Canadian pharmaceutical billionaires executed. Can Americans import that?

William Jennings Bryan said "No one can earn a million dollars honestly." He was riffing Balzac: "Behind every great fortune is a great crime." Big Pharma billionaires Barry and Honey Sherman stole $3.2 billion via a string of great crimes. Last month the unfortunate couple was found bound and strangled in their home in an apparent murder suicide. Investigators have now concluded it was an execution, the work of a "group". A people's revolutionary tribunal maybe? That idea could be another Canadian import that the One Percent are probably anxious to keep out of the American public's grubby hands.

WWII vet, age 92, finally diagnosed with PTSD why, because we care?

Sgt. Stanley Friedman, a 92 yr-old veteran of the WWII North African campaign, was finally diagnosed with PTSD. Pro bono lawyers couldn't even verify his service records, but after sixty years of denying his claims, the VA has at last been forced to grant Friedman compensation. Is this really the result of crafty legal work, at long last, or of a PR climate now overrun by Big Pharma, whose PTSD drug market windfall needed a poster boy for the baby boomer set, the type of veteran Americans favor over those from less "good" wars?

Johannes Mehserle, free, Eli Lilly employees, scot free, Pop Stars doctor, Jailed.

Only, the PIG Johannes Mehserle deliberately shot Oscar Grant, in the back, while Mr Grant was face down on the sidewalk, with the 200 pound PIG Johannes Mehserle kneeling on him. Mr Grant was also already handcuffed. The PIG Johannes Mehserle claimed he though he had his Taser instead of his double-action (rare) Sig-Sauer automatic pistol and was tasering Mr Grant. Why taser a handcuffed man in the first place? Because PIGS, like Johannes Mehserle and every other uniformed badge, are sadistic and sexually enjoy the pain of others, especially when the Others are helpless. Yeah, I do think that of cops. Cops beat it into me, while I was handcuffed and on occasion wile strapped into chairs, for talking bad about them and "hurting their feelings". Awwww... Poor widdle cwybaby PIGS. What will you do, beat it out of me? While I'm handcuffed of course because you would never engage in equal combat. There are fewer than a million website references to Johannes Mehserle. How many do you think would be about the Doctor? I'm deliberately not feeding the bear on this... Ready, set, GOOGLE! Ooops... more than 72 million in a tenth of a second. Pushing dope with a doctorate usually doesn't get you any jail time. Ask Eli Lilly and company, thousands of doctorates in their company and almost as many lawyers. Lawyers who make sure the doctors don't go to jail for KILLING people with drugs such as Zyprexa, which by the company admission over a DECADE ago actually causes and exacerbates inflammations of the liver, kidneys and pancreas, as in: Instant Diabetes How many Eli Lilly employees are serving time or have felony records for that? NOT A SINGLE ONE. The doctor/dealer/candy man is being pilloried by people, many of whom protested the murder of Oscar Grant, and one helluvalotta more who protested against so much as an Investigation into the actions of Johannes Mehserle or any other killer kop. The ones who are Back The Badge morons are the ones who scream loudest that the Doctor should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Deliberate murder by Cops? Not a problem, according to the so-called Law and Order fanatics. ("WE make the Laws and YOU obey our orders, or we'll kill you!") A truly accidental homicide? 72 million web comments. It had to be accidental, drug dealers seldom deliberately kill the people who lay the golden egg. The Gossip "news" shows, tabloids in electronic form actually, and the actual tabloids, plus the "legitimate" press and broadcast news, have been on this issue like Stink on Shit since day one. With not-quite insinuations that the doctor was guilty from day one. No poisoning the jury pool there, no sir! When they preface the Slander Session with "Every accused is innocent until proven guilty, of course" I automatically cringe. It's like hearing "well, if he had done nothing wrong, why would the police investigate him?" "If you've done nothing wrong, why should you fear the gestapo, citizen?" or "I'm

