Okay then, self-congratulations to you for thirty years of justice and peace!

How about those journeyman activists throwing their social justice experience around like it's inviolate because they've been at this longer than the whippersnappers trying to rock their slow boat to China. They know what works after thirty years of utter failure, and they'll admit to not a single inkling that their nonconfrontational passivism has only accelerated injustice and war. By what aggrandized blindness to irony can they congratulate themselves for their contribution to justice and peace? I don't care that they decorate themselves like the dumb soldiers above whom they hold themselves, but hear this: don't you dare coopt the enthusiasm of your youngers, or obstruct their path because their fresh directions offend you.

National demonstrations to stop US-NATO war against Iran to be held this week

This Saturday, there will be a national mobilization of the remaining elements of the US Antiwar Movement in demonstrations calling for an end to the US-NATO attack against Iran. Why do I call the people concerned with stopping this aggression 'the remaining elements'? Simply put, it is because the Democratic Party tied up liberals have overwhelmingly allowed the Obama Administration to demobilize liberal opposition to US government war making, when it is led by a Democratic Party President. See United National Antiwar Coalition website to get more info about these demonstrations.

US considers using 1917 Espionage Act to thwart Julian Assange and Wikileaks

The first targets of the regrettable 1917 Espionage Act were antiwar labor organizers against US WWI conscription. Read the March 1917 cover of the anarchist THE BLAST:   "This man subjected himself to imprisonment and probably to being shot or hanged under the new Espionage Bill   The prisoner used language tending to discourage men from enlisting in the United States Army   It is proven and indeed admitted that among his incendiary statements were---   Thou shalt not kill     and Peace on earth good will to men"

Are FBI raids on activists focused on UNAC strategies?

The UNAC is claiming that recent FBI raids on the offices of various antiwar organizations are linked to those which attended its July conference, an attempt to coordinate national antiwar activities. Even the title of the conference was never pinned down. Here are the 28 action points decided for the upcoming year, which reads like a clearinghouse of ideas. Action Program Adopted by the National Conference to Bring the Troops Home Now! Albany, New York, July 25, 2010 1. The Rainbow PUSH Coalition and the United Auto Workers (UAW) have invited peace organizations to endorse and participate in a campaign for Jobs, Justice, and Peace. We endorse this campaign and plan to be a part of it. On August 28, 2010, in Detroit, we will march on the anniversary of that day in 1963 when Walter Reuther, president of the UAW, Martin Luther King, Jr., and other civil rights leaders joined with hundreds of thousands of Americans for the March on Washington. In Detroit, prior to the March on Washington, 125,000 marchers participated in the Freedom Walk led by Dr. King. At the march, King delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech for the first time before sharing it with the world in Washington. This year, a massive march has been called for October 2 in Washington. We will begin to build momentum again in Detroit on August 28th. We also endorse the August 28, 2010 Reclaim the Dream Rally and March called by Rev. Al Sharpton and the National Action Network to begin at 11 a.m. at Dunbar High School, 1301 New Jersey Avenue Northwest, Washington D.C. . 2. Endorse, promote and mobilize for the Saturday, October 2nd "One Nation" march on Washington, DC initiated by 1199SEIU and the NAACP, now being promoted by a growing coalition, which includes the AFL-CIO and U.S. Labor Against the War, and civil rights, peace and other social justice forces in support of the demand for jobs, redirection of national resources from militarism and war to meeting human needs, fully funding vital social programs, and addressing the fiscal crisis of state and local governments. Organize and build an antiwar contingent to participate in the march. Launch a full-scale campaign to get endorsements for the October 2 march on Washington commencing with the final plenary session of this conference. 3. Endorse the call issued by a range of student groups for Thursday, October 7, as a national day of action to defend education from the horrendous budget cuts that are laying off teachers, closing schools, raising tuition and limiting access to education, especially for working and low income people. Demand “Money for Education, not U.S. Occupations” and otherwise link the cuts in spending for education to the astronomical costs of U.S. wars and occupations. 4. Devote October 7-16 to organizing local and regional protests to commemorate the ninth anniversary of

