Near success of delegates for Ron Paul exposes electoral college as rigged
I want to give Ron Paul supporters their due. By their determination to advance their Republican candidate by hook or by crook, Team Ron Paul’s self-deputized delegates have exposed the US electoral college nomination process to be fixed. Isn’t it … Continue reading

Occupy Congress? Who is that really keeping occupied? You.
A number of my friends want to OCCUPY CONGRESS. Jan 17 Opening Day. I suppose every day might be appropriate to read our representatives the riot act, but doesn’t such an action perpetuate the delusion that our legislators ever listen? … Continue reading

Backing Obama when you know better
Overheard from a celebrated activist who normally advocates direct-action over electoral wait-and-see, having joked that voting only encourages false expectations: “I voted for Obama, but after he renewed the Patriot Act, I vowed never to vote again.” (Applause.) “But … Continue reading

National Assembly is antiwar exclusively
Reports are emerging from July’s National Assembly, the vital effort to unite antiwar forces into a common movement. Delegates from the major peace organizations hammered out a strategy to address Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Palestine. Missing from the consensus? Nonviolence, … Continue reading

To Recreate 68 at the Denver DNC is not a call to incite a Rumble in the Jungle
I hope we can recreate 68. Let’s break through the media moratorium on the social issues important to us. Let’s remind the TV populace that we want to hold at least our Democratic Party politicians accountable to listen to our needs. Official channels do not permit people to raise their voices above a silent consent. The DNC in August, in Denver, is opportunity knocking in the streets. Continue reading
