for the corproate Democratic Party misrepresnets their own union members and destroys multi union solidarity. And the Republican Party and Mitt Romney have already begun to spout their lies and nonsense, too, blaming the Democratic Party for supposedly being pro union. Of course, no absurdity is too big for the Republican Party crazies to use in their sectarian quest to grab the White House away from their twin brother political party, The Democrats. Never mind that both corporate run parties support further privatization of the educational system, while trashing the public schools to make it look like a necessity if the public wants any education for our kids at all. The Republican Party will blame the Democrats even when it is the Republican Party program the DP leadership hacks are forcing off onto America! The Chicago unions are fighting for our kids across the country. Support them, please. See also the Teacher X blog on Why I'm striking which states the issues in a simpler way still for those who haven't thought much about this 'strike' issue yet.

Colo. Springs content to see Obama, skip chance to put a message TO him

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-- It's so dispiriting to witness the perpetual truancy of the local social justice community. They can attend prayer meeting circle jerks apparently, but when President Obomber comes to town, on the anniversary of the targeted assassination of the City of Nagasaki via atom bomb no less, August 9, those finks are nowhere. We saw teabags, potheads and Paultards with more spirit. You might be satisfied to hear that none of the other sign-bearers divined the motorcade route, but with patience we were able to see and be seen by the president twice, as he left Cutler Hall for the Olympic Training Center and on his return to Peterson AFB via Uintah to I-25. We would have welcomed antiwar colleagues, but what are you going to do? I guess advocating for military intervention in Darfur, Libya and Syria occupies a pacifist dupe full time, not to mention cheerleading for the Army's "sustainability" PR. And you can't speak up for immigrants, prisoners, women, gays, the environment, the poor and oppressed, if you're sucking on Obama supporters' toes for the duration of the election season. Some of the democrats exiting the campaign stop thanked us for our message. One asked: "Are you with the Justice and Peace?" Sadly, no, we said. They don't turn up in public anymore. You might ask them about that, I recommended. I write this after the next day's anti-activist trial, also a no-show by the excuse-making louts.

Occupy Wall Street fave Michael Moore does it again, uses Obamacare half- measure to wield Democrat Party whip

Serenading Occupy Wall Street and the sundry nationwide protest camps it engendered, Michael Moore was ecstatic and it seemed, finally over his on-off relationship with the Democratic Party. As bad as he wanted to be, on election years, Moore was always their boy, and now 2012 proves no exception. He'll tell you the Affordable Care Act is flawed, and only a first step toward universal healthcare, but in a celebratory statement Moore cautions that if the Republicans are let to win in September, Obamacare is gone, and "all of us must now make sure that a second-term Obama continues to move the ball down the field" WTF.

For suppression of NATO protest voice, Obama campaign HQ salutes Chicago Police Department

OCCUPIED CHICAGO- President Obama got last weekend's protest message loud and clear, he's lost that voter to antiwar favorite Vermin Supreme. A week after the NATO Summit, his Democratic Party headquarters in the Prudential Building leaves the office lights on for the law enforcement vote. Or was it to compensate for Mayor Rahm Emanuel stiffing the CPD on their overtime pay for quelling popular dissent at the summit?

Is the Great American Divide whether to hate Gays or not?