. "You don't Own Israel" in Hebrew...So, I was looking for a way to say it in Hebrew without being disrespectful to the Jewish people, especially as those in Israel and in the U.S. who oppose the War, wars plural... are accused by Likud as being anti-Semitic, Bibi Netanyahu even goes so far as spinning it like an old-fashioned turn-of-the-century "Zionist Plot" or "Papish Plot" or "Red Scare" or "insert religious, Ethnic or Political minority here Plot" and, Anti-Semitic. A quick rehash of MY take on that, we were called Anti-American for any opposition to any government official or policy in all our history. Oppose McCarthy? "Anti-Americans!" Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, blah blah blah...Criticize John Wayne or whatever other Faux Hero du jour, or any of the Wars they demanded we support and you guessed it we were the A.A. slur, personified. So I sought out how to say, "Netanyahu, you do NOT own Israel". Israel, actually, means more than just the Jewish state of Israel, according to the most violent books of prophecy and history in the Bible, Israel would include the Palestinians. After the death of Solomon Israel and Judah were two separate kingdoms which routinely went to war against each other. The Old Testament is described by some as a continual Hebrew-on-Hebrew crime spree. Twice in the book of Judges there are descriptions of tribes of Israel being almost wiped out by... tribes of Israel. Ephraim (say "shibboleth") and Benjamin. Ezra and Nehemiah, two of the most hateful religious leaders, past or present, who haunted the land of Israel described more Hebrew-on-Hebrew violence than fighting the neighboring nations. So I looked, and got the translation above. That simply says "You don't own Israel" without Bibi's Hebrew Name. The translation site I used to score it only does one language to another, when I tried to get the translation of Netanyahu from English to Hebrew, it simply put Netanyahu, exactly like written here, in English characters. Hebrew to Hebrew in English phonetic spelling. So I said to myself, (as I often do) "Self, why not just look up the Hebrew spelling of it..." That's when I saw something that I missed all these years. "Netanyahu" is a Royal as in Messianic title. It's more than Bibi and Likud appointing him Judge over Israel. Without, of course, the consent of 70% of the Jewish Population of Israel, as determined in the last election, but certainly without any request for consent from the Other Israelites. Which poses a problem for me as a Christian, on one level, and would be a problem for those Israeli Citizens who oppose the occupation and oppression of the Palestinian Israelites. If I mistranslate that, and say it just exactly wrong, "Netanyahu you don't own Israel" could come out as "God doesn't own Israel." I would prefer it to be "The State of Israel neither owns Israel the Race, Israel the NAME nor do they own God". Maybe a person who actually speaks Hebrew would be able to translate that concept in a more acceptable form.

National Assembly is antiwar exclusively

Reports are emerging from July's National Assembly, the vital effort to unite antiwar forces into a common movement. Delegates from the major peace organizations hammered out a strategy to address Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Palestine. Missing from the consensus? Nonviolence, and good riddance. It goes without saying that humanitarian activists are peaceful. To legislate a dogma of non-confrontation plays right into the hands of the authoritarians. Here's the official report: AN ASSESSMENT OF THE FIRST YEAR OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY TO END THE IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN WARS AND OCCUPATIONS Address given by Marilyn Levin, member, National Assembly Administrative Body, and Planning Committee, Greater Boston United for Justice with Peace Coalition, to the National Antiwar Conference held July 10-12, 2009 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania July 10-12, 2009, 255 people representing diverse organizations and constituencies from all over the country came together in Pittsburgh: 1) To look at where we are today, 2) To articulate our long range goals to rejuvenate the antiwar movement towards building a massive movement capable of forcing an end to their wars and occupations, to take our money back from the war machine to meet pressing social needs, and to save our planet for our children, and 3) To develop and vote for action plans as steps to realize these objectives. All of our major objectives were accomplished and we leave today with a comprehensive action agenda to carry us through to next spring. Everyone had a chance to speak and differences were aired without rancor or splits to achieve unity in action. Friday night’s speakers, along with many conference participants, grappled with how to unify and broaden the movement. Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, we presented a great roster of workshops covering the major issues we face today. Saturday night’s rally was dynamic and inspiring. There were two highlights of the conference for me. First was the international component where activist comrades joined us from Canada and courageous labor leaders of powerful mass movements in Haiti and Guadaloupe reminded us that imperialism and the struggle against it are global. There was a statement by members of the Viva Palestina aid convoy detained in Egypt. We passed motions in solidarity with the struggles of the people of Haiti, Honduras, and Palestine. The second highlight was the discussion on Iran, where, in spite of strong passions stirred up by the rapidly evolving events there, we were able to illuminate the issues and debate our differences. Finally, we were able to agree on a unity position that all could embrace, as well as meeting the foremost call of the Iranians – US Hands off! No Sanctions! No interventions! Self-determination for the Iranian people! A wonderful example of a united front –- as inclusive as possible and taking principled positions that most will accept and act on. So what is the National Assembly? What you saw this weekend explains who we are and how we function. Democracy. All were invited and all perspectives welcomed.

