Barack Obama Administration uses hunger as weapon of war against the people of Yemen

Americans as a mass are so completely outside of the making of any political decisions in their supposed democracy, that they hardly now bat an eye at news about the US/ Pentagon war making in places like Bahrain, Syria, Libya, and Yemen. It's just background noise to most Americans these days, and people go about their daily lives totally oblivious to what the Pentagon is doing to the peoples of other nations of the world. It's not like most of us feel that there is anything we can do about it! This week the US basically declared war on the country of Syria by openly declaring that it was arming the opposition to the government there, and here is news now about how half the people of Yemen are starving, after years of US backed military dictatorship and direct US military operations there in Yemen. Yemen food crisis reaching 'catastrophic proportions' Does Barack Obama want to change the situation in Yemen for the betterment of the people there? No. Instead all the evidence points to the US and Obama using hunger as a basic weapon of Pentagon warfare... that, and direct terrorism as in US interventionism inside Syria. 'Eat and do as we say, or die of hunger and watch your kids die first before you, Moms and Dads of Yemen.'

Denver April 28 War on Women march was a PRObama rally and we fell for it

DENVER- Isn't there something distasteful about a gathering of Obama supporters who want to rail against "The War On Women" and permit no mention of his non metaphorical deadly engagements? Organizers complained bitterly about activist Rita Ague's successful subversion of their Democratic Party-only event messaging, while pretending the Pro-Obama theme was spontaneous and not partisan astroturf. While attendees carried all sorts of reproductive rights slogans, the only signage hung on the amphitheater was for Dem candidates. We had anticipated as much from early participants instructed not to worry about signs, they'd be provided. Indeed they were: "Women for Obama", "Latinas for Obama" and anti Right-wingnut signs. Another clue came from Denver colleagues who surprised us with the news that a significant turnout was not expected because the Denver community was not responding. This was strictly a country mouse affair. By "we fell for it" I mean of course Colorado Springs, where we fall for everything. War, Jesus, and soon, Fracking. The average Colorado Springs Joe would prefer Sarah Palin in the White House, so to fall on the smarter side of that curve it's enough to favor Obama. In Colorado Springs even the left is right, gays are Log Cabin Republicans, and Occupiers are Teabaggers. Only on conservative campuses did academics look for common ground between Occupy Wall Street and the Tea Party. Sure enough, three of the five organizers were from Colorado Springs, all outside Denver circles. Does it matter? Not really, the day was a fun outing for Spring's would-be activated women, and the issues are real and persist. But why now? Why the sudden "Rightwing" onslaught on women's rights, when Republican candidates and representatives are already wearing the black hat in the economic downturn? It's called baiting, and the Repugs took it. The War on Women, so-called, is the cry to circle the wagons in fear and support your local gunslinger and hey, he's a Democrat! And there they were, keeping to themselves at upstage right, the candidates waited to make their speeches about who was going to save the women. As a LONG TIME party faithful, Rita Ague sussed immediately that this "grassroots" event was a DP hoax. She recognized the usual suspects and traditional call outs. Newly activated citizens are prey for election year campaigns, and Rita suspected the Dems were after the better half of the 99% like the GOP did the Tea Party. Even in their country mouse afterglow, organizers pretend they didn't know their rally would become Pro-Obama. Does that make them duplicitous or simply stupid? I'm tired of suspecting otherwise earnest, personable, and very effective fellow activists of being deceitful, hence the depressing tone of this story. We're idiots, in a more disguised analogy, we're sheep. Rita Ague was criticized for upstaging the speakers with her sign, NO WAR ON WORLD OR WOMEN. Because it clashed with the programmed message. (No Democrat is offering to save women from war.) In threatening Rita, the organizers proved themselves as comfortable as their political guests with censoring all

Obama takes historic step on pop-top, endorses gay marriage again for you

What next? Is candidate Obama going to say he's against war again too? I recall some event last week which was held to be the kickoff of President Obama's presidential campaign, but today's statement confirms it, Candidate Obama is in the house, he's for whatever you're for, until it turns out, any expectations you had were too damn high, a president is powerless to do anything but what you're against. President Obama rededicating May Day to be Loyalty Day leaves no words.