Border wars of the drug cartels, ours

So, on Telemundo the "Border War" rhetoric took some serious hits which I cheerlessly predict the Minutemen, Tea Party and other klan groups are going to spend a lot of time, corporate money and hot air trying to patch. La Migra admitted that they are losing the border, contrary to what the Republican puppet Partido Accion Nacional predicted when they  sold the Socialist economy of Mexico, and the future of the people to Anglo-American Cartels.  Two decades of capitalist "reform" have left the land and water poisoned, a lab-created mutant corn displacing the native strains which have existed thousands of years before the English existed as an organized society, the price of food, fuel, medical care have skyrocketed.... They WERE subsidized by the Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) national oil company.  "Oh NO!!" scream the "Free" marketeers... "Socialism must fail, partly because we spent so much other People's Money and Military Power (composed of Other People's Sons) pressuring it to fail!! So now, those fleeing the newly created Capitalist Wasteland to feed their families are forced into a system of Immigration Control led and mandated by Racist hate groups.  Who also happen to be funded by the same foaming at the mouth capitalists who ruined their homeland.  And who feed their hate filled minions on the rage of people whose lives Here were torn down by the "Capital Cartel," who sell the most dangerous and lethal drugs know to man, and the worst of the all is Greed. The delusion that through faithful, arduous and low-wage servitude to the Cartel, and investing those wages back, they, too, might aspire to wealth. They sold the same line of shit to the Mexicans.  In the two decades of NAFTA privatization, Poverty has grown, hugely, in both the U.S. and Mexico.  So has "illegal" immigration, and the poisonous hatred of murderous Terrorist groups like the Minutemen. Thus to the next area of the web of Right-Wingnut Lies. Drug Cartels.  Here we have a people whose subsistence Crops, corn for instance, have been displaced by plantations owned by the corporate partners Accomplices of British Petroleum, Exxon-Mobile, Monsanto...  Mutant corn with genetic material from squid spliced in, to feed the chemically altered cattle, hogs and chickens, which make up the unhealthy American McDiet. To make "High Fructose Corn Syrup" which doesn't chemically match the equally lethal processed cane sugar, but Provides the human body the signal to store calories as fat.  And the signals to make more insulin, which is chemically geared through the two million years of normal diet to carbohydrates such as in honey. The people of Mexico eat corn.  No, no, I mean they EAT corn.  And all the indigenous peoples from Canada to Tierra del Fuego having their dietary staples being displaced by the U.S. led McFake-food corporate McDiet.  Poisoning other nations to enable poisoning us.  John the Baptist's diet of locust and honey was much healthier than ours. So they run to other crops, local favorites like hemp and coca, introduced crops like opium.  What they can grow in the land not

The spreading wave of Democracy… threatens Oil Companies.

To the point that Oil Corporation workers in Bahrain and throughout the Persian Gulf, North Africa and the Indian Ocean are on high alert. The people there know which side of their toast is buttered and they're plenty swoll about being ripped off, enslaved, targeted by Oil Company hired goons like the Blackwater Thug assassins, Drone Operators bombing them from secret rooms halfway around the world: Video Gamers who were recruited from living in their moms' basement with the promise that they can Kill Humans for real and not face any consequences or put their own cowardly lives in danger. Now the oilfields, refineries and shipyards of the world are under security lockdown. The ever-nearby British-American military bases also in danger. The tactics-- IEDs, car bombs, hijacked airplanes? nope. People. There have been reports throughout the long long long Imperial Wars of the Imperial Stormtroopers being fired on by the Imperial-armed Slave Soldiers of the local provinces. BP and the old Standard Oil allegedly broken up, Exxon-Mobil, Chevron, Texaco, Gulf.. getting back together again just in time... They've spent trillions of other people's dollars (guilders, francs, marks and pounds too) and hundreds of millions of other peoples' lives and more than a century of time building up their Business Empire or Empire Business whichever term better suits. The Slave Rebellion that can overthrow the Empire, People. Pure and simple. Their fellow slaves in the Provincial Armies and police forces, even in the Home Provinces of the Emperors, like America and England, joining in with their fellow slaves, tired of fighting their fellow Working Class at the orders of the Big Boss Man. Only to be spat upon, despised, and impoverished by their Masters. Such has happened in Wisconsin. And now, in Denver, and Colorado Springs, workers are coming together to support their brethren, across America and around the world. The Imperial Powers love ignorance, they love an uneducated populace, and have fought hard to dismantle Public Education, Public Communications Systems like PBS, NPR, and the Internet. Cut and cut and cut but they weren't fast enough. Now, just when they were close to their goal of privatized access to anything, especially information... from deciding who would be allowed to attend school to who can say what on the airwaves, and even on the Internet, "Freedom of the Press but only for those who own the presses". Wham, Bam, Jan25 comes along, Wikileaks, and the base of the Imperial Wealth, the provinces and satrapies, where the "president" or "prime minister" or even "king" of each, including America and Britain, was just a provincial governor appointed by the Empire and tolerated only as long as he or she did the bidding of the Empire. All these latifundium slaves from beggar to so-called Kings, under the supposedly unbreakable grip of the Empire, have a window of opportunity. The Empire is collapsing under the weight of its wealth and greed, now is the time for everybody to get out from under their landing zone. Let the Giant fall but don't be under