Activists have so far failed to construct a real American Antiwar Movement

Despite the grass roots sentiment against all the bloodshed that Bush and now Barack Obama are engaged in, activists in the US have ever failed to construct a real Antiwar Movement. Do you consider that to be a harsh judgment on my part? Then please consider the fact that the US is moving towards the end of what will a decade long occupation of Afghanistan, and yet there has not been one antiwar demonstration, on even a local yet alone a national level, that has focused on opposing this! As Barack Obama escalates US war making further and into one more new country, Pakistan, the misleaders of the so-called US 'Peace' Movement remain totally silent and inactive about it. Further, there never was any public antiwar reaction to the occupation and demolishing of Somalia, the Israeli destruction of Lebanon in 2006, and also the US moves against Russia with its Georgian adventure at big time war starting, that boom-a-ranged back into the faces of the Republican Klan, absolutely not because the 'Peace' movement ever did or said anything in opposition to that war in Southern Ossetia. And even with the issue of blatant US use of torture, the opposition to government terrorism remains scant and ephemeral. The US public is utterly demoralized and unaware of its own power, thanks to 'Peace' misleadership itself, which seems to believe that only tiny groups of religiously motivated New Agers can come together and only for the most milquetoast reasons. Let me illustrate with the local PPJPC (Pikes Peak Justice and Peace Commission) and their PPJPC May calendar of inactivity. Look at it and weep! They simply plan to not mobilize themselves against THEIR President. Sad to say, the national groups they affiliate with are about on the same wave length, too. Instead of being leaders, the misleaders who call themselves 'Peace' activists are leaders in public apathy and not challengers of it. Instead of smashing the War State, they seem to want to be junior partners to it. They are about as alternative as National Public Radio, KRCC, and The not so Independent are here in the local area. In short, they are not opponents to war making at all. Without an end to the permanent War State of our American ruling class, there will be no economic or political stability to build a future for us in America. In fact, without an end to this constant construction for the War machine, the Earth is headed for a Dead End. We are currently just sleep walking toward oblivion and there simply is no way to sugar coat that basic fact. Wake up, American Antiwar Movement. You have to organize yourselves, because,People... nobody else is going to do it for you. Join and work with Coloradans for Peace here in Colorado Springs.

First Black President routs U.S. Antiwar Movement donkeys

Where is the US Antiwar Movement? What Antiwar Movement? Do you see an Antiwar Movement? Hell No (I won't go into the Streets)! No! I don't see any Antiwar Movement. See First Black President Defeats U.S. Antiwar Movement- A Black Agenda Radio commentary by Glen Ford. He did what Colin Powell and Condi Rice couldn't do alone. Oh wait! Colin endorsed Barack, didn't he? Or more like it, the Democratic Party liberal voters just defeated themselves. They were simply looking for a way out that wasn't out. They didn't want to oppose majority sentiment too hard and... Ouch! Some folk might have called them unpatriotic if they had? It was much easier to just limit themselves too voting DP and calling Republicans 'chickenhawks' and 'fascists' on the internet instead. Way too much trouble to actually go to any demonstrations! Why here in Colorado Springs the leaders of the local peace group on paid staff didn't even show up to the majority of their own public activities! They might have been seen and gotten an impolite finger or two thrown their way! ... lol... Safer to stay indoors and talk to Pentagon reps about 'greening' Fort Carson like they did. And they prayed some, too. Think I'm being harsh? Then check out the US military planes over at the El Paso County Democrats' site. I guess that they're Air Force fans? Any truth to the rumor that the Falcons are changing their name to the Drones? It would be more appropriate if they did.

