Spank a Vet with a warm fuzzy Attaboy

For those who think that the Peace people dishonor the veterans, think a bit on what the most prominent campaigns has to offer in the way of humiliation. One of the "new and improved" corporate motivational methods is called "peer recognition" because research showed that workers don't want to actually be, you know, adequately paid for our labor which enriches our bosses and impoverishes us. No, we want the empowerment of "recognition" for our good deeds. Say (and this happens far too often to be hypothetical) you have an innovation that saves your company many times your annual salary. What does the boss do to reward you?   First he patents your innovation and declares it corporate intellectual property, then gives you an award ceremony where he more or less pats your head and tells you "Attaboy!" which those English speakers who own dogs might recognize. There's even an award letter, usually hand-written by your supervisor, saying "Attaboy!" and sometimes a Warm Fuzzy, which is a recognition pin that looks kind of like a piece of pocket lint or a dust-bunny from under a desk. How special, right? Your peers get to recognize that your contribution made the boss wealthier and as a reward you get treated like a dog in front of God and everybody. In the Military, the ultimate enforcement arm of the Corporate Empire, you get something called a "medal" or a "service ribbon" and there's even a medal for not getting arrested for a year. Seriously. This type of manipulative behavior is as old as the idea of organized military. A pay and benefits raise would be a lot more meaningful than a piece of brass or maybe silver with a recycling value of maybe a buck. But gosh darn it, that would be Too Expensive. So the Corporates, the sole beneficiaries of Military Action, get to go even further with the "Thank A Vet" campaign, they get their publicly subsidized (corporate welfare) non-employees to do a really dangerous job, people who are being robbed of THEIR essential rights and freedoms in the name of making Americans (or at least their corporate owners) Free (to take all the resources of the subjugated nations and kill anybody who resists) tend to fight back. Throw airplanes at "our" buildings and such. Add in that the equipment the military uses, at great public expense and huge private profits to the Corporates, is usually dangerous in itself. Take Depleted Uranium, (please) which makes a steel shell more massive in less space. Those of you who understand ballistics would appreciate that and those who don't, study it. It's simple Newtonian physics. With a titanium tip and an explosive charge it can go through any armor. "Terror" groups who are targeted by, say, American or British tanks realize this and if they can obtain an intact round (one that didn't get smashed or exploded) will re-load it and send it back. The uranium, the heaviest naturally occurring element, has value especially in small pieces to be

Doug Lamborn won’t touch President Obama because he says he’s a Tar Baby

That line probably gets lots of laughs at Tea Parties, but over Denver airwaves, Congressman Doug Lamborn's likening President Obama to a "Tar Baby" got, I'll say it, sticky. Yeah, the expression meant "intractable quagmire" when Mitt Romney used it to describe an cost-prohibitive subway project, but Tar Baby's primary allusion to a negative African-American stereotype got Romney in trouble. Now like a banana peel gag irresistible to Republicans, "Tar Baby" is how Doug Lamborn chose to describe, not a hole in the ground into which you pour money, not a trap set by a clever fox to lure the Uncle Remus progenitor of Bugs Bunny, but to describe his Teabag constituents' poster child usurper, risen from America's untouchable class, our first black president.   You dopey Tea Party Klan jester, you won't shake Barack Obama's hand because it's black. You're a racist sneak, unfortunately egged on by the bigots endemic to your backwater district. I hope you find that the rest of Colorado will make your "Tar Baby" remark a real tar baby for you. Lamborn says he meant "quagmire" and a supportive media is referencing the dictionary to assert his usage was correct. But the instances for which Romney and John McCain apologized were quagmires, not personifications, least of all OF Obama. A physicist can say he's got a problem that's real bitch, but not if he's talking about his wife. I think it's fairly disingenuous to say the primary definition of Tar Baby is a quagmire. That's like concluding Fag is a cigarette. Yes, but that's when neither are used to describe a person. Curiously the local media helpfully mention that "Tar Baby" was a plot device in Uncle Remus, popularized by Disney in Song of the South. No mention that it's the only animation that has not been reissued, because it's widely regarded as offensive on racist grounds. Lamborn has apologized to President Obama and assures interviewers that he's confident his apology will be accepted. Isn't it ironic that he won't touch Obama with a ten foot pole, yet can count on the man's magnanimity? Of course he's right, the president opposes nothing, why take issue with racism? But I believe Lamborn will have lost his value to even his Tea Party Klan associates. Having his apology accepted, it's going to be impossible for Lamborn to belittle Obama with even a pea-brain pretense of credibility.