Will the 99% Spring mean grassroots reinforcements for Occupy or MoveOn?

I'm going to think that the more mobilization of the 99% the better, no matter if it's, ding-dong MoveOn Calling. The vast 99 are wise to the corporations and the corporate media, I think they'll recognize when corporate organizers try to co-opt their protest. It might be bad enough that MoveOn's nationwide "Nonviolence Teach-in" wants to defang the popular uprising, they probably imagine the public's anger can be refocused on the usual Republican bogeymen. What's so nefarious about MoveOn? It backs President Obama. That means even though MoveOn wants to play megaphone for the 99% and its demands, it's actually against all of them. MoveOn Obama is against Wall Street reform, against universal healthcare, against action on climate change, against fill-in-the-blank if the people are for it! MoveOn's centralized DC HQ, effective but decidedly not-grassy, will probably be its undoing.

Hey, let’s go? Are you frigging kidding me Mr. President?

I got the strangest email from President Obama over the weekend... Maybe it impressed you too. Its subject was "Hey". Probably his ghostwriter phoned it in. It began: "Eric -- I need you with me on this one." Okay, what's the issue? Oh, money. Can you say I need you with me about money? If you're saying ante up I suppose, but poker's not a team sport. "Tonight's deadline is our biggest yet, and I need everyone pitching in. Give $3 or whatever you can: [www.etc]". Why? --is the question that springs to my mind. As a sign of good faith it would help if our president was pitching in, doing whatever he can. He finished "Let's go," signed "Barack". LET'S GO?! Even being told APRIL FOOLS wouldn't wipe that exhortation of its implied extortion.

Right wing blogger asshole Andrew Breitbart died of shame, obviously

More likely gout. Obviously Breitbart's body lacked the bilious elasticity of Bill O'Reilly or Rush Limbaugh. Speaking of which, were you in the loop on this email joke? A young black Limbaugh asks his mom; "Mommy, how come I’m black and you’re white?" To which his mother replied: "Don’t even go there Rush! From what I can remember about that party, you’re lucky you don’t bark!"   Probably you'd find that joke more crude than either a Limbaugh or Breitbart mother would deserve, but imagine that the actual subject of the email was President Obama and his mother. The real story is that such an email was forwarded by Montana Chief US District Judge Richard Cebull to his inner circle, with the following personal note: “Hope it touches your heart like it did mine.”

Did Obama’s middle class speech, as the MSM says, strike a chord? From Osawatomie, the note was sour.

OBAMA STRIKES A CHORD WITH MIDDLE CLASS SPEECH. What cynical populist fable-telling. President Obama delivered a speech in Kansas yesterday appearing to speak up for America's middle class, as if he wasn't the reddest-handed fox in the hen house. Once again President Hope spews Orwellian double-speak as he eviscerates the world's social fabric. Yet the media trumpets that Obama's speech "struck a chord" in a most pernicious stretch of dissembling. If Obama struck a chord, it was like a guitarist strikes a chord, on a wrong note, or ringing true, but to say Obama's words resonated is to pretend that wasn't entirely the product of media amplification. In Obama's case, lined-in through spin effects - in guitar terms it's called Reverb. To strike a chord used to mean saying something that hit your listeners just right. Is that what happened? Does our Nero have anyone convinced --beside our media-- that he's Spartacus?   I'm disturbed because President Obama chose Osawatomie, Kansas to grace with his forked tongue. Osawatomie was the nickname given Abolitionist John Brown, for holding his ground in an early anti-slavery battle at the Osawatomie slave sanctuary. Obama might have chosen the locale for its historic Free State significance, but instead of mentioning the radical Brown, he praised Teddy Roosevelt, the father of American imperialism. BTW, the Weather Underground published its anti-imperial, anti-racism missives in an underground press magazine called Osawatomie.

Colonel Gaddafi meets his killer-to-be. Would you have shaken that hand? I’m talking about Obama’s.