The Memorial Park Grenade and Drugs

The CS Fuzz Dept isn't squeaking very loudly about the grenade they found at Prospect Lake a couple of days ago. There's ways to make a booby trap from a hand grenade, take one and set it down, prop a rock onto it and set the rock on a small stick, so the rock will fall off if the stick is disturbed, lots of ways to make the stick fall out. Test the rig to make sure. assemble it and extract the safety pin then leave, and never go back. That doesn't seem to be the case with the Lake Grenade. But it's Apparently a U.S. Army hand grenade of which there are several types, standard enough in triggering style, weight and size of the device, many made by an Israeli based firm called LGB Ltd. The cops would have a database on who supplies them. NOW... Drugs. The numbers are numbers of deaths attributed to various causes., Tobacco 435,000, Diet/Lifestyle 365,000, Alcohol 75,000, Accidental exposure to toxins 55,000 ALL Illicit drugs, direct and indirect 17,000 Aspirin, Tylenol, Midol, Motrin 7000 Cannabis 0 Some results omitted, like prescription drugs. Homicide, Suicide and Gun Related deaths naturally overlap. But there's Innkeeper laws that hold bartenders responsible if they allow an intoxicated patron to drive away. There's homicide laws that hold the supplier of the drugs responsible if the product causes the death of a user. Charge would be Murder actually. Somebody building a home-made grenade or gun would be charged with various wordings of Making an Infernal Device. Manufacturers of small arms, hand grenades, rifles, pistols-Not liable. Tobacco manufacturers-not liable Fat Food Restaurants who encourage patrons to eat more calories in one meal than they need in a week, and discourage walk-up or Bicycle up Business (try riding a bicycle in the Drive Thru lane at McToxins, they'll call the pigs on you, and the Pigs will gladly serve their Corporate Masters) Not Liable. Prescription drug overdoses and accidental mis-dosing and toxicity, Bayer, Baxter, Abbott, Lilly, ... not liable. The manufacturer of the Prospect Lake Grenade... not liable. The corporations who put out the small arms also put out propaganda designed to provoke, incite and prolong wars, mass murder actually, yet they're not liable. Their Propaganda Protectors at (worst offender, there are others) Fox HateSpeech Networks make sure they get to sell their Death Products AND create the market for them, uninterrupted by any silly little old laws like Thou Shalt Not Kill. United States religious leaders can incite their followers to wars with impunity, tell their followers that the sixth commandment actually doesn't include wars or death penalty, Because They Say So and if you question their holy word you're an antichrist and a blasphemer. They tell their followers that if somebody dies while killing for them, in their Holy Crusade, that person goes immediately to Heaven to enjoy the blessings and adoration of God and all His host. Somebody saying a mirror image of that same statement AGAINST the "crusaders" is judged as a terrorist and can be (according

Sleeping drug manufacturer: Injuries caused by patients’ fault, not drug

They cite patients using other drugs in combination, including Alcohol, saying "Frankly, the patients need to be more honest." They also cited the Internet getting the information into the hands of the Patients (who the company prefers would remain ignorant, shut up and do exactly what they're told) for providing information on side effects, APPARENTLY so the patients can have the information needed to sue when the Drug screws them up.

George Will’s vocabulary outshines him

COLORADO SPRINGS- Some people look smaller in person than they do on TV. Many of us only know George Will from newsprint, but in person he's an organ grinder's monkey, amusingly agile, if a little threatening, but basically smallish and tethered to somebody asking for money. Maybe it was my perspective from the steep audience seating in the South Theater of CC's new Cornerstone Arts Center. Maybe it was looking down at George as he walked in circles between folksy baseball anecdotes, over-simplified economics and patronizing criticism of the American culture of entitlement. I wanted to ask how a gentleman of his obvious acuity got any pleasure from addressing audiences like they were idiots. People who applauded him, by the way, and laughed at the slightest old joke. "Half of all students are of below average intelligence." Hahahahaha. "I'm glad you got that one." Hahahahaha. I remember a professor I had in an advanced math class who used to berate us undergrads for the time he had to waste with us. Tonight's audience was filled to overflow with Colorado Springs' better-heeled hayseeds, but George Will seemed perfectly at home. Will's "reflections on the 2008 election" consisted of the usual horse race stats about which states have to be won by whom in order to satisfy the probabilities of precedent. "History is consistent after all," he was attributing this adage to someone I think, "right up until the moment it isn't." Hahahaha. Numbers and groups of states, etc. The next president may again win the necessary electoral votes and loose the popular vote. As a gesture to the college age portion of tonight's audience, Will offered that all the statistical stars were lining up for a Democratic win in November, but to his contemporaries in the theater Will later confided that he didn't consider Obama ready to lead. He also opined that Sarah Palin would provide a refreshing change to Washington DC. Thankfully the Pulitzer Prize rewardee soon wrapped up his election year remarks and got back on the horse he undoubtedly had been commissioned to ride. Scold Americans for their entitlement mentality and convince them to privatize Social Security. There followed a Libertarian mocking of all social responsibility, and an incredible stretching of credulity seeing the absence of ready rebuttal. Take for example, Big Pharma. George Will applauds Big Pharma and the obscene profits they reap. Those profits are only appropriate, he says, considering the tremendous costs the pharmaceuticals bear with R&D and the circumnavigation of regulations. Really George? Profit is the product of income minus expense. You want to count the expenses twice? One might compare profit against expense in the light of risk, but wouldn't that be to beg the definition of "obscene" profits, considering none have reported obscene losses? Will chastised the growth of the Agricultural Department citing the narrowing ratio of Ag employees to American Farmers, without referencing the precipitous rise of Big Agra and the eclipse of family farms. Of course, entitlement programs were the chief evil, while no mention