…While their Political Servants are pushing austerity for the Working Class

But not for their Political Backers, who bailed out their industry at public expense, a pair of Rich-Bitch Investment Bankers from New York took a joyride in a taxi to Las Vegas and Los Angeles "on a whim". Take that, Peasants! We're cutting off your grandma's Social Security and your pension and your rights to bargain for a fair wage and decent working conditions, but we get to make a bold statement of the Divine Rights of Wealthy Assholes! And have the BBC report it as a Serious News Story!!! How Elitist of us! Maybe they'll pick up George Bush, John McCain, Boehner, Scott Walker, our own Doug Lamborn, and Richard Cheney on the way back and fellate them, in gratitude for them using Corporate Welfare public funds to bail them out when they and their sorry ilk trashed the economy for everybody else in the world. Alle Sieg Heil am das UberMenschen Rich Bitches! And by the way, y'all can line up and take turns helping yourselves to a Texas size all-you-can-eat buffet of Kiss My Liberal Ass.

‘Call us when WE behead somebody’ …again.

So, what happens when we do WORSE than behead somebody? Say, for instance, gut-shoot a third-world person knowing full well that the only place in town which can treat an abdominal wound is a hospital associated with whatever torture regime we're propping up, or a US Military Hospital who will patch the dude up and then turn him over to somebody like the Saigon Torture Regime? Which is what these rifles were designed for doing. Not for a humane quick kill. The AR series, including the most infamous of all the M16A1 and its assorted A numbers derived therefrom, was designed specifically to gut-shoot. The bullet-barrel-powder combination was ordered so that it would cause massive rips inside the intestines with a very small entry wound. Until Dr Joseph Lister discovered a way to use antiseptic surgical techniques, a gut wound was an automatic death sentence. A slow, painful one that could last days. The theory behind the AR series is that in Third World countries, the Guerrilla Theater, (guerrilla is the Spanish word for "little war" not the fighter therein, A common misuse of the word) the fighters with a comrade so afflicted had a very few nasty choices. Take their wounded comrade with them, slowing them down so the Army would have an easier time capturing or exterminating them, killing him, or leaving him to be captured and his life saved long enough to be turned over to the Torture Regime. We had a candidate for president in the last election, an Admiral's Kid naviy pilot who was most famous for being a screwup, protected by his daddy's rank. Wrecked his third Very Expensive U.S. killer aircraft and the DRVN government took him prisoner. Technically, what he and his fellow pirates err Pilots were doing was an act of terrorism, not a war crime per se because nobody from either the Hanoi government, the Saigon government or the U.S. government had ever formally declared war. It was on the level of 9/11 only using more planes and the killers, instead of dying to accomplish their deeds, would fly back to their carriers or their bases in Thailand or Singapore, neither of which had ever declared war, have a steak dinner, get drunk at the O club and congratulate each other on what brave pirates err Pilots they were. The DRVN claimed to have shot him down, but with his flight record the notion that they were exaggerating sounds plausible. He was given Prisoner Of War Status. The Viet Minh "cong" soldiers were not given such status. McCain bitches a whole lot about the treatment he received as a prisoner, but never once mentions that the prisoners in South VietNam were treated even worse. By the same legal traditions and conditions the U.S. Puppet government in Saigon used, the DRVN could have just as easily executed them as terrorists. Saigon did it routinely, with the help of the U.S. The U.S. Army said they didn't torture prisoners, which is bullshit, but let's

Bolton (reportedly) renews call to Bomb Iran.

As ChickenHawk Supreme, he's done so many times in the past... Called for OTHER people to do the deed. My suggestion for all these "kill in the name of God" Religious Terrorists like Bolton, Bush, Prince, Cheney, Palin etc... strap some dynamite vests on and parachute out over Teheran and do it your Own God-Damn Stupid Self. Pay for it with "your" own money too, you stole that to begin with, took it literally off the dead bodies of your victims, both American and "foreign", as though God really gives two shits about the nationality of either murderers or murder victims. NeoCons are such pukes.

