U.S. Hypocrisy over Pakistan spy round-up and “human shields”

Has the Favorite Whine about “How DARE another nation exercise the same sovereign rights as America?” in the so called “liberal” media. Who are these phantasmal “Liberal Media” anyway? Every press, TV, and radio syndicate in the country bows down before the Police State Warmonger-Whorelords. I guess it’s people who don’t snap to attention and throw out the Bellamy Salute every time their Masters bark at us. Internet Journalists who point out that Sovereignty held by only one nation, even over its fellow members of a Koalition of the Killing, is NOT nationalism but instead Empire.

That no person or nation has an exclusive right to espionage or other forms of violence, like the Chair Force Cowards who sit at their “video game” consoles and direct Predator Strikes against people anywhere in the world, regardless of sex, age, condition, status as civilian or military, citizenship, Even BABIES and then blame the dehumanized “Targets” for “hiding behind Civilian Human Shields”.

I got your “Human Shields” right here in Colorado Springs. Not uncommon anywhere in the world. You put a police station in the center of a civilian population, the pigs are using “human shields” at least according to Pentagon/ State Department logic.

Ft Bliss, Texas, smack in the middle of a metropolitan area including 17 towns in three states (Texas, New Mexico, and Chihuahua Mexico) with a combined population of about three million.

San Diego-TiaJuana has U.S. Military hiding behind more than FOUR Million human shields. The Great Lakes Naval Station in Chicago IL, oooohhhhh…. The CIA, Pentagon, and another web of military stations in among all the Civilian Human Shields from Baltimore to Richmond.

The Brooklyn Naval Yard. Nuff said.

I guess their gander isn’t quite as tasty smothered in goose sauce.

DAI and the perils of privatization

The perils of privatization. Cuba has arrested a pro-democracy agent who admits working for the US government. But that didn’t come from a confession. Instead, it was reported by a Washington DC area contractor, Development Alternatives, Inc, who confirmed one of their employees had been apprehended. The US State Department and CIA have always used private firms as cover, but privatizing the payroll, instead of providing a firewall of deniability, has added a bureaucratic layer more readily exposed.

Referring to their agent in Havana as a “subcontractor” is not to suggest that there are now sub-mercenaries, or sub-agents, but simply that the functions of the CIA and USAID have indeed been subcontracted. DAI is not a cover for the CIA, it’s a privatized surrogate.

The name DAI reminds me of the more embarrassing anagram, CAI, Greg Mortenson’s Central Asia Institute, also doing the Lord Uncle Sam’s work.

Actually, the agent in question is not an employee of DAI, but a person subcontracted under the employ of a third party. The identity of neither the person, nor the third party company, is being revealed. Does that imply funny business to you?

Aspiring privateers beware, there is neither diplomatic immunity, nor covert backup, for private companies infiltrating foreign political systems. Under US laws, these agents would be tried as terrorists.

I’ve read it suggested that Cuba should consider a prisoner swap for the CUBAN 5, who’ve been languishing in US prisons for the crime of trying to stop Florida-based terrorists plotting attacks on Cuba. The DAI employee apprehended today entered Cuba under false pretenses, with a tourist visa, with the intention of overthrowing the Cuban government. The US would be lucky if it could be considered an even trade.

With release of convicted Roxana Saberi, Iranian justice proves more fair than US

American TV reporter Roxana Saberi overstayed her welcome in Iran, despite the revocation of her press credentials, continuing to tape segments for pro-US-military propaganda outlets such as NPR and Fox News. She was detained, charged, convicted and sentenced earlier this year, which is more than the US has done for any of the detainees it has held for eight years, most of whom have turned out to be guilty of no crime, and all of whom the US also tortured. After much indignant hue and cry from the US, Iran has released Saberi to what may resemble the hero’s welcome given Jessica Lynch, another white girl rescued from uncivilized Islam. Will the US media bat an eyelash at the irony?

Miss North Dakota in grips of axis of evil

Roxana SaberiEvery day there’s a scare story coming out of Iran. A couple days ago, it was announced that a western news correspondent, Roxana Saberi, has been detained in Iran. Can they do that? Apparently Iran isn’t a free country like the USA.

Except-

Except that in the USA, too, reporters for foreign news services are required to have press credentials. Saberi has been reporting in Iran for six years, although a year ago her press credentials were not renewed. Maybe because she was doing work for NPR and Fox. Could those be considered propaganda branches of the US State Department? Not only as mouthpieces for the US military, but agents of a belligerent power at that. If the US has called Iran part of the Axis of Evil, where does that leave our identity in Tehran’s eyes?

Even if the well-spoken former Miss America contender was relaying heartwarming stories, in the hands of Fox News or NPR, no doubt it doesn’t come out that way.

When the US finds foreigners reporting to Cuba, for example, without press credentials, they incarcerate them. For years.

So let’s be fair, Saberi is not even being labeled by Iran as a foreign agent. And though she did overstay her permit, she wasn’t being deported.

What got Saberi arrested was buying a bottle of wine, which is illegal in iran. Try to buy an illegal controlled substance in America and then cry about how authorities seem to be picking on you.

4/18 UPDATE!
Ms. Saberi has been sentenced to eight years for spying. American Media take heed. Some people are prepared to call you on your so-called Fifth-Estate objectivity. If it talks like a propagandist, even if it walks like an innocuous beauty pageant contestant, it’s an agent of the state. In this case, a world bully with Barack Obama’s smile painted across its grill.