The Great American Divide is whether to hate or not? Half the country is ready to hate Blacks in all ways and manner and then to call those who protest against that 'racists'. Half the country wants to close off the borders and just stay stultifyingly WASP in mindset. Half the country is ready to allow the government to torture Pentagon held POWS, to kill people outside the borders of the US ad lib, and to wage permanent wars of occupation most anywhere while waving the US flag as if at a ball game. And half the country is full of hate towards homosexuals. Let's admit this much, this country is divided on whether to hate others or not? And nowhere is that Hate Divide so large as with the so-called 'Christians' and their attitudes about Gay Marriage. These Right Wing 'Christians' simply hate Gays, and they hate almost everybody else other than themselves almost as much, too! Instead of seeing Gays as mainly being victimized by their hatreds, the so-called Christians want to see themselves as some how being victims of a supposed assault on themselves! Like the cold hearted Norwegian thug, Anders Breivik, these Right Wingers want to see themselves as some how being victimized by those who they think beneath themselves in social stature. Breivik, the Assassin Terrorist, feels persecuted by people professing Islam as their religion, while the American split led by the Right Wing churches wants to see themselves as being persecuted by homosexuals. Both Breivik and the mainstream Right Wing church goer are demented and paranoid to an extreme. Let's take measures to protect ourselves from this sick half of the sick society we live in. Let's box them and their hatreds out of our society. Unfortunately teh Democratic Party is not the force that can do that, no matter how much liberals put faith in them to try to do so. The Democratic Party is adept only at stirring up these hatreds to greater and greater levels. This is precisely what they are now doing with The Issue of Gay Marriage The Democratic Party simply is not going to defend Gays from their persecutors. Time to ditch the DP, Everybody! Separated from the Democratic Party we win, United with them we fall, and fall hard at that.

Will the 99% Spring mean grassroots reinforcements for Occupy or MoveOn?

I'm going to think that the more mobilization of the 99% the better, no matter if it's, ding-dong MoveOn Calling. The vast 99 are wise to the corporations and the corporate media, I think they'll recognize when corporate organizers try to co-opt their protest. It might be bad enough that MoveOn's nationwide "Nonviolence Teach-in" wants to defang the popular uprising, they probably imagine the public's anger can be refocused on the usual Republican bogeymen. What's so nefarious about MoveOn? It backs President Obama. That means even though MoveOn wants to play megaphone for the 99% and its demands, it's actually against all of them. MoveOn Obama is against Wall Street reform, against universal healthcare, against action on climate change, against fill-in-the-blank if the people are for it! MoveOn's centralized DC HQ, effective but decidedly not-grassy, will probably be its undoing.

Reformist US labor unions plan to suck life from Occupy movement this spring

Here it is, the big push this spring by 'Labor' to try to suck the life out of the US Occupy Movement and push us all back into the Democratic Party behind Barack O'bomber man and a second term of Republican Lite NOTHINGNESS. The 99% Spring , a big blob of empty rhetoric by the usual Vote Lesser of Two Evils suspects. Americans deserve much better than this and deserve something better than the Democratic Party Right Centrism we always get from this disintegrating Labor crowd.

The US War against Syria is part of the ongoing US War against Iran

The US pretends to be part of a 'liberation movement' against Assad of Syria but supports the one candidate/ one party dictatorships of Bahrain, where the US Navy fleet docks, and Yemen, which is part of US ally Saudi Arabia's hunting to kill, Shia Muslims battlefield. Apparently not all dictatorships are created equally for the Obama Administration, since some are supported and others not. So why support the overthrow of Assad in Syria, Obama? You and the Democrats are doing the Republican Party's work once again, one can easily see. And once again, the US government/ military is setting one section of Muslims against another, which is like if a foreign power was promoting sectarian violence and war between Catholics and Protestants, inside the US and European countries. Nasty, hateful business, in short. And it's all part of D.C.s drive for regime change in Iran, too. The picture of Hillary Clinton arriving today in Tunis to push this US allied, Syrian terrorist warfare inside Syria, illustrates perfectly exactly what Washington D.C. and the Barack Obama Administration are doing to YET ANOTHER foreign country. They are attempting to destroy Syria by organizing opposition gangs to a government regime D.C. wants to overthrow. So when will the American people forcefully reject this lust for constant war of the US business community? The time to do it is now, and not some seemingly distant time in the future when the chickens will eventually come home to roost for 'our' USA (business) First sins. We increasingly live in a sick, Nazi like society in the US, as this is what constant warfare does to a people. It reduces us, in the US, into being a completely morally bankrupt society, just like the German people were like under the Nazi regime. See Tunis police beat back protesters at Syria meeting for more info about the Obama Administration's organizing of terrorism against the Syrian people, many of who support the pro-Iranian Assad government.

