Tennessee Firefighters watch house burn down

This is what we can expect when Mayor Lyin’ Hell Rivera and his cronies privatize city services like the thieving bitches are going to tell us at next Monday’s budget announcement.
One of the fire-non-fighters said that it’s an example of “robust Christianity, rather than that sappy effeminate version of Christianity where people help each other”. Well, you KNOW that got my blood pumping. First off, the guy came off as being really insecure about his own masculinity. And rather than coming out of his closet, he tries to “drag” Jesus in with him.
Let’s take it a notch further. Why not have the police be on a for-pay basis? Anybody who can’t afford police protection, too bad so sad. Make it even better, have fully privatized “police” auxiliary groups like the Minutemen patrol, and people who DON’T pay up, well, they must have something to hide, so let’s just drag them down to the court, which of course will be a pay-for-play proposition too, can’t afford an attorney? Too bad, you should have planned ahead and been born rich.

And if bad people dress up like the Private “police” and just break into your house and rob you at gunpoint, then the Real Minutemen Private “police” will investigate, if you pay their fee. What’s that? The Bad Wicked Naughty “pretend” private police took all your money so you can’t pay that fee? Awww… too bad, maybe we can get Glenn Beck or his Zombie followers to lecture you about Christianity. For a fee of course.

Which brings it back to the Other Side, the nonsensical non-secular non sequitur about Jesus telling the closet case Mucho Macho “christian” to torch the place errr Watch it burn to “teach the punk a lesson about paying up”.

(By the way, that’s Rural Tennessee, means the guy whose house they Burned Down errr… watched it burn down, was probably their cousin.)

See, the anonymous Rich Man from the Lazarus parable, he wasn’t in Hell for having no compassion on Lazarus, O good Heavens No!

He was in Hell for being effeminate and not calling the cops and locking his dumpster to keep that bum Lazarus from eating a free meal.

And the Samaritan, helping that fellow who got robbed and beaten and left laying in the ditch, he should have just gone right up to the fellow, kicked him in the face and told him it was his own fault for not hiring the local Minutemen to guard him. Then walk away laughing.

And that Jesus dude, What The Hell?

DYING for people who couldn’t possibly pay Him? Damn, He must have been a really effeminate sissy-boy. Probably had long hair and didn’t wear pants either. Or boots. Bet He had sandals or something sissy like that.

The ConservaTards like Glenn TeaTard Beck and Ms Stupid Sarah are all on the side of the Redneck Assholes who watched one of their cousins get burned out of his house.
From Macho Christian Values.

But that’s what we’re going to have if Mayor Rivera, Doug Bruce and all the others who want to use the “invisible hand” of the free market to take away any kind of Equal Protection from the Poor, and only their Very Rich Parasite Class Cronies will have any kind of city services.

Contaminants in the runoff water

Seems they predate the Homeless Camping debate by at least a decade. One of the problems that was present when the City and County of Pueblo sued Colorado Springs for fouling their water, e-coli. Seems Colorado Springs and Springs Utilities reached a plea-bargain mitigating the judgment against the Springs by making necessary repairs to the sewage system. This includes that bad ol’ StormWater that the right wingsters keep whining about. The wastewater treatment facilities were overwhelmed on several levels, not the least of which were the BlowHard Extremists like Douglas Bruce not wanting to pay their bills. Have their cake, eat it too, and then have somebody else pay for the cake.

The sewer system including the Storm Drains, which funnel water off the streets, which in turn are coated with an oily residue from the exhaust fumes. More cars, more pavement, more pollution and all of it running into a sewage treatment system last upgraded in the early 1960s. 50 years ago. More streets, more infrastructure added on, and each year the cost of the labor and the materials needed to build and maintain that infrastructure increasing, yet Doug Bruce and his dumbass Zombie Followers insist on only paying the bills in 1972 dollars. And screaming that increasing the fees necessary to maintain that infrastructure and build new infrastructure to accommodate those victims of the Real Estate Scam of “Pure Rocky Mountain Spring Water” moving to town and making the water somewhat less pure.

Lethally less pure.
Some of the impurities in Fountain Creek before the confluence with Monument Creek keep the smelly algae that makes Monument stink so bad from growing. Also any other algae, insect larvae, and amphibian newts, efts and tadpoles.
N-Nitrosodimethylamine, likely sources:Industry, cosmetics, toiletry products, cleansers; by-product of natural chemical reactions. That’s the one Springs Utilities admits is beyond EPA and drinking water safety bounds.

