Did Obama’s middle class speech, as the MSM says, strike a chord? From Osawatomie, the note was sour.

OBAMA STRIKES A CHORD WITH MIDDLE CLASS SPEECH. What cynical populist fable-telling. President Obama delivered a speech in Kansas yesterday appearing to speak up for America's middle class, as if he wasn't the reddest-handed fox in the hen house. Once again President Hope spews Orwellian double-speak as he eviscerates the world's social fabric. Yet the media trumpets that Obama's speech "struck a chord" in a most pernicious stretch of dissembling. If Obama struck a chord, it was like a guitarist strikes a chord, on a wrong note, or ringing true, but to say Obama's words resonated is to pretend that wasn't entirely the product of media amplification. In Obama's case, lined-in through spin effects - in guitar terms it's called Reverb. To strike a chord used to mean saying something that hit your listeners just right. Is that what happened? Does our Nero have anyone convinced --beside our media-- that he's Spartacus?   I'm disturbed because President Obama chose Osawatomie, Kansas to grace with his forked tongue. Osawatomie was the nickname given Abolitionist John Brown, for holding his ground in an early anti-slavery battle at the Osawatomie slave sanctuary. Obama might have chosen the locale for its historic Free State

Nineteen years

That's how long it's been. I fell, at work, on this date 19 years ago. Broke the talus, cuboid, and fourth metatarsal on the right foot and dislocated the foot (it looked like Joe Theissman's ankle when the Cowboys got him)(and then lost the game with zero points anyway) and my left tibial plateau. (man I was messed up from the pain last night, I had his name written as Jes) As horrendous as that damage was, it could actually have been treated. They patched the bones together into more or less anatomical position then told me the screws and plate they used would be taken out in two years, and with therapy I would make a good recovery. The pendejo who had the bright idea of saving money by not buyng a second ladder for the second jobsite, and instead taking the ladder to one site and leaving us to walk up and down a conveyor belt like a ramp, promised he would make it right on the medical care. Well, danged if that ol' boy didn't just sell his company to his brother and skip state so as not to pay me a damn thing. The Mega-Rich excusez moi Tera Rich

Another military victory where the Poor “socialized” their blood for Capitalism

Tripoli, the site of the FIRST U.S. Military engagement to prop up capitalism, is apparently fallen, not to economic "free" market forces, but to the Armed Forces. In a book titled "Liberty Reclaimed", often described as the libertarian bible, the statement is made and reiterated "the only substantial difference between the Soviet Union and the United States isn't one of raw political power or the freedom of the subjects but one of economic policy."   So, when the Military claimed and still claim that they were and are fighting for freedom, they're lying. Just as the Pentagon and their contractors lie about Agent Orange, which killed Miss Johnnie's husband and a countless number of others. Countless because the Pentagon, bowing to their Corporate Masters, denied for more than a decade that Agent Orange actually causes human death. They also have recently claimed in a lawsuit that locks out the people of VietNam from any lawsuits that the people of the Republic of VietNam (Saigon government) sprayed with A.O. (and lots of other Military hardware sold at massive profits by the Corporations who now claim a moral exemption to taxation) were enemy combatants thus not eligible for compensation for their kids being killed.

An 83% Payroll Tax, on the Workers and paid directly to the Corporations

That's what I paid and, everybody who works for a "Slave Market" minimum wage Labor Contractor Service such as Labor Ready, Apprentice, Manpower, Kelly... The "tax" is paid to a Non-Governmental Organization, and is paid before the Worker gets his check. I base the 83% figure on the fact that the workers are paid only 1/6th of what the Parasite Corporation gets for his "product". Under the various manifestations of the "Right To Get Screwed At Work" law, the workers aren't allowed to negotiate wages, working conditions, pensions or Insurance through the use of Collective Bargaining. We're supposed, instead, to go hat-in-hand and beg the employer for a slight fraction more of what is actually owed us. On an individual basis and, under the RTW law, the employer can cut your wages just as quickly as he "gives" them to you. They can take 5 times what we get, producing absolutely NOTHING themselves. We're not allowed to do what the Corporate Masters do, insist on a profit for our product. Nor, according to the laws as interpreted by their Tame Supreme Court, are we even allowed to break even. You can't go to King Soopers or Safeway and buy a $3

…While their Political Servants are pushing austerity for the Working Class

But not for their Political Backers, who bailed out their industry at public expense, a pair of Rich-Bitch Investment Bankers from New York took a joyride in a taxi to Las Vegas and Los Angeles "on a whim". Take that, Peasants! We're cutting off your grandma's Social Security and your pension and your rights to bargain for a fair wage and decent working conditions, but we get to make a bold statement of the Divine Rights of Wealthy Assholes! And have the BBC report it as a Serious News Story!!! How Elitist of us! Maybe they'll pick up George Bush, John McCain, Boehner, Scott Walker, our own Doug Lamborn, and Richard Cheney on the way back and fellate them, in gratitude for them using Corporate Welfare public funds to bail them out when they and their sorry ilk trashed the economy for everybody else in the world. 23784

A union worker, a citizen and a CEO …

Via UNAC's Ward Reilly: A unionized public employee, an ill-informed citizen, and a CEO are sitting at a table. In the middle of the table is a plate with a dozen cookies on it. The CEO reaches across and takes 11 cookies, looks at the ill-informed citizen and says, "Watch out for that union guy. He wants a piece of your cookie."

Muddy wellies across white canvas

Norway prides itself on its ubiquitous and egalitarian middle class, making of its opera house a celebration of folkstheatre and its no empty boast Oslo newspapers address eight pages to culture versus one to sport. But I think the architects behind the glacier-slopped Oslo Opera House have struck with typical condescending Nordic sarcasm. Here is an in-edifice to high art on which the people can trod, on every last angle. Even if Scandinavian farmers are not inclined to attend opera performances, they can sight-see from the pretentious exterior. Idealists can assert this art reaches the Hoi Poloi, as it compels visitors to put it all underfoot. It's form over substance, literally. The result presents aimless booted peasants looking like they wouldnt know art if they stepped on it. 20187