Steve Bach, mayoral candidate…

"anti-establishment" but being heavily funded by the Real Estate thieves who make up the Establishment here in Colorado Springs. The Real Estate Thieves who were willing accomplices to the Mortgage Scam which broke our local economy, that of Colorado, that of the United States and of the entire world. The Real Estate Thieves who inherited the land grab, the baton passed from such murderous thieves as Carson, Custer, Palmer, Andrew Jackson even. The owners of the land still occupied it? Easy solution, exterminate them. Mass Murder, attempted GENOCIDE (but you bastards didn't get ALL of us, now did you?) Thieves like Zeb Pike who was on a mission to map out, for future conquest, this area which at the time wasn't under the sovereign rule of the United States, but instead under the King of Spain. Not much of an improvement either way, but even by Great White Father paternalistic dictatorship laws, it was prelude to Grand Theft. These Real Estate establishment are the ones who are backing him, his advertising budget now includes Television Ads and signs all over the city, the "Freedom Corporation" news outlets like the Gag-Zette backing his play, Fox News backing his play... But he's "anti-establishment". Start your campaign based on a lie, what are you going to build on it? More LIES? Also backing him are the "Strong Mayor" backers, who want to give even more dictatorial power into the hands of one person. Goons like Doug Bruce and Sallie Clark. Goons who take Publicly Funded police and use them in their for profit war against not poverty itself, but people who are impoverished, and visible. Goons like Lisa Czeladtko and Daniel Chacon who have made statements that the Parks and other Public entities, properties and institutions should be the Private Domain of the Very Rich, no "homeless" need apply. Homeless is an adjective, you would think people who promote English as the ONLY language of America would learn to speak it a little better. Used as a noun it strips the dignity and even the status of Child of God Human from the persons so afflicted. Many if not most, made into "the poor" or "the homeless" or whatever adjective-cum-noun is imposed on US by the policies of these same "maverick" (an unbranded steer) "rogue" and "renegade" Politicians who claim not to be Politicians. Set in stone Establishment Lackeys who claim to be Anti-Establishment. They only use the word "homeless" as an adjective when they refer to homeless PEOPLE as "the homeless PROBLEM". Further dehumanizing us. I've been homeless, ain't proud of it but there's not one reason to feel shame about it either. If people who make their money from theft or from enabling the thieves, like Chacon and Czeladtko and Rivera and Palin and Doug Bruce succeed in their goal of privatizing the entire economy of America, bring every last dime into their own bank accounts, they'll be creating more Homelessness. All in the name of Progress. Oh, Maverick, rogue and renegade... They've apparently forgotten those phrases' true origins. Maverick was a rancher in Texas. Open

News sources, MSM and the mouths of horses…

See, we constantly get told, on this site and any other site that opposes the wars and the occupations and such, that we're listening to the "Liberal Mainstream Media". Huh? The most frequently criticized "Liberal" media are as rabid a War-mongering Mob as Fox, they're just more polite about it. Sometimes more polite about it. The bullshit with the "Ground Zero Mosque" is being whipped up by the MSM CORPORATE whores just as much as the FOX corporate whores. With an insidious difference, they'll use weasel words rather than coming right out and saying "Hate Muslims! Hate Islam! The REAL 'Obsession' is our Hatred for all things Middle East!" like FOX does. Same with the Wounded Warrior bullshit the Pentagon tries to fill a swimming pool with, and then dump us in. The fault of causing all those wounds and deaths isn't in the Anti-War movement, it's in those who twist their own words to make it appear just, and righteous, to CONTINUE the wars and start others. Why would they do that? Money. What did you think, that the Corporate Press would cut the throats of their Pigs who lay the Golden Turds? Of course they won't. People who were recently in the Military Establishment have a little bit of an excuse. Not much but some. It's called Stockholm Syndrome. "Jonah, from whose rectal orifice did you pull that one?" but, straight from the Horses' Mouths is more like it. Stockholms is well documented because the United States Military uses it to defend against confessions made by U.S. POWs. In every non-declared war in my lifetime, the only POWs treated as such by the U.S. military were those held prisoner by the people the U.S. soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines attacked, in their own countries, without a declaration of war. Like McCain. VietMinh "cong" soldiers were handed over to the Saigon Govt troops for torture and execution, not as POWs, but as criminals. Fairly typical, Bush demanded that any American soldiers taken prisoner by the resistance groups in the nations of Iraq and Afghanistan be "treated humanely under the terms of the Geneva and Hague Conventions" while denying any such treatment to the prisoners captured and tortured and killed by OUR soldiers. So here's how Stockholm's works. It's a principle of Pavlovian Conditioning. Like when Dr Pavlov trained his dogs to slobber every time he rang a bell. In the Chinese prison camps during the Korean War, the SAME techniques used to train those dogs, and to train the U.S. soldiers and really those of every established military in the world, were called "brainwashing". Who says so? The U.S. Army When we write of War Crimes committed by the U.S. Army, our sources certainly aren't the Tame Media. They're the often conflicting reports issued by the Army and... from the soldiers themselves. The recently discharged soldiers, well, they're still hopped up on the Industrial Strength Koolaid administered by the Army. In-their-face confrontations against the lies they were told so often is a good therapy for that. It