Chemicals they say are in “safe amounts” Barium, Bromodichloromethane
Chlorodibromomethane
Chloroform
Fluoride
Hexachlorocyclopentadiene
Nitrates
Radium, Combined 226 228
Sodium,
Turbidity (muddiness)
Uranium
Chlorine
Maloacetic Acids
Trihalomethanes
Coliform (bacteria)
E-Coli (the coliform bacteria they’re blaming on the Homeless People, before that it was the pigeons in Manitou Springs)
Copper
Lead

A lot of the “possible sources of contamination” listed are Erosion of native deposits.

Erosion hastened by destroying topsoil, uprooting native plants, GRADING FOR ROADS, COMMERCIAL AND HOUSING CONSTRUCTION, MINING, QUARRYING, DRILLING, TIMBER CLEARING, OFF-ROAD “RECREATIONAL” VEHICLE USE
For instance, there’s at least one defunct copper mine just outside Manitou Springs city limits that drains directly into Fountain Creek.

When you pull ONE metal out of the earth, it’s not in pure form, ever, is it, O Right Wing Mining Geniuses Who Think I Can’t Possibly Know Anything? Nay verily. It is NOT pure and some of those impurities are other metals. Toxic metals like Uranium, White Arsenic, Sodium in many forms including Sodium Cyanide, Mercury, Lead, Copper, ooops that’s one they INTENDED to pull out oopsie my bad. Petrochemicals, mountaintop removal for extracting ANY mineral including coal releases chemicals into the waters that have recently been shown to cause a hormonal mutation in small-mouth bass where the male fish develop with female characteristics. That’s a predator that’s below us on the arbitrarily defined “food chain”. We’re top-level predators. Through predation the chemical impurities concentrate higher and higher the further up the food chain you go.

In the Hudson Bay region of Canada, Inuit and other First Nations mothers can’t breast feed their infants because of the concentrations of Petrochemicals from oil exploration and exploitation, which would be lethal to their babies. I can almost hear the Racist Wing saying

“ah,who cares about Eskimo and Injun babies, they’re only one step removed from wetbacks and niggers anyhow!”

Fortunately I’ve got something within me that blocks such ignorance. It’s called “education” but I once again digress.

What, then, is the City of Colorado Springs putting into the water supply of everybody downstream from us? Which, since Pikes Peak is the highest point in the Contiguous 48, that means everybody from the Mississippi west to the Pacific.

All because the TeaTards don’t want to pay their fair share. They make huge stacks of money creating the problem but demand that the people downstream from us pay THEIR money to remove the contaminations caused by the Pikes Peak area Industrialists.

There’s one thing more that is pumping toxins into Fountain Creek. The Toxic Mining/refining Waste Dump called Gold Hill Mesa on the south side of Highway 24 here in Colorado Springs.

Chrome dioxide, Mercury, Sodium Cyanide, White Arsenic, Lead Sulfate, Uranium, Barium, just a start on the contaminants.

There are more that get added in further downstream, but the True Source is the interconnected web of Industrial Polluters who own, among other Political Arenas, the Political Establishment of Colorado Springs.

Further “ammunition” in the War on American Health, Ft Carson and the Air Academy Firing Ranges. From Mercury Fulminate, a standard primer/detonator in explosive munitions, to the Depleted Uranium shells which has caused, among other disorders The Army Ain’t Gonna Tell You About, two headed children in Iraq.

They’ll tell you that it’s none of our business what kind of poisonous SHIT they’re inflicting on us and our kids. Then in 2003 they admitted only that they use the same ammunition in practice firing that they would use for the Global War On Anybody Who Doesn’t Submit To The Will Of The Capitalist Regime Or Lick Their Jackboots.

Then they say that the Depleted Uranium is encased in steel and thus couldn’t possibly break into small pieces and contaminate water, soil, and the Eco-Genetic Systems of entire populations of plants and animals, including people. To make a long story short, they lie their collective ass off.
Just like their accomplices in the Colorado Springs and United States political establishments and the Colorado Springs real estate developers, bankers, and other perpetrators of massive, lethal fraud.

But they’re still blaming it on the Homeless PEOPLE.