Obama reneging on promises to pull US troops out of Iraq

Obama won the presidency based on the fact that most Americans found him to be credible on his promise to get US troops out of Iraq, whereas they didn't think John McCain had any commitment to do so. They got tricked and it appears that Obama today will merely restate the Bush promise to the Iraqi puppet government to get US troops out of Iraq by January 1, 2012. Look for numerous press reports to misstate that Obama is actually going to do nothing new in a manner similar to this one... Obama to Announce U.S. Troop Withdrawal in Iraq ...Read the details and you can see that it is basically the Bush plan gift re-wrapped for more liberal Democratic Party voters acceptance of it! What can be seen by this continued glue to the Bush program in regards to Iraq, is that the Democrats have no confidence that Iraq will not fall into a fight for power the minute US troops leave. The puppet government is that unstable, and in fact there are real and credible fears that civil war might now break out even with US troops still inside the country. Simply put, Barack Obama is fearful of changing Bush's game plans for Iraq, so he's sticking to the basic Republican program and sugar coating for his unmotivated Democratic Party constituency. Yes, the Democratic Party 'Peace'crats have kept the lid on all protest coming from their groups nationwide. The national coalition of these votes, the UFPJ (United for Peace and Justice) are refusing to unite with ANSWER in calling for Spring demonstrations. They simply really don''t want them with Abraham Obama in office.... he's going to free the White Middle Class liberals from their slavery under Rush Limbaugh and Fox News! Not only is Obama sticking with the Bush program directly promising to keep US troops in Iraq until 2012, he continues to carry out the Bush-Cheney game plan by expanding occupation in Afghanistan, and aggressively threatening Iran and Syria with war. Add to that the Democratic Party in no way has changed from giving Israel green light to continue their ethnic cleansing program against the Palestinians in the Occupied Territories and elsewhere (inside Israel itself). Meanwhile the 'Peace'crats stand around with their thumbs up their asses and mumbling CHANGE... SPARE CHANGE, PLEASE. It's very sad to see people debase themselves in this manner. One can only feel sorry for the Iraqi population, too. They have no guarantee that the US under Barack Obama as CIC will actually stick to the promises to get out by 2012. All sorts of excuses to justify the idea that that cannot be actually done when the time comes can be made up under the usual fire of events, and Barack Obama is just the man in the US Presidency to do just exactly that. Three

NO TO NATO Protest 2009

A No to NATO Protest 2009 is being organized in Strasbourg, France, but where is the US Antiwar Movement? A similar protest against NATO should and could be built on the same date in Washington DC at the Pentagon, so why does the American Antiwar Community always give NATO a free ride? Look below at the organizing committee for the Strasbourg event and notice how the US antiwar Community is simply MIA. That's very sad... No to NATO Protest Saturday 4th April 2009 - Sunday 5th April 2009 Details to be confirmed.................................................. A protest is being organised outside the NATO conference in Strasbourg, France marking the 60th anniversary of NATO. Sixty years of NATO are enough. NATO is the main driving force behind global war. NATO stands for the missile defense system, military bases around the world, nuclear weapons and military interventions and expenditure. NATO is a rival to the UN and the system of international law, and it is intertwined with the European security and defense system. But NATO is not all-powerful, indeed it is under extreme pressure right now in Afghanistan. Members of the open preparation committee for the protest at the 60th anniversary of NATO include: Arielle Denis (Le Mouvement de la Paix, France) Reiner Braun (IALANA, speaker of Cooperation for Peace, Germany) Chris Nineham (Stop the War Coalition, UK) Tobias Pflüger (MEP, IMI, Germany) Thomas Magnusson (International Peace Bureau, Sweden) Sotiris Kontogiannis (Stop the War Coalition, Greece) Elaheh Rostami Povey (Stop the War Coalition, UK/Iran) Peter Strutynski (Federal Committee Peace Council, Germany) International Peace Bureau (IPB) International Network of Engineers and Scientists for Global Responsibility (INES) International Association of Lawyers against Nuclear Arms (IALANA Europe) War Resisters' International International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW), Germany Le Mouvement de la Paix, France Stop the War Coalition, Great Britain Stop the War Coalition, Greece Cooperation for Peace, Germany Federal Committee Peace Council, Germany Further details of the NO TO NATO demonstration will be available shortly. Arab dictator allies of US line up in support of Israeli terrorism against Gaza

