Machine men, with machine minds and machine hearts

This weekend the kids and I watched Charlie Chaplin's brilliant 1940 movie The Great Dictator. The film was released before the United States' entry into World War II when our country was still at peace with Nazi Germany. Charlie Chaplin was an outspoken critic of Nazism and fascism while most Americans were either ignorant of or complacent about European goings-on. The Great Dictator is ingenious in its inexorable skewering of Hitler and Mussolini, done with complete levity and irreverance, a task made possible by Chaplin's lack of foresight into the coming Holocaust. He admits he likely wouldn't have made the film had he known about Hitler's final solution. Chaplin plays two characters in the film: Adenoid Hynkel (Adolf Hitler) and an obscure Jewish barber who resembles the great dictator. Chaplin undertook a meticulous study of Adolf Hitler's manner of speaking in preparation for the film, and some of the most brilliant scenes are of Hynkel's speeches, spoken in authentic German-sounding gibberish, delivered with all the wild-eyed passion, choking and spitting of Hitler himself. Hynkel is surrounded by cronies with amusing names: Goebbels is Herr Garbitsch (pronounced Garbage), Göring is Herr Herring, and leading the opposition is Benzino Napaloni -- a portmanteau of Benito Mussolini and Napoleon Bonaparte. In a plot twist near the end of the film, the Jewish barber is mistaken for Adenoid Hynkel and is called on to make a victory speech to thousands of Germans cheering the successful invasion of neighboring Osterlich (Austria). Bumbling to center stage completely unprepared, the imposter Herr Hynkel delivers this address to his buoyant followers: I'm sorry but I don't want to be an Emperor - that's not my business - I don't want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone if possible, Jew, gentile, black man, white. We all want to help one another, human beings are like that. We all want to live by each other's happiness, not by each other's misery. We don't want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone and the earth is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful. But we have lost the way. Greed has poisoned men's souls - has barricaded the world with hate; has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. We have developed speed but we have shut ourselves in: machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical, our cleverness hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little: More than machinery we need humanity; More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost. The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together. The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in men, cries out for universal brotherhood for the unity of us all. Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world, millions of despairing men, women and little children, victims of a system that

US soldier sadists get kicks in quick at Guantanamo

Exclusive: Lawyer says Guantanamo abuse worse since Obama So it's not just Not My Tribe that writes about the bad character of most US soldiers, but rather Reuters does so as it informs the whole world of these facts about American soldier jailers. The US military is simply full of many sick, hateful, and sadistic people, as are the various local policing agencies within our country. That simply should be absolutely not surprising to anybody around the world, since these soldiers and police are in charge of enforcing racist, imperialist, war mongering domestic and foreign policies of the US government. The Whole World continues to watch.

Obama to continue torturing US held POWs at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan

Bagram Air Force Base is US military, so why this 'No US rights' for Bagram inmates? ...The simple answer is that Obama and his Administration will continue to torture Afghan POWs held by the US military. Colorado Springs is kind of a sister city to this torture prison, are we not? BTW, the Air Force Academy Buzzards suck this year with their sad sack 9-16 record.

Obama’s coverups

Obama is covering up for George Bush's Administration use of torture as policy. He wants to have it both ways, first claiming that he is changing policy, then in engaging in the old policies of 'rendition' and coverup of torture of POWs held by the US military. But there is yet another coverup underway, and that is how Obama is covering up for George Bush's illegal support for the illegal actions of Israel in Gaza and elsewhere (remember Lebanon?). He may want to repeat the same under his own Administration? From MSNBC: Obama administration defending Bush secrets. You see, Obama's Administration is all about coverups and trying to put a new face on the same old policies of the Republican Party, whether it be with his domestic or his foreign policies. Pretending to leave Iraq yet staying there. Pretending to stop US government made torture, yet continuing to engage in all the activities that use it (occupations of Afghanistan, attacks on Pakistan, continued worship of the military-industrial complex's God GWOT). Obama is clearly one of the most duplicitous presidents the US has ever had. He is continuing the Federal Government give away's to the corporate world, too. And Number One on Obama's coverup foreign agenda is continued coverup of what the Israeli game plan is all about, simply because it is the US government game plan also. Obama is continuing Cheney's and the neocon's program of trying to restructure the entire Middle East into a more compliant region for continued US domination and control of the peoples and the natural resources of the region. Oil is still the name of the game and Israel is still the US bulldog enforcer. Obama needs to cover for Israel's crimes since he plans to use their crimes to help further the US government's own crimes. The US under Barack Obama is firmly on the side of Israel's ethnic cleansing program in both Israel proper and in the Occupied Territories, and these are Obama's coverups of the Bush Administration as much as how he is trying to coverup for Bush by keeping torture records secret, keeping executive privilege intact, and so on. There is no change beyond the superficial change of faces and parties in the White House. Military-industrial war games shall continue and Barack will now direct them. Just don't buy these Obama coverups if you want real change to ever occur? Don't let him coverup for the use of torture nor the use of Israel's military machine.