Tim Russert a victim of misinformation

The endless hand-wringing and speculating are making me nauseated. That Tim Russert died unexpectedly of a heart attack was not, or shouldn't have been, unexpected. Tim Russert had both diabetes and heart disease. Tim Russert was on blood pressure and cholesterol medications. Tim Russert was following his doctor's admonition to exercise daily and watch his diet. None of these prescriptions did a damn bit of good prolonging his life. Obviously. So who's to blame? The doctors were merely dispensing good sound advice as taught to them in their Big Pharma Schools of Profit-Generation, more commonly referred to as medical school. The pharmacists were fulfilling their oath of office to faithfully lick, stick, count and pour -- never question. Big Pharma was doing what they always do, maximizing profit with egregious disregard for truth. But, as per usual, the most culpable is the whore known as the FDA. If anyone would've told Tim Russert to keep his homocysteine levels low -- homocysteine causes plaque to stick to artery walls and can lead to hardening of the arteries -- by loading up on B vitamins, he'd likely be here today. If health professionals would have told him that the number one cause of sudden-death heart attacks is magnesium deficiency -- magnesium prevents blood clots, dilates blood vessels, and can stop the development of dangerous heart irregularities -- and that cardiac patients and diabetics are most at risk for this, he'd likely be here today. If his doctor would've told him that regular vigorous exercise produces free radicals that attack healthy cells and often does more harm than good, he'd likely be here today. What's most likely is that Tim Russert never heard any of this. The drug companies know these things. But, of course, there is no money to be made by enlightening the public about vitamins and minerals. No treadmills to be sold by championing an evening walk or morning yoga. We can't expect soulless bureaucrats to do the right thing. But we can expect our government to safeguard our interests. The FDA needs to start funding pure research, with only knowledge as its goal, to discover natural solutions to our many health woes. The FDA needs to watch over our food supply so that it isn't stripped of vitaimin and mineral content for the benefit of corporate interests alone. The FDA should extract fees from pharmaceutical companies to pay the salaries of independent ethical researchers. And the FDA should ensure that doctors and the public understand simple paths to good health. Don't get your hopes up. Without public pressure, and we're too uneducated to even know what to press for, there won't be any positive change. We'll continue to be shocked by sudden deaths, scared by known unknowns, comforted by Big Pharma minions who ramp up their efforts to catch a silent killer before it strikes again. And the beat goes on. For some of

The Cancer Cartel at work again

I don't know how many of you are women's basketball fans, but just in case you missed last weekend's action, most of the top-ranked college teams played their games bedecked from head to toe in pink uniforms, compliments of Nike. The Think Pink initiative is a global, unified effort of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) to raise breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. More than 800 universities participated in some capacity in the event which happened to coincide with ESPN's 'February Frenzy' of games. Fans of the game were encouraged to don pink in support of the cause. Now, I don't know if you've seen a typical women's basketball fan, but I can assure you that pink is not her favorite color. However, like the rest of us, she's always willing to do her part in the fight against breast cancer. During last week's action, in addition to the play-by-play reminder of breast cancer, fans were repeatedly encouraged to give generously to the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund. We were told that we must band together to stop this ruthless killer of women. Yes, we surely surely must. My question is why didn't Nike just write a big check to the fund and be done with it? We could've actually WATCHED the Rutgers-Tennessee game, a rematch of last year's NCAA final; the fund would have its money; more "research" could be done; big Pharma and their minion-surgeons could have their pin money; big food could keep fucking with the food supply so that these fundraisers will always be necessary. And Nike will be at the ready to supply gear for each of them, swoosh color negotiable. Even more importantly, more women would be convinced to cough up money for an annual mammogram, more biopsies of benign tissue would be done and, in the process, even more of them would get cancer from the large, very unnatural and unhealthy, doses of radiation they regularly receive. I mean, let's forget that one of the world's foremost authorities on radiation, John W. Gofman, (MD, PhD, Professor Emeritus at UC-Berkeley--no hack, this guy), estimates that 75% of breast cancer cases could be prevented by avoiding exposure to the ionizing radiation of mammography and x-rays. Sounds like a win-win for everyone. Except, of course, the people who are supposedly benefiting by thinking pink. Maybe next year they could really get everyone's attention, not just basketball fans, by naming the campaign Think Dead. Just a thought.