Silence. Or worse yet even, efforts to blame Hamas instead of Israel for the new slaughter in Gaza. That's what the US allied Arab dictatorships imposed on the Arab world offer their people. Complicity. Many of these Sunni Arab elites (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, et cetera) are eager for the US to hammer the Shiite led Iranians, and have no solidarity at all with their own poor let alone the Palestinian poor of Gaza.... or Palestinians elsewhere for that matter. This is the opening battle of the war to bring about regime change in Iran for the Washington, D.C. rat class, and the Arab dictatorships controlled by the US government are fully behind the effort. Meanwhile the corporate media in the US and Britain keep a tight lid on the spin of the actual news, all in support of their own imperialist ruling cabals. At least, the European Union and the United Nations have had the decency to tokenly oppose this slaughter by this Jewish/ Christian Corporate Alliance centered in the US, Great Britain, and Israel. Everybody around the globe pretty much knows who holds the big guns, and it is the US government and its immediate side kicks that do. Everybody realizes that there is always the big price to pay if one gets too out of line with what these gangsters want from them. The US antiwar community, dominated by phony 'Peace'crat types, are immobilized. It seems that the script promised by the 'Peace'crats with an Obama victory were as false as they come. They all voted for Obama and now don't know what exactly to do? Really going out and protesting against their rulers is something that might make them embarrassed and scares them no end. Locally, not a word from the office clowns of the Pikes Peak Justice and Peace De-Commission, with them only wanting to turn the other cheek from reality, though reality just keeps on beating them about their public face. So now we know why the Arab World hates us so? It has to do with their own gang of thugs kept in power by the US government. The US and Israel have even turned the Arabs into hating the PLO, now that the leader of the PLO, Abbas, is totally controlled by our sorry leaders in Washington, D.C. What a mess! And the world keeps on just getting more and more dangerous, more and more messed up, day after day. Nobody has any 'national security' these days, thinks to the Democratic and Republican gangsters that almost all voting Americans backed in the last election. This Israeli bombing of mainly children Arab youngsters living in the most horrible poverty and isolation in Gaza, is their work. Aren't you proud you voted for this, if in fact you did?

UN Ambassador speaks of the hidden genocide against the Somali people

The UN envoy to Somalia, Ahmedou Ould Abdallah, has said there is a "hidden genocide" taking place in the country. Left unsaid is that it is the United States of America that is responsible for this genocide, but at least the reality of the massacre was broadcast to the world so that hopefully some action might be taken, Somalia facing 'hidden genocide' What does it say about the character of the American people what they have done to Somalia? Here in Colorado Springs, there is a group of pacifist liberal voters for the Democratic Party organized in the so-called Pikes Peak Justice and Peace commission. They have agitated through public rallies for more US military intervention into Africa despite being nominally a 'Peace' organization. They have done this saying that more US intervention into Africa was necessary to stop genocide from taking place! So one asks what have they said about this genocide against the people in Somalia where their own US government has been responsible for? What have they done to stop it? The answer to both these questions is that they have totally ignored what was going on. It has been of no interest to them. Something very similar to this has taken place on the national level at the United for Peace and Justice 'Peace'crat group, and all their local affiliates. What does that say about the character of the American liberal community? It really says to the general public that their supposed 'protestations' for 'Peace' should be taken with a big grain of salt. It also says that when these same people get onto the band wagon talking about genocide in regions of Sudan where the US government is itching to get further involved for multiple reasons all having absolutely nothing to do with stopping any sort of mayhem, that one should also weigh their inaction about not caring the least about people in Congo and Somalia, not to mention the continent of Africa as a whole. After all, the US government has been responsible for the destruction that is now causing this genocide in Somalia, but the liberal 'Peace'crat voice is on MUTE. The best we in the US can do to stop world genocides from taking place, is simply to understand the negative role ALL Us government intervention plays in creating world war zones. Their is not a positive role the US military has to play as long as we have a government run by the military-industrial-government complex. To call on this complex to do nice and decent things is just absolutely the worst thing to do. The call should be to eliminate this monstrous danger to the world, not advocate for its use somewhere or other. UN Ambassador Abdallah's voice will be ignored by the Powers that caused the hidden and silent genocide to