Jail the jailer! Throw Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio in Federal Prison

Guantanamo is just the tip of the iceberg for taking down the work of the Bush-Cheney Klan that now continues to infiltrate positions of power at all levels throughout the US. Racist Sheriff Joe Arpaio has already murdered some of his prisoners, tortured many more of them, and is himself nothing more than a common criminal. He belongs in jail but just not his own one. He needs to be taken out of power first of all, but then thrown in a Federal Prison where he most certainly does belong! Arizona needs to do some real soul searching to figure out what it is about the place that produces these assholes like, Joe Arpaio? Too much Injun killing in the past perhaps? See Chained Immigrants Paraded By Arizona Sheriff

Binyam Mohamed vs Barack Obama

Barack Obama is keeping available more use of rendition flights like the one used to fly Binyam Mohamed to Morocco to be tortured for the US government and US military. Barack, we thought you were going to change this sort of thing so that it could never happen again? I mean as part of your faith based initiatives and openness and what all? What happened? Torture -- What 'extraordinary renditions' is like Barack, you don't want to turn out to be a moral cretin just like the rest of them, do you? So why don't you just definitively and without equivocation end these torture flights by the US? Why don't you free the prisoners abused in this manner? What are you waiting on since you are now the President, are you not?

Barack to pardon Bush for his crimes against humanity and now we can fry others

'While the Obama administration is turning its back on some Bush administration practices, Panetta said there is no intention to hold CIA officers responsible for the policy they were told to carry out. CIA interrogators who used waterboarding or other harsh techniques against prisoners with the permission of the White House should not be prosecuted, he said.' Do not be misled in that Obama says he is going to stop renditions. Obama plans to keep the US troops in other peoples' countries and many of the 'natives' will get turned over to others for torture, 'rendition flights' or not. CIA nominee says no 'extraordinary rendition'- Panetta wants CIA to find bin Laden; says don't prosecute waterboarders

Cheney Quotes Machiavelli… to distance himself from Caligula

Because his only hard-core fan club anymore are the more reactionary members of the Wreligious Wrong...   For 8 years, more actually, American Foreign Policy has been based on the theme "Oderint Dum Metuant" which means "Let them hate us, as long as they fear us" A favorite of the Roman Emperor Gaius Julius Caesar the Second, aka Caligula. Who really has a lot in common with Cheney. The main difference is Caligula is already burning in Hell and Cheney is just waiting his turn. Of course, he in the interview where he basically tried to COMMAND President Obama to continue the unfettered and unregulated Torture Program... pause... (Here I'll interject, the Right Wing Lunatic Plague will scream and whine in their Sunday-best Shrill Voices that "it's not unregulated, theirs Judicial Review (by judges who are under the direct command of the Torture Freaks) and you lefties are just being Mean and we're going to cry about it") ...un-pause...So he instead trots out a line from Machiavelli "It is better to be feared than loved, if you cannot be both." Niccolo Machiavelli (1469 - 1527), "The Prince" Which is very much the same thing said by ancient Italian Dictator Caligula. Another quote from the same book "...people are fickle by nature; and it is simple to convince them of something but difficult to hold them in that conviction; and, therefore, affairs should be managed in such a way that when they no longer believe, they can be made to believe by force." Which is the philosophy expressed by Lee Atwater, another fascist criminal already in Hell, and by Karl Rove, another one like Cheney awaiting his turn. in the Project for the New American (Imperial) Century. My what wonderful company they keep. No wonder the Nazis vote Republican. Now, I had forgotten to code in the end of the block-quote there at the proper place, so it kind of ran together and makes a lot less sense than if the quote were accurately finished. Here, I attempt to fix that. "...people are fickle by nature; and it is simple to convince them of something but difficult to hold them in that conviction; and, therefore, affairs should be managed in such a way that when they no longer believe, they can be made to believe by force." Which is the philosophy expressed by Lee Atwater, another fascist criminal already in Hell, and by Karl Rove, another one like Cheney awaiting his turn. Rove and Cheney and Jeb Bush (the "smart brother") expressed that in the Project for the New American (Imperial) Century. My what wonderful company they keep. No wonder the Nazis vote Republican. The Prince, by the way, was political advice given to a petty dictator in a city-state that now holds no power beyond its suburbs, on how to hold power for as long as possible. Which doesn't extend to "eternal" or even "epic". There was no Golden Age and never will be one.