Republican Congressman Doug Lamborn is how much worse than Democrat Senator Michael Bennet?

My Dem friends are protesting the Debt Ceiling Heist outside of 5th District Congressman Doug Lamborn's office, even though today the relevant vote is in the Senate, and Senator Michael Bennet has an office downtown. Except he's a Democrat. AS IF my colleagues think only the Republicans are screwing them on the debt crisis "deal!" Much as I object to being represented by the squeaky voiced pea-brain bigoted Lamborn, this Move-On crowd pretends their corporate party offers a veritable alternative. Senator Bennet is a pro-banking, pro-privatization, pro-military, frack-the-environment, blue dog centrist, who quite righty takes progressive liberals for schmucks.

ACLU and Shepard Fairey drape Lady Liberty in nationalism & jingo-freedom

Is "Freedom" the same thing as Liberty? Let's see, ACFU? It has an unfriendly ring to it.   The American Civil Liberties Union commissioned this fundraising magnet from halftone-deaf one-note Obamartist Shepard Fairey, but somebody confused this for a Department Of Defense contract. "Leading Freedom Forward"? That's USA's imperialist catchphrase! Please note at the helm is Fairey's first client: Obama. Linguists have long lamented America's abandonment of liberty for the nefariously vacuous "freedom." Freedom is for Operations, Markets, CIA-funded Pro-Democracy [sic] ops, and O-wellian doublespeak. "The Price of Freedom" is the title of the Smithsonian's military history exhibit. Now the ACLU jumps on the war-wagon? That's the Statue of Liberty with a bullhorn, as a union organizer -- you can tell by the clipboard, but they've draped her in a flag, literally. Can you imagine any national monument with less need to prove her patriotism? I would have preferred they had used blind Lady Justice in reference to nationalism, where her blindfolded could have been the Red, White and Blue. But that's probably a too obvious fashion statement about fascism. Dear ACLU, where are you going with this? Let me clarify my criticism of Shepard Fairey. He's a brilliant artist. By "halftone-deaf one-note" I refer to the FANS of his Blue Period, circa 2008. My beef is that this work recalls Fairey's iconic Obama poster, though obviously it wouldn't be considered a "Shepard Fairey creation" if it hadn't. But. Is it appropriate that the ACLU wants to promote itself and its vital uni-partisan cause, with a ubiquivisual trademark that screams Democratic Party? Thankfully ACLU's legal team at least has not failed to recognize Obama's DP as the current reigning champion of civil liberty oppression.

Morons at AFL-CIO say AT&T/T-Mobile merger will benefit union workers

That's the problem with unions. Collective bargaining is key to making capitalists heed the people, but the big unions are co-opted by back- peddling idiots. Aka, counter-revolutionaries. The AFL-CIO praised this merger because the unionized AT&T will absorb the non-union T-Mobile workforce? Yeah, what's left of the jobs. Increased monopolization means streamlined payrolls, more pressure to force concessions, and less leverage. In offering this endorsement of a proposed antitrust offense, the AFL-CIO takes its members for chumps. Remember the UFCW betraying the P-9 meatpackers, or the SEIU taking out the nurses' union? Of course the Democratic Party is chiming in, claiming a merger will help gays, by the same tortured moron math. Americans need their unions, their own political party, and advocacy groups, but they have to start with taking a guillotine to the top. Finding his pro-corporate support uncharacteristic GLAAD members unmasked their leader. This can be a one-strike litmus test. Favor AT&T, mistaken or not, you're out.