The “difference” between an IED and a land-mine

Is the difference between a Militia Group (like those commanded by Washington) and the VietMinh or the Taliban "Insurgents" A matter of Semantic Perspective that's vital to propagandists, espicially if the Propagandists don't have anything better. It's the so-called "difference" between "conqueror" and "liberator" , USAF Bomber v Suicide Bomber Decapitation with a sword and decapitation with a .50 caliber round fired frim a Vulcan electric motorized Gatling gun. Waterboarding as War Crime when practiced by the Imperial Japanese Army and waterboarding as "enhanced interrogation" when done by the Imperial American USMC, CIA and DHS. Tianmen Square and the Boston "massacre" or the Honduran "counterinsurgency". The Anschluss and "Regime Change". Genocide against European minority groups and Genocide against American Indians. The list goes on, but the main difference is that Land Mines are forbidden for deployment and the Terrorist States who deployed them mandated to clean them out, destroy them and compensate the Mostly Civilian Child victims of their monstrous use (or their families). In a treaty that the former ChickenHawk President refused to sign on the ridiculous notion that it violated U.S. Sovereignty.... even though the United States doesn't actually deploy land mines or, (as in the case of the terroristic bombing and mining of The DR VietNam, which one of the Major Party presidential candidates from the last election was doing when he was captured) on territory that's recognized as United States Territory. Other than in the Insane Delusional definitions of the U.S. "nationalists" like Bush and his demented disciples. (Special "shout out" to our Homeboys Bob Newman, Dobson and Haggard on that) There are two major parties in our Corporate Dictatorship, one votes as a bloc, no exceptions, and anybody who breaks ranks is called a traitor and shown the door. The "Other Party" currently in the majority in the House, Senate and Executive branch has enough Right Wing extremists, only the Republican Press calls them "moderate democrats" to sway any ratification of the treaty to either vote it down, or have it watered down to a Null Argument, or worse, charge the Children of Afghanistan and VietNam with crimes for destroying United States Government Property by exploding "our" Land Mines. I bet Dobson and Haggard and "Gunny" Bob would love that option. They probably have pictures of little kids with various parts blown off that they use for Porn. "Gunny" Bob is allegedly a Vet, I don't know if he has a collection of human hands harvested from the kids he killed during his "service" but he strikes me as That Type. Yeah, that's confrontational. So is calling the Quakers "Terrorists" because they dared to ask His Royal Lowness to stop lying, and published detailed lists of "Gunny" Bobs lies. A paid Right Wing Propagandist like him would appreciate the "Difference" between a Land Mine and an IED.

The Dubya archetype as maladroit foil

Some might argue that it began before George Dubya. Apparently the US public's distrust of politics is placated by believing its fate is in the hands of someone they could feel comfortable having a beer with. I'd say it began in earnest with the cardboard figurehead Ronald Reagan, and continued through the wimp and slick Wimpy. The perceived acuity of the US president has since been diminished ad absurdum to an incoherent, uneducated, illiterate inebriate. The ascension of Barack Obama marks a change meant to refresh voter confidence, but clearly our government's winning motif is taking a not so distant back seat. Americans need someone with whom to feel superior, if not in the highest office, at least among his foils. We saw it in Obama's purported campaign opponents Wrong-way McCain and the sans pareil Sarah the Plain. With Republicans willing to plumb heretofore unfathomable shallows to foist its characters, there appears to be no end of candidates for rodeo clown. While I'm inclined to think these caricatures are fashioned by the media's framework, mano a mano performance like Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal make me a believer in the solo tour de force majeure, excuse me, grand malheur. Could Jindal's rebuttal to President Obama's congressional address have been any weaker? It's hard for me to predict that SNL will give us anything other than the Palin treatment, lampooning Jindal's insipid pitch by reprising it verbatim. Now you've been to a doctor, you've watched your lawyer kick ass, you've taken the sage advice of accountants, you've been impressed by museum docents, grateful to police officers, seen miracles performed by plumbers. I've even found myself in the debt of cable installers, and more often then not, public clerks. Are we to then believe that Bobby Jindal and ilk are the best our public offices can offer?