US ‘suppressing torture evidence’ says top British government official

The Pentagon has been suppressing the press. 'Mr Davis said a High Court ruling, which pointed to complicity by the UK and US authorities in his torture, was prevented from being published after the US put pressure on the UK.' Tory MP demands torture statement be made against the British Labor government's support of US torture, and thus against the US government's use of torture, also. This is a welcome development as the Obama government has decided to continue rendition flights to have Pentagon held POWs tortured in other countries for the US government. MP David Davis is throwing a thorn in the side of the cover-up underway to help try to save the Bush Klan from prosecution. Obama wants to renounce the use of torture and continue to use it more clandestinely. We should not allow him to get away with this maneuvering. That is a photo of Binyam Mohamed, the man who was tortured at Guantanamo by the US.

US media campaign to help Pentagon defend its use of torture on POWs

There is a growing effort to defend the use of torture on POWs by the US military, and it centers around the Pentagon's and the corporate media's effort to convince the American people that some Guantanamo inmates have become terrorists post discharge. These POWs were discharged because they were found to be innocent of 'terrorism', but now the Pentagon and US media want to paint a picture of US military incompetence, all to bolster a campaign to defend those that tortured these POWs when they were at the US run torture concentration camp called Guantanamo (Gitmo). The corporate media campaign is based on utterly superficial and flimsy 'evidence', which is because basically it is Pentagon propaganda and lies. The following gives a link to this so-called 'evidence' printed out today in The Christian Science Monitor and scattered throughout today's US propaganda industry's coverage of the issue of 'closing down' Guantanamo. Ex-Guantánamo inmates return to militancy in Yemen What is seen quickly, is that all the 'evidence' comes from the Saudi government, a dictatorship heavily invested into torturing prisoners. The fact that the US corporate media and the Pentagon turn these American held POWs to these world class criminals and then has the utter gall to report their stewardship over these prisoners as virtual reality and TRUTH really takes the cake! In fact, it is an endorsement of the Saudi torture regime itself, and a use of this foreign torture regime to help justify US military torture in place under Bush, and now Barack Obama. Per the 'evidence' of the Christian Science Monitor stuff, all of the evidence of a supposed return of POWs found innocent and released to supposed criminal activity comes from the word of Saudi government spokesmen! Sick! Much of American society wants to find a way to justify using torture on other people. They revel in it, and have spent years pretending that torture is not happening, torture is not torture, and in a myriad of ways supporting the use of torture while pretending not to be. This is the latest effort on their behalf by the Pentagon and corporate media, and is utterly a ghost fantasy script written for them, with the aid and assistance of one of the most reactionary regimes in the world, the Saudi Arabian government. This fact alone shows how unembarrassed much of America is about its own criminal use of torture, and this campaign may be used by Barack Obama to step back from actually even making he effort to clean up the US government's world image by transferring Guantanamo POWs elsewhere? The use of torture runs deep inside the entire American business of jailing and abusing its own population, too. Guantanamo hardly even begins to be the tip of the iceberg at this point, in uncovering and terminating abuse of prisoners of any kind. We are a very sick country, and many

Pentagon tortures 15 y/o POW, loses ‘confession’ tape, but still wants to enter it into ‘trial’!