Compared to George W. Bush, Obama demonstrates W didn’t stand for Worse

Media voices this morning are positively giddy with Obama's extension of tax cuts for the rich. Probably anticipating a hefty Christmas bonus. Today would be a good time to apologize to Debby Downers you vilified in '08 because they cautioned that Barack Obama was not the change you wanted to believe in. I wasn't among them, I didn't have the temerity to rain on everyone's hopeful desperation. Today I have to laugh. LAUGH. We traded in a thieving bumbler for a hypocritical lying bore who's only changed gears on corporate graft, a higher gear. The heist Obama just pulled for America's rich leaves absolutely no question whom he serves. I mean, he can pretend to be thwarted at every turn, the wars, Guantanamo, DADT, but in this case, he's plain shilling for the other side, telling regular Americans this is a good deal for them.

GOP Republicorp outsources groveling lackies from subsidiary Democratards

We the electorate have been warned that "REPUBLICORP" will be unveiled as the dreaded merger of the GOP and corporate masters. Unconcatenated into the spiffy boo-word is mention of the Democratic Party, a wholly-powned subsidiary. Sure they're the voices sounding the alarm, and they will certainly blame the victim where voters fail to elect Dem incumbents. Or WHAT will befall us? The sky falls apparently, if the Republicans regain the majority in Congress. Although Dems won the majority during Bush's term, but couldn't subpoena squat. And those were the halcyon days before super majorities and the virtual filibuster. I bet Washington Democrats can't wait to be delivered from their put-on-the-breaks personas and resume unabashedly rolling in the loot of unfettered capitalist rape. Michael Moore calls the Republicans the bigger criminals, but I have to say, there's something about a lying petty criminal that's much more offensive, especially when you can tell the petty fiend has aspirations to larceny every bit as grand. Myself, I am simply salivating at the satisfaction of seeing the bullshit party cretins decamp.

Green is the new blue

I'm not talking about the verdant environmentalists, of the "Green Scare," the syntax applied by the government to categorize eco-defenders under the axis of terrorism. Nor the hue of the ecological mind shift that launched the global political movement. The US Green Party stands for what, beside outsiders to the corporate party? Socialism, humanism, ecology -- if you try to find common ground in a nutshell -- all the progressive reform commonsensical to the educated class. It's the Democratic Party platform sine qua non. Left unarticulated, the objectives are the Green Party's to table for discussion when they will meet less opposition. In administrative parlance that's to go nowhere.

Power already knows the truth

As the election nears, I recall Ward Churchill's rejection of a modern activist's purported objective, "speaking truth to power," as left-leaning voices speak up to validate the Democratic Party's inherent claim to represent what the Republicans do not. As if the corporate status quo doesn't know very well the reforms it is resisting. Speaking truth to power is not tilting at windmills, it's flapping your arms in a charade, to convey your divination of a windmill's function, to responses of shoulder-shrugging at the omniscience of power, literally. Democrats have absolutely nothing to offer except lip service. What else is new. So why are even stalwart leftists calling this horse race like they've got a candidate in the running?

Obama does not need your support

Apparently Americans aren't showing President Obama enough love in the White House. Apparently he's not seeing the groundswell of support he needs to address any of our problems. American politics, apparently, always compounds injury with insult. This Kool-Aid's not only allegorical, it's really poisoned. Barack Obama doesn't need your support. That's just the rope with which they'll hang his failure on you. You got Obama elected, you were especially careful not to elect a stupid man. Obama even appeared to listen to your hopes, he'll sit down with you still today, over a beer, if your complaint catches the media's eye. Now Obama will speak on and on and on like he's some Phd candidate showing off, but will he act on his words? Apparently you are supposed to do that. Email the White House, sign this petition, donate here, help us launch a media blitz, fight to preserve a Democratic majority, give to help Haiti, we've spent all your taxes to bail out the bankers and give tax breaks to the rich. If legislation doesn't pass, it's because you don't want it bad enough. Bullshit. Obama doesn't need to hear that you want health care. Obama doesn't need to hear that you want to address global warming or bank reform. President Obama was given a mandate for change, critical change, last minute, in the nick of time, real reform. He's not doing it, and his plans to cut Social Security benefits should be the last splash of cold water any hopeful holdout would need. Bush made a mockery of "mandate" and "political capital." Obama rode a tidal wave of electorate energized by the urgency of change. Why is he vacillating now? From the vantage point of the oval office, he knows better than to pursue populist reform? Like Bush knew better? Yes, it's going to be up to you. And sending an email to 'ol Obama is not going to cut it.