Can you match this for a haunting image? There's Colonel Gaddafi and President Obama, two years ago. I suppose the Tea Party would pretend they were pals. Why wouldn't they be, both are misunderstood weirdos, both were espoused rescuers of their respective peoples. Where similarities end, the rivalry is epic. One the protector of Africa and the unaligned world, the other its despoiler. One perhaps rendered timid with age, bombed into submission, his own daughter killed by an extrajudicial US assassination attempt, the other his future killer. I look at this image and reflect on the author of the Little Green Book, ideology for the Libyan renaissance, whose recent pitiless murder was videotaped and televised from all angles. Others might look more soberly at President Barack Obama, skilled comfort giver, who we've come to see shows no reticence for killing thousands sight unseen, but here he's looking his mark straight in the face. What's Obama saying with that handshake? I'm not sure Obama's eye contact is going to have the effect it used to.

Oct 24-29 is Mile High Showdown, plus Obama, Tar Sands, 1% Robin Hood Tax

DENVER- Is it a vanguard action? Check it out and decide, but make sure YOUR itinerary includes TUES 25TH protest of Tar Sands pipeline with American Indian Movement at the UC-Denver Auraria Campus, WED 26TH protest of Obama visit, also on Auraria Campus, and SAT 29TH global march to demand Robin Hood Tax, the 1% tax on all international banking transactions. Really, just 1%? The Robin Hood of yore took more like 99% and left his highborn victims with just enough to limp back to the castle. 1% from the 1% is a start.

“United For Global Change” is Madison Ave dilution of “Global Democracy” cry. Oct 15 not for Obameaningless change

UNITED FOR GLOBAL CHANGE certainly smacks of the meaningless slogan that swept President Hope to power. My guess is that this is Advertizer Omnicom's contract PR redesign to subvert the worldwide Global Democracy movement sparked by Spain's Indignant rebels and the Arab Spring. Original promotional materials called for GLOBAL DEMOCRACY, which meant something obviously, but might confuse Americans who think their illusion of democracy is enough, spread via Pax Americana. Global "Change" is a straw man open to pundits critical of unspecific demands, "Democracy" less so. Omnicom is just a guess, they're the outfit who saved McDonalds' skin with "I'm lovin it" and who was contracted by the USG to sell Obama's Wars to the international public. I forgot who won all the Addy in 2008 for the ad campaign of the year, brand "Obama." International demonstrations scheduled for October 15th are more than protests in solidarity for Occupy Wall Street in NYC. OCT15 is a call for DEMOCRACIA REAL YA, which I'm sorry, doesn't translate to REAL *CHANGE* NOW! What's change anymore but an Obamaesque meaningless platitude? Dispiriting is the infusion they've intended. "United for Global Change?" Yeah, I don't think so. First it's hard to swallow that "change" translates more universally than "democracy." Second, President Obama's neo-grassroots orgs are obviously trying to seed anticipation of 2012 with a meme of international support. We Are Change, Be the Change, Democrats For Change, Democratic Change, Change That Works, Change Happens --whatever. In your dreams Democratic party. The world isn't taking to the street to settle for an Obama Nothing Revolution. Wanna bet that this Global Change job was commissioned by something akin to Change International, funded by a USAID affiliate, dispersing funds meant to promote CIA-styled Democratic Astroturf pro-US counterrevolutionaries in regions not yet sufficiently subservient to US multinational extraction industries? So what if an establishment vanguard has succeeded in rebranding OCT 15 for placebo consumption. By all means please join the marches Saturday, regardless your unlike-minded companions. The vocabulary will be mixed, the media is already preparing headlines using the approved slogan makeover, but fear not, the rest of the world is marching for real Democracy and everyone knows it.

Someone should tell Obama that Troy Davis was a white banker. He’ll freak.

On the day after the state murder of Troy Davis, you've got to feel sorry for the Obamapologists who must have a lot more in a knot than their panties. How do you explain why President Obama couldn't intercede to save the life of accused off-duty-cop-killer Troy Davis? Because it would have been unseemly for a black president, the first, to intervene in the sanctioned lynching of another black man, whose number is lost among the countless. It would have been a formidable first, but Obama took the highroad, out of Dodge. Was it a matter of not stepping on states' rights? Because preventing an injustice would not have been worth it? To save a human life?