Former Gitmo prosecutor rips military trials, calling interrogators' practices 'despicable' The 15 y/o taken as POW in Afghanistan was tortured, his torture obtained 'confession' video taped by his interrogators, and yet now 'the confession' is being entered in by the US government-military as supposed evidence against the juvenile POW at their military procedures. All this taking place at its own illegal US government sponsored Kangaroo Court trial for the young man, though the US military claims that they have actually lost the taped confession! Even Kafka couldn't have come up with this totalitarian scenario and yet this is the standard of 'Military Justice' that will be used to try yet more US soldiers being brought into Fort Carson for 'trials'. They don't seem to be planning to charge anybody for crimes of torturing POWs, Barack or no Barack? How is that the case in our alleged democracy? Free the US GIs that have resisted taking part in these wars waged in such illegal manner. Mohamed was tortured repeatedly at Gitmo, post his Afghanistan taped 'confession' obtained from torture. What were they hoping to find from this kid POW? Some Americans that mistakenly entered into the US military don't want to take part in this sort of illegalities. That's a crime? They should be honored for helping chip away at this Pentagon torture machine.

Who has the famous al-Zaidi Bush shoes

Everyone's clamoring for the shoe heard around the world. The several manufacturers who claim to have cobbled the offending black oxfords are deluged in orders. A Saudi man has offered ten million dollars for Muntadhar al-Zaidi's original pair. But the NYT reports: "Explosives tests by investigators destroyed the offending footwear." Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat?! I don't believe that shit for a minute. If airport security can verify footwear inertness in a few seconds... Not that a pair of worn leather shoes matters a whit. But there is more than shoe fetish at foot here. And I find something about the fate of this pair of shoes that's awfully unlike a Skull and Bones man. Idolatry The Saudi who offered the king's ransom for the "Medal of Freedom" shoes, may have been enraptured by idolatry, but he knows the magical allure which those shoes will always possess. How can any of us deny the mystical energy we attribute to baseballs marked by having been hit to home runs? All Americans take, or aspire to take, a pilgrimage to the Smithsonian to see the actual, for real, objects of their common heritage. Museums of art and natural history, glean an idolatry all their own, but historical collections like the Smithsonian and the British Imperial War Museum, peddle in pure talisman mysticism. The crown jewels come to mind, or any ordinary person's diamond. Stones, crystals, runes, coins, fetishes, heirlooms, antiques, personal designer accessories, safety blankets. We swim in stuff which have meaning greater than their utility. Even poor Diogenes had his lantern. Who are we kidding that mere objects don't have enormous power over us? I myself keep everything. I frequently feel I'm drowning in remembrances and chanced-upon objects for which I aspire sentiment. Would that I could focus on strength-building empowering articles. I'm reminded of last year's sale of a copy of the Magna Carta, was it, to a modern Wall Street robber baron. I was not alone to surmise that he paid 21 million for the now-transgressed compact, probably to wipe his ass with it. As the great white hunters paid their safari guides in hope of being the last to personally vanquish whatever late species was next to be rendered extinct. The al-Zaidi Shoes This famous pair of shoes were thrown by Muntadhar al-Zaidi at President Bush, al-Zaidi being the first man to dare show defiance to the US Nero. Although, certain intellectuals do come to mind, for having voiced their discontent with his policies. I remember too, a certain brave Indonesian witch doctor who cast a magic curse on the universally despised Bush. Ki Gendeng Pamungkas placed a jinx to shorten Bush's stay in Indonesia, it wasn't a fatal voodoo spell, for that would have been just as illegal as making threats is in the US. I will always believe there must have been countless more who've cursed Bush to his face, if prudently under their breath. But journalist al-Zaidi did the one act above all others. He showed open, physical defiance. At the bottom line, against an imperial

Throwing a shoe at Bush was not enough- Dubya and Cheney need to be tortured for National Security reasons