Does your elected representative need to hear from you?

The emails are flowing in furiously. Senator So & So needs to hear from you; we need your donation to run this ad; our voices must be louder than the interests arrayed against reform. I ask you. On the issue of health reform, climate change, or ending the US wars, does your elected representative still need to hear from you? What sort of amnesia is there in DC, that the party given a mandate in 2008 suddenly lacks for moraL conviction? Change That Works has organized an AMBULANCE TOUR for Colorado Springs, Canon City and Pueblo on December 8 to keep alive the issue of Health Care Reform, although of course it's still framed unfortunately to specifications dictated by the insurance lobby as "Health Insurance Reform." It may not happen tomorrow at 10am, give or take a sign or two calling HEALTH CARE REFORM A SHAM, but the callous bastards will ultimately get what's coming to them, being cut out of the middle entirely. Health is a universal human right which the insurance giants will not be able to deny Americans for much longer. Universal health care is a human right There is no moral basis for earning profits by standing between people and the care they need. Universal health care for all. Profiteers to the gallows.

Sarah Palin dons lipstick for Dog Dinner

She's got a book tour, so what? But Oprah is willing to suffer her for two couch sessions, now Hillary Clinton wants to grant her a beer summit. Foreign leaders can't get an audience without preconditions. Why is Sarah Palin accorded such stature? David Letterman protested his contractual obligation to feature reality TV "Survivor" contestants on Late Night. He made them stand at the edge of the stage, at audience level, instead of joining him on the furniture reserved for celebrities and real people lifted from the news. But Letterman's rejection of the contrived importance of the Survivor casts worked against him. The television audience grown fond of the individual contestants tuned in to see their moment in the spotlight with the king of late night, and felt intimately slighted themselves by Letterman's haughtiness. Maybe it's a lesson the Dem powerbrokers don't want to relive with John McCain's last mate from tribe GOP. With the media able to make it all Sarah, all the time, who is the Obama administration to pretend Sarah Palin is just a hockey mom in lipstick --or was it a dog-- I'm surprised to have forgotten the distinction. Actually the distinction is the difference between Sarah Palin being champion idiot at a Dinner Game, or the winner's date at a Dog Dinner. I know what they're doing, and it's every bit as gruesome as parading the circus freaks. And worse. Those Palin supporters who are also railing at the loss of whatever it was the Constitution meant to them, are going to be proved right. Of course it depends whether you think Sarah Palin ever had a chance in 2008, or whether she has any viability in 2012. I'm inclined to think not. And I'm pretty sure that's the consensus of those eagerly pandering to Palin's political aspirations. Palin makes an ideal straw candidate. She is who the people want, by "the people" I mean of course, the sans culottes. What's the new equivalent -- the American ill-dressed? Palin appeals to all variety of voters who think politics need a shot of authenticity, whatever. And she hasn't got a chance, she couldn't even squeeze a middle school education between now and the start of a 2012 campaign. For the coup de grace, Palin's character assassins could parade freak two, Levi Johnston, to drop a second shoe. There's everything to gain by floating Palin's balloon, because you prevent opponents from materializing a real one. By all means, inflate Palin's ego, and let her people's hopes take flight. Blow, blow, the sky's the limit. This is the American two party system at its most efficient. It's Billie Jean Kings versus Bobby Riggs, all show. Unlike King who only reluctantly agreed to the Battle of the Sexes with the aging baffoon, the Democrats are courting their challenger. The closer she can bring her big mug into camera frame, the bigger the money the Dems can draw from those staking odds. It's good for Las Vegas, it's good for the Dems, it's good