The Obama Mission Impossible caper

South Park this week lent its usual on-the-spot spot-on insight to the Obama victory. The South Park plot suggested Tuesday's triumph was the result of McCain colluding with Obama to seize the White House, solely to access a presidential escape tunnel which runs under the Smithsonian, putting them within grasp of the HOPE Diamond (get it?). An Obama-McCain Oceans-08 Mission Impossible heist might be stretching it, particularly with Palin cast as the technical mastermind, but would it be entirely a fiction? Did you hear McCain campaign director Steve Schmidt recently answering critics of his strategy? Schmidt described John McCain as "the only Republican who could have mounted a campaign that would come anywhere close." Was that Schmidt's directive? To come close? Was the nominee his to choose? It's been revealed that Schmidt himself chose Sarah Palin as the VP pick. A good choice? Not? It makes me wonder about the objective of the McCain bid. To put up a good show, or to be a contender? As unthinkable as Palin was as a potential national figure, her draw as center of attention was undeniable. The McCain/Palin ticket sure looks to have been a setup. Was it but a straw-man against whom an African American couldn't lose? Both McCain and Palin, in their own ways, seemed epically comic caricatures of awful. They played the bad-guy opponent for the majority of wrestling fans to cheer against. There are of course always legions of WWWF fans who back the bad ass. They follow the underdog's career as the heavy, maybe hoping someday he'll be picked for a stint of glory. Even if wrestling is fixed, you can hope to influence the fixing with your cheers. Tuesday night also reminded me of watching the loser of the 2004 presidential election, dutifully giving his concession speech attended by his multi-millionaire wife. Remember the Heinz heiress who would be First Lady? The Producers Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder knew where the money was made on Broadway, from widow pensioner investors with dreams of stage glory. Maybe political party apparatchiks know it too. You can defray a bunch of your expenses if you can draw the lonely heiresses into the ring. They've got the billions/millions, with the wardrobes to match. Where would they find comparable spotlights to highlight those baubles? Make them queen of the ball, with the chance to be First Lady Win or not, they'll get their money's worth of attention. Does America have a two-party system, or a single corporate party? Well then, are the Republican and Democratic parties a single political machine or not? Ergo, wrestling match aside, do the match promoters care whether the democracy torch bearer is Red or Blue or black? The much we already know must color the election result. What did you make of the orchestration we saw in Grant Park? A celebration of historic proportion was laid out in Chicago. In Arizona, the GOP assembled their booing chorus of hangers on. En toto, Obama's CHANGE movement was executed without a single hitch.

Memorable McCain debate moments

Memorable moments from the 2008 presidential debates? After not making eye contact with Obama for the entirety of the first debate, McCain refused Obama's outreached hand, directing his opponent to shake hands with his wife Cindy instead. Out of the blue, McCain made an off-hand complaint about his pen being old. Prompting this graphic. McCain's self-parody of a previous debate, when he didn't know in which direction to walk, yielded a hilarious photograph, which inspired this diagram.

Pope says, ‘Piss in the jar, Please.’

New scientific 'advances' are being made by God these days! The Pope has just ordered that all priest applicants must now pass psycho-illogical profiling tests! The BBC reports that wannabe Priests to face 'sex drive tests' What next? Peeing in the cup? Lie detector tests for archbishops of the Liberation Theology category? If they take out all the pedophile, gay, and heterosexual masturbating men that apply (apparently there was no hair openly growing in the palms of these men's hands making more intensive testing necessary), they will have to allow lesbian nuns into the priesthood, and that would certainly change the nature of the Catholic Church all for the better.... but still? Plus, this move encourages the Marine Corps to start doing these tests on their ever so normal American youth recruits. Then we would only have nice young normal men torturing and shouting 'KILL! KILL! KILL!' This seriously shows the dangerous wave of communism that is moving like a tsunami towards our Atlantic Coast from Rome by way of Barack Obama. I am now more likely to vote for John McCain. Also to mention that I had a wet dream just last night about Sarah! She was whipping America! By the way... That picture above is an art work that shows Jesus Christ crucified on a cross in a jar of urine, which I find very personally offending. See how bad these communist artists can get? John McCain is the type of leader than can bomb the beJezus out of these American communist art centers, and YES, even those abroad. He's for real change! And I think that he could work quite well alongside The Pope to help make the universe a much safer place and help reunite the EpiscoPalin Church back with the Catholic.