Obama’s Afghanistan Surge and the ‘Peace’crat picnickers

What's that silence out there? It's the silence of all those supposed peacniks who turn out to be nothing but picnickers for the Democratic Party cons who are behind adding more US troops into occupying Afghanistan. You won't see them out protesting this new 'Surge' for war, or even talking about it. In fact, the 'Peace'crats main group, the UnUnited for Peace and Justice (UFPJ) has decided at its recent small and semi-national December Christmas picnic to try to change the whole subject from one of war to American economy. They will not be uniting with antiwar groups for building united Spring antiwar demonstrations, but will go it alone talking about how bad the economy is instead, and blah, blah, blah.... Whirled PEAs.... Feel free to go to their YES, We Won't site and read their usual babble about what they won't be doing. And much better to get the real dope on this outfit of 'Peace'crat misfits, check out this reportage about their national get together ... Antiwar organizing in the Obama era by Ashley Smith and Eric Ruder reporting on the debates at the national convention of United for Peace and Justice.

‘Patriotic’ pacifists and ‘Peace’crats to hold UFPJ lobbyfest gathering in Chicago

United for Peace and Justice (UFPJ) will be holding a gathering in Chicago next week to start their plans for a 2009 Lobbyfest of Barack Obama. They still haven't figured any of it out and most likely never will. Ostensibly the UFPJ has not decided on doing anything just yet and the gathering is for the group to supposedly decide just what should be done? That's all a big joke since the Democratic Party and liberal Christian group controlled leadership of the UFPJ has but just one strategy, and that is to try to make themselves 'heard' by the Powers that be (though they refuse to try to mobilize any power of their own). They are like beggars of a sort, who will be pleading with Barack, Hillary, and Gates for some bones of recognition. They promise not to talk too much about imperialism, Afghanistan, Somalia, and anything else of dispute, say like... torture use by the US military, the US threatening Russia with nuclear weapons, Iraq, or US military made pollution... and the list goes on of none issues to these people., or the issues they just plain out want people not to be talking about. The UFPJ are the 'patriotic' Democratic Party liberal middle class voters and churchly pacifists, whose 'eyes are wide open' onto the boots of several thousand US soldiers, but not much on the damage these soldiers actually did to other peoples. They voted for 'change', but they're not too pressured about when it comes, where it comes from, or even if it will ever come? A pretty word or two from their Democratic Party gurus will keep most of them totally satisfied for years. YES, the UFPJ will want to go lobby this new year, and that's what they will project doing though they will smokescreen it with some sort of 'national week' of blah, blah, blah, etc. These are the very same folk that always say that large demonstrations don't work, so just go out and vote DP. Don't expect a change of heart from them, or any insight. How happy they are at the success of that profoundly absurd strategy they must be with the New Administration? The more abjectly they get thrown to the side by Power, the more committed they get to their own masochistic policy of turning out the vote.... to always vote for those who will ignore them, piss on them, and marginalize them as much as they can. The UFPJ has even been offered a challenge by other antiwar activists to give up their sectarianism and come together with others to help build national and unified demonstrations against the war. That is anathema to the UFPJ leadership though, and we should expect absolutely nothing from them that would help bring that about. They're sticking with the Democrats come rain or shine, and come the

US corporations foist religious pacifism on Palestinians and not on Israelis

The US corporate community does big business annually with the Jewish Israeli military-industrial armaments crew to the tune of billions per year, but then turns around and funds religious pacifist values off onto the oppressed Palestinians! U.S. steers young Palestinians to pacifism by Karin Laub, Associated Press Now doesn't that just take the cake? You can bet, too, that the US 'Peace'crats just lap this stuff up, just like many do with their often playing along with the military's 'We're Green Campaign'. There is a long tradition of the rich and powerful funding religion and therefore religious pacifism off and onto the oppressed. Throw on a heavy dose of the salt of sanctimonious babble, ala the Pope, and you get a pacified community if the recipe is cooked right. Voila! Fait Accompli now being served!