Oh, and that sewage treatment system that’s overwhelmed with Stormwater and far more raw human and animal fecal waste than it could possibly handle?

Was never fixed and now, thanks to the “Tax Cutter” extremist “Hell no, We Won’t Pay Our Bills!” Tea Party. Everybody who owes THEM money had better God-Damn pay up or they’ll get the Publicly Funded Colorado Springs Police and Judiciary PIGS to punish him.

Slumlord Ex-Prosecutor PIG Doug Bruce especially does that.

But they don’t have to pay their bills, Glenn Beck and Doug Bruce and Sarah Palin and The Ghosts of Reagan and John Wayne tell us the constitution forbids them to pay THEIR debts.

The data on contaminants in the water as provided by Springs Utilities, are found in this document, which you can get free at Springs Utilities offices and they mailed it out to every water customer. If you live in a water-bill paid apartment you didn’t get one, your landlord did and he’s supposed to post it where everybody can read it.

The Army and Air Force contaminants, including jet fuel, are all over the place. Military Aircraft used to have, they say it’s discontinued, a policy that they dump fuel before landing. Standard Operational Procedure with the reason being that they had a high probability of coming in damaged, and having a hard landing with a full tank of fuel not only endangers the pilot and passengers, it endangers everybody on or near the flight line. A simple way to ease that problem would be to, Hey, just don’t go around shooting at or Bombing the living dogshit out of people and it minimizes the chance they’ll be shooting at YOU. DUH!

The other bit, about the DU armor piercing shells, the admission is implicit. The Army did say in the specific case of Ft Carson, that they do use the same ammunition in practice fire they’ll use in actual combat. That means, obviously, DU. At the time they said this, they were actively lying and saying there was no way DU shells could cause Uranium Poisoning. They’ve since been forced into the open on that one, thanks SOLDIERS AND AIRMEN WHO DEFIED ORDERS TO KEEP SILENT ABOUT THE MASSIVE CRIME OF POISONING AMERICAN AND FOREIGN CIVILIANS and soldiers, the same way they did with Agent Orange and killed more people in the cover-ups than would have died if they’d simply come clean and stopped the poisoning.

Who’s pushing for a Colorado Springs mayor impervious to the will of voters?

COLORADO SPRINGS- News on the local election PR front: The Strong Mayor ballot measure is now being pitched as the “Elected Mayor” initiative. Perhaps quite a few voters in Colorado Springs might easily be convinced that we don’t have that already, rationalizing that Mayor Lionel Rivera could not possibly reflect the community’s best.

I ran into a friend of mine downtown this morning, working on a commercial shoot to interview supporters of the aforementioned mayoral reform. They were consulting people on the street, in theory, and he asked if I’d like to be interviewed.

I laughed, “you don’t want me, I’m absolutely against it.”

“You don’t want an elected mayor” he asked.

“I’d prefer an entire city council be held accountable to its constituents. How is that less democratic than a lone ‘elected’ mayor? Right now, the developers and business cronies have to back a whole council worth of officials. They want the ‘strong mayor’ scenario so they’ll only have to buy one vote.”

A chatty tv-blonde local-news type who might have been rethinking fitting me up for a microphone chimed in “Wow, I’ve never heard that perspective before.”

“Really?” I asked with earnestness meant to imbue my incredulity as a put-down.

“I’m from Denver” she answered by way of excusing her apolitical incuriosity, and she backed away.

Though it was a Denver Agency shooting the ad, a crew member immediately noted that one of the area’s wealthiest developers just passed by to get a coffee. As I left the scene, I clocked another tanned, linen-attired real-estate mogul on his cellphone, casually overseeing the shoot from the furthest table.

September, Fiscal Year, No Billion Dollars falling from the sky.