80906 Parade of Homes of Assholes

COLORADO SPRINGS- Is it my imagination, or are the McCain/Palin yard signs receding? This year has meant such a depressing drive through our neighborhood, to see all the "Families for McCain," even "Women for McCain" signs. Today we thought we'd record just how many there were, and lo, they appear to be on the wane. Sure, signs for local Republican contenders remain, thus the selfish/conservative residences are still marked, but their homeowners may now be shying away from being full-on bullish for their dwarf geezer and his bespectacled Gold Rush tart. Still, let's list the addresses of those Colorado Springs 80906 neighbors who steadfastly endorse the McCain/Palin ticket. Smile, you're on Candid "dumbshits-only" Camera. This time your arrogant determination to show your ignorant boot-heel clicking is for keeps. These signs are like BBB badges, but say the obverse. I'll bet these households are the same as in 2004, when they were the Bastards who Backed Bush. We thought about offering OPT-OUT coupons, for those who didn't want their addresses on a Dumbshit List. But it would have been disingenuous of us. The election results are going to be permanent. Which side you cheered tells plenty about you, and it will be good to remember.

BBC reports how US forces murdered Ossetian civilians in Tskhinvali

Just like how the Bush Administration just got though murdering Syrian civilian children in an unlawful attack on a foreign country, the US led forces of Georgia's US puppet leader, President Mikhail Saakashvili, targeted, attacked, and murdered Ossetian civilians in that area of our world, too. Georgia accused of targeting civilians And there's worse, as this despicable US political party, The Republicans, is even running a torturer of Iraqi civilians for Congress! Once again we turn to the British media for a report about this. Allen West oversaw the brutal treatment of an Iraqi. Now he is running for Congress And the Democratic Party went alongside and worked alongside the Republican Party these last 8 years, following their Clinton regime of murder of Iraqi children by 'sanctions', their prepping of the lies the Republicans used to invade and occupy the country, and their votes that most often were directly with the Republicans in funding this huge atrocity, all which is now bankrupting our own economy here at home. Yes, the Democratic Party under Obama, Pelosi, and Clinton, sit by and do absolutely nothing to oppose any of these moves by the Republcian Party, even as these murderous attacks on Syrians and Ossetians seem even to be almost partisan engagements on behalf of trying to get John McCain elected! What a sorry group of louts!

John McCain Red Top party of four

COLORADO SPRINGS- Obama draws 100,000 in Denver while McCain and goons have the elbow room to drop in at Conways Red Top. I think his campaign chose the Sarah Palin freak show so that the GOP could be seen drawing some kind of comparable attention. Otherwise, the only people interested in hanging with John McCain are John Elway and redneck diners.

The liberal University of Nebraska is encouraging terrorist threats against Americans

Let's see... Terrorist threats are made against an American and the University of Nebraska bends under the pressure of the terrorists? The American Department of Homeland Security doesn't act either. What's going on here? Why are these liberal hotbeds, like in Lincoln, Nebraska at the big liberal university there, being allowed to derail the War on Terrorism? Go figure? University of Nebraska-Lincoln Disinvites William Ayers After Death Threats, Financial Pressure What would John McCain do?

Now for a completely different poll result

Some polls says the race is neck and neck, others show an Obama lead. Baseball experts FiveThirtyEight.com, who poll the pollsters, adjusting like they do for sports as if their prediction has got to matter, (and who, by the way, predicted the Rays would make the Series), give Obama a breakaway victory. The factors which I've been polling indicate something completely different. You've noticed them too I'm sure. 1. Who's showing the respect? How many politicians and newscasters begin every mention of John McCain with how much they respect the veteran Senator? My unofficial poll says: 100% OF THEM. I'm sure that even if reports came out about McCain squelching POW/MIA efforts, they would begin with reverential references to his reputation. Why is everyone on TV so concerned to say how much they love, respect, admire, etc, John McCain, even as they offer criticism of what he's saying? Most of McCain's personal history is really damning. All of his political maneuvers are opportunistic and wrong-headed. Yet everyone always makes sure to show their deference. Would that be your inclination, if you had to talk about the little creep? McCain stands for nothing but false accusations against Obama, praise for Sarah Palin's qualifications, and he speaks in sound bites which only add to his incoherence. The mini-hothead accomplished squat in Congress except to support Bush, protect Keating, and sandbag against Vietnam vets. Still everyone is careful to sing his praises? If you want to argue that it's just being polite. Consider that the chorus is offering no such formality to Barack Obama. You don't hear them saying what a fine fellow Obama is before they tell you how they disagree with what latest action he's taken. So that's a prediction, with a consensus of 100% of the Beltway, with a margin or error of nobody, that "gotta love him." You wanna bet they know John McCain is going to come out of this race in a more influential position than he is now? 2. Who's fixed the election? And let's poll the swing states with GOP-affiliated state-employed election officials who have prepared the voter rolls with a mind to suppress the Obama vote. Also 100%. What does this mean? Barack Obama may be anticipated to have more votes than John McCain. But investigations into election tampering already perpetrated by Republican election officials show the number of disenfranchised Democratic voters is bigger than Obama's hopeful margin. So where does that leave the election? And why would those working to rig the election take the risk, if they anticipate an Obama landslide? Most of the voter registration purges have already happened, and from early voting experiences we're reliving the suspicious equipment malfunctions of 2004. No. The polls that matter are already braced for McCain. 3. Who has your friends' vote? Now try an informal poll of how the people around you are going to vote. Your personal poll results may vary, but I'd be interested to know if they vary by much. A positive predominance of our neighbors are for