It seems to me that the wrong guy is being tortured right now, pre-Christmas.   I'm talking about the Iraqi reporter who threw the shoe at America's smirking Clown President, George W. Bush. Why is he being tortured and not the clown named Dubya? We all know, thanks to Dick Cheney, that torture is a useful 'tool' for pricks like Dick Cheney. It simply gives them a sense of worth. But let's face it, these two, Dick and Dubya, endangered US National Security for eight years, and are hiding away in secret many more of their acts of international terrorism, many of which continue to endanger the American people ourselves. It looks to me that torture is just the right thing to do to obtain this vital information from these two criminals, and possibly stop yet more subversion from taking place even after they leave their criminal posts as head mafiosos. Let's face it, it would not take much to break down the clown Dubya's resistance. He squeal like a pig if even the slightest pressure is applied to his nuts. Think of the amount of much needed information that could be obtained about his still hidden collaborators and their roles in spreading terrorism world wide. They're still active you know, and America needs this information to stop yet more acts of terrorism from being committed by the US government in the days ahead. Sure, I know! Squeezing Dubya's nuts is an objectionable and dirty thing to do. Under normal circumstances it would be morally wrong to do it, but today National Security is at the stake. So let's light the fire, squeeze the nuts, and get this useful information out of Dick and Dubya. It's the right thing to do. Our country needs this information! If they do not squeal after their nuts are squeezed (hard to imagine happening from pigs like them), then crush the nuts and light the fire around the stake! That'll get them talking. Oh! And buy the way, this is not really torture at all, but just some rough handling, that's all. But why do these criminals think that they have a right to be coddled? Free Iraq! Free the Iraqi shoe thrower! Jail Bush, and go to work on him! It's a National Security issue and we all need to write tot he Department of Homeland Security and demand that this information being obtained from Dubya and Dick... By any means necessary... it's the pragmatic American way!

Papieren Bitte? Just your shoes please

Most people can easily conjure the cinematic image of Gestapo officers blocking train passengers, demanding "Your papers please." That such a scene could ever develop in America, haunts citizens opposed to national identity cards or embedded microchips. But with modern surveillance methods as pervasive as cellphones, perhaps today's state security services have less need to verify who we are. I'll assert the US Department of Homeland Security is charged more with making Americans feel the heavy boot print of authoritarianism. I think that in the wake of 9/11, this nation has indeed mobilized a "papers please" law enforcement policy. The proof is there in black and white in the Patriot Act; you can see it in the Civil Liberties-free zone which immigration officers have been empowered to enforce to 100 miles inland from our borders; and you can see it at our airports. Last night's 60-Minutes questioned the punitive aspects of the TSA measures to which today's airline passengers are subjected. Less surprisingly, CBS also suggested their probable ineffectiveness. Having just paid a holiday visit to DIA, I was inclined to see more. Yes, this is another holiday post. Credit where credit is due? It's no coincidence this is about shoes. Papieren Bitte First, I'd like to deconstruct the film mythology, which originated in wartime, from Hollywood Home Front propaganda meant to demonize the Hun. Certainly the trench-coated SS officer, or leather-jacketed Gestapo detective, asking for your documents, cut a villainous figure. But they were, in reality, as out of the ordinary as today's FBI or CIA agents. Have you ever happened upon a one of those? More often by far, during WWII, the job of asking for a traveler's "Legitimacion" was assigned to the gendarmes of the occupied countries, or to the collaborators who'd been deputized. These were ordinary constables and men who otherwise were unfit to serve in combat. Old frumps, maligned and bitter. If you can picture the run-of-the-mill TSA troll, you see where I'm going. Public Transportation Where travelers a half-century ago were taking trains, today the public city-to-city lattice is airborne. Today we queue for planes, not trains. And instead of producing our "papers" --I should say, IN ADDITION to producing our papers-- we are required to remove our shoes, all sorts of articles, submit to searches, and refrain from carrying certain items, in order to thread the needle that allows us access to public travel. I'm not sure if today's security screening isn't the equivalent of the depiction of the 40s silver-screen. Before you argue that I'm being alarmist, please consider that most Germans during the war, indeed the overwhelming majority of citizens of occupied Europe, had little to fear by being asked for their documents. You or I are not insurgents on the lam, nor aspiring bomb-throwers. We do not fear being sent to Guantanamo. Indeed, you might remember, the movie heroes who sweated the Nazi checkpoints were always resistance fighters, saboteurs, or escaped Allied prisoners. Today, ask yourself how an enemy of the USA would fare trying to use

Is Barack Obama the Socialist candidate for President?