Budget time cometh. Three years ago, when Real Estate started to crap all over the economy, Rivera, our mayor for those who don’t speak Coloradospringsish… said that what the city needed was for a Billion Dollars to fall from the sky. That $42 Million he later turned down, because it was earmarked to stuff he didn’t think were priorities, like dinner parties for his Rich Sponsors to discuss how to redirect the rest of it to their bank accounts..
That would help a lot. But, it was “earmarked” so NO to the schools, the parks, the streetlights, the Cops and Fire and Ambulance, and especially NO to Bus Service. A bit of rumor hit my ears today.
Bus Service to be cut even further. Of course, any real announcement would be made after the election. When somebody else can take the heat, I suppose. The time frame spoken for the schedule, doesn’t even cover kids going home from school. Far less people who work a 9-to-5. So one more time the Working Class gets to bite the something or other in order for the Parasite Class to continue their Massive Theft Ventures.
I can almost understand Capitalists, Why SHOULD other people besides themselves get the goodies, and further, why should THEY, the ones who actually profit from Capital, Pay for the services only they get? It’s just not FAIR! Poor little Rich Bitches.
As for the ones who don’t profit from capital, as one third of Americans don’t, who work themselves further into debt because they’re not paid enough to cover the costs of producing their labor, we’re the ones who should pay the price for THEM to get services, and not them.

No, Citizen, it is our DUTY to support the Parasite class, for to claim a share of what we actually earn rather than feed it into the Greedy Maws of Capitalist Hogs and their sows and piglets… that would be SOCIALISM! and we all know that Socialism is purest evil. We know this because the Capitalists, who like the rest of us have never actually had or experienced a Socialist Economy on any more than a local level, pay spokes-freaks to tell us so.

There’s probably to be another rally downtown. Of course we know now, as we knew then, that the Arrogant Ones at City Hall won’t budget funds for anything but what makes their Rich Bitch buddies (and owners) richer.

One feels like Oliver Twist at the orphanage asking the docent for more gruel.

Mayor looks PETA gift horse in the tits

COLORADO SPRINGS- When our cash-wrung city decided to cut trash removal for municipal parks –if also to make it harder on the homeless camps– People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) famously stepped in with an offer to subsidize the service if we agreed to use their trash cans.

Bruised by national news accounts of our shuttered services and having to extinguish 1/3 of our traffic lights, Mayor Rivera accepted PETA’s offer.
Until he saw their message. Which element was it that was too risqué for conservative Hooter Springs: the lettuce-clad bikini girl? The call to go vegan? Or the trashing of the Tea Partier’s staple for what’s for dinner?

Ed Billings puts city council on Weebly

Springs’ own Guy Fawkes, aka union activist Ed Billings, has a website finally, named not unpredictably, Colorado Springs Sucks. His first salvo is aimed at Mayor Rivera and our city’s cutback of transportation services. Excerpt:

Mayor Jackass …er… I mean Mayor Lionel Rivera … wants Colorado Springs to be the best city in America to live and work. Doesn’t he know how many people will lose their jobs after January 1, 2010 because he and his third reich have just taken away our extended bus service? … Our bus service will only run Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 6:45 pm … Colorado Springs will have the highest unemployment in the United Stated thanks to Mayor Jackass and the third reich!

Treachery on the Springs City Council!

COLORADO SPRINGS- I have to admit dropping my guard on the TABOR issue yesterday after 5 out of 4 council members pledged on Monday to vote in favor of putting reform on the November ballot. Private citizens who testified before the council went home satisfied that the city had heeded their words. No such luck. On Tuesday when the official vote was taken, two of the members changed their vote to NO. Council woman Jan Martin and Mayor Lionel Rivera decided to reverse what they’d told the public they’d do.

I was most surprised to see Mayor Rivera presiding with his usual pomp. Alive and well. From local editorials I got the distinct impression the disgraced mayor was no longer even showing his face. Apparently being caught serving moneyed interests, does not shame our local bureaucrats. They’re in the pocket of developers, they know it and we know it. Putting it in print doesn’t inform anyone I guess.

Weiss TABOR reform has votes to pass!

larry small john weissCOLORADO SPRINGS- I attended a COS city council meeting today, lured by the prospect that Vice Mayor Larry Small was going to call the CS Independent publisher a liar to his face.

I’m always excited at the prospect of differences of opinion reaching a level of incivility. Do we care about these issues? Or is it all about liking each other, regardless who’s oppressing whom? We gentlemen debaters, after all, are never those affected by the injustices in question.

To the city’s credit, Small made it a point at the very start of the meeting to make a public apology. He and John Weiss shook hands and that was that. What’s more, he cast his vote with Weiss’s proposal, a deciding vote, to put repeal of the city’s TABOR restrictions on the next ballot.

Small is not saying he’s for it, simply considering that it might be germane to consult the voters. Where it stands, the city council members declared their intentions on how they will vote tomorrow, and 5-4, they intend to back the proposal.