Do you remember September 11? Yeah, but I remember Fahrenheit 911 too.

Crap. Not satisfied with remembrance, now they've made 9/11 a "national day of service." Is President Obama calling for community service? That's usually court-ordered. I don't need to be told Never Forget September Eleventh, who can NEVER FORGET the Patriot Act was penned, the blueprints of Guantanamo drafted, and the invasion of Iraq planned, BEFORE the Word Trade Center events of 9.11.2001?

Dear President Tar Baby…

Does anyone know if Rep. Lamborn really sent an apology to President Obama for calling him a Tar Baby? Has anyone seen it? Lamborn's office issued a press release saying "the congressman is confident that the President will accept his heartfelt apology." News headlines regurgitated the story sight unseen. The Denver Post quoted Lamborn: "I am sure that he will not take offense and he'll be happy to accept my apology because he is a man of character.”   How do we know an apology was sent? Because Lamborn says so? That dork told us Obama was a Tar Baby, luckily someone showed skepticism about that. This reminds me of the old gag about the man who returns to his parked car to find a note on the windshield: "Sorry I dented your car. I'm writing you this note so people will think I'm leaving my contact info, but I'm not." Until Representative Lamborn issues a public apology, or until President Obama acknowledges Lamborn's contrition for such a preposterous racist remark, how is this insult to everyone's intelligence and sense of humanity supposed to be lessened? To judge by the lack of sensitivity shown in Lamborn's press release, composed for the public, there couldn't have been much by way of empathy in a private letter to Obama. Alleged. Try to find it online. Every news article about the purported apology links back to Lamborn's press release. On his Facebook page, Lamborn has a link called "my apology to President Obama" but it leads to the same PR blurb below. (emphasis mine) Lamborn Issues President an Apology Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05) today sent a personal letter to President Barack Obama apologizing for using a term some find insensitive. Lamborn was attempting to tell a radio audience last week that the President's policies have created an economic quagmire for the nation and are responsible for the dismal economic conditions our country faces. He regrets that he chose the phrase "tar baby," rather than the word "quagmire." The Congressman is confident that the President will accept his heartfelt apology. Saying "I told him I was sorry" never passed muster in primary school, especially a pronouncement that was 3/4 filled with more insult. A child who'd offended another was made to apologize to his face, out loud. Why is Colorado's asinine little congressman being given a pass on a transgression that reflects so unbecomingly on his community? In response to the local fallout, Lamborn's office has acquiesced to holding a public forum on Friday August 19. It's outside of town, go figure, in a church pre-filled with dumb bigots, to ensure Lamborn's supporters can find him. What's he going to say there? "My statement wasn't racist." "Amen!" "It's not Obama's being black that makes him untouchable." "Amen!" I don't want to go -- what is there to say to him? I don't even want to meet Lamborn's unrepentant eyes, much less sit in an audience and give the stupid creep the impression what he has to say deserves a listen.

If Obama is a Trojan Horse, we better brush up on Virgil and the Sack of Troy

Yeah, the Right has abused this cliché: President Obama is a Trojan Horse for health care, for Socialism, yada yada, ad nauseum. Finally the Left is coming round to see Obama as no less a Trojan Horse. But for who? The same old oligarchs.   We thought the barbaric Right had flown off in Dubya's sheepish helicopter ride outa Dodge. Now it turns out the Hopemeister was a ruse to avoid a change of the guard. If we can wrap our heads around the first black president being not just Supreme Misleader in Chief, but wooden horse for Goldman Sachs and General Electric among the horsemen, we really ought to freshen our historical sense of what happens when a city falls to a siege. Take no solace that the literary allusion in modern times has come to reference computer malware, the outcome still means take no prisoners.