Stephen Colbert and Brian Moore discuss the question of whether Barack Obama is actually the Socialist candidate for President of the United States. The conclusion between them was that Obama actually was not, but he seems a bit brighter than the real Socialist Party candidate for President actually appears to be. That's one more reason I do not plan to vote Socialist Party myself. My party's candidate certainly is no later day Eugene Debs, and we have a long way to go to get back to that. However, I would vote for Moore becoming the Mayor of Colorado Springs against Lionel Rivera. True, Lionel is for 'socialism', too, but for the benefit of Lockheed and the Pentagon. He's for big government spending, PLUS he's a dishonest lying creep. Mayor Moore, unlike Mayor Rivera, would have pushed for a municipal proposal condemning US government torture of POWs. Rivera blocked that proposal and instead talked about what a great job the troops were doing. Moore is not for using torture against other people, while Rivera is. In short, Rivera kind of has a way of turning people's stomachs. He's another Republican creep.

American government torture report

Guantanamo man tortured into confessing - US judge decides It gets worse, too. The US government is using the torture administered against a juvenile to try to kill this kid over in Cuba... oh! ... I meant the robbed portion of Cuba called Guantanamo US military base. Think of the moral character of the US servicemen and women connected in running this torture center for Bush, Cheney, and their Democratic Party cohort politicians? Oh well, they shouldn't let any little thing like torture of juvenile Prisoners of War get into the way of their personal careers now should they? I don't have a pension but I sure wouldn't want these heroes, 'our' service people, to lose theirs that I pay for them to get. That just wouldn't be morally right! After all, I owe my right to say these dastardly things due to their willingness to go out and torture juvenile POWs in hideaway spots on my behalf. Oh thank you, Heroes! You must be proud! I know that many of you are certainly smug...

BBC reports how US forces murdered Ossetian civilians in Tskhinvali

Just like how the Bush Administration just got though murdering Syrian civilian children in an unlawful attack on a foreign country, the US led forces of Georgia's US puppet leader, President Mikhail Saakashvili, targeted, attacked, and murdered Ossetian civilians in that area of our world, too. Georgia accused of targeting civilians And there's worse, as this despicable US political party, The Republicans, is even running a torturer of Iraqi civilians for Congress! Once again we turn to the British media for a report about this. Allen West oversaw the brutal treatment of an Iraqi. Now he is running for Congress And the Democratic Party went alongside and worked alongside the Republican Party these last 8 years, following their Clinton regime of murder of Iraqi children by 'sanctions', their prepping of the lies the Republicans used to invade and occupy the country, and their votes that most often were directly with the Republicans in funding this huge atrocity, all which is now bankrupting our own economy here at home. Yes, the Democratic Party under Obama, Pelosi, and Clinton, sit by and do absolutely nothing to oppose any of these moves by the Republcian Party, even as these murderous attacks on Syrians and Ossetians seem even to be almost partisan engagements on behalf of trying to get John McCain elected! What a sorry group of louts!

DHS and AIPAC implant fear cancer CELL, a house of horrors in Denver museum circuit (Photos) (Spoiler)