Without any name calling.

That said, some pyrotechnics can very easily be a bore. For example, there were grunts from the peanut gallery at this meeting, in particular from ex-editorial page tyrant Sean Paige. The silver-locked loudmouth, now shilling for Local Liberty Action, sat in the back and harrumphed as Weiss gave his reasons for reforming TABOR. Although Paige is no longer with the Gazette, I’ve seen him gesticulating at local Teaparty rallies. Like his Norquesque mentors, the editorial bully is set on strangling the baby in the bathwater.

How satisfying then to see Paige grovel before city council to urge them “not to throw [his TABOR] baby out with the bath water.”

Paige spoke as if “TABOR proponents” need to be consulted in any ongoing discussions about reforming it. Just because those idiots got the law passed, and doomed municipalities to impoverished services, who is to say their voice should have a grandfather clause? Here’s a chance for city council to hear the cries of outrage from Colorado Springs residents who want the damn thing repealed. They want their public services back.

TABOR was an initiative which asserted that a citizen couldn’t trust their representatives with tax dollars. What does it mean to have councilmen say they “believe in TABOR.” They know they shouldn’t be trusted? Did they run for election on that slogan?

Here’s a chance for the city pols to grab the reins. What else are they supposed to be deciding at their jobs?

And they took it, with four dissenting opinions. First, Bernie Herpin, who doesn’t see any reason to rush to address TABOR’s ratchet lunacy.

Another no vote comes from Jerry Heimlicher. The meeting’s highlight was Councilman Jerry Heimlicher’s kiss-fest with Sean Paige. Let Westside voters who rejected Democrat Dave Gardner as an alternative, note what Heimlicher can be very obstinate when he’s decided he’d rather give in to the Teabaggers.

Two more NOs came from Glen and Purvis. Purvis took the chance to compare proponent Richard Skorman’s voice to the sound of a belt sander. He explained how Skorman had interrupted his weekend of fixing his deck.

Tom Gallagher was the councilman who brought the issue for his colleagues to decide. He spoke about how incredulous it was that he was siding with Weiss on an issue, and hesitated greatly to defy his conservative friends. “I live on their side of the playing field.” But he lead the support. With Hente, Small, Martin and Rivera joining him.

Did I say Rivera? Yes.

We all looked at each other in surprise, but there it was, Mayor Lionel Rivera saying he thought it was a capital idea to give the citizens of the city the last word on whether to reform TABOR.

Scott Hente made the day’s most noteworthy remark. He thanked the assembled crowd for having upheld a civil discourse. He was impressed that it was unlike the many town hall meetings he’s been seeing on the news. I took this to be acknowledgment that he recognized the sawdust floor populism emanating from Sean Paige’s back corner.

Colorado Springs city government once again says it will end police raids on Homeless camps

colorado springs homelessCOLORADO SPRINGS- Yesterday the CS municipal government, under the threat of an ongoing lawsuit, once again declared that it would end police raids on the Homeless. KKTV reports the following- ‘The Colorado Springs City Council voted in favor Tuesday on a plan to help the city’s homeless. The plan is being called the 10-Year Blueprint To Serve Every Homeless Citizen in the Pikes Peak Region. Tuesday’s vote follows the Council’s approval on Monday to adopt a new plan that includes giving homeless residents advanced warning of cleanups and using mental health workers to communicate with them during the sweeps. City officials placed a moratorium on homeless camp cleanups this fall after homeless advocates threatened to sue the city.’

Yes, well this 10 year city plan follows a previous 5 year city plan to supposedly end homelessness in the city, and that certainly did not occur. Actually, it is mandated that the city file a ‘plan’ such as this to be able to receive certain Federal monies, and the rhetoric is totally empty of any real meaning other than to latch onto those funds.

Many Homeless in the city say that the city has not actually ended these raids, but has merely made them more clandestine. Further, they say their biggest fear is not even these police raids, but the fact that there have been multiple sever beatings of the Homeless within city limits. The Homeless fear not only violent crime directed against them, but they also fear the lack of any significant police protection against these crimes. So the issues for the Homeless in the community is more than just one of police raids.