OMG the Colorado Springs Gazette Telegraph agrees Obama is a Tar-Baby

YES OF COURSE my surprised is feigned, but not my embarrassment. How in the world does a newspaper of not insignificant distribution (okay, readership perhaps) not restrain itself from supporting a bigoted remark like Congressman Lamborn's? Whether the racism was inadvertent or idiotic, at best the comparison of America's black president to a "Tar-Baby" could have been remarked upon, if one didn't want to condemn it, but the Colorado Springs Gazette chose to support its Tea-Party libertarian by belittling criticism that the reference to the Uncle Remus stereotype was racist. In historic perspective it recalls the days when Colorado newspapers endorsed lynchings, and later the Klan. In essence that's not ancient history. People no further away than Denver can dismiss Lamborn as typical of Pikes Peak mouth-breathers, and the Gazette editorial page confirms them. Indignation doesn't begin to touch it.

Doug Lamborn won’t touch President Obama because he says he’s a Tar Baby

That line probably gets lots of laughs at Tea Parties, but over Denver airwaves, Congressman Doug Lamborn's likening President Obama to a "Tar Baby" got, I'll say it, sticky. Yeah, the expression meant "intractable quagmire" when Mitt Romney used it to describe an cost-prohibitive subway project, but Tar Baby's primary allusion to a negative African-American stereotype got Romney in trouble. Now like a banana peel gag irresistible to Republicans, "Tar Baby" is how Doug Lamborn chose to describe, not a hole in the ground into which you pour money, not a trap set by a clever fox to lure the Uncle Remus progenitor of Bugs Bunny, but to describe his Teabag constituents' poster child usurper, risen from America's untouchable class, our first black president.   You dopey Tea Party Klan jester, you won't shake Barack Obama's hand because it's black. You're a racist sneak, unfortunately egged on by the bigots endemic to your backwater district. I hope you find that the rest of Colorado will make your "Tar Baby" remark a real tar baby for you. Lamborn says he meant "quagmire" and a supportive media is referencing the dictionary to assert his usage was correct. But the instances for which Romney and John McCain apologized were quagmires, not personifications, least of all OF Obama. A physicist can say he's got a problem that's real bitch, but not if he's talking about his wife. I think it's fairly disingenuous to say the primary definition of Tar Baby is a quagmire. That's like concluding Fag is a cigarette. Yes, but that's when neither are used to describe a person. Curiously the local media helpfully mention that "Tar Baby" was a plot device in Uncle Remus, popularized by Disney in Song of the South. No mention that it's the only animation that has not been reissued, because it's widely regarded as offensive on racist grounds. Lamborn has apologized to President Obama and assures interviewers that he's confident his apology will be accepted. Isn't it ironic that he won't touch Obama with a ten foot pole, yet can count on the man's magnanimity? Of course he's right, the president opposes nothing, why take issue with racism? But I believe Lamborn will have lost his value to even his Tea Party Klan associates. Having his apology accepted, it's going to be impossible for Lamborn to belittle Obama with even a pea-brain pretense of credibility.

Find the Michele Bachmann inside you

So Michele Bachmann was a tax collector. Sarah Palin was an oil industry stooge. The media didn't conjure these villainesses from whole or rare cloth. Most politicians are corporate functionaries before they bill the public to do it. If they haven't dedicated their lives expressly to destroying the environment, the social fabric, your job and everyone's quality of life, they've always understood your loss was somebody's gain, and theirs. Know anyone like that around you? Practically everyone! That's whose throats you need to wrap your fingers around. Shake the blinders off their eyes with good old-fashioned throttling. Shout them down. Shut them up. Shame and scorn them, the heartless, uninformed, apathetic pricks. Activism begins at the grassroots, pull those weeds from the roots. The media sets up Bachmann and Palin as characters you love to hate, there for you to pillory in effigy. You can flame them with your wit, call for their heads, but ultimately their pulpits lay beyond your reach, from where they safely goad you at the media's whim. Wake up. Bachmann and Palin are the effigies. Burning them accomplishes nothing. They're the poster children rotten apples among the joe public rotten apples which fill the American barrel. Look around you. See all the clueless, amoral, self-serving opportunists? Time to drop the agree-to-disagree, polite society pretense. Take the gloves off and have at 'em.