DENVER, COLORADO- Just in time for this year's 9/11 commemoration, and in the spirit of deepening America's public commitment to the self- described endless Global War On Terror, comes THE CELL, a permanent museum exhibit to keep US citizens vigilant to the treat of terrorism. The DHS has provided funds to AIPAC and erstwhile Jewish lobbyists to build this display at the Mizel Museum next to the Denver Art Museum. You might well ask, WHAT are Israeli/Jewish interests doing fanning the flames of the so-called GWOT? From ML: collaborators are Rand, MIPT, Lawson Terrorism Information Center, AIC, Melanie Pearlman, regional director of AIPAC, Toby Dershowitz, Courtney Green (Mizel's daughter) Mark Dubowitz, David Grey, Michael Inlander, Jonathan Schanzer, David Heyman, Brian Michael Jenkins, spook, mercenary, and false flag agent with Kroll Associates, who was in charge of WTC security and hired John O'Neill, who fingered the US ambassador to Yemen in the USS Cole bombing, and who was killed on 9/11, and Clifford May, of the RMN, NY Times, Committee on the Present Danger, and Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, ngo CIA fronts. The CELL is an acronym for Center for Empowered Living and Learning, but in a political world where a reference to "lipstick" is automatically taken to refer to the Ugly American fundamentalist/ bigot/ corrupt/ simpleton/ sow running for GOP VP, the word "cell" is incredibly unsubtle. It's the dreaded "sleeper cell" of dormant terrorists, meant to allude to the malignant cancer cell poised to spread until its host is dead. Fighting cancer of course means excising every single trace of an inclination of a tumor. While "cell" also describes a small organization, it has another definition certainly inconvenient to our would-be DHS fear-mongering jailers. It's a prison cell to which we confine ourselves for the sake of "security." This hysterical fear spreads like a cancer throughout our nation, seeded by 9/11 and apparently folks who think we need regular inoculations of fear cells. The display at the CELL is called ANYONE, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE: UNDERSTANDING THE THREAT OF TERRORISM. It teaches people to join Neighborhood Watch programs, etc, and to keep in touch with the Department of Homeland Security. When FDR said "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself," he was encouraging Americans to overcome their fear. Like a parent's bedside advice: there's no bogeyman in the closet, it's all in your head. How far have we fallen when our own leaders pervert FDR's axiom to mean the only thing you have to fear is terror (fear itself). Never mind what you have to fear, just fear. What then do AIPAC and the Simon Wiesenthal Center have to do with scaring Americans into serving the GWOT? Does Israel think that unless Americans are reminded to fear Islam, they might begin to question white man's incursion into the Middle East? Are Israel's atrocities against Palestine and Lebanon likely to come into question unless the American public is kept mesmerized by Muslim Terror? To refer to terrorism as an ideology is already an adolescent

Pentagon Airlines carries both cocaine and renditioned prisoners

This scandal is being kept pretty much out of the US news. What we are referring to is the Mexico drug plane used for US 'rendition' flights: report It really shows the low moral character of the US government torturers. The torturers are connected with cocaine pushing too, though is that really so surprising? Surprised? You shouldn't be. Shades of Colombia where the US puppet government is connected with the cocaine crowd, too. And brings back memories of Colonel Ollie North in Central America. There is a long history of Pentagon connections with pushers. 'USA! USA! USA!' This is the chant that many of the McCainites responded with to the antiwar protesters as these militarism nuts lined up like sheep to go see their clown during his campaign visit yesterday in Colorado Springs, That got met by simply leading their chant in front of them, 'USA, USA, USA.... USA Stop Torture of POWs Now!' Shut the fools up real quick, it did. Try it. The Right Wing no longer even tries to muster up its previous effort to deny the reality of US torture of POWs. They are just pathetic as they try to call others out as being UnAmerican, though it is they themselves who support using torture on innocent US held prisoners. Just pathetic they are... And shameless, too.

Algerian torture academy blown sky high

Suicide attack at Algerian police academy kills 43 in corporate newspeak from the Associated Press. Let's translate that to Torture Academy blown sky high by Amnesty International.   Might it well have been one of the family members of the disappeared and/or tortured victims that was what the corporate Christian Jihad press calls a "suicide bomber?"   PS. I wonder why those ten French soldiers got blown away in Afghanistan?