STATEMENT BY NATIONAL ASSEMBLY TO END THE IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN WARS AND OCCUPATIONS

STATEMENT BY NATIONAL ASSEMBLY TO END THE IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN WARS AND OCCUPATIONS Issued 10/23/08 SUPPORT CALL FOR UNITED MASS MOBILIZATIONS IN MARCH, 2009 IN WASHINGTON , D.C. AND OTHER CITIES The National Assembly to End the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars and Occupations welcomes the ANSWER Coalition's call for UNITED mass mobilizations in Washington, D.C. and other cities, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and Miami, on March 21, 2009, marking six years of war and occupation and demanding Bring All the Troops Home Now! We also welcome UFPJ's call for a week of Washington , D.C. mobilizations during the same period to demand an end to the war in Iraq now. These actions are necessary and need not be contradictory, as long as there is unity in supporting them. However, a divided movement is a weakened movement. At this time, more than ever, the movements for peace and social justice must work in concert to bring the full force of opposition to the government's criminal and destructive policies into the streets. It would be a tragic setback if all organizations and constituencies do not come together to act in a unified show of strength and determination in March. The National Assembly to End the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars and Occupations was formed to promote a united, democratic, independent and mass action antiwar movement to bring the troops home now. Our objective was to do all in our power to achieve this by the Spring of 2009. It now appears that this critical objective is within reach. We strongly urge and will participate in the formation of an ad hoc national coalition to make the March 21 actions a true expression of the opposition of this country's majority to U.S. wars and occupations. The National Assembly will make every effort to bring such a coalition into fruition and to urge all Assembly supporters to actively participate in the proce See National Assembly to End the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars and Occupations for more info.

Iraq speaks up: Get Out, Occupiers!

How many times have I heard the words from Democratic Party type liberal smurfs, saying that demonstrations supposedly accomplish nothing? Yet how to explain that the Iraqis seem to think otherwise and just held a huge demonstration in Baghdad under conditions that Americans cannot even begin to imagine having for themselves? Iraqis stage mass anti-US rally. Unlike do-nothing Americans, Iraqis seem to see value in holding mass demonstrations to show the world how they feel about US troops continuing to promote slaughter in their country. And they are right to do so. These demonstrations, in their case, are part of supporting armed struggle to resist the imperialist invaders. Holding mass demonstrations in our country, too, would work toward the goal of regaining national sovereignty away from others.

American death squads and torture in Somalia

Why are Americans so uninterested in what their government does in their name in Somalia? We certainly have shit loads of good liberal folk running around in circles demanding that the US government intervene militarily in Sudan, do we not? But we have a virtually total silence about what the US is doing to the Somali people. More blowback from the war on terror Why is that? One local example is how the church folk over at the Colorado Springs so-called Justice and Peace Center have never shown any signs of interest in helping fight to stop this US war which is becoming genocidal in nature. It's off their hypocritical lips altogether. They just received a $1600 grant from a local church, but don't look to see any of that money put to uncovering the plight of Somalians for people here in Colorado Springs. It will all go to talking about their supposed commitment to 'non-violence' and love of Gandhi. Wonder if they would act the same if they were Somalians in their US-Ethiopian invaded Homeland? One rather doubts it. Here are pictures of All American troops in Somali, in an all Black country, fucking it all up. Now the US government has Black African mercenaries doing most of the dirty work for them.

Palin ready to start nuclear war with Russia

And you thought she had been told to shut up by her handlers! Instead, Sarah Palin is running her mouth and spilling the beans about the real direction that Dick Cheney already has the country moving in, and with Democratic Party silence and acquiescence. And that is not to mention the silence of the Democratic Party tied down US antiwar movement, too. Shame on us for allowing this to go on without any response! Palin takes hardline on Russian aggression Silence is Death.