Not Health Insurance, Health CARE

NOT HEALTH INSURANCE, HEALTH CARE. Local Dems are being rallied again by the SEIU and other corporate handlers to ask for Health Insurance Reform. These are the same gate keepers who squelch calls for Universal Health Care, and who stand back from Democrats like Congressman Alan Grayson (D-FL) when he labeled his Republican health reform adversaries as callous obstructionists. The Republicans are not meeting anyone halfway, why do the Democrats begin the negotiations from the center? It's a rhetorical question of course, because both corporate parties support the health insurance industry. The real question is why DO YOU ask your representatives in the legislature to begin with a compromise? Why do your organizers insist that the grassroots voice temper its demand? Grayson angered his fellow congressmen by calling them murderers. Was he right? Here's what he said: "If you get sick in America, this is what the Republicans want you to do: If you get sick America, the Republican health care plan is this: Die quickly ... That's right, the Republicans want you to die quickly if you get sick." Asked to apologize for the remark, for besmirching Republicans and trivializing the Holocaust, Grayson offered to apologize to the dead, to the more than 44,000 Americans who die every year because they lack health insurance. "That is ten times more than the number of Americans who have died in Iraq and who died in 9/11... But that was just once. This is every single year. That's right. Every single year." "I call upon the Democratic members of the House, I call upon the Republican members of the House, I call upon all of us to do our jobs for the sake of America, for the sake of those dying people and their families ... I apologize to the dead and their families that we haven't voted sooner to end this holocaust in America."

Colorado Springs Union Printers Labor Day event a dead ended march by SEIU to a locked up Democratic Party office building!

Good grief what a pathetic event I just attended at today's Labor Day rally to try to build support for Obama's health insurance reform' project! It had all the usual local area Democratic Party tied people out there, and they marched us, after an insipid talk-to rally attended by about 50 people, straight down Union to the abandoned and deserted offices of Mark Udall, in a locked up building fronted by an utterly empty parking lot. The staff for this guy didn't even have the energy to open up the building for us upon the rally's arrival! It was DP poisoned, dead ended organizing by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) at its worst, and the dead end locked up building symbolized perfectly where Obama will lead this crowd in the long haul. To a dead end for any real reform taking place very soon. This 'rally' was utterly underlined by the no-show DP hack, Udall, and the anemic attendees that came out to give their support to .... what? ...'health insurance reform'? Now just what is that and what happened to single payer as a goal for real reform as opposed to encouraging a rabid herd of profiteers to still take their profits off the sick and maimed? This was one of SEIU's 6 Colorado State recent rallies BEHIND the Democratic Party machine they so hope to get a few crumbs from. One such crumb is now called 'insurance reform'. Forget about American health care reform altogether, or at least keep it hush-hush! How about these 2 signs for none-inspirational de-motivation for health care reform activists? Health Insurance Reform '09 - We Can't Wait! (and the even worse:) Reform Now- Insure People, Not Profits ...?   Notice the emphasis on INSURANCE put out by these Obama-Lites of the SEIU? They were rallying us to be keeping INSURANCE at the helm of the delivery of American Health Care, even if more than a few of those who chose to attend the event hardly realized that! Very sad and no wonder the Union Movement in the US is dead, dead, dead. Nobody will get inspired by these union hack goals and their insipid rewrite of any decent goals for organized labor to focus its energies on. The American public is sandwiched in between Right Wing kooks and not even liberal hacks, but flag waving centrist bureaucratic hacks from and allied with the Democratic Party. Thank you, SEIU, for next to nothing here. You are simply not Change that Works, but simply more of the same rotten old dead-ended business unionism that leads to disorganization of the workers you claim to speak for. Change has to be fought for and not compromised into zombie-like existence by hacks like yourselves. It will take much more than this to accomplish REFORM.