Further, the Homeless continue to complain of any lack of access to most social programs set up. This complaint is entirely in line with previous media reports of waits of over one month to get food stamps in the city area, and the inability to get through on the state’s initial line to file for Unemployment Benefits, which we wrote about just last week on this blog.

Luckily, the weather has been rather mild this Winter so that is the one silver lining these days for the local area Homeless population. The city does seem insistent on trying to harass the Homeless in this city to the max, but to just do it undercover. One note about the city government… was that the only city councilman to step out and meet with the people gathered outside the city meeting in protest against these city police raids was Councilman Jerry Heimlicher. Good for him! The mayor, Lionel Rivera tried to walk on by unnoticed. Si, Senor! Good thing the lawsuit remains on file at this point. These are slick people.

Is Barack Obama the Socialist candidate for President?

brian moore
Stephen Colbert and Brian Moore discuss the question of whether Barack Obama is actually the Socialist candidate for President of the United States. The conclusion between them was that Obama actually was not, but he seems a bit brighter than the real Socialist Party candidate for President actually appears to be.

That’s one more reason I do not plan to vote Socialist Party myself. My party’s candidate certainly is no later day Eugene Debs, and we have a long way to go to get back to that. However, I would vote for Moore becoming the Mayor of Colorado Springs against Lionel Rivera.

True, Lionel is for ‘socialism’, too, but for the benefit of Lockheed and the Pentagon. He’s for big government spending, PLUS he’s a dishonest lying creep. Mayor Moore, unlike Mayor Rivera, would have pushed for a municipal proposal condemning US government torture of POWs. Rivera blocked that proposal and instead talked about what a great job the troops were doing. Moore is not for using torture against other people, while Rivera is. In short, Rivera kind of has a way of turning people’s stomachs. He’s another Republican creep.

Torture by America, Mayor Lionel Rivera, and the Pikes Peak Justice and Peace Commission

The issue of how the US government under the Bush Administration, with the help of its Democratic Party and Republican Party collaborators, has legalized and openly allowed the use of torture despite it being internationally illegal is a big issue in our country. Many Americans are up in arms about this, and rightly so. One of the first duties that the pro-Peace/ antiwar community must do is to fight to end governmental use of torture on prisoners held. Common sense guides us on this one. We have to stop open US governmental use of torture NOW.

So where is the local Pikes Peak Justice and Peace Commission on this one? This is a group that has a pastor leading it at this time, and that also has 3 paid staff members working in its office. What are they doing to fight governmental use of torture against captured prisoners?

It has been months now when I first brought up the need for the PPJPC to demand that the city government pass a resolution against governmental use of torture. After all, Colorado Springs is a part of the USA, so governmental torture of prisoners is something done in our name.

Yes, they do claim that we have a democracy here in the US, so it is claimed that our government represents all of us when it makes policy decisions. Certainly a local peace group then should be demanding that government make the right policy decisions.

At the time it was proposed by me that the PPJPC make it our mission to go to the city government meetings held down at City Hall to try to get a resolution passed demanding an end to governmental use of torture, it was agreed that this was a good idea. It was agreed that the group would move on the issue.

Sad to say, the PPJPC has done absolutely nothing to bring any measure or resolution proposal to the mayor, Lionel Rivera, nor to the Colorado Springs city council. Nobody has ever in this group mentioned any reason to why it should not proceed with this campaign, but the paid office staff and pastor board director have merely chosen to silently do nothing.

These same people do often go to meetings arranged by the city police, where they then proceed to take their marching orders as to how to proceed with their ‘protests’, or not to proceed???, as spoon fed to them by Colorado Springs city attorneys. But they have not found the time to take a measure to the city government to demand that a resolution against the use of governmental torture be passed and sent to Washington DC. Do they really have any excuse for their inaction? I think not.

It is time that the PPJPC begin to carry out its mandate to oppose war and promote justice. We are not doing that at present, but instead are merely acting as a corporation, a non-profit one though. Yes at the present time, we in the PPJPC are of no particular profit to the community, since our group is failing to actually adequately fight on behalf of Justice and Peace.

We, as a group, are failing to demand something of Mayor Lionel Rivera and the city council, and are allowing them to be merely city government hacks captured by Pentagon and Lockheed Corporation. We, at the PPJPC, are failing in our mission to oppose war and injustice. We are failing at being a viable community action group, one that is activist and democratic. We are failing to oppose our government’s active use of torture on POWs.