ACLU and Shepard Fairey drape Lady Liberty in nationalism & jingo-freedom

Is "Freedom" the same thing as Liberty? Let's see, ACFU? It has an unfriendly ring to it.   The American Civil Liberties Union commissioned this fundraising magnet from halftone-deaf one-note Obamartist Shepard Fairey, but somebody confused this for a Department Of Defense contract. "Leading Freedom Forward"? That's USA's imperialist catchphrase! Please note at the helm is Fairey's first client: Obama. Linguists have long lamented America's abandonment of liberty for the nefariously vacuous "freedom." Freedom is for Operations, Markets, CIA-funded Pro-Democracy [sic] ops, and O-wellian doublespeak. "The Price of Freedom" is the title of the Smithsonian's military history exhibit. Now the ACLU jumps on the war-wagon? That's the Statue of Liberty with a bullhorn, as a union organizer -- you can tell by the clipboard, but they've draped her in a flag, literally. Can you imagine any national monument with less need to prove her patriotism? I would have preferred they had used blind Lady Justice in reference to nationalism, where her blindfolded could have been the Red, White and Blue. But that's probably a too obvious fashion statement about fascism. Dear ACLU, where are you going with this? Let me clarify my criticism of Shepard Fairey. He's a brilliant artist. By "halftone-deaf one-note" I refer to the FANS of his Blue Period, circa 2008. My beef is that this work recalls Fairey's iconic Obama poster, though obviously it wouldn't be considered a "Shepard Fairey creation" if it hadn't. But. Is it appropriate that the ACLU wants to promote itself and its vital uni-partisan cause, with a ubiquivisual trademark that screams Democratic Party? Thankfully ACLU's legal team at least has not failed to recognize Obama's DP as the current reigning champion of civil liberty oppression.

$5 chance to win dinner with Obama could be available for price it’s worth

Democratic fundraisers are hawking the chance to win a dinner with President Obama for the donation of $5 or more to the 2012 election campaign. Rather than sit across the table from the smug insincere technocrat, can I opt for the immediate cash value of the prize? Were I a corporation, that value would be precisely calculable, but as an ordinary citizen, we all know the real value is, excuse the pun, O. In which case I'd hope they offer a better investment option, that entries be permitted with no purchase necessary, as required by law for any other sweepstake scheme.

AIPAC speechmeister Barack Obama may not be such a good liar after all

In his speech to AIPAC this year, President Obama described the foes of Zionism as determined to "wipe Israel off the map," the last word quickly retracted and replaced with "Earth." A quick glance at the prepared text shows this wasn't a slip of the tongue, it was an official concession that Obama is familiar with the un-spun translation of Ahmadinejad's words. But Obama's reflexive on-the-fly edit reveals how literal the Zionists are about their myth-building, and how little leeway Obama has to break with the US Israel agenda. The war drumming against a nuclear-powered Iran invokes the specter of an annihilation of the Jews based on s supposed threat to "wipe Israel off the face of the Earth." I think today's vocab malfunction suggests that Obama knows the rest of the authentic translation reads: "to wipe the Zionist regime off the map." With the advent of the Arab Spring, the term has become the Illegal Zionist Entity formerly know as Israel. Throw in the Apartheid qualifier and Ahmadinejad's threat is an objective to which a greater and greater number agree.

Huckabee out, Trump out; Obama too can bow out, has same nothing to offer

IN LIGHT OF TERM 2008-2011, IDEA FOR OBAMA 2012: If you're neither going to close Guantanamo NOW, unmake war, support popular uprisings against authoritarianism, intercede with the environment, challenge corporate malfeasance, rein in the banksters, reverse class inequality, repeal the Patriot Act, reestablish transparency, restore justice, nor even reignite faith in American democratic righteousness, MIGHT I SUGGEST YOU DECLINE presuming to need a second term? Because really, what is it you propose you have to offer?

Republicans already have a candidate for 2012: Barack Anwr Obama

Looking for a challenger right of Barack Obama can only yield a caricature, irrelevant, bigot or panderer. If any candidate will offer a real alternative to the duplicity of Obama's corporatist agenda, wouldn't he or she have to come from the left? Yes the Democratic Party is just sheep clothing for the usual wolves, but I'm still hopeful about the actual Democratic voter, or should I say I'm in denial, that the average progressive liberal will not fall for Obama again.