Dr. Bousa and the CIA

One could easily overlook certain political world happenings and believe that the Arab Lounge's Ask Dr. Bousa is nothing more than yet another page in another innocuous single's meat market web site. However$$$? That would be to overlook the American Psycho Association's ...Oh I meant 'Psychological' Association's work at Guantanamo for the Pentagon. Yes, nothing is as simple these days as it first appears. The US Christian government's war on Islamic cultural beliefs is deep and repulsive, not to mention pornographic. Abu Ghraib... remember that? Now we have something called "Arab Lounge'. So over-sexualization of Arab life is something that the Pentagon would want to push in its pornographic style. Homosexual rape, menstrual blood, and singles sites for Arabs and Muslims perhaps? Those are some pretty seductive Arab women I am seeing in ads for 'Arab Lounge' Inc. Reminds me of the Israeli material military girls even. Reminds us of the American Psychological Assoication, does it not? Yes, I do not think I am merely paranoid either? lol madly MADLY!!!! Cuties at Arab Lounge Yes, the US government can actually be involving itself in seducing the young rich Arab males with porno sites! Do it and you got them by their dicks, Dick, might just be where it got started, and not just from some innocent business scheme! Hollywood might not be quite enough, and the Pentagon may actually have a hand in this 'Arab Lounge'?! Go figure? Nothing is as it ever simply appears these days. War is fought on so many different fronts. It's a Brave and Creepy World out there.

Racist police wait 2 weeks before finally arresting local teenagers who murdered undocumented worker in Pennsylvania

Democracy Now ran this interview with an eyewitness about the case of an undocumented Mexican worker, Luis Ramirez, who was murdered in an assault by a gang of racist football players in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania. The following day, July 25, local police finally arrested some of the perps for this murder, almost 2 weeks after it occurred on July 12! See AP report about the arrests ...Teens charged in fatal beating of immigrant Pa. town 'filled with tensions between many ethnic groups' Note that Amy Goodman gets the timing of the murder wrong in her reportage by 1 week, but still a very revealing report at that. And also note the framing done by Associated Press, which tries to excuse the racist hate crime by talking about a town full of 'tensions'. Can one imagine such a title to a news report if a gang of Hispanics had beat and kicked to death a White Anglo in this town? So we go from police inaction and prevarication in Pennsylvania to the murder of a Black man in Louisiana in the same time span, who was tasered multiple times by a White racist cop, including twice when he was already unconscious! See my previous commentary titled Cop torturing by taser gets a little out of hand down South It is clear that the police and legal systems are racially biased at all levels and regions of this country. But what can one expect from a legal system that has made legal testimony from prisoners (POWs) that are tortured in the hands of US authorities? The racism flows from the top levels of government straight down to the local football player thugs in our society. And of course, ti was probably the racist parents of these 'kids' that voted for this sick government in the first place. The violence in American society is circular in nature and is becoming more and more out of hand, and at the heart of the problem is our bloated military and the bloated corporations that supply it.

Cop torturing by taser gets a little out of hand down South

Yes, once again it is the State of Louisiana, which is the state the whole country has fallen into in actuality. Cop torture by taser gets yet more bad press, but cops like to torture at times, and here in Colorado Springs these cops have tasers, too. Dead Black Man Was Tasered Nine Times by White Cop I mean you might have not even heard about this story, what with the press having to spend so much time talking about Commander-in-Chief-Wannabe Obama's tour of the war lands? Why do Americans not protest these tortures by cops using taser? This is what the thugs at the top call 'Homeland Security'? It seems like we're getting National Insecurity worse than Obama Bin Laden ever could have delivered. And let's face it, being Black has gotten much more dangerous lately in this country not less. Blacks just don't have as much money, poverty is a crime, and crime gets you tortured by cop tasers here in America the Beautiful. Let's register these Black people by way of the criminal injustice system. Put a brand on them why not? Baron 'Scooter' Pikes you had a bad attitude! See what you done? Now Taser International PR will have to work overtime to help the National Security State 'protect life', trademark impending. Snappy music on the site there, Dudes. So let's go torture! Got any more spare Black folk to electrocute? Long live the South! The KKK lives on! Ain't that sweet? Department of Homeland Security? What a damn joke... What a Frankenstein this country is on tasers.

Risks?

.....Risks Incorporated, US firm, ............ has been doing US government torture training for instructing police in Leon, Mexico. This US company is now embroiled in a scandal in Mexico because one of its how to torture training clips was exposed to public scrutiny.   Next time you want to get tough on undocumented Mexican workers in the US, think a little bit about this US company and what it is doing in Mexico. It is a US firm training Mexican police on behalf of the American government on how to torture Mexican citizens. This government doesn't practice torture, its employees do! That would be both the US and Mexican governments which use torture on people...