McCain campaign crashes alongside economy

I know it all looks so rosy out there, as the stock markets momentarily rise, the gas prices go down, and the leaves change color. What's to worry about? Obama opens 8-point lead over McCain And to the liberal heart, the McCain campaign is crashing alongside the economy! Now surely Ship America will automatically right itself once again! Wrong. Tomorrow, you might want to go tell Joe Biden, the next president of the US, what you think about the sorry ass Republicrats that he is candidate for? Joe Biden to Campaign in Colorado Springs & Pueblo Let Joe the Plumber know that it really does stink with American politics!

Obamanos to the cleaners

Some among the media are already predicting an Obama landslide. You'd almost think they believe their liberal bias. Are you convinced? I'm not. How can the news outlets, owned by the corporate kleptocracy, be other than GOP double agents? I think their Obamaglee is to lull Dems into overconfidence, but most of all, to alarm White Bread America, that it's time to defend that voting booth from the colored interloper. Countless times every day, Media Matters of America records misrepresentations of Barack Obama coming from all persuasion of the Fourth Estate. Why, if the media was sympathetic? Why are John McCain and henchwench Palin let to rile up their lynch mob supporters with less than a raised eyebrow? And why are government agencies still colluding to rig the November vote, if a McCain victory is a lost cause?

Republican rout is now in the making- The Republican Swan Song by Conjunto God is Dead

Obama is way out in the lead and pulling away from McCain fast! See RealClearPolitics for summary of multiple polls that show this. Saying this in no way implies that the Republicans will be routed out of the Deep South and Sunbelt/ Farm belt rural areas of the country. Take another look at RealClear's electoral map of the race McCain is now out of the running in Pennsylvania and without that state, even winning in all the battleground states still would not be enough to put him over the top. With the economy crashing, his support will be slipping further in places like Colorado, Ohio, Florida, Indiana, and Missouri, all of which are places he absolutely has to win. People blame the Republicans much more than they do the Democrats for the economic mess. I find that to be a rather doubtful conclusion on their part, but still... it will work against McCain and will work to keep in check temporarily the racism of many so-called White 'Independents'. Time is running out to initiate a dirty trick October Surprise by the Bush-Cheney gang. They, it turns out, are actually the victims of the October Surprise this election. The 2008 October Surprise is the world wide Economic Depression just now getting under way. It seems that the economic fall just could not hold itself back until after the American elections. God just was not on the Republican side this time around. Satan was... And now for some music for and from the losers here... The Republican Song Democrats and Liberals, shame on you, don't punish us all just to please a few, Your holdin people back while we're pickin up the slack, and that's why we can't vote for a Democrat. Oh no, a no, no, no, no, no, no... Oh no, a no, no, no, no, no, nooo... Yeah, your holding people back, while we're pickin up the tax, Oh no, no please don't vote for a Democrat. Now we're trying to win a war and wipe out the terrorists, We're not fightin for oil we got plenty if we drill it. But the liberals and the media are spreading their lies, Get the hell out of our way and let our soldiers fight. Please Don't Vote for a Democrat! Pretty stupid song, ay? But funny as Hell! Kind of a 'Folky going to Turkey' sort of update on that ancient Merle Haggard hit.

Does this presidential race look close?

