American caesars who want to cross the Rubicon with a Rubicon need a map

I just came across one of these in a parking lot yesterday, apparently the Jeep Rubicon has been out for a few years. This uber-alles thrillcraft sort of defines America’s sorry state of cultural illiteracy, wouldn’t you say? Julius Caesar didn’t violate Rome’s Posse Comitatus prohibition riding IN A Rubicon. Bad-ass as you wanna be, if your Rubicon is like the average off-road vehicle, it will never leave the pavement. Your Rubicon logo is just to remind one and all that you could cross it, if you knew where it was. The sorrier irony is that Caesar’s defiant act militarized the empire’s civil society and curtailed its democracy.

News from Imperial Rome, Crusades 2.0, and Racist Hysteria

Italy is warning the rest of Europe about Tunisian refugees and others from the wave of rebellion against the Empire in their home Vassal States, coming to Europe and taking over. Like they haven’t been doing exactly that same thing to North Africa since the Punic Wars. Guess it’s different when the shoe and the foot are on the other shore. They DO have some legitimate cause for concern, the last time the Empire got this big and powerful, it was taken over and some say, taken down, by a wave of religious refugees from the Middle East. They’ve even got a church where one of the Imperial palaces, the Vatican, once stood.

Berlusconi gets another church thrown at him…

Only this time it’s the actual Pope getting in his face, rather than a statue of a church. About having relations with a teen prostitute. He dismissed the accusation as Politically Motivated and vowed to punish the magistrates.
“I Am Your Emperor, Obey Me!! (paraphrase, because he’s not going to stand up to the REAL Empire anytime soon)

Not looking good for Silvio. Seems a bit snotty to say that about him, but there’s something about His Merciless Majesty that just doesn’t inspire kind thoughts. I just would a heap rather they throw war crimes charges against him.