Tuesday's presidential debate left me feeling nothing but awkward. Barack Obama sat half leaning in his chair, while his opponent shuffled toward whoever held the microphone like Neko the mouse-chasing screen saver kitten, except McCain flapped his arms like a penguin, and had about that much to say. Actually, did either candidate say much? McCain repeated his incoherent assurances, and Obama's tack seemed deliberately to be not to outshine McCain. Spectators would probably delight in watching a best man win, but it seems Obama's strategy is not to clobber the Bush poster boy, because Americans can't help themselves from feeling for the underdog. Especially if he's the Last White Hope. John McCain could fly a Navy jet through the IQ gap between the two candidates. But McCain's flight record shows he couldn't even navigate that without clipping a power line and leaving all of us in the dark. McCain is that unsuited for the job, any job except influence peddling and whoring in Rio. That's not an exaggeration. He is that vacuous, that soulless, that traitorous, that cowardly, and that lacking in judgment. It does trouble me immensely that cohorts like Biden can't help but temper their public criticism of McCain with reminders of how much they like him. It reminds me of Bush as drinking buddy. With his record of failure in his every endeavor, school, flying, captivity, corruption, infidelity, war-mongering, belonging to the GOP, being tainted by Bush, where does John McCain find traction with the American populace? How the hell is this contest anticipated to be close, except the issue of Americans resisting the idea of a black president? Here's an explanation getting passed around the web: HOW RACISM WORKS: What if John McCain were a former president of the Harvard Law Review? What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class? What if McCain were still married to the first woman he said 'I do' to? What if Obama were the candidate who left his first wife after she no longer measured up to his standards? What if Michelle Obama were a wife who not only became addicted to pain killers, but acquired them illegally through her charitable organization? What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard and Princeton? What if Obama were a member of the Keating-5? What if McCain were a charismatic, eloquent speaker? If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are?

McCain Palin declare Class War

The GOP has been waging class warfare even as it cries foul of every populist attempt the fight back. Now Sarah Palin and John McCain have seized the standard for the middle class, pretending to want to lead the attack on Washington, all the while presiding over the continued evisceration of America's common wealth. Sarah Palin is a Trojan horse to thrill the hillbillies, but filled with icky Blackwater paramilitary foot soldiers.   From the 13TH: Just when you thought all the humor has left the U.S. election, along comes Que Sarah Sarah! With experience in snowjobs and folk lore, she's definitely the creme of the crop circle.

For houses with McCain-Palin lawn signs

A topical greeting card to leave where you see McCain/Palin lawn signs: Finally a chance to do more than throw watermelon rinds at their lawns signs on the drive to school. Tonight's tentatively calamitous main event offers a chance to elevate neighborly political discourse. Before tonight's Sarah Palin debate appearance, hand deliver a greeting card to neighbors on your block who have McCAIN or NOBAMA signs on their property. Whether they're selfish, bigoted, uninformed, or just idiots, make them feel the transparency of their Republican affiliation.

The return of the Bush magic flashing tie

McCain showed up to the OLD MISS debate wearing Dubya's crazy strobe necktie! Diagonal stripes of particular inconvenient width create signal noise on the interlaced television picture producing mesmerizing patterns of juxtaposed RGB. What might have passed for a Technicolor wardrobe malfunction in earlier days is a deliberate fashion faux-pas today. In the false, phony, Franglais, trompe d'oeil sense of that f-word. I doubt it's beyond anyone's French to call the mischievous upstaging device a trompe tête. President Bush has worn that tie when Karl Rove might have judged it more prudent to hypnotize the TV audience sooner than let them focus on what Bush wasn't saying. But I'm trying to reconcile what I noticed AFTER the debate. I'm curious about why subsequent replay footage of last night's debate depicts the errant accessory without the noisy interference. If digital equipment can filter the dissonance, why was it not cleaning up the necktie during the live signal? Was the flashing tie meant to interrupt the audience's flow of thought during the debate, but not the viewers' reception of the pundits' already vetted after-spin? Would there be a reason to mess with one signal, but make sure another was completely clear? And if the noisy element is manipulable, might it have been actually carefully crafted? Noise, but shaped noise, with not the chaotic effect of an IED, but a directed disruption like that achieved with a shaped charge. And not a subliminal message in Morse Code I should think, but visual counterpoint to the audio. In the form of an optic buzzer, pressed if what's being communicated by the speakers threatens to have an effect that contradicts the programmed message?

He should have quit while he was ahead

Before the debate, before John McCain even announced he'd show up after all, his campaign staff released this announcement on the internet. I'm sure it's like a newspaper writing obits ahead of time. Maybe McCain's people wish they'd prepared a version for coming in second.   Today's best question: Should McCain have quit while he was ahead?
